  • Just got in. No reinstall

  • Also xbox support says they think they found the problem and are working to resolve it. That was 5 minutes ago

  • Was hoping it was dedicated servers tbh. Playing on ps4 feels better.

  • Maybe dedicated servers going live?

  • Oxford dictionary of the word strategy

'a plan of action or policy designed to achieve a major or overall aim'

Notice there is nothing concerning the effectiveness of the plan of action. Thus whatever a player decides as a course of action is their 'strategy'

You don't know the reasoning behind why a person gets face camped. It could be that gens are flying by and the killer wants 1 kill. Or the killer decides he doesnt like that particular cosmetic. Or he hates someone with Object of Obsession (guilty of tunneling those players with full knowledge im throwing the game).

You may not agree with the plan of action, but it is still the player's strategy.

And to be fair, many times a killer can camp and other survivors throw themselves at him trying to make a save. So saying camping doesn't work isn't always true. Especially around yellow/green ranks

They want statistics of how it works normally, not in a one game.

And they are going to do something about gen speeds, probably reduce speed slightly and nerf toolboxes

I mean they could just collect data on all the games that were played without ruin already. 55% of games across all ranks didn't include ruin. So maybe im stupid but i dont see why they need to change the perk to see why they need to change it

They weren't bad changes. The point was survivors adapted to them. Killers will adapt to the Ruin change as well.

No doubt they will. Im convinced though that the delivery of the change is what caused so much uproar. That and completely changing how the perk functions.

  • @baron said:

Survivors complained when self care got nerfed. Were told to adapt. The no heal meta was born and adrenaline got chose more. They adapted.

Survivors got pallet amounts nerfed. They got told to adapt. Pallet looping grew into an even bigger meta.

    Exhausion perks got....well.....exhausion.

Gen speeds were nerfed in the games first year by having 10 seconds added to completion at the same time hook sabo got nerfed. Tool boxes then got used mostly on gens. They adapted.

Something tells me killers will be and do just fine with the ruin changes. And no one that quits over it will be gone long. They rarely are.

So healing during killers successful attack animation was fair?

Being able to sabo every hook but basement and them not come back was fair?

Unlimited exhaustion perks, perks that are still incredibly strong, were fair?

12.5 seconds added to the game per survivor? The horror.

Every change you mentioned was to give the killer a chance to do his job against even a slightly competent survivor.

All ruin did was give the killer a small chance to prolong the game just a bit. A complete rng experience.

Yes, killers and survivors wanted it changed no denying that. What they did was give us a perk that shouldn't even be called ruin. It bears zero resemblence to the original. Doesn't even try to do what the original did. Doesn't address why so many killers took the gamble of running 3 perks all game. Name one other perk that got reworked in such a manner?

I dont use ruin as i hate the randomness of it. In fact I've pretty much switched to survivor because of how less stressful it is.

Tl;dr Survivor nerfs you talk about are balance issues that needed to happen for killers to be able to do their jobs. Ruin was a nerf that did nothing to address balance

  • I made a fan chapter of a pirate killer. In my mind it's awesome lol. Not sure if it translates well or not

  • Wraith. Always has been the most annoying to go against and i dont see that changing anytime soon

  • The backlash from the ruin change was twofold. The first part was normal for any change that occurs prior to actual game play. The 2nd part was what caused the most heated discussions. Many players felt slighted the way the announcement was written. Do you plan to at least try to look neutral in the future?

Samination predicted the cooldown eons before it came to be

That's because Samination is a God.

  • @Peanits said:

She has the potential to be very good when played well, although I'd still put a good Nurse above her for sure. There's a lot of tiles where you can't get LOS or mindgame for a hit, so your only option is to brute force it and become a bloodlust gamer. The Nurse doesn't care about any of that, she can blink right through it.

Nurse just auto loses to sprint burst and Los blockers. Her cooldowns need to go my friend.

I know, I can usually outplay them every time, but this specific player I'm telling you about lands EVERY freaking axe throw... I don't know man! It's just amazing! I guess he never plays any other killer, I'll get the GT tonight for you if you want

I play xbox and am trying to be better at huntress. Id like that gt.

    @xenofon13 said:

Hitboxtress is up there because of the horrible hitboxes. Huntress mains are hitbox abusers pretty much. No much skill required, hitboxes doing the job for you.

If they fix hatchet hitboxes (never gonna happen btw), no one will play huntress like nurse.

