The fact that people actually listen to Tru3 and don't see how incredibly stupid he is, is hilarious to me. The man days the dumbest ######### I've ever heard and never has any good reasons for why he believes stuff. The man should never be taken seriously

And yet people take most of the posts on here serious.

You don't have to agree with tru3, but you can't deny he is good at the game. He explains how he likes to play and expresses his opinions. Whether you agree with him or not, he has a style of play that often works for him. You may not like his attitude, or wardrobe or whatever, but he IS successful at the game the way he is trying to play.

And yes i do agree with some of what he says. I also disagree. I don't think hes very entertaining but he is knowledgeable.

So flame me for being a tru3 apologist or whatever. I just don't understand the absolute hate that he is targeted with.

  • Its not a buff when you need to use other perks to make it useful. Ruin was annoying and needed a change. This, while i think is a good perk, is not ruin.

  • Because survivors are 80% of the player base.

  • I absolutely agree that in game comms is a great STEP towards finding a better balanced game.

Thing is, i made a post about how to encourage better teamwork in this game. I was told by at least half the responses and and @peanits that this isn't a team game. This is supposed to be 4 solo survivors working towards a common goal. They are under no obligation to give a damn about their nonteamates.

And i think that the whole mindset is what makes swf survival rates better, they are all an actual team.

Adding comms won't make people less selfish or more selfless. Most likely.

  • First thoughts, i like the new ruin. It is an interesting idea and maybe with surveillance would get a little bit of use. Not sure im on console so my opinion doesn't matter lol.

My problem with new ruin is the implementation. The only resemblance to the original is the fact that it is still a hex. A lit hex thats designed to be used late game. K. In reality it's like grabbing a Volkswagen bug and saying it's just like a tractor. Sure they both have wheels but....

I don't use ruin when i play killer but im only green rank. Yes ruin needed a rework. Both survivors and killers conplained about it for different reasons.

What they needed to do was make it an early game perk, like increase penalty for every survivor working on a gen at the same time or good skill checks not regressing, but missing a great check makes the entity block the generator for x seconds. With every 20 charges completed guranteeing a skill check. Or something that at least resembled the original in form or function.

What we got shouldnt be called ruin. I mean it should be what surge did.

Ive got 500 hours in the game. Maybe 250ish as survivor. I couldnt hit ruin checks at first. Now im better at hitting them. I didn't quit the game because i couldn't hit a skill check.

No one quits COD because they get destroyed furst thing. Or any other multiplayer game for that matter.

I don't understand why this game has to hold new players hands so much. Learning curve steep? Yes. Impossible? Not at all.

  • Need stronger killers that can deal with 4v1. Especially deal with comms where one early kill doesnt make the game actually winnable

This would make the Traps trash, no? They essentially become worse versions of Legion's power.

Yeah I just want piggy useful but you won't let me have my fantasies!

    1) Survivors have other ways to wake up besides the Alarm Clock.

    2) Survivors don't DIE if they don't reach the alarm clock in 45 seconds.

    3) Not true regarding chases. It is very simple to stand in front of a box and just look down so you don't trigger a chase.

Making more than one box active would make the Traps worthless as a stall tactic.

    Other survivors can remove headgear?

Make the box spawn random instead of farthest.

Traps put survivors in dying state with reduced bleed out timer?

  • @TAG said:

What stops the Pig from bodyblocking the box for 45 seconds?

What stops freddy from blocking alarm clocks? They dont know where the box is for the person going to use it. Also if they are body blocking then more then likely they are in a chase and timer isnt working anyway.

Maybe make more than 1 box active?

  • Combined with babysitter? You would never get tunneled lol.

  • So i decided last week to git gud with huntress. Not yet anyway but im learning.

    My build right now is

    Bbq for aura and bloodpoints

bitter murmer for aura and lets face it, huntress is so slow gens are going to pop

Iron maiden for faster reloads (will replace with corrupt intervention if i ever freaking get it in my webs) i dont run ruin so this helps somewhat

Shadowborn, the fov makes it seem like you are running like a normal killer speedwise. You aren't but I can't stand feeling like im a snail. My aim has actually gotten better with it, although that could just be the practice.

