Not all SWF are difficult to win as the killer, to be honest.

    Yeah, when they throw.

You lobby dodge because there's 4 people on another platform?

I play on PC and will often get an all other platform opposing team. They could be Switch/PS4/PS5/Xbox/Stadia/MS Store players. Have no way of telling.

    You'd dodge them anyway?

I understand dodging flashlight squads or keys, but putting on crossplay and then dodging when they're on another platform is stupid.

If I want to save myself from a stressful match, yes. There's no chance of a 4-man team if it's mixed platforms, but when it's all the same platform it is possible.

  • @Sluzzy said:

If I play solo, how can I lobby dodge a Freddy, Spirit, Huntress, or Blight with slowgen perks? These are not fair to verse.

Lobby dodging isn't a thing that survivors can do. You have no idea who the killer is until you get into a match.

Yeah some people really have it out for me because I say things they don't agree with. And simply bringing that to light is me playing the victim card, apparently. You can't win an argument with a fool.

U lobby dodge when ppl bring in medkits? Lol #########

They save an insane amount of time on healing. One of the most infuriating things in-game is repeatedly injuring an annoying survivor (because you can't afford to commit to them or you lose) and you keep seeing them come back healthy every 40 seconds to try and provoke you. If I saw 4 medkits, I might lobby dodge too.

  • @HelterSmelter said:

Lobby dodging could be because of anything. Sometimes a lobby's connection is dodgy and I'd rather dodge the game than play a laggy round where a handful of mistakes can snowball into a loss, in part due to connection speed.

Can you see what kind of connection people have in the lobby on PS4? If it is there, I just don't pay that much attention to it.

Respecfully i want to say that you read like you are a competetive player but you also want easy games. I dont blame you in first place for that, because thats the way you enjoy the game. But let me ask you something please (and maybe you ask yourself the same):

Whats the point of dodging a challange?

I know, loosing can be painful but we all know that even a Trapper can stomp good teams, even 4-man squads that work well together. But you have to be really good with him. Why did you stop trying to become good? I always have in mind that there are players who can manage it, so its not impossible, its just me beeing not at that level yet.

Note: This is not a "git good" posting or a try to blame you, i just want to know.

You have a silver tongue, friend. Unfortunately my well thought-out response was lost, because it hit new discussion instead of post. So here's a long story short.

I don't like losing, because I'm very competitive. If I don't 4k I feel like I didn't do well enough. I'm a rank 1 killer and can't see myself improving much beyond my current skill level. Survivors are too strong, or at least have the tools to be. For solos you gotta give it your all, and for SWF you gotta go above and beyond. The matches are so stressful that even when I win, I can't enjoy it. Making simple mistakes very few times costs me the game, but survivors can get downed like there's no tommorow and still be likely to escape. It feels like at a certain point my skill becomes irrelevant, and every match's outcome is in the survivors' hands, at least when it comes to SWF.

I dodge the challenge because it just isn't worth it.

  • Too often, and yet not often enough.

  • @Rydog said:

    Agreed.

I say this more often than I'd like, but: If you've decided to play Dead by Daylight, then play Dead by Daylight. You're making like a 15-minute commitment at most, and those four other people are on the line with you. Given the vast array of options there are in this game, you are inevitably gonna run up against stuff you don't like, from time to time. But this is the commitment you've made. If you can't do that, then maybe this isn't the game for you. If that's the case, there's nothing wrong with it; not everything is for everyone. But if you want to play, then please PLAY, and don't have a hissy fit and disconnect.

Also: You don't improve unless you are facing adversity. You'll never get better if you just up and refuse to deal with hard situations.

    So no lobby dodging?

Yes winning, getting kill streaks, and making flashy plays isn’t the reason I buy CoD.

It’s to “ruin someone’s day” and be an “online bully” when the other player is literally buying it for the exact same reason I do and goes into each game knowing they can either win or lose.

You act like people are being forced into playing video games or something.

They're not forced to play, but I want to play and have fun. Instead, I get some Joe Schmoe every other day coming out of his way to be toxic.

  • It happens to me all the time.

  • @EvanSnowWolf said:

I refuse to blame the terrible behavior of people on game developers. Own up to your own bull#$!%, people.

