I'd agree with you. But lately, it seems like if one person brings in any item (even a map), you get hit with Franklin's. I've straight up stopped bringing in items and offerings because I don't want them to be wasted. If I leave with an item I find, it's a trophy and nothing else.

I completely agree with you there. For some reason, no matter what items I brought in, I'd end up being the focus of attention in the game. When I went in bare handed, I had more fun because the killer would not come for me as much.

Did you manage to escape? They could come to help for the save instead of waiting near the gate. ๐Ÿ˜ญ

    Nope. Died.

  • @TheMadCat

    You're a great teammate.

The exit gate wasn't too far off so theoretically, I could have escaped. To pour more salt on the wound, the person that unhooked me was running IN FRONT of me so that I was directly in front on the killer. No NOED, no BT, just a scary punk along with his punk friends at the exit gate.

  • This should be moved into the "Bug Reporting" category. That's unfair.

  • @TheArbiter

I mean granted, I'm responsible for my own survival but good God, take a hit. It was against the Doctor for crying out loud. And what annoyed me was the three of them crouching at the exit gate while I'm bleeding out.

  • I'm chill.

If I play competitively, then I'll end up getting more upset. If I play casually, then I won't get mad and I'll just try to laugh and enjoy the trials as much as I can.

At the end of the day, no money is involved so no point in raging over this game.

Yea I take pleasure in knowing that swing chains paint brush freddys are just taking their anger out on the next match because they just got their ass whopped.

You know what? That's kind of the reason I made the post. It was a Freddy with those add-ons and boy, you can tell he was upset. I just felt it while playing, that and he hard tunneled.

  • Good thing mods don't really filter these posts.

That crap happens a lot in solo queues. I had a game not too long ago and the ghost face let the Meg go to come and find me. I was literally working on a gen when they came to me. This was after I had safely unhooked her twice and even gotten her up off the steps to the basement. After he downed me and put me on the hook, the Meg just waited for me to get to struggle and I let go. After that, he downed her and carried her to the hatch. People are dicks. It makes me not want to help anyone else, but I'm not like that.

I've had a similar experience and stuff like that does affect how I play the next games on that day. I play solo and I care for my team and want people to escape but if BS like that or similar happens, I bring perks that only benefit myself and usually don't go for hook saves if inconvenient or I'll open the exit gates early and leave. I become very selfish if survivors throw me under the bridge like that.

some people are just running out of ideas how to nerf survivors more so you know thats what happens

Yes! Leave Spine Chill alone. It's my must have perk. Next, they'll want to nerf Premonition which isn't even a perk I use but works in a similar fashion.

  • @Ryan489x said:

    Spine Chill and NOED.

    Just an opinion

No! I love Spine Chill and honestly, it's not that good of a perk against more experienced killers.

I always assume they just had a bad match before. I like to think they don't always play that way. Stupid optimist in me.

That's what I think sometimes, too. I play on PS4 so I don't have the luxury to chat like on PC. I just have to assume.

  • @EvanSnowWolf said:

No. People are allowed to play how they want. This sentence is just something Survivors throw at Killers in endgame chat anytime they do something nasty.

    Oh, ok.

No? I want those who deliberately and intentionally screw their teammates over to be punished.

Also, intentionally destroying pallets and sandbagging your teammates is a reportable offense, so "People will play how they want and you can't do anything about it" doesn't even necessarily hold true.

Then report it and/or scream loud enough and maybe the devs will do something about these "hook suiciders".

  • @TAG said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2004443#Comment_2004443

The issue is with the three Survivors you just screwed over.

That's just the way the game goes. Don't let it bother you. People will play how they want and you can not manage how they choose to play. Period. I just deal with it. If they suicide on hook, then oh the [BAD WORD] well. That doesn't mean all hope is lost and the other survivors are screwed over. Just keep playing and get as much BP as you can. You might even escape if the odds are in your favor.

TL;DR. Just roll with the punches and maybe something good might happen.

  • I ran across a survivor with the name "Big Booty on Duty" while playing Jane. I love that name!!

  • @Kebek said:

Judith's tombstone is very easy to counter, the purple tombstone piece is the harder one.

So, the obvious tell is that Michael's stance is different if he's using JT (his has a visible mori hand, go to check wiki on JT for more), first main thing is to understand how the addon works. He needs to full stalk all 3 survivors (if used with the turf of hair which is always) so you gotta break LOS as much as possible, denying any stalk. Meanwhile, rush gens like crazy as he's not pressuring at all, you're free to do gens really fast. Always assume Michael has some TS if it takes him long time to reach EW 3 and better use the other counters I'l list if you assume he might have the purple TS, it's better to be safe than moried.

Secondly, notice who is the obsession as they are the key for really easy win. Pre-throw pallets before he gets pallet stunned if he's using Nemesis to deny him PWYF stacks. If obsession, just try to avoid him as much as possible so you don't feed him mobility.

Thirdly, once he actually does reach T3 and you still have gens left, you need to abuse the trigger condition for the mori. He needs to be littlerally so close to breath on your neck to mori you. He can't mori you if you are on uneven ground (stairs), in animation (holding M1 on a gen) or the most important one A LOCKER . Always check where is the closest locker to your position and if he attempts to mori you, just run to it and hop inside if he it means getting downed early, you can try to loop a little before entering a locker but it's risky as if you fail, you die.

