If anything, it would be Dead by Daylight showing up in Fortnite, and not the other way around. I can imagine Trapper and Wraith in Fortnite style already, just without the blood.
-
It happens to me at the exits, because a teammate will block the beam as I'm trying to blind the killer, and suddenly the flashlight points straight up towards the sky. I have to turn it off then back on to fix it.
-
I would suggest getting good with a killer or killers besides Freddy. Find the weak link of the team and hopefully get them out of the game quick. Retreat from strong loopers and tiles. Remember the exhaustion perks each survivor is running. If someone has used their DS already, feel free to tunnel them out of the game.
-
Just use Borrowed, Adrenaline, DS, and Unbreakable. I know they're sort of personal perks, but like I've said before having meta perks on and your team knowing that is a huge help. You can coordinate saves super easy, you can coordinate Adrenaline procks, abuse DS and Borrowed. It's just disgustingly easy to pull off a win in SWF when you have perks like those and play like that.
-
Garbage perks. Would never use. In desperate need of a change.

can you not use your eyes to see when there's thrill, dead hard, or sprint burst?
The point is that there's no notification for one side when there is one for the other. Survivors can see Sloppy, but killers can't see Botany. Survivors can see Devour Hope but killers can't see Borrowed.
-
It's yet another double standard. Killers can see DS but we already know that it's what caused the stun. Same with power struggle. But survivors see all kinds of killer perks, even ones that they shouldn't like Thrill of the Hunt. Imagine the outrage if killers got a notification when a survivor used Dead Hard or Sprint Burst in front of them.

Because she has PH syndrome
Meaning what?
-
Spirit is nothing when she's not phasing, worse than Clown even. I honestly don't know why people rank her so high.
-
Lots more cool killers and perks. Probably some quality of life changes along the way.

I don't really think looking at killers without add-ons is the way to go. If you run BBQ even somewhat regularly you can basically always be running greens and purples. Oni doesn't really get anything crazy add-on wise besides topknot.
But wraith has a ton of really fun stuff to use.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/7G3N4EUI3TDN/capture2-png.png
Silent bell wallhack wraith on an indoor map is amazing. And if the D hope goes off? 1 shots into mori's from complete stealth, from around corners. Disgusting. Way more powerful than Oni would be with 5 stacks.
But that's using purple and pink add-ons. Oni is just as good as that at base.
-
Mist offerings are now more useful to a killer than a mori.

Please understand that I’m saying this in kindness, and hope to help you, but this was probably your fault.
Killers need to stop being so frightened of DS earlier in the match, and intentionally try to eliminate it early so that survivors can’t use DS late game in the way you described.
I’m not advocating out right tunnelling, but what I do is if an unhook occurs in my face, or I see someone recently unhooked, i WILL down them again and pick them up because I want to see if they have DS and force them to waste it. If I get stunned, I don’t care, and just let them run off. I know it’s gone and that survivor is very vulnerable later. If they didn’t have DS? Well oops, they’re going on the hook anyway, but I won’t hardcore tunnel them after their next unhook.
But you get robbed of your momentum either way, earlier in the game or later. There's many scenarios where taking the DS early is what causes you to lose the game. You have no way of knowing whether or not you can afford to take the DS. I've advocated for giving an indicator for when someone has DS so you don't have to play around a perk that isn't even there, or taking the stun unnecessarily by assuming they're bluffing.

Just got max STBFL on DS but figured I would lose stacks on obsession. Yes you can shoot them but you reel them in and hit them with your Basic weapon. Figured DBD would take my stacks.
I didn't say you wouldn't lose stacks, you'd just lose less. Breaking the chain for an injure wastes a bit of time, but then you only have to lose 2 stacks instead of 4 to down them.
-
You'll have to be more careful next time. You have to wait until your character comes to a complete stop, and the desired prompt appears. I think that's how people get caught in exit gate traps too, because it auto aims/teleports you to opening the door and then you get trapped.