The devs practically encourage toxic behavior by being silent on the issue, because those are the people who buy the game. An online bully simulator is more appealing than an actual multiplayer horror game. It's why a lot of people buy CoD, because they want to use the game to ruin someone's day.

  • @Withered8 said:

Right so even though killers at red ranks have a 65%+ kill/win rate, they are not the power role?

No they're not, and I refuse to believe that kill rate is legit. Maybe it would be a little justified if it's counting the entitled survivors killing themselves on hook or DCing.

  • @HollowsGrief said:

We laugh about it, but that's literally what some survivors think: Map generation is non-factor and if you lose as killer you're just bad.

Dude, Azarov's is widely recognised as a killer sided map.

I've never seen it that way. It has the most polarizing map design for both sides? Killer 3-gens, the survivors loss. Survivors split the map, killer loses. It's the only map I literally just want deleted.

  • Just tunnel then. If you get hit by DS, accept defeat and know that it was the game's poor design that gave the survivors the win.

  • I can never have chill games of Autohaven anymore. Too many strong loops with too much space between the gens. It's like they made every iteration of the map into Azarov's Resting Place.

  • @OniWantsYourMacaroni said:

Yeah, hit validation just doesn't seem to work at all.

    Sure it does.

  • @JimbusCrimbus said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1837204#Comment_1837204

That's not genrushing. That's just you not applying any map pressure.

Genrushing has one meaning, and one meaning only. All survivors, split on seperate gens, from the very beginning, and 2-3 gens popping by the time you down your first survivor. That is a genrush. Survivors "doing gens fast" is not genrushing. They're just doing their only objective because the killer isn't pressuring them off generators.

So yes, this is a question of your skill, and also your knowledge on the game itself.

And there goes my well thought-out paragraphs, because it took me away from the page. I don't care anymore. If you feel the need to belittle and question someone's competence to feel better about yourself, you do you.

  • We might as well play without gen defense. A good team can gen rush no matter what perks you brought. At least then, you're playing with 4 perks, instead of half your perks being Ruin/Undying that goes down in the first minute.

  • It can be 1 gen done each minute. I'd say the cut-off time where it stops being gen rush is, say, 5 gens in 7 minutes. I say that because chases are like 20-30 seconds minimum. But then there's also stuff like the game lasting longer, but the last 2 or 3 gens all pop within 45 seconds. If at least 1 person is on a gen at any time, it's pretty easy to pull off gen rush. You could also call it gen rush if you have stuff like Corrupt or Ruin and the gen speed is just as quick as without those perks.

  • You're forced, most of the time in EGC, to hook trade but the game robs you of it so you tunnel, and get DSed so they get a free escape no matter what you did. I'm not saying that's not tunneling, but it's forced tunneling, and not doing so allows them to get out anyway. It's a lose-lose, and anything that causes that in this game is poorly designed.

  • @JimbusCrimbus said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1837177#Comment_1837177

So basically, you're sitting here telling us that all you get are Seal-Team-6, 4-Man SWF death squads?

Okay there, bud. We call this "DSPGaming" syndrome. Where the person suffering it blames a loss in a game on everything and everyone else rather than their own skill, or lackthereof.

To be straight up - it is LITERALLY impossible that you, somehow, are the only one on planet earth being matchmade with that 1% of the community 100% of the time. Literally impossible.

I never said that. I go against top % sometimes, and other times they're not that good but they carried by gen rush. Never said I go against that all the time, especially since my post is about lobby dodging those teams.

  • @JimbusCrimbus said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1837165#Comment_1837165

Just stop - all you're attempting to do is create excuses for your loss.

99% of SWFs, even 4 mans, are LITERALLY just shooting the proverbial ######### with their friends. They aren't 4 man death squads. I'm not saying those squads don't exist, cause they do, and it's literally 1 out of every 40 to 50 games. Unless somehow, you're being funneled all the death squads via matchmaking (which you're not, by the way).

If you are playing your "hardest", and all you can come up with is "well they must be SWF, that's why I'm losing" when other killers are mopping the floor with SWF squads literally every minute the game exists, the issue isn't the SWF squads you're facing. The issue is you. Period.

You really do just need to get better at the video game.

This is not a question of my skill, like everyone makes it out to be. I get to rank 1 every season. I stay there, even with joke killers like Trapper. But there are some games I experience, at least a few times a day, that no player aside from a strong Nurse or Spirit could ever win. Maybe I could have won if I'd gone for the 4-man slug from start to finish, but how am I supposed to know ahead of time that's what's required?