Hitboxes surrounding items on the map screw up more shots then hitboxes on players. Yes there are some bs hits, but you get that on m1 killers just as much.

  • @Almo

You can END all this vitriol and hate and frustration so easy.

All you have to do is answer these with the simplest of answers. No details. No nda legal issues. Just 1 word answers.

    1) Are map sizes getting looked at since certain maps make it near impossible to patrol gens for certain killers

    2) Are gen speeds getting looked at?

Simple yes/no answers could end this all.

Or, you could make a statement like

'Hello children of the fog. As you know we just passed our 3 year anniversary and are quickly inching towards our 4th.

Since the game's release we have made it a priority to adapt and make changes in an attempt to create the healthiest atmosphere for all players.

That being said the overall assymetrical nature of the game makes balancing difficult. But because we have the most dedicated and awesome community of players, we doggedly strive to maintain your approval.

However, sometimes, in an attempt to help the game we must make decisions that will greatly upset the player base. Nothing pains us more than knowing that players are going to be angry at our decisions.

We make these changes, not to upset, but as a precurser to future balance changes. Certain perks and features make overall balance, an already difficult task, nearly impossible.

Just know that while these changes are hard, they allow a better and brighter future for our dedicated players.

Thank you for sticking with us for so long and we look forward to seeing you all in the fog for years to come.'

Knowing there are relavent changes coming in the future would help the backlash now.

    Unless of course there isn't?

If you want keys to be removed then Moris should be removed to make it fair

Then remove outside comms from the game because it isn't fair. Honestly, just about every unbalanced thing in the game comes down to the amount of information coordinated teams have while using voice comms.

I understand not every swf team are sweaty try yards, whatever the hell that means, but just being able to say 'hey I'm being chased by shack' is insane. As a solo que when obsession is being chased i know I'm good.

Moris are needed since low ranked survivors just can't handle a group of decent survivors that somewhat know what to do in certain situations. Although I do think there should be a death hook clause or at the very least a timer that doesn't eun down if slugged. Like 60 seconds of protection or something.

Keys, i think are ok. I don't think an entire team should be allowed to jump through a hatch using a key found in a chest. Just my opinion.

  • I reported a post that was just a hate filled rant with some choice words that really weren't needed. The whole thread got removed.

  • Last night i chased a clown around while he was chasing someone else. Finally i ran into his smoke. He still ignored me. I had to literally get behind the survivor he was chasing to get him to follow me. Unfortunately the other survivor used all the pallets so i didn't last very long.

Had a daily to get chased for 2 minutes.

  • @KrazyAce13 said:

and if newbies are seeing ruin that much maybe they need to fix the damned matchmaking i barely see it in brown and yellow ranks as a survivor unless i get a swf with green or purples on my team.

The devs said that ruin is run in 80% of RED rank games and 45% across all games total. That means that basically ruin is run in only 10% of games not red ranks. Yes this is over generalization of numbers but that's the average for the numbers they gave.

So if the math is right, then either new players are going up against too many red ranks and matchmaking is completely busted, or they are playing with red ranked friends, or something else.

  • I love the map wide auras on empty. But bond probably is the betrer perk. I still like empthy better though.

  • Nemesis, pwyf, m&a, either slow down or tracking whichever you prefer. This only works with pinky finger so if you dont have one then forget it. Also play a few games to get used to bottle throws. They are weird sometimes.

Otherwise, i use bbq, bitter murmer/rancor/whispers/nurses, pop/thrilling tremers, m&a. I have problems finding people so i like tracking perks lol. Exhaustion bottles are good with m&a also.

  • It is inline with other hex perks now as not worth running.

And devour hope is my favorite perk in the game.

  • New BBQ

Being that BBQ and Chili is run in over 85% of games across all ranks and based on survivor feedback we have decided to make the following changes to both the perk and emblem system.

Bloodpoints gained towards sacrifice (devout?) Emblem are made zero until end game collapse has started. Survivors don't like getting hooked so we arranged the emblem to be more beneficial to them. Also, downing a survivor for more than 5 seconds results in a negative bloodpoint gain. If your total in game bloodpoint total is zero, we shall remove bloodpoints from your stored pool. Should that become zero we will charge a convenience fee of auric cells.