If you do all that, you should have really good odds to win even versus very fast tombstones. The main problem as with everything is your teammtes need to do it all as well and tombstone is rare is it's natural that nobody knows how to play againt it. At that point if your teammates don't know what to do, it's matchmaking issue as you need good teammates to win vs any strong killer and TS myers is the same.

    Hope this helps.

You had the best, most informative, and least judgemental response. Not sure why everyone likes to shame and blame the person or think that you want something nerfed when looking for counter-play. The only thing I really forgot about was using lockers because I rarely play against the tombstone add-on. Thank you!

  • @Dizzy1096 said:

I thought survivors liked waiting 10 mins for a lobby just to be out in 3 minutes? Thats why Iโ€™m getting swf lobbies that bring 4 toolboxes and split across gens

I don't like super fast matches myself..

  • @Tsulan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/233181/judiths-tombstone

So just to get this right. You complain about 10 minute survivor queues and want to nerf a killer addon that usually costs the killer the match, because it requires so much.

Have you thought about asking for killer buffs instead?

I never said I wanted it nerfed.

  • Only if the bat breaks after one use, then I'll allow it. Don't think it'll be too healthy for the game, though.

I just want a perk that makes you drop pallets even faster to avoid getting hit through pallets all the time.....

  • @Dwight_Fairfield said:

Iri hatchet Huntress, forever Freddy, stridor Spirit etc I can understand people losing the will to play the match out.

Don't forget instantly broken by Plague. Idk what they call her when she runs those add-ons, lol.

  • I play solo and I'm constantly put with other SWFs that are not in my rank. I'm current rank 1 and for example, I'll be put with another red rank that's playing with significantly lower ranked friends. And then I find out that the killer is also rank 1. Then the match typically goes downhill sometimes.

Usually, I'm placed with a rainbow of ranks but the killer is often, suspiciously a rank 1.

Come on, DBD, get it together!

  • I'm not sure this is wholesome but it kind of is.

I was on PS4 and this was before cross-play.

When the "Dwelf" cosmetics came out, I was playing The Legion and 3 Dwelfs and Jane appeared in my lobby. The entire game, the 3 Dwelfs crotch walked in a line around the entire map just to jingle their bells. The Jane attempted to do gens. I don't remember the tome challenge I had to do but I knew what was happening.

Long story short, I ended up sacrificing everyone to complete whatever challenge I had to do but I felt so bad for killing them. They just wanted to spread Christmas cheer and they never ran away from me, except the Jane. I almost wanted to at least let the Jane live but I was too selfish to get the challenge done since it was so easy to do under the current circumstances.

The 3 Dwelfs, if you're reading this, thanks, and I'm sorry. That match really stuck in my mind even though it was so long ago.

So you couldn't reach a locker in how many seconds? There's not a single map where you're unable to reach locker after dropping pallet on killer, that's how many lockers are there.

I just didn't happen to be near one before I got caught.

  • @JinSime said:

The only counterplay I know of it is the typical "avoid feeding him stalk" advice, so that you can get 3-4 gens done before he gets his power and once he gets it, enter a locker when he's too close for you to vault a window or drop a pallet. That way he'll either slug you or have to hook you.

If it's not infinite, you can play super safe and probably he'll not get much out of it. But usually it is, so you have to keep extra awareness not to be bad positioned.

I've had a match everyone was locker diving because of that and at least one escaped in the end (I was moried in the door of the locker, unfortunately).

I'm looking forward for more tips too if anyone has them.

That's right! I forgot lockers were his weakness with that add-on.

    @Profezia said:

    Don't feed him.

Literally anytime I play or face Myers with red mori addons, I see 2-3 gens pop before he reaches the state where he has to come in tap range from a survivor.

Sometimes I see Myers pop T3 on 5 gens left, but that's usually because there's that one overconfident survivor who thinks that there's no problem in giving killer T3 or a good portion of stalking progress in first 30 seconds of the game. Maybe that's your case?

I did the first gen and the team managed to get nearly 2 more gens done before I got caught. I was trying to break line of sight and run around everything but there wasn't a locker near me when he T3 off of me.

  • [BAD WORD] The Twins.

  • There's always lag when in-game events happen during a trial on those platforms. Even running over an item as survivor cause lag, lol.

  • @OniWantsYourMacaroni said:

Just get rid of it.The FPS drops from it screw me over everytime anyway >:(

Do you play on PS4 or XB1? I hated when bloodlust would activate and the next thing you know, I'm running into a wall or obstacle ๐Ÿ˜….

  • Against experienced Twins, they are kind of hard. The common strategy I've seen is either camping a hook or slugged character with either Twin and often switching between them. I've also seen Charlotte be used to block vaults and pallets.

It's sometimes hard to dodge Victor because sometimes it doesn't look like his pounces even connect.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/229846/stop-trying-to-kobe-before-a-save

First off you should have unhooked them, they dont learn anything by staying on hook, they learn by dying instantly on 2nd hook. You didnt include rank info so might have been a newer player

As for why someome would do this i can come up with a couple reasons.