Maybe I just play too fair for my own good. I hate getting hit by DS so I usually don't tunnel, but that's not good enough apparently because I can't stop the gens then. And there's no defending the gens with a low tier killer. Use Pop, Ruin, Corrupt or whatever you'd like, and SWF will blow through gens like your perks aren't even there. And people make it sound so easy when they say "Find the weak link." The weak link, in actual matches, never simply present themselves to you, and are usually carried by meta perks anyway.

So, I often find that my losses are due to things completely beyond my control, and that's the case when most red rank killers lose. Can I improve? Sure, but not by much. The game simply isn't balanced for good killers to win like they should. It's balanced around clueless, casual survivors who buy the game and drop it after 3 months.

I do it all the time. Sometimes I win, sometimes I lose. I mostly win. Stop acting like SWF's are the reason you lose. More times than not, it's because you didn't play well.

Well you can only play so well against SWF. They're capitalizing on every right or wrong move you make, whether you like it or not. You can go into specifics about countering SWF, but all it really boils down to is "Play harder". And I play my hardest regardless, and when that's not enough and I lose I get pissed off. I'm not going to waste my time getting pissed off, because I'd much rather have fun while I'm playing this game.

  • Ah, so you want to play against a 4-man SWF at rank 1? Be my guest.

  • What breathing? Oh you mean the thing that's supposed to be there but isn't most of the time, either because of Iron Will or sound bugs? And get off that high horse of "Stealth is dead!" because it is literally the best way to play. A killer comes to a gen y'all are working on, you hide, he can either get lucky and find you or waste 1 minute and leave not knowing if you're there or not. If he finds you, it's not as if stealth makes the player a bad looper, and you can waste even more of his time that way. And with Blendette you're invisible on most maps.

  • @Damarus said:

Another post on why DS is unfair for killers, huh? Well, you know, I have always despised that perk, and always refused to use it because I felt it was cheap, just like I still refuse to pick NoeD, for the same exact reason. But at least DS has a purpose, which still very rarely becomes a thing: "avoiding tunneling". As someone else already said, killers who get hit with a DS will almost always proceed to tunnel that same exact survivor, no matter what. It's just how things are, sadly. Still, there is a good solution to this. Remove DS from survivors and remove Bloodlust from killers. Done. No endless chases in which the killer gets you just because of Bloodlust. And if he gets to you, you will have wasted enough of his time (hopefully), but no DS will be there. Even tho I still think there should be a way to counter tunneling in some way, if it really needs to be a thing.

If you take away Bloodlust, normal loops become god loops. I've seen loops right now that are just a pallet and 2 long sides, and even with Bloodlust 3 it's unmindgameable once the pallet is down. I'm not even kidding. And I know tiles like killer shack are supposed to be that way, but that goes without saying. When all loops are god loops, no loops will be. In other words, any survivor will be able to take the killer on a long chase just by using a basic loop. And you may be asking, "Why not break the pallet?" because you do that 5 times and then the game is over. Breaking the pallet not only cancels 'the unbeatable Bloodlust' but also gives the survivor enough time to run to the next loop.

I played mostly Hillbilly when Bloodlust was disabled and it was insufferable. I could never use my power. Multiple times I said, "Bloodlust would have gotten me that hit."

That's why if Bloodlust gets taken away, loops need to become shorter.

  • @AbsolutelyAmel said:

Or you know, go after another survivor? It's really not that hard and costs nothing. Jfc

If you do that for every survivor it's a guaranteed loss. Hooking each person once, repeated 3 times is impossible to win with. You could try to just stick to 2 or 3 survivors and ignore the others, but who are we kidding? Smart survivors will force you to risk the DS, otherwise you don't have near enough pressure. Many games are unwinnable unless you slug everyone or 2-hook/1-hook someone, and that's the sad reality.

It's not 90 % the killer mains feel stress from killer, this is all I want keep our killer's strong upon release, and find away to either optimize console or find away to stop people from lag switching or whatever is causing the stutters to occur when survivor's are near you or when you enter chase. You start chase's but the entire time you've been lagging in a building the whole time ,I just want to be able to chase and hit someone,Now if my internet is bad then that's a whole different subject because then their just straight up lying to us.

