They could just do like the Japanese with their characters: More detailed profiles. Blood type, birth date, country of origin, etc. on a nice neat little list to go along with the lore. Granted, I've seen very few with sexual orientation, but it's an option for those who care and it doesn't necessarily impact the lore, plus we get other lore with it.
I agree though the best course is just treat the LGBT like they did the straight (or hey, bi/pan) characters -- it's a small tid bit. For instance with Jane, a lot of people's beef lye in the fact her lore seems to be pressing the issue of being latina. Personally don't have an issue with her lore, because feeling typecasted is a reality some celebrities face. We just don't have to have more characters like that. Keep it diverse.

My worst match ever today was when I decided to level Nurse. I only managed to hit 2 people. They were nice though. "You got really close a couple of times!" Like balm to the wounds. Sigh. I'm just gonna get a group together to practice eventually.

Some of these are really cool. I like the at deaths door concept. They need work for sure but yeah good start
Heres the forum post for anyone interested:
Damn that was well thought out.

You’re exactly right. Considering how long the shows been going for and how big the fan base is, it would surely make a lot of money for them and also bring in a slew of new players. (Especially since SPN never got its own video game. It would be pretty exciting to be able to play as them for the first time)
And considering the show is about to end next season, people are going to be missing it.
I'd toss all my money at a Castiel legendary skin too. My man.
-
I just don't understand why anyone would complain if they don't care. I don't see how it impacts anyone's gaming experience unless you're adverse to LGBT characters. I can understand wanting representation though if you're LGBT, because... Well there's a lot of articles out there floating around the internet about representation so you can look them up. Plus it helps BHVR make money from their queer players since they identify with them, and are more likely to purchase them or buy cosmetics. That's a win-win for everyone, because BHVR needs money to keep the game going.
Personally I didn't care before or now, really. And for the record I'm a member of the LGBT. If people are happy though, yay. If not, then I think I know what your problem is, and I still don't care, lol.
-
I've dreamed I was playing. In my dreams I was an expert looper... v.v;;
But nah, I haven't had nightmares. The only media that ever gave me nightmares was back in the day when Criminal Minds was really good. I had to stop watching it.
-
New to playing killer so I've only got four leveled. I love Doctor & Hag. High appreciation for Legion. I hate Bubba with the* passion of a thousand burning suns.
-
Perhaps this is why I enjoyed hag so much. I had about 320 hours into survivor before I touched her. Same could be said of Trapper though. You have to know where a survivor will go to make optimal use of your traps.

I don't see anything wrong with feedback, though this should be in the feedback section. I take part in many gaming forums, and most have rules against leaving posts unless they also offer valuable feedback -- and are also labeled as feedback. I think this one does everything but the latter. It's not a post just saying "game bad", it's a post explaining why it became bad for them and saying some things they'd like to see.
However like most leaving posts, OP should consider perhaps they are also burnt out as well. There is a solution for this too if you're on Steam: Check profiles with friend's list. I don't go against 3-4 man SWF teams because my experience has been bad with them as well.

I agree with you on this one. If I wanted to relieve stress by playing I have games like Rocket League, Borderlands and Destiny 2.
Rocket League. ♥ I suck at it, but it def lets you blow off steam. Lots of laughs and good yelling. Destruction Allstars from the PS5 premiere yesterday looks to be in the same vein. I thought it was gonna be RL2 at first.

I've been hating myself a lot since quarantine started. On most days, I just feel like garbage and I can't even bring myself to do school work. I'm starting to hate the people I'm stuck inside with, and they're my actual family...
Seriously, I'm just struggling to keep going, and honestly Dead By Daylight isn't exactly helping me. Maybe I should just take a break, play other games, and come back once quarantine is over, but right now I'm not having an amazing time in life, with or without DBD.
DBD is not a game I'd recommend for relieving stress, and I think people misconstrued escape = stress relief, lol. It's good for making you forget about your surroundings temporarily, but yeah this game probably isn't good for someone in your shoes.
Stardew Valley, Don't Starve Together, 100% Orange Juice, Sniper Elite -- these are good destressors. I hope you feel better man and find something that takes your mind off things.

You have to jump out. Not sure on Switch, but it should be holding the same button you use to run.

I am. I've not prestiged anyone yet, and it may as well be my all time favorite horror killer.

Took so look long! I'm so bad with flashlights. I kept bringing purple ones with pink and purple attachments and just couldn't figure it out. But finally I got 4 blinds! After ALL this time. 😊
Those tomes made me learn how to use a flashlight, which is harder than you'd think on a controller. 😆 The flashlight save one took me a day. I'm a better player for it though!
Grats!!!

I also have hunted achievements in WoW back in the day. It was a fun to because the game was pretty much just preparing for weekly raids with guild and doing dailies.
MMO achievements are so much fun. I use to do them for Wakfu (turn based MMO) with some friends. We were able to beat out a couple of groups for best in a couple of dungeons on the server. They weren't the Steam/PS4 kind though, just recorded in game.
DBD's achievements are mostly RNG happenings (like getting lucky with a basement party) or things you'd get playing normally. The only hard ones seem to be adept killers. I figure I'll go for them some day if I've done everything else, but that's a ways off.

