The problem with the ones we have now is they get cut off early. And it's not because the killer hit them on hook.
-
Not that it would ever happen, but it would be cool if the game was more open source like Gmod. That way people could make their own balance changes, animations, and so on. But I know that idea is gonna ruffle some feathers because I can already hear "don't split the player base!"

I just finished playing Survivor for almost 6 hours and my average wait time was 2-4 mins each round so - - anecdotal evidence is kinda silly when you have 35k+ (Steam) people playing a game at a time.
Well that wasn't my wait time. It was yours. You think I'm just making all this up?

@Volcz said:
Wow a whole 5 minutes? Damn dude. Crazy. Tough life huh? Not 1m, not 2m, 5m for a que?! That is way too long!
The lack of empathy on the forums still surprises me somehow.
I realize that if 5 minutes is a long wait time for me, the people who usually wait 10 minutes for a match are having an even longer wait now. So yes, it is way too long.
-
It's one of the only killer sided structures in the game. That could be a factor.

It's entitled to stop playing a game if you can no longer play how you want?
Yeah. Some killers just want to chase and ignore the gens. Some survivors want the 60-second DS to stay so they can be super aggressive in their gen pushing. We all said that when Ruin got nerfed and Hillbilly got nerfed, we were gonna quit. But we didn't, because that would have been entitlement.
-
@VicThor said:
I pretty much agree with your points. Especially the POV of the killer, I find it ridiculous that you can’t see survivors who are too close to u.
Biggest issue in the game.
-
My best guess is that most of the survivor base would stop playing. If that happened, it would just show the widespread entitlement.
-
It's undeniable that some survivor players have god complexes, and they just want to toy with the killer and make them angry.
-
No, they should be fired for making such a piece of ######### killer that has to slug to win.
-
Someone recently played well and beat me as survivor, but I lost respect for them when they tbagged. "We're in red ranks, you should expect people to be toxic! Go back to grey ranks!" It's the absolutely disgusting mindset that toxic players have, that they HAVE to be toxic just because. I really pity them.
-
@Bond4ever said:
Now, do you think those toxic survivors are going to change their mindset cause someone on the internet said it?
Well, if you want to waste your energy.. that's on u
Great encouragement.

The devs and mods have repeatedly stated that tunnelling is a valid game strategy so why should someone following a valid strategy get punished?
You're asking the wrong person.

I absolutely disagree that tunnelers should be punished.
Why? Why is tunneling bad? Because it's not fun to lose? That's literally the only reason. It's a legitimate strategy, and it's generally the right one, if you're playing to win.
Polite gameplay says maybe the killer shouldn't just eject someone from the game right away, but until there's some kind of mechanic that punishes gen humpers, the idea that tunnelers should be punished is flat out wrong.
Like the other guy suggested, you need to incentivize non-tunneling gameplay, if that's what you want. Trying to punish people for doing the smart, efficient thing is counterintuitive and will just leads to people finding ways around it.
I've said before, sometimes you're just forced to tunnel. So people who say you should never tunnel basically mean you should lose instead, and that if you're having to tunnel and play catch-up, it's because you somehow played bad that game. It's such flawed logic.
-
I'm guessing the survivors were boosted. Like Oni, you can simply dead angle his rushes and you'll never get hit. Console Blight usually means your ability is just gonna be for movement, not damage. I guess you just got lucky.
-
@Rougual said:
Just slug till bleed out, if you never hook anyone you will never activate nor get hit by DS.
That's boring.

I don't know.

Oh yeah, 100%. Blight is a beast!
Not on console.

@thesuicidefox said:
Rancor is better.
Survivors will hesitate to DS you as the gens finish. They don't want to get mori'd.
Flawed logic. If they're solos, they won't know you have Rancor until they become it, so they're not gonna be deterred by something they don't know you have. If they're SWF they'll make sure you never even see the obsession after 5 gens are done.
-
It's not. Survivors will just go outside of your terror radius and then start healing.
-
@BioX said:
soooo you expect to be good at a game right away and if you are not you get sad?
They get sad because of how badly inexperienced players are treated. The in-game community is not very welcoming.

I've always thought that the survivor(s) should have a repair nerf if they are injured. Logically, they're bleeding out a lot and have serious wounds.. so focusing on how to repair a generator, would be difficult, whereas in a chase, they're probably on adrenaline and don't feel the pain too much.
Gameplay wise, it would incentive to heal, slowing down the game by a fair amount for the killer, as an injured survivor can still do everything a healthy survivor can do.. which is kind of silly.
Which would buff Legion, and he really needs it.

Take knock out, third seal and sloppy butcher on a hag and then just leave people on the ground after you down them; kill people by using the bleedout timer instead of sacrificing them. Unless everyone is down and no longer has unbreakable; then hook them of course..
Works with trapper and honing stone as well somewhat. Works on insta down killers too without knockout if you take like undying in its place.
You'll get plenty of insults, death threats and obscenities postgame- but you'll never be decisive striked or flashlight stunned out of a pickup ever again lol. Can't sabo a hook if you never use one xDDD
I don't like slugging. Few people do. I'll do it when I'm having a bad game or someone was acting toxic, but I just find it boring. Third Seal seems like one of those hexes like Devour and Lullaby that always get broken instantly. It has caught me off guard as a survivor though.

@Junylar said:
It's still a wonder why it's not affected by Unnerving Presence and Enduring. Enduring reduces your stun duration is reduced, but not for DS, nope: DS is an exception! Unnerving Presence even says plainly: "Triggered Skill Checks' success zones are reduced by 40/50/60 %." Well, for every skillcheck in the game EXCEPT DS, because DS is an exception again! They basically nerfed the only perks that could counter it so that they don't counter it anymore, as if DS was too weak of a perk and nobody wanted to use it.
DS's skill check is small enough. I already disagree with it being affected by Doctor's madness skill check interference. I did think that Enduring should affect it though.