Don't need to tell me twice. There would be dozens of optimization posts a day in these forums, which is why it's been given its own category, which conveniently hides it from us since we mostly view the general discussions. I've compared to the XCOM 2 console port in that since we're on console, we can't even do much in the way of lowering the graphics quality to make it run better. We're just stuck with this garbage frame rate, which begs the question: why do a console port at all if you're gonna make it play like garbage? The game can't even handle more than 1 thing happening at a time, in a game where multiple things are happening all the time. It's absolutely unacceptable. PS1 games run better.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1834283#Comment_1834283

If killer is that much easier now,why is the stress level the same?

I feel like that's more subjective though.

Most survivors you see in public matches are quite easy to beat imo, even without meta killers and loadout.

Against solos, yes. I can 4k with Trapper, easily, if it's solos. But with SWF it's like another game, because you play just as well as against the solos but the gens get knocked out in half the time. You're not gonna beat a 4 red rank SWF with just anything. You would need strong add-ons, perks, or killer and if you don't have any of those: oh well, you just lose. That's my issue with SWF, and this is coming from someone who plays in a red rank SWF.

  • They destroy killers when they give them such ######### add-ons. That's why nobody plays Hillbilly or Demogorgon. They have like 2 good add-ons and that's it. Hillbilly has more than that, but those would be the cooldown add-ons which shouldn't even be a thing because overheat is an unnecessary and poorly thought-out mechanic that nobody asked for.

  • It's just stupid when you look up at the sky and can't avoid the blind somehow, as if you're look-up rate gets locked or something. Or when you're the blinder and you can MIS-TIME the blind so that the killer doesn't drop the survivor, it's so stupid.

  • Yes, do a training mode. If it can be done for 1 platform, it can be done for all of them.

  • I wouldn't put it past the devs to do a comprehensive rework but knowing them, it's much too soon for that. I thought Victor would be a simple AI running around after survivors, but apparently that's too complex for now. If Freddy got that big of a rework, so can The Twins.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

Killer is the easiest it has ever been. Let alone that you are saying that DBD is a competitive game (it really isnt, it is a casual game, but some people seem to think it is next level e-sports) and are complaining that the most broken thing on the Killers side finally got nerfed.

That's such a cop out. "Killer is the easiest yet." Like that's supposed to say much. Of course it's easier when there's no pallet vacuums or infinites but, those changes were made because they made the game unplayable, not simply because it favored killers. If killer is that much easier now, why is the stress level the same?

  • With Nurse, you blink and miss over and over. With Hillbilly, you never get to use your chainsaw for downing. At least with Hillbilly, you can fix broken loops with Bamboozle. Both these killers suffer the worst from killer's bad fov.

  • Yes, and it's observable as to why. Put the top % killers and the top % survivors against each other and survivors will win at least 3/4 times. Here's a few reasons why:

-Nurse and Spirit are the only ones who do decently against any team. The rest are unviable at high level without meta perks.

-You can only deviate from the meta, and still win, against solos or weak SWFs.

-Tiles like killer shack and jungle gyms exist that waste guaranteed time, and can be used repeatedly if the survivor is greedy and doesn't drop the pallet.

-Gen regression is a must on pretty much every killer.

-Killer has a much higher learning curve and skill ceiling.

-The first person fov is SO BAD and limiting.

-Killer buffs are few and far between.

-Breakable walls were a Trojan Horse to reintroduce god loops.

    -SWF.

    -Survivor meta perks.

    -Keys and hatch.

    -Bad scratch marks and sounds.

-Free camouflage for Claudette and Adam, if they're wearing certain outfits.

    -Grab takeaways.

These barely scratch the surface. I could go on.

I agree but I ignore people like that. I still don't blame those Survivors that go out of their way to redeem their one-time limited use perk especially considering the fact that the bulk of killers really go out of their way to circumvent it. This compounds the problem further bc now people bring UB to help counter the circumvention employed by killers. And then killer players want to cry about how unfair things are.

DS is not 1-time use. Assuming you don't get 1-hooked or 2-hooked, you get 2 minutes, split into 2 1-minute bursts, where the killer can't pick you up. You get even more time if the killer isn't specifically counting down the seconds, and waits 10 more unnecessary seconds just to make sure they don't get hit by it.