The audio cue may be a good idea but automatically consume tokens by holding the button is not, that will remove Leatherface's skill-ceiling.
The mechanic that Leatherface's player needs to press the power button to reset power duration is the main reason why he's different from Hillbilly and required skill to play now.
You better practice to memorize all the timings or just don't use the increased duration add-ons if you hate to memorize it, remember that Nurse existed and she has add-ons that can mess with the player's muscle memory.
What you call skill, I call a lot of extra work. I think the OP's idea of holding it down to consume more charges is as simple as it should have been in the first place. You exercise muscle memory just by playing killer.
Current Leatherface basically has killer skill checks, which is ridiculous. Imagine if Trapper or Huntress had to press a button as the survivor was about to get hit by their ability, or else the survivor just doesn't get hit by it. That's how silly timing the chainsaw charges is to me.
-
The title makes it sound like you want to buy out the company.
-
One of the most blatant things that stops DBD from being an AAA game is the awful fps problems, across its multiple ports. Other games get trash talked because they're running at 30 fps instead of 60, but to us DBD players they sound ungrateful. Without a good frame rate, you cannot even see what it is going on in the game. It is rage quit-worthy at some points.
I almost want to give up hope that console fps will ever be fixed, in which case cross-progression will become a top priority of mine. I cannot wait to move to PC where fps problems are not the norm.
-
Yeah they're just terrible. I can't believe they haven't been changed yet. I have an issue with how weak a lot of characters' perks are, but very few have 3 useless perks.

You're absolutely right, Moris are far much stronger.
My bad.
Wrong.
-
Spine Chill as an auto-include is more of a personal choice for me, but it's kind of annoying being forced to run DS, Borrowed, and Unbreakable on every character.
-
Still waiting for an Asylum remaster, but if it has to be pushed back for a new map to be made, so be it. But a better idea I had is that they could add maps (or at least variations of existing realms) for Blight/Twins later on, since they didn't get their own when they came out. I think the area from the Blight trailer would be amazing as a map.

But it's fun bullying the killer ...
Because it's a fantasy world. People don't have the nerve to act that way towards another person in real life. In DBD, they have to tools to play god with someone and suffer no repercussions. And unlike real sports, there is nobody telling them to be good sportsmen. Me maybe, but I get ridiculed for that, and then people wonder why this community is so toxic.

That's exactly what it means lol. If infinites and op tiles don't spawn killer definitely is easier. I also don't want them to spawn they were like we both said op. In pubs every killer is viable if the player is good. I fully believe that. Even the weaker killers because outside of tournaments survivors are just plain bad. The only thing that holds you back is the good rng for survivor and a few of the large maps and that's it. I feel like that you are exaggerating.
I'm not exaggerating. Red rank SWF or even good solos will wreck you if you're not running meta perks. What people look at too often is the result of the match, but it doesn't tell the story of the match. Say a SWF could easily get 3 people out, but they stay for the 1 that's left, and end up giving the killer a 3k. The killer didn't earn those kills necessarily, the survivors just threw the game. That's half the games (or more) that I win. If survivors weren't so greedy for the 4-man escape, killer's kill rates would plummet.
That's the reality because of too many strong tiles spawning, and survivors knowing how to run those tiles. Even a TL can be looped til the entity blocks a window, because the survivor is just that lucky at predicting which way the killer is gonna go. I've had it happen many times, which is why I retreat from TLs sometimes.
Now imagine how strong jungle gyms and god loops are in the hands of those survivors: unwinnable game. Killers depend on weak links, and when there is none like in a full red SWF, there's no winning. Maybe, with cheap tactics like slugging and forcing stage 2, can the killer win, and that's if they fall for those tactics.
I do win a lot, naturally, but I know it was because of a weak and uncoordinated survivor team. I've had an equal amount of games where I got stomped no matter how well I played.