Sure, it's a viscous circle. Survivors are toxic, killer is toxic to the next group, survivors want revenge on the next killer and so on.
But there is only so much someone can take, before snapping.
I think we should fight toxicity at the root. We have quite the amount of toxic streamers which have people imitating them. That needs to stop.
Yeah and this is the type of people they create. Look at this garbage. https://youtu.be/zfmBU9it11Q
-
I can easily do without it. I've done it for years. It's just one of the best tracking perks. It eliminates the situations where you look for people, go to a gen that nobody's working on, and then 2 gens pop because you didn't know people were at them.
-
That's just Jeff.
And yes it would be cool, included with a dinosaur man or rabid ape or something as a killer.
-

Because someone got injured on their own? I think there's a perk that does that. Otherwise, I'm a bit confused at the logic/joke
There's no perk that straight up injures yourself.

🎵 It's 2 killers! They're coming to your town!
2 killers! They're gon' show ya around!
One does work! One does nothin'! One does-!🎵

Here's how I'd rework because I don't care for the aura reading as we know it: show a survivor's aura when they're like 1m away from, or on, a totem. No 6-seconds of aura reading crap either. I want to see that aura constantly until they're off my totem. There's been so many times where I didn't look at my totem until after the 6 seconds had passed and I'm like "okay good, nobody is on my totem" and then it gets destroyed when it easily could have been defended. That's my biggest issue with current Undying, from a killer's perspective. Reviving hexes onto dull totems needs to stay of course, otherwise it defeats the point of the perk.
-
Yeah I got like 2 reds and 2 yellows. Bad matchmaking again, huh? I thought we were done with this, BHVR!
-
I think it's in a perfect place right now. And I keep telling people, run Spine Chill and you'll never get snuck up on. It should be an auto-include. Y'all are missing out.
-
That title is so clickbait and funny, I had to click on it. Good job.

We should make themed bingo cards (NOED, Keys, Mori nerf, gen Rush, toxicity, teabags, camping, slugging, etc) and play every day here at the forums. The winner gets to either take a team of survivors on a trip to the basement as Bubba.
A crossword puzzle, even better!

@GannTM said:
I’ve been going against a lot of NOED users lately and it’s super annoying.
If the perk is more annoying to you than other killer perks and playstyles, I recommend a map or Detective's Hunch. It may meaning giving up the DS or BT slots, but it may be worth it if you're seeing NOED that often.

When someone tells me to get good, it's usually because they salty that I camped the hook at endgame. I just like to laugh at them for it.
Because what else can you do in that situation? Let them go for free? It's regrettable that we even have to do that, and it would be nice if the survivors recognized that. But yeah, I feel you.

Well,what do you think are the devs supposed to do in order to stop toxicity?
There's only so much the devs can do against it like banning people for harassment or griefing.
Toxicity will always be a part of online gaming unfortunately.There won't be somekind of miracle that completely gets rid of toxicity.A message from the devs won't do anything either.
I disagree,there are actually a lot of players that behave normally without being overly toxic but people are more likely to remember the bad ones.
Also,just ask yourself.Do you really want to become one of those people that get satisfaction from ruining other peoples fun?
I don't know what I'm saying. Sometimes you say something stupid while you're in a bad state of mind and you double down on it to form a facade of confidence. I wish I could take it all back. Thanks for your concern. It's just hard to be the better man sometimes. I'll try to stay the course once again.

@QwQw said:
You can see on the side of the screen how many gens you hit depending on how many blood points you got.
That's not good enough. I want my notifications back. It's much more simple that way, and the perk should have stayed that way.

Yes, complain about the problem you are a large part of.
So I go off for a match or 2. That makes me "part of the problem"? I never said I did this regularly.
-
He's the most boring killer to play as and the most fun to play against. Why? Because he's so EZ to beat!
-
All the exhaustion perks are another health state, plain and simple. Especially when it comes to Dead Hard and Adrenaline. The ones that take the least skill to use are the best exhaustion perks in the game. Hmm, who would have thought?!
-
I'm all for it! I've had enough of an optimized, balanced DBD being restricted to a pipe dream!
-
Points shaming people is the most ridiculous thing in this game. Besides DS I mean.
-
Hillbilly. The overheat mechanic really broke the camel's back, but before that I realized that only bad survivors or outpositioned survivors will ever let you chainsaw them.
-
How is that even possible?!
-
@Rydog said:
People who say stuff like this don't want you to get good. They want you to continue to have poor matches so they can trash-talk you. These are the same people who, when faced with an actual good killer, yell at the killer player for using "crutch perks" or doing whatever thing they think is cheap or unfair.
They're sore winners, and sore losers. Report them post-game for toxic chat.
Don't be so naïve! Nobody gets punished for being toxic! What a laugh! Because if they did, the game would be in a much better spot!

Dude,you literally opened up a thread in the past talking about that toxicity is bad and the devs should do something against that.
But now you try to explain to us how intentionally going out and ruin matches for other people is ok because you got triggered/bullied by a group of survivors?
Do you really not see the irony here?
You are doing the same exact thing like those "bullies".
Yeah, and nothing happened since I posted that. After all these years, not a peep from the devs to address toxicity. Not even a "we don't approve of this". So eventually I said ######### it and dropped the morality argument. It's an honor system that nobody plays by, so why should I?
I don't need to take this from you. There's a host of people on this forum that are on my case about any and every post I make. What's the harm in 1 more person?