  • @Sluzzy said:

But that's true of BBQ. It's the #1 killer perk and it is so ingrained in every survivor's mind that they have to play around it.

I almost never play around BBQ and I do fine. If the killer comes to me, so be it because he isn't on the other 3. It is so inconsequential to be spotted by BBQ, unless you're the last 2 survivors or on death hook or something.

"I don't care if you say you've 4k'd after taking 4 DSs, because that simply means you're went against absolute bot survivors and would have won anyway."

I don't disagree about a DS nerf, but by that logic you would have lost to those survivors without DS anyway?

Not at all. If DS was not a thing, assuming I'm not just tunneling, I wouldn't have to stop every time I downed someone and ask myself "Has it been long enough since they were last hooked?" I would not have to waste time by slugging or taking a stun for each survivor instead of hooking, but because DS is ran by almost all survivors, I have to do that. The mere possibility of DS forces you to waste that time or else suffer a stun.

  • @Mugombo said:

DS isn’t meant to have a counter, it is meant to be the counter to tunnelling

Yes but it also works against non-tunneling killers, and in scenarios where you have to tunnel them or else they get out the gate. A survivor is on a gen while injured and the killer is coming? No worries for them, because they're invincible for another 45 seconds. DS allows survivors to get away with such risky plays and you get hit by it even after you've hooked someone else, which is the definition of not tunneling.

  • @NotACompPlayer said:

I don't care if you say you've 4k'd after taking 4 DSs, because that simply means you're went against absolute bot survivors and would have won anyway.

yeah, this is literally every pub ever, there are nothing else besides bots, why are you complaining then if you said that ds doesn't matter when you verse bots?

You either aren't a red rank killer or you're just lucky. Half the time or more you'll be facing SWF. There are not bots a majority of the time, and you'll be lucky if you can even find a weak link.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Get rid of the DS and chase another survivor. If you find the survivor that DSed you later on it's a free tunnel if you need pressure.

And no, taking a 5 second stun is not the end of the world, especially at 5/4 gens.

I would be shocked to find myself in a game where I get hit by DS and ONLY 0 or 1 gens have been done. But like I said, unless you're against bots the stun will cost you a gen or 2 more.

  • @TheClownIsKing said:

You’re not meant to keep tunnelling whoever just stunned you, you’re meant to simply get rid of DS, and then resume pressuring the other survivors.

The goal is to make sure every survivor is very vulnerable by late game because none of them have their DS anymore.

Never in any match where I have been intentionally going after someone I see that was recently unhooked to eat their DS early game or mid game have I ever regretted it. Not once.

    Lucky you.

Killers in this game are actually handed way too much to do their job. It’s gross.

    I strongly disagree.

Why is slugging so popular? Because killers don't have enough time to get 12 hooks like they're supposed to. It takes around 12 seconds on average just to hook 1 person 1 time. Assuming that was the conclusion of a 20-30 second chase, a gen or 2 should almost be done, and that's if the 4th was just milling around.

Why do people use NOED even at red ranks? They know they'll get at least 1 instadown out of it, which they desperately needed because if they get gen rushed (5 gens in 5 minutes for example), it isn't likely that the survivors have been able to do that AND do all the totems, even though some teams can.

And why do so many killers complain on the forums? Because they have things to complain about. Let's not pretend that survivors don't have strong, or even OP, tools and strategies. High level survivors will simply stay injured so they can get an advance on gens, and that's how little they fear the killer. A lot of times those same survivors will have Adrenaline which is a devastating (for the killer) momentum perk that can single-handedly swing the outcome of the match. They also have DS which guarantees, for 3 minutes spread across the match, that the killer can't touch them. There's slugging them or leaving them alone, but neither of those are nearly as punishing as hooking would be. And the alternative is taking a 5-second stun that robs the killer of all their momentum. SWF gives too much information for free: info on which killer it is/where they are, info on what perks the other survivors have/where they are, when to rush gens, when to heal, etc.

You put all this stuff together in any combination, combined with keys and other broken mechanics, and you've got a completely survivor sided game. You might be able to deal with it all, because it sounds like you're just an insurmountable god. But if the game is balanced around the top 0.1% of killers that can actually push through all the survivor BS consistently, the game isn't balanced correctly.

1 … 176 177 178 179 180 … 198