Bbq and Chili. Killers tend to receive more bloodpoints than survivor (despite there being 4 of them) and that is unfair. Now when you hook a survivor, that survivor receives 200% bonus bloodpoints and an apology email from the developer for making killers too op. Also, when bbq is equipped all hooks start broken except for the baaement hooks. Though the entity blocks the basement entrance for 5/10/15 minutes at start of trial. Everytime a generator is completed, one hook near that completed generator is repaired. To make it fair, all hooks are repaired when end game collapse is activated. Repaired hooks break after 1/2/3 seconds.

We feel these changes perform the same function just in a more fair and balanced way

    BHVR

Taking away killers ability to restart the queue time by lobby dodging has been the single best part of dedicated servers. We need more remedies to community toxicity like this in 2020.

How is a killer lobby dodging 'toxic'? Game hasn't started. He hasn't insulted anyone. We need to ban the word toxic.

  • Other games have done console to pc so they should be able to do it. Im just hoping for console to console soon. Though we'd have to get dedicated servers on xbox first

  • As survivor, purple ranks, on xbox in 3 months i think ive seen 3 or 4 mori. Last time I got killed was devour hope. Killer just snowballed before we could find the totem.

As killer, last time i used a mori was for a ghostface daily about 6 months ago. I do love devour hope though. Won't feel remourse if i get to kille people only because of that perk.

  • I think it should be basekit

  • Just finished a game where first person I found DC'd. I had all 3 others hooked before first gen popped. I ended up hooking each twice then just followed them around practicing hatchet throws. Let them all go. Usually just let last alive have hatch but I was feeling friendly and they weren't being stupid.

  • 0110201227.jpg

I really like the red outfit on huntress with the ram skull. Also the clean axe from rift is really nice

    0110201227a.jpg

The kimono is pretty and the oni mask is great. I just never play her

    0110201228.jpg

Always hope survivors would get distraced by the midriff. Glowing eyes since the outfit glows.

  • He needs to be able to get the faces of all the survivors. Not just the og 4

  • Playing hag on swamp. One of my first games as her. Wasn't used to the low camera. Was getting destroyed. Downed a meg. Last gen popped as i was shaking blood from my claw. Spent 20 to 30 seconds looking for downed meg only to realize adrenaline hit. I laughed until they all left.

Well, I feel the reason most of the survivor perks got nerfed was due to how easily they could abuse them. Killers and killer perk nerfs come down to how much they're used and how fun or un-fun they can be to play against. Not sure if I 100% with ruin change, kind of wish they would remove it as a totem perk. But who knows, maybe they'll come out with a more balanced perk that was kind of like old ruin. I just want to see more balanced maps to both sides instead of being one sided to either killer or survivor

I like new ruin, i just dont think it should be a hex, nor named ruin. Usually when perks get changed they maintain some semblance of the original. Also replacing a on early game perk with a late game perk makes zero sense to most killers, as most killers actively try to avoid getting to late game and need the most help early.

Also because this whole thread has gone completely off topic.....thank you killer mains!!!

You could even look at dark times part 1 and 2 by TydeTyme. Dead by daylight was a waaay darker place back then

Watched them too when i was trying to learn nore about the game. It was kind of crazy.

I play around 50/50 but i started as a killer so try as i might I know i am still somewhat killer sided. Mainly because I know what killers get pit through.

The nerfs to exhaustion perks, self care, +10 seconds to overall gen repair time. It seems like these were needed to make killer viable in the game. The alternative would have been to buff killer to insane levels.

Mettle of man was broken on release, most survivors will agree to that i believe.

And yes balanced landing got more of a sideways nerf then anything. No other exhaustion perk had continuous effects. It makes sense to me.

And sir when the fudge were you able to heal during the killer attack cooldown........... you do understand the killer attack cooldown is only a second or two. If you mean during chase's and while looping then yeah that still happens. But plz explain that lmao

    https://youtu.be/wV-0pZVfXHI

    2:19

Maybe glitch? I don't know but I read somewhere on here you could fully heal in like 4 seconds with selfcare

  • I know that most people run object for the attention but that crap triggers something in me. I will throw the game conpletely to make sure the person running object dies. Maybe its a character fault on my part? But seriously i do my best not to break the survivor rule book, but if i see someone has object, short of face camping, they are dead....if i can catch them.