More like someone who has never played solo's like ever lol.
Once upon a time I played solo. Now it's SWF or no survivor at all. Hatch is a band aid fix for this game's matchmaking problems, because you're never really gonna need it if you have decent teammates that get gens done and run the killer. And that's the problem, is that you consistently get matched with purple ranks who play like rank 20s, because rank matchmaking isn't a replacement for MMR.
And on top of helping solos escape because they had bad teammates, it's a bonus option for SWF because they can perfectly coordinate a key escape, leaving the killer in a lose-lose situation.
If hatch is based off of the possibility that you got bad teammates, I mean what kind of game are we playing? Do solos as well as non-solos need something like that consistently? It just needs to be fixed or gotten rid of, because I make no exaggeration when I say it is the root of many of this game's problems.

Oh I don't hear anything from the game this way lol but the visible ques and general game knowledge is enough to help me. Like I said I'm not out to "win" as killer but it sure is fun scaring the crap out of people :)
Don't get mad when you don't win then. You're handicapping yourself severely by taking away the element of sound. But honestly, Iron Will does that anyway. I remember when sounds were never bugged or anything and you could hear exactly where the survivors were through the walls and everything. Even Stridor doesn't fix it because then the survivors are too loud, and you can't tell specifically where they are.

Seriously. I just had a match where the survivors send me to Ormond, and were a swf group (Can confirm cause I messaged them) of 3. Then had 3 gens pop in less than 2 minutes cause they were all on one by themselves. I had a relatively fast down, but how am I supposed to put pressure on three gens while I'm in the middle of a chase, or better yet, even if I got to one of them after my first chase, how do I put pressure on two of them while chasing the second? They said I tunneled, and to be fair I did. But there was no other way I was gonna get a kill. I said, what you're doing is a little rude, then they said they were all laughing at me and to chill it's just a game. And I was a little tilted, but what could I have done? I was able to get the last two on their last hook, but of course they have borrowed, decisive, and were body blocking. I'm not sayoing every game is like this. But if they have the potential to do this, it just doesn't seem very fair.
Don't let those types of people get to you. They're pathetic, two-faced losers if they say "Hahaha! You're so bad!" and then in the next breath say "It's just a game, bro!" They're contradicting themselves just to make you mad. They cannot possibility believe in their minds "It's just a game" when they're using it to fuel their online bullying addiction. And they have no place talking about skill at all, yours or theirs, because they're using legalized cheating (SWF) and the strongest perks.
-
There's been many a game where I've had to face camp a survivor to salvage a single kill, and they end up getting away regardless. "How do you screw up a face camp? You just bait out the grab!" And that's the issue: it's not the player, but the game screwing up the grab. I literally see it cancel the grab animation, does a normal hit, and then everyone gets away because killers can be body blocked for some reason. The hook trade should be guaranteed in those situations, but because the server favored the server, you get nothing and they get a free escape. And don't even get me started on gen grab takeaways.

The chain flings backwards from the suddenly released tension and hits him in the face? I can't imagine getting slapped in the face with a large chain feels good.
That's the only thing that makes sense, but there's not an animation of that happening. So it looks as dumb as Legion getting stunned and pretty much blinded after frenzying.

While I want to get his Mad grit to use basement Trapper.
I don't run it in my basement Trapper build. I like having STBFL because at high stacks, the survivors can hardly escape the basement you're doing so many attacks.
-
The most obvious example is Stridor on Spirit. STBFL is good on killers like Deathslinger and Trapper, who can minimize lost stacks from hitting the obsession by using their power. Legion and Plague are good with Thanatophobia, because their powers excel at getting most/all of the survivors injured in a short amount of time.

Doing it this way I don't hear anything but the music I'm playing from my phone (earbuds) and my tv is turned down. It's the most fun I've ever had playing killer since I started about 7 month :)
But I've learned that killer is very sound-dependent, so wouldn't the survivors' footsteps and stuff be too quiet to be heard?