Just using the glove for reload right now. I like punishing myself i guess. But i may throw the exhaustion add on in at some point.

Couple of things, her hatchets arc so sometimes you have to aim higher than you think. Her hatchets dont hit dead center on your screen. Some objects have stupid hit boxes. And you can't throw through a window if you are right up against it.

  • @Razovar said:

I’ve just bought the game today but I’ve seen the thread saying it’s the hardest game for a new player. I don’t mind grinding to earn things but if it’s going to be completely unplayable is there any point?

    playing on PS4 btw.

The game is hard and frustrating at first. You won't be able to find generators. Ruin will feel like the mostoverpowered and obnoxious thing in the world. Spirit will grab you of gens, Myers will pop up out off nowhere and stare at you. You May throw your controller in rage and vow never to play again. But if you stick with it. You will learn. Every loss a learning tool. You will learn to dodge hatchets, hit great skill checks while puking your brains out, learn the God loops, to tbag killers at every pallet and window and then escape. And your downfall into addiction will be complete. You won't be able to stop playing.

You Will still get frustrated but you Will understand. There's no other game like dead by daylight. You will become a fog runner, as unable to leave the realm of the entity as much as the characters in the game.

Becomes a bit less impressive as most of those cross map hits are due to a bbq/chili read. The iridescent heads are rather strong since most huntresses will just run up close before trying to hit you anyway. The downside is one hatchet but most run with infantry belt, I've only ever encountered one huntress who only had one shot iri.

I never use them when I huntress - they're not very fun to me and definitely not to my target. Many people won't bother playing against that and it's understandable why.

To be fair, as prevalent as bbq is, if a survivor gets hit from across the map with a hatchet from an aura read, they deserve to be downed.

I'm learning huntress now, and the only add on I use is the yellow glove. Anything else messes with muscle memory. A good huntress doesn't really need add ons. She just needs good maps.

Hopefully complete all my survivors then I an actually go and P3 my favorite killers since I have all of their teachables already , except 2 of gf's because gf has crap perks and didn't care to do him lol

I'm all ears is actually a pretty good perk.

I'm on a mission to get every perk for huntress. Just started really so I still need about 50 webs. Hopefully wait times will be in my favor?

  • I think the problem with most slow down perks is they require the killer to have accomplished something. Outside of corrupt intervention and ruin, (maybe discordance) there are no perks to help the killer in the beginning of the game when most killers need the help the most.

  • Devotion 2 level 15 I think. Playing in xbox for about 6 months

  • Im tier 67. I will definitely get to 68 just for the laat 50 cells back. I may try for 70 but doubt ill play enough to grind it out.

I play solo on xbox and guess i was lucky as the challenges being complained about i was able to get easily, the dark sense and chest ones. The egc took me awhile as everyone who got hooked during end game were dead on hook or, no one would open the gates preferring to 99 them. I did derank for the flashlight challenge. I suck i know.

I farmed the trap challenges as i can't stand playing trapper. Im just not good. Managed to get my 5 hooks in basement with huntress of all people. On lerys. It was my last challenge and never thought I wpuld get it.

All in all the bloodpoints were a welcome bonus, especially for newer players. I figured out i need about 3 million more to max out my p1 huntress. Kinda insane to be honest.

What i would like to see is if you dc after completing a challenge then you don't get credit for that challenge. Yes unforseen circumstances may screw some people over but it shouldnt be too common.

Also as for challenges, the grind to 70 makes sense why we could only progress one challenge at a time. Its not designed to finish every challenge in 1 go and doing so leaves you with more of a grind at the end. However, instead of fun designs that are supposed to mimic the bloodwebs, id rather it be a circle with master challenges in a smaller circle inside. This way we can choose where we start our journey and possibly mitigate the chances of the entire player base working on the same things.

I loved not being forced to buy the pass at the start. I didn't know where i would end up so didnt really want to waste the money.

I definitely would love more perk challenges as using a perk you never used before sometimes reveals a hidden gem. (Empathy)

Final thought, as a first attempt i thought the system was good. I can overlook its flaws. I just hope they make the good parts better, or at least not screw them up, and change the bad parts.