This happened to me with CSGO. 4 years nonstop playing and rank meant everything. Got burnout, didn't play for a year, started playing again and it is fun again. Also stopping caring about rank took a lot of stress off.
Man, rank can be so frustrating. I was determined to get to rank 1 at least once before they change things over to the new MMR, and now that I have? I'm glad I don't have to care anymore, lol. I'm just an achievement hunter. I do wonder what they'll do with those achievements after the change, since I haven't even gotten to rank 10 on killer. 😆
But yeah fun is everything in a game. If you're not having it, what's the point?
-
Yep. Current events have me stressed, and I'm still on lock down, not to mention all the hubabaloo of life in general. I'm glad to have found DBD when I did back in Feb, because it's hard for me to find games where I want to throw myself into them. It has to meet a lot of factors to keep my interest like that. In fact, I originally just bought it so my husband and I could play. He's never been a big gamer, and it has been my mission to get him into something besides cards for years. It worked, and now I play survivor with him, and killer when he's not around.
-
In every multiplayer game I play for long periods of time, burn out is a problem. Of all the solutions I've seen, taking a break tends to be the one to work best. If you like a game enough, you'll eventually miss it and it'll be fun again. I've tried personally forcing myself to play things, but that just exasperates it.
-
Otz & Tru3 are probably my most watched. Best informative streamers & nice fellas. Tru3 gets a bad rep at times for being over confident, but he's probably the best big streamer at keeping up with his chat. I like that neither of them shout a lot either, which turns me off of a lot of creators.
GhoulBagel initially got me into DBD. She's a great survivor main.
Elix9 & his community are just sweethearts. I don't get to watch him a lot due to the times he streams, but he's hilarious. #1 hag main.
-
When I play survivor, I get a lot of nice messages, not counting your basic GG's. When I play killer, I get cussed out a lot, win or lose, even after giving them props. Starting to think killer mains are sado-maso's.
-
You do what you want! They did, so why can't you?
-
Everything with killer. Mind gaming and aim largely! It's going to take me a while.
On survivor I don't think I'm a bad looper, but I could do better.
-
I was literally just saying in another thread I don't feel like you need the meta for survivor. I've never ran a full meta build and I don't think doing so would increase my success rate by a large margin. It's too much fun to mess around with various combinations.
-
The thing I like best about survivor is I don't feel the need to use meta builds all the time. In fact, I've never ran a full meta build load out, because I don't have a character with every major meta perk yet. There's just so many combinations and it makes it quite fun, and I don't think it would largely impact my success rate to do so. The two not mentioned in this thread I like a lot though is Off the Record & Camaraderie. Both have saved my bum from campers / tunnelers quite a few times, though I've never ran them together.
On killer, I've just started leveling them so I'm not sure yet. So far though I feel like I have to run meta perks.
-
My first couple of hours in this game was lots of screaming and being afraid, lol. It's an absolute riot to start this game with someone. The thing that took me longest to figure out was the longer you spend afraid, the less you get done. Still, there was a lot of fun in the fear.
I also use to pair exhaustion perks together until I was taught what exhaustion was. 🤦♀️ Lithe and Head On together can really wig a killer out though!

I don't have anybody to play the game with so I usually just play solo que or killer.
Join the DBD Discord if you feel comfortable enough to play with others, or even one of the bigger named streamer's Discords. Lots of folks don't mind playing and making friends. Switching sides for a bit might perk you up.
I feel for you because I find the only thing that helps with game burn out is taking a break. I tend to drop games for months at a time and go focus on something else until it can catch my fancy again, if it does. Just remember that if you're not having fun, a game isn't worth it anymore.
-
Gotta third (fourth?) Adrenalin. I realize how good it can be exactly once per game, but its so niche. I can think of many perks not considered meta I'd rather take.
-
Grats! You're one dapper fella.

Bruh it’s different to play to win I get that I’m talking about going against someone not even trying to kill you and just rushing everything leaving and teabagging that’s a dick move and you are one if you believe that is ok it’s literally a character no one but some pc players have played but go ahead let people be like that I’ll as I said torment them hook them tunnel them cage them tunnel again torment and Mori gg
If you make it clear you want to farm so you can test the killer out, a lot of survivors are fine with that. For PC players though, yeah they had a chance to test everything out during the BETA. No reason to do that unless you missed it for* some reason, because I had plenty of matches where we just goofed around.
However, if you go at survivors like a regular match, expect a regular match.