    1. The timer was going to go to 2nd stage anyways, they may have also just misjudged the timer and thought that incorrectly.

    2. Going for the achievement for self unhooks, and misjudged the timer. Running slippery meat is a waste of a perk slot and i dont have deliverance, so the best way to go for this is right before a rescue.

Going off what you've said, it's situational. The player on hook may be compelled to try and kobe off of the hook if they knew there was no chance they would get saved before 2nd phase, even if someone was on the way to unhook. Happened to me plenty of times where, for example, I was 3 seconds away from struggle and the other survivor was 5 seconds away from saving me.

  • You guys are petty. I've never noticed cowardly Claudettes in my matches. Usually they are quite helpful and beneficial to the team.

  • It's very, very uncommon for me to be left to die on first hook for no blatant reason. But solo queue is solo queue.

    *Insert angry Huntress stun noises*

  • Yeah, the community will never change but I do enjoy most of the matches I play in. I play solo. Had a match last night where the match was going OK and we were down to one gen left against the Huntress. Lisa Garland got tunneled instantly off hook earlier in the match but I still proceeded to help her after getting her off hook the second time. I helped others and helped do gens as normal.

At 1 gen left, she was the other teammate alive. I think we were in a 3-gen situation on Ormand. I moved away from the gen I was working on because the Huntress came nearby along with Lisa Garland. She ratted me out to the Killer for whatever reason and I ended up dying because she worked with the Killer at the end.

If you're reading this Lisa Garland player, [BAD WORD] and I hope you get yours soon. And [BAD WORD] to the Huntress for allowing that to happen. Toxic [BAD WORD] community!

  • I was reading a few earlier comments from page 1 and some people like to act like they're gods at the game. Don't acknowledge the peanut gallery and negative comments. Currently, rank and emblems are broken. How did I go from Rank 5 with one pip, to rank 6 with three pips the very next match? How did I lose 3 pips without even disconnecting? Lol

Anyway, if you're playing solo, sometimes teammates with lower skill than you can cause you to be negatively affected in your matches overall. Good luck, buddy, and may the odds be in your favor in your matches ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘.

  • If you're playing solo, it's up to you to survive, so don't expect much from others. Randoms do not care about your well-being most of the time. They will turn on you in a heartbeat and feed you to the Killer if they need to, even if you've done the best you could to ensure everyone's survival.

I play to get the most points I can before escaping or dying and in order to get those points, sometimes I have to help others, do the objectives, and get boldness from the Killer.

Bottom-line, worry about yourself while playing solo. If you can play with a friend, great.

TL;DR: Worry about yourself and forget everyone else.

  • Rank 1 killers tunneling and slugging for 4k because there's no obsession.

  • The new Autohaven map updates are troublesome, at least on Wretched Shop. The map looked too bright, lot's of dead zones, don't know where some of the pallets went, and I felt like the Killer could see me from all the way across the map. Good from the Killer's perspective, I guess.

  • @TheClownIsKing said:

So whenever a survivor is within 2 m of any totem, their aura is revealed.

If a Hex OTHER than Undying gets cleansed, and a dull totem is standing, that Hex is transferred to another dull totem.

If Undying is cleansed, then the Hex transferring ends, and the survivor aura reading within 2 m of totems also ends.

Thank you. I was really unsure because the in-game description confused me.

  • I wonder what a lot of these comments originally said before they were edited by the mod.

  • 20200509_235719.jpg

    Worst score ever.

  • TC, I feel like Jane's perk Solidarity could use that kind of a buff.

  • You'll only get fun games if you have great teammates. If someone is being pressured to death hook, I'll try to intervene and take the agro and/or hook state for them(if I haven't been hooked yet).

  • Lots of respectful comments.

But tell that to this Legion player I went against the other day. Extended the match by 10+ minutes just to get his little 4K. After my teammate picked me up from being slugged the 3rd time, I just gave up and stood there until he got what he wanted. So petty.

  • I don't camp because I feel it's a waste of time, unless exit gates are powered, then you have no choice but to camp. I don't tunnel unless there's only 1-2 gens left.

Tunneling at 3-5 gens left just feels scummy.

  • @Accullla Right, I forgot to mention the there was no NOED in that match.

Ironically enough on the very next match, me and another healthy survivor helped the 3rd injured survivor escape through the door while they were being chased.

It's about having common sense and helping each other out if you can.

  • As much as Dead Hard screws people over most of the time, this is bait if I ever did see it.

That's like saying to nerf Premonition because it's unfair that the Survivor knows which direction the Killer is coming from.

  • I thought the game tracked whenever a player unintentionally left the trial? Was that not right? There has been a few times where I got disconnected from a match at no fault of my own. I have very strong internet and occasionally I have noticed that this is the only online game that I play that disconnects me for no reason.

TC, I understand what you're saying but they have to close monitor intentional DC's versus the unintentional.

  • I see a few things happening in the future, and I'll just limit it to generator speed, Ruin and NOED: Either they will further balance Ruin, further balance NOED, or look at how gen speed currently is.