  • Lagging skill checks/ got a better modem and router. Also on console if ping is red i dodge.

Tunneling/camping - not sure what you mean by not depipping. Doesn't happen very often to me so i deal with it.

Face camping - if im on hook i waste as much of the killers time as i can. If im not on hook i do gens as i never run borrowed time. If theres 2 or 3 of us left and we are all close to hook we may all run in and take a hit bit i solo so....

Getting farmed - mutter a curse and move on. Its just a game.

Mori, try not to get hooked and downed. If i do, hope it's in a spot where i can enjoy the show.

Oni- try to stay healthy. Hag, just lose. Hag is rough as a solo without ue. I just try to be smart in the way i play.

Mostly, i play survivor because i can mess around and have a less stressful time than as killer. Its a game. Im not really going to die if i get sacrificed.

Also best way to avoid being face camped and tunneled is to not tbag and flash light click.

I would LOVE Billy challenges. I love playing as and VSing Billy!

I can deal with Billy but ive always hated going against Wraith. Absolutely hate it. Especially since tru3 taught people how to play him. I can almost understand why people dc against certain killers. I never do, as i prefer to learn how to play better. But I've thought about it.

  • Capital Q on purpose?

Don't worry this archive is almost over. Be prepared for next one is either Wraith or billy.

  • I really like the perks. Although I can see the red strain one being too strong. They would probably make it a hex

  • Never played last year but I like this idea.

  • Im probably the only one, but Lost in Space chapter. Just started season 2 and theres an episode with an abandoned ship. It's silent and dark and creepy. Plus, killer robots and crap.

But predator for sure would be great, just not sure the whole swinging from tree to tree agility he has could be translated into dbd very well

  • Depends on the formula i guess. I mean ammonia and bleach mixed together would definitely incapacitate someone. As far as the cloud, thats mainly killer power like nurse.

To be fair almost all the killers can be realistic. Aside from spirit, hag, demo, plague, and ONI, if you remove powers then they are just regular people twisted by life circumstances.

That being said i completely get what you are saying about the historical accuracy of nurses back story.

  • The clown. Think about it. Serial killers take trophies quite often. Travelling to different cities week after week. The anonymity of the makeup. I'm actually surprised it's not entirely a true story.

If one survivor can carry that much then it's still proof survivors are too strong..its 1v4..therefore..each survivor should have no chance vs the killer alone at least not for long..the fact noob carried so hard shows survivors hold too much power as individuals by your very logic

Didn't noob3 have a friend with him who was there to make sure he escaped?

  • I think since you can only do 1 challenge at a time, then we should be able to choose whatever challenge we want. Not have a set starting point which almost guarantees everyone doing the same challenges at the same time.

As an aside, the one i worked the hardest to get was the end game unhook. Took me until i was 2 challenges away from finishing the 4th part. And even so, i don't see any problems with the grind. That's all this game is anyway. At least there was a goal to grind for

  • @28_stabs said:

Make the Legion like the Plague. Survivors stay broken or look for special meds. BUT meds have side effects:

    • Blidness
    • Bleeding
    • -25% movement speed
    • -50% repair speed
    • -100% tbag speed

    Tbag speed nerf.....awesome!

Cool then remove survive with friends. Like I don't want to go into that mindset that SWF should be removed, but if even the dev's themselves don't want to have killer be playable - then it's what's its going to need, because even as we discuss in this thread - Killers are quitting the game each and every game going against these people. Myself am going to take a break from the game until my friends join me and then i'm just going to play survivor till the game is fixed. I'm not the only one, because as a rank 1 survivor I seen - for myself. 4 Killers I faced yesterday, say they were quitting the game because the unbalance is ridiculous and i'm not even playing SWF.

I pretty much switched to survivor as it's less stressful. I don't know how to fix the game tbh. I don't envy the developers.

    Maybe a 2v6 or 2v8 base game would help. I don't know

  • Leatherface was one of the first characters I levelled and trapper was one of the last. It does seem like some perks show up more often though. I'm probably going to skip the challenge as half a million blood points is already way too much to spend for 60k bloodpoints lol.