There is nothing wrong with trying your hardest to win in a videogame.
Yeah, this. The new "sweaty" or "try hard" thing is getting old. It's a game, everyone wants to win, and there's nothing wrong with doing it as efficiently as possible.
-
Yeah I do totems when I see them, might open a box. I run Detective's often. Just depends though. Someone might need a heal, a save, a protection hit, and so on.
It does annoy me when people complain about NOED and didn't bother helping with totems. If you see them, break them.
-
Got 90%. I should probably brush up on lore. 🤦♀️
-
Yeah every now and then is alright. Especially when I've had a very difficult challenge and the killer cooperates with it. Like Mooky said though, it's mostly a nice break.
-
Interesting thread. I do believe there is skill in DBD. The more knowledge you have about everything, the better you are for it. Skill synergy, map spawns, killer plays, survivor plays, mind gaming, and so on. There's a lot to learn, and some people just have a more natural inclination for mind gaming even, which gives them an edge.
Esports calibur? No. Granted, I've not been apart of any Esports communities besides Rocket League, which is a very different game. There's just no way to define skill in it's totality here. A lot of it is getting lucky, where as people in Rocket League train for thousands of hours to have a better feel for the controls and make insane plays you can't do without that training.
I will say though I think DBD is one of the most entertaining games to watch because of how random it is. I don't like watching people play most video games for long periods of time, but DBD is a strong exception. It's fun.
And of course all games are as competitive as you make them. I'm not a card shark, but I can make Go Fish competitive if I'm in the mood, lol.
-
I bought everything while it was on sale, so I use it for extra BP. I feel like it's more wasteful for me to spend them on something I would eventually unlock anyway since I'm a bit of a completionist. When I first joined I did buy Head On though because I was impatient!

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaahhh no, I'm 90% certain that's not how that works. In fact I'm 95% certain.
Steve and Nancy are wearing clothes referential to another piece of media, which is entirely fair use, it's not like the characters Tom Cruise and Rebecca De Mornay acted as actually showed up. Steve isn't even wearing the exact clothes Tom Cruise wore, Cruise wore a Grey Wool Blazer and Jeans:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/929QSCU21M53/image.png
You can make references to something without actually infringing on copyrights or licenses.
Hey, I hope you're right. Again, Nancy needs something cute besides a "sad cupcake sweater." Cheers.

I only +rep booper pigs. 1.) Because they're adorable credits to their species, and 2.) Because I have a very cute piggy emote.

I don't think clothes are licensed properties. You can't license a look, or style of fashion, much less clothing pieces like sunglasses or white skirts and black bow.
True, partly, but in the show it's obvious what they were dressing up as, and by putting it in the game, it would follow that same logic I'd assume. I'm not gonna pretend I know a lot about licensing though.
-
Since Risky Business is a licensed property though in itself, I wonder if that would conflict some how???
I'd love that outfit for Nancy though.
(and a redesign for the way the she stands but I guess that's another topic.) -
...\m/... sad guitar rift
-
Petty people would also block legitimately good players though. I'd block streamers. I respect what they do, just don't wanna be a part of it. But yeah that solution would bring about more problems.

Watch net TV so I can pause it between. Vape. Bathroom. Grab a drink or snack. Annoy the cat. Annoy the husband. Forums. Reddit. Discord.

If it's done I'd leave it and keep your fingers crossed. Steam can ban for third party programs that cheat either their systems or game systems, as well as BHVR if they see fit. Just don't mess with it further.
-
I'm glad it keeps getting brought up honestly. Something needs to be done, because as a new player, it's intimidating. The math from "The Massive Grind" thread by DelsKibara says a lot. I'd link it but the forums have been odd about quotes and links lately. Anyway, I've played Korean MMOs that take less time to reach end game, and those games are notoriously nothing but 90% grind. Here's hoping BHVR listens, as it will only get worse with each new chapter.
-
Rank matters to a degree. It's not the be all, end all in determining skill, for many reasons, but escape rate can say a lot. Especially for solo players.
I love Legion. ♥ He gets a bad rep, but he's fun -- gotta go fast.
-
I'm a cosmetics person, so I mostly disagree. However, recolors in rifts kind of bug me. Feels cheap, and they should just stick to those being in the basic shop.
Still sad BHVR is against dances, but considering how much people hate tooshie bopping already, I get it, lol. I'd like to see old charms and outfits revisited in the shops as well, though I believe it's confirmed for outfits at least. More mori options would be grand, because some currently are rather lack luster.
Anyway, BHVR's gotta make money. Cosmetics sell. The more money they make, the better longevity the game has.
-
Okay but seriously:
Is there some kind of testing going on with the MMR today? Because now I'm getting nothing but red and purples.
-
I think it's great you messaged, and that maybe you're even thinking about talking to him more. However, do use caution! You mentioned you're in high school, so you're still pretty young. Depression can wreak havoc, and a lot of times people can pull others down with them. I've been on both ends of it. Even with extreme depression like you mentioned in your teen years, there's a comparable difference when it's in adulthood. So, if they sound a lot older than you, I'd just do what Peanits recommended. You handled this really well though and its heart warming to see you cared when a lot of others wouldn't. Stay safe.
-
I wonder if it's something in the air today? I just made a thread about this, lol. And I think someone else made an even more detailed post about mismatched match making.
Edit: You destroyed them though, GG. 👌
-
Yeah I had posted before I seen your video pop up. It made some really good points. Back to sweating profusely I suppose, lol.