I would be happier if the devs took it away entirely.
So what if I don't escape, I don't care, I play for the chases and to get all others out.
The hatch is just some pity mechanic.
Oh you and your team F'ed up?
Don't you guys worry, you can still escape trough the hatch.
Ofcourse we can't have it where 4 survivors screw up as a team and not escaping now can we?
So dumb and well undeserved
Finally someone understands! A breath of fresh air!
-
Just because OP tiles and infinites don't spawn everywhere now doesn't mean killer has gotten easier. If you're playing Nurse or Spirit, sure it's easy. If you're playing Deathslinger or Pyramid Head and your aim is really on, sure it's easy. But beyond that it is anything but a cake walk, even with Ruin/Undying. I've tried playing without Ruin/Undying on someone like Demogorgon or Clown, using Corrupt/Pop for gen defense, and it is just miserable. If you aren't a killer that has insane map pressure, you're done for. Runaway gens will trump any amount of good chases you do, so you have to focus on the weak link of the team and actually *retreat* from the strong loopers/loops.
So no, aside from a few strong killers/builds, killer has never been and never will be easy.
-
Yes, I want 12-hook games. Way more fun than slugging everyone, or not doing that and getting no kills.
-
Even if we disagree, I understand what you're experiencing. I feel gaslighted too, because I see hatch as a dumb mechanic but nobody else does.
-
I've been accused of using aimbot because I landed a Huntress hatchet through corn.
-
Yes it's sad. If you're having fps issues before even getting into a match, something's seriously wrong with the game.
-
Make Kindred base kit.
-
Not in a million years. The precedent has already been set. Both sides have too many ridiculously strong things that they can toy with the other side with. Well, that was the case until moris got nerfed. Now it's a 1-sided game again.

Whatever dude. People play Clown and Twins, but it doesn't mean they're not terrible killers. Trapper desperately needs a buff, like being able to carry 2 traps at base.

I don't like it. If you want that, play Friday the 13th.

Another mori post. Another cry baby thread. Get over it! Oh no us killers didnt get to ruin hundreds of matchs in a week, how unfair. I have hundreds of moris on my killers and rarely care to use them because they make most matchs to easy. As survivor i rarely see moris anyways. Whats done is done, keep this bs mori crybaby stuff under 1 thread.
Maybe I'll start calling everyone who I disagree with crybabies and just call it a day. That seems to be the easier and more popular way of arguing.
-
Conceptually brilliant. But the multiple different attacks is too complicated for me.
-
It's funny, I made a discussion a while back with the exact same title. But yes, the last survivor's aura should be shown. I got a 4k depip the other day because people decided to hide as slugs for 4 minutes rather than let me hook them, even though the game was basically over anyway.

Whiny? No. Helpless? Yes. Play killer against a red rank SWF, with a low or mid tier killer. You'll see how helpless it feels.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/212741/the-mori-nerf-shows-a-double-standard
But... we did know? I wasn't around during instaheal changes, so presumably the type of changes and when were disclosed there, but the actual fact of a mori change has been a given for awhile now.
They even had that survey dedicated to the idea and many direct statements about the agenda. It's the same way we already know they're going to target keys next (even if not knowing specifically how). Also explains why people were upset that they didn't do both at once, with both always being tethered together in discussions.
Also my experience was actually that people already were using them up like crazy in anticipation of the changes. I'm pretty sure you can find posts on the forums with other people describing the same observation too of killlers dropping em like its hot for at least a month now.
Besides, they're still pretty useful IMO . That's how I always used them as a killer (with rare exceptions).
THOUGH this reminds me..
So, on the subject of knowing stuff and making efforts to act before those changes...
anyone out there wanna help me crank out the "WHERE DID THEY GO" achievement before the upcoming key nerf?
😧
That is not the kind of announcement I'm talking about. Of course we all heard they would "change" moris and keys but that is the most vague thing I've ever heard. It didn't give a time frame or any clue as to what kind of nerf they were making. It's just like when they said the locker-holding ability for Victor would be added sometime after the launch of The Twins' chapter. That didn't tell us anything.
And I must have been very lucky or something, because I didn't see any more moris than usual when the vague changes were hinted at. I've heard from multiple people that "Oh, it was horrible! There was a mori every match!" but that was not my experience when I played survivor.