  • I got very lucky for this. Think I was playing clown though I really don't remember. Grim pantry map. Got 3 of them. Last one went immersed. I closed hatch and had whispers guide me. Doors spawned near each other. Turned around person was just crouching behind me. Thought I was screwed because we couldn't have been farther from basement. But they didn't struggle at all.

This didn't start happening until about a month or 2 ago. And I havent really changed up my build, killer, or playstyle in that time, so it's getting frustrating

That Was about the time tru3 started show down ghostface I think.

  • Because apparently No one used slow down perks until tru3. And I think I read somewhere that tru3 actually created those perks and bhvr actually pay him royalties to use them.

He's a boring but knowledgeable streamer and his builds are effective. So obviously he's trash. And anyone who uses his perks are also trash. Just dbd player mentality.

  • I play on xbox and i hardly ever see a killer DC. I may just play 20 games and count the number of dcs per side just for kicks

  • @NullEXE said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/945648#Comment_945648

That has nothing to do with it. It's a Team game, people who quit because they don't want to play a team game - doesn't matter. Right now we have a problem that survivors are starting to be able to solo killers in a game where it should take 4 survivors to take on 1 killer. Then with the added the SWF straight up decimates any killer, and treats them poorly during game and post game because they get an entitled mindset through their handicap that BVHR allows them to have.

So even the playing field, and watch as this game suddenly starts to actually get more balanced.

Im not disagreeing with you. But, i posted a thread on how to make people realize its a team game and not a solo experience, and half the thread told me it's not even designed to be a team game but 4 people working towards a common goal. Even peanits said it wasn't a team game.

I personally don't agree but how do you argue with a dev about their own game?

Again i absolutely agree with you. Voice chat should be made standard. Survival points should be based off teamwork. But it's not. Its a solo game. So survivors should be able to 1v1 a killer anytime and anywhere.

  • @NullEXE said:

I'm a Killer main. There is a massive hole in balancing, and it's all because BHVR refuses to add the same tools for everyone to the game. I don't care if you think "but I don't want to listen to some 12 year old get mad at me all game over voice chat", or "Nobody will use it anyways". Thats the only point of tough luck that should be included when playing as a solo player in a game where you are expected to be a TEAM with 3 other people. I'm tired of getting steamrolled by a 4 man SWF because BHVR only balances the game for solo survivors who play like potatos because they don't have even a morsel of the information that gets tossed around in a 4 man swf game.

Once you give the same tools to all the survivors, then you can balance your game so that Killer is actually a power role, and not have this ridiculous game ruining divide between the solo survivors and the SWF's.

As much as I agree with this it should probably never happen. While i think bringing solos and groups with comms to a closer power level is most definitely needed. We can't just put comms in the game and buff killers to that level. Its remarkably clear that a huge base of the game would refuse to use the feature. What would end up happening is those people would get absolutely destroyed by stronger killers and probably quit. I don't know the solution. But forcing players to talk to each other will only cause more problems. Hell, even survivors hate each other sometimes

  • All survivors have to do is emote and crows will never show up. Yes survivors can still take the game hostage. It isnt as bad as it was before egc but all you have to do is find a corner of the map and point constantly. No crows. No progress. Yes you need 2 people. No its not common. Bit neither is morispamming.

A meme build I like to run on Leatherface sometimes is the “You no Touch my Items Build”

Perks needed: Franklin’s Demise, Insidious, and any other perks of your choice.

Basically you go in the basement and wait for a survivor to steal an item from your precious chest, then you smack them with a basic M1 and force them to drop the item and shake your head as they leave. It’s really really funny. Basically a counter to your build lol.

I tried this once at low ranks. After 2 minutes got bored. Ended up 4king. Baby survivors

  • Santas helper Dwight. (Elf skin mandatory)

Plunderers and ace in hole - find all sorts of goodies to give to your team

Leader to help your team do things quicker

Bond - find your team to gift them your items.

Burn the purple coin offering if possible.