  • Billys insta down makes it rough to pop also because you are hitting the survivor less when you use it. Killer emblems are trash. They create killers with base kit instadowns and then punish killers for using it. Also, mori without devour hope is like an instant black pip at most. Unless you wait until they are on death hook

  • I love spine chill. Yes it sucks against maybe doctor but it never doesn't give you good information. I suck at looping so i try to avoid it until i have to.

He gets hate because he says really outlandish things and can't defend them. He's horrendous at backing up his claims. He rarely gives good evidence, when he uses stats, he doesn't actually understand how to read and interpret what stats mean. If he were to take a philosophy class he would fail because he doesn't comprehend the basics of defending arguments and fallacies. He's a major reason as to why the playerbase is so naive to a lot of gameplay elements. I don't hate the guy himself, I hate that people see him as a really logical, brilliant guy when he isn't. If people just watched him because he was good at killer and entertaining, that wouldn't be problematic at all.

I personally have learned a great deal about this game from watching him. That being said i don't consider his word gospel. And this is honestly me just trying to understand. What has he said that you feel is so fundamentally wrong? Im 1000% not trying to start an argument. Im just trying to learn this game better, and he is one of the people who map out their gameplay and thought processes. Not all the time, but alot of the time. I watched one video where he ran a loop, mid game when not even being chased, just to show how strong it was. Then backed it up when the killer found him. It was nice from a student perspective.

  • Id really just like console to console as my daughter and i play different consoles. (Ps4 amd xbox)

  • In all honesty, they will put a cooldown on billy's sprint. Then give him a max range on how far he can run. Maybe increased TR while sprinting and decreased while walking?

Leatherface will get a complete rework like multiple survivor hits will just inflict deep wounds or something. They'll probably make his chainsaw glow really bright so insidious is useless on him. And then if he misses his chainsaw hits, he just sits down and cries or something.

  • Hillbilly will have to hit survivors to get gas for his chainsaw and then he can use his chainsaw sprint. But his gas tank springs a leak when he picks up a survivor so he has to hit people again......

Blood warden, Remember me, Rancor, Bitter Murmur and whispers are endgame perks with NOED.

If someone thinks NOED is op they are delusional, I had lot of games where all I needed to do is destroy the Hex and than it's easy getaway.

Also doing Totems is a strategy for preventing NOED from even appearing it's useless if you destroy all totems.

Borrowed time cancels insta down from noed, injured guy can Dead hard unhooked guy can sprint burst there's lot of diffrent ways to counter NOED.

    Anything else you didn't know?

I didn't say there werent other end game perks, just noed is arguably the strongest and triggers the most end game toxicity.

  • +10 for actual conversations! Thank you all!

  • @podkall said:

What makes people running endgame build bad? what if they are trying or just like the playstyle? I don't play it but someone might enjoy it I play survivor

There is nothing wrong with end game builds, yet the strongest end game perk, NOED, is considered the most hated trash killer perk and leads to so much toxicity from survivors. And I'd argue that any end game build that doesn't run NOED is not an end game build

Sir a true legend here with some actual facts. I'm so tired of these cry baby killers making red rank survivors seem like skill check gods and totem eaters. All those perks have been nerfed heavily but still need to get nerfed. Da fuq again really. Such facts.

Self care got nerfed because with the proper load out you could conpletely heal yourself during the killer attack cooldown

DS was more of a sideways nerf, as before the killer could dribble and make it not activate at all. Now it activates regardless while also granting a full minute of invincibility. You don't have to be 'tunneled'

Metal of man was purposely way over powered to sell a survivor. (Cash grab) and adjusted (too much). It also got a small buff, probably to where it was always intended to be from the start.

Balanced landing made certain maps unwinnable for many killers. The ones who could deal with it got nerfed (nurse, spirit)

Look at the reasoning for the nerfs. Look at it from a killers perspective when all 4 survivors are running these prenerf perks.

  • The 7s fall in the +/- 6 range bhvr said the matchmaking looks for.

But don't worry. They fixed matchmaking in the ptb. You won't notice any off the wall ranks anymore!

  • Kneejerk reactions. Every change has it's share. Issue here is that the majority of people that play killer used the perk.

A majority of killers, that have experiemce in the game, have been complaining about having to use ruin in the first place.

None of the reasons that killers have for using it got addressed. It feels like a slap in the face to all the people with legitimate feed back.

Ruin won't get changed during the ptb. Too much emotion. When things settle down more then maybe

1 … 29 30 31 32 33 … 39