Objective is to see how many people will accept your gifts. And if you see the killer give them some love too.

If you die, dont forget to messege the killer that Santa is upset and to expect coal.

  • I just think devs changed spirit so now we have a new target. You need to adapt your playstyle to the killer. You can't go into a game expecting to play the same regardless of the killer. That's why killers aren't just skins like survivors.

The best killers, the ones people complain about the most, are the ones that make survivors play the game differently. Your good survivors aren't the ones that can loop or hit ruin checks. The good survivors are the ones that know, hey don't be out in the open against myers or huntress. Someone getting hooked? Jump in a locker or change positioning on the generator to better block the incoming hatchet.

I die all the time to every killer out there. But as i learn the game more i understand more and know that yeah if im hit with a hatchet I'm screwed so better keep LOS broken or blocked with something.

And like someone said, if a huntress is in melee range with an iri head, then it's basically a billy but with only 3 chances at insta down max.

  • I hate hex perks in general. I get high risk high reward, but outside of brown and yellow ranks it's all risk no reward.

Make the perks a little weaker and remove the hex part.

Ruin - remove great skill checks

Lullaby - game long 3rd level or no noise notification for 60 seconds after being unhooked. I prefer the first one

3rd seal - no aura when on hook

Haunted ground - Survivors are exposed when within a certain range of dull totem. Most of which will spawn near generators

Devour hope - (my favorite perk) 2 hooks - mangled on hit, 4 hooks - aura blind when injured, 6 hooks - oblivious when injured, 8 hooks, mori when on death hook (not set in stone just ideas)

Thrill of the hunt - remove scratch marks get 100% more blood points at and of game

I would just prefer weaker perks that last all game or at last more than 20 seconds

  • huntress doesn't shower as she is one with nature. Maybe she licks herself clean? Or gets Tapp to search her for ticks?

    Doc would electrocute himself.

The girls from legion shower but Frank is too edgy for hygiene. To be fair I can't remember the other ones name.

    Freddy dreams himself clean

Plague isn't worthy log cleanliness anymore

    Ghostface hits the sauna

Trapper bathes in the blood of his kills

Wraith has never been seen near a shower

Pig uses the washroom in the meat plant

Hillbilly doesn't understand the words, clean, bath, bathe, water or soap

Bubba is actually a germaphobe which is why he kinda sucks. Afraid of dirt.

Oni washes in a river somewhere

Spirit is afraid the paparazzi will get nude pics so she stays away from showers

Nurse takes long hot showers to allow the steam to help open her sinuses

Myers can't until John carpenter writes the shower theme

Demogorgon uses an upscale mobile grooming service

Clown wipes himself off with a hanky

Hag just stands in the rain

  • @Starr43 said:

If Oni’s ability was unlimited by default then I think he could be considered stronger than Hillbilly.

Picture Hillbilly being able to shift left and right during his sprint...

I don’t have enough experience with The Oni to really have a valid opinion but I would love to see what it would be like to play a game with at least unlimited dash and collecting blood orbs enables the one hit bam bam.

Some games I’m trying out different perks but I take 10 steps and 3 gens are already done against a red rank squad. I’m crap using The Oni right now so with games like that I’m lucky if I even try out the dash a few time.

At least let me dash.. it doesn’t have to be an instant down but I think it would be a blast swerving through maps.

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of him. Though truth be told, i haven't really used him too much. He kind of feels like demo to me. Large loud and clunky. Like the devs said "stealth killers are too annoying. Lets make everyone else the complete and exact opposite out that!" I'm nor bashing him as i haven't played him enough.

No they are saying if you have to mori then mori.

  • Im on xbox. I dont play everyday. But sometimes i play for 3 to 4 hours. I have 4 challenges left to finish everything. As of this morning I'm tier 60.

If i do 1 tier a day I'll be fine. As it is i have both level 4 basement challenges, the hook obsession challenge and the third level unhook 1 during egc to complete. I probably wont get the basement ones and the egc thing has been getting the better of me.

I play solo 100% of the time. So yes these challenges are doable without coordination.

1 … 30 31 32 33 34 … 39
