It was obvious that the penalties wouldn't fix anything. You can't force people to play if they don't want to.
As for why they disconnect, probably because someone hates playing against spirit (no surprise there) so they disconnect and the others just do the same because there is no point in playing a 3v1 match, especially against spirit. I would also do the same sometimes (before the penalties ofc) if someone disconnected right at the beginning.

Survivors : Nea, Feng, Kate, Dwight, David
Killers : Huntress, Hillbilly, Myers, Demogorgon, Doctor
Deathslinger can potentially replace one but I am not sure yet.
-
Agreed. It definitely feels like they were trying to cater to killers by "nerfing" survivors with this dumb change.
They could have only made this change work by cutting the amount of addons survivors have like in half or something and that's actually not hard to do because there are so many useless addons. Like there are 13 flashlight addons and only 4 of them are actually useful and worth your bloodpoints. 6 of them also basically don't do anything, there is no point of having them in the game.

And may I ask exactly where all of you were during the launch of his re-work? Because very few people seemed to be complaining at the time.
But regardless, the general survivor consensus is that Freddy is no longer fun to verse. I, however, see little reason to support this claim. For example;
Stuff that you have to keep track of against Freddy
- Your sleep timer
One of the most important things to keep track of. As long as you're awake Freddy has effectively no power. This makes him completely unique in that his potential is determined by the survivor's decisions.
- Dream snares/pallets
With snares, it's more about trying to get into the Freddy's head and predict where he's going to place them. Since the threat of snares often shuts down a loop, this means that survivors have to plan where they are going during a chase way ahead in advance.
And with pallets it's just another thing to memorize in the map, like pallet locations and loops.
- Freddy's position
Another obvious but still important factor. Since Freddy can teleport and falling asleep means losing the ability to tell how close he his, survivors have to actually use their eyes and tell where he is coming from. This also encourages learning the layout of maps and generator spawns.
So tell me, people who find Freddy boring, how exactly is keeping track of 3x the factors than a normal killer would offer somehow make Freddy brain dead to play?
Because I can certainly tell you that when I play Freddy "just spamming snares and teleports" isn't a viable way to play him.
What is exactly "fun" in this list? Just because you have many things to keep track of doesn't make him any more enjoyable for me at all. The only fun part of the game is chases and I don't consider getting chased by him fun.
The counterplay of snares is basically drop the pallet early in most cases. So enjoyable right?
Dream pallets are braindead easy to use and luck based (for the most part) when going against. Not enjoyable.
There are also many small things that irritate me like how borrowed time is a wasted perk slot against him and how he can get free gen slowdown without doing anything.
The skill required to play him mostly comes from playing M1 killers in general, nothing specific to freddy.
I never found him enjoyable to go against but after playing against that Old Ruin/PGTW/Thanataphobia + Slowdown addons build so many times, I just despise going against him even though that build doesn't exist anymore. It just made me realize how boring he really was.
-
Timer going back to 0 is too extreme in my opinion.
I think it would be fair if it went down twice as fast if you are working on a generator.
-
He could use small buffs but nothing too crazy. He isn't bad at all in his current state
-
" for example you mind game the survivor and they run straight into you, NOPE you’re not allowed to hit me because I pressed a button that allows me to simply avoid all damage, dash forward and extend the chase even longer even though I screwed up but the killer has to pay for my mistakes."
Except you can easily bait this as killer, it's really not that hard to do. They will waste their dead hard if you just wait for a bit. This doesn't even work most of the time because of dedicated servers.
Dead Hard is strong because you can make distance with it and make it to windows and pallets you wouldn't have otherwise.
Also, sprint burst is the best exhaustion perk in the hands of a really good survivor.
-
Where is the favouring survivors part in this? You sound like the devs are specifically not trying to fix these issues to please survivors.
They can't do it so often. Punishments will increase quickly because they don't decrease every day (afaik at least).
And why do you care so much if they do this? You already won the game.
-
If mori spamming gets removed then why not?
-
Do people seriously think toolboxes got buffed?
-
Pretty sure this sort of mori spamming is bannable

Well, a lot of the map is dead space, but you also always have the shack and there's usually a few good jungle gyms close by. All of that just seems secondary because the main building is so ridiculously strong.
Yeah but those tiles are placed towards the edge of the map. You have stuff to use in either the main building or towards the edges of the map, the area between those is basically a dead zone. I can't really blame anyone for running to the main building for that reason.
-
The thing is, that map is basically forcing survivors to go to the main building because there is almost nothing to use in the area surrounding the main building.
-
Probably hillbilly.
I would also say huntress but some maps are just horrible for her.

Shack isn't even a super strong structure though? Shouldn't take you more than 15 to 20 seconds tops to force them to throw the pallet down. Demo, Huntress, Nurse, Spirit, Clown and now Deathslinger don't give a ######### about shack either
But it's the KiLlEr ShAcK so it has to be killer sided!!!
Seriously though , people want every loop to be braindead easy to counter I guess. Shack has been around since launch and people still don't know how to run that loop correctly.
Freddy and hillbilly should be on your list as well.
-
I would be okay with it if survivors had less addons, or at least more useful addons. There are way too many worthless addons right now.

thx this helped. at first i thought this was a joke xD
I thought it was a joke as well when I saw Garbage collection settings lol

You can fix this by doing the following: In the engine.ini file replace the following [/Script/Engine.RendererOverrideSettings]
with
[/Script/Engine.GarbageCollectionSettings]
-
I found this on the internet but I'm not at home yet so I can't test it. Can anyone confirm that this works?

Him disturbing crows is literally going to make 0 difference.
-
Are you guys really surprised by this? Those numbers were pretty insane on the ptb.
-
Yes, don't rely on faulty game mechanics and actually hit the survivors. It's barely even a nerf and it should have been fixed a long time ago. Don't make such a big deal out of it.

Swamp maps followed closely by Yamaoka Estate maps

As long as they're removing the breakable wall at shack I'm fine with it.
Seriously that breakable wall was so dumb and I hope it's gone. If it isn't I'm still not gonna break it out of spite.
There is a breakable wall even on L and T walls so I wouldn't get my hopes up.
-
This community is hopeless lmao
-
I would just make it so that DS doesn't activate if you get grabbed and the timer goes down twice as fast if you are working on a generator.
-
Would be pretty cool, even just a recolor would be nice but ranks aren't going to matter soon so there's no point in adding them now.
-
I despise both Pale Rose and Grim Pantry, but especially Pale Rose makes me depressed. Don't really know why I hate them so much.
-
They sound great in my opinion but of course, can't say for sure without testing them first. It's definitely the sort of rework I want for his addons though.
-
You can get hit during the dead hard animation as well, happened to me multiple times.
It's because of the amazing dedicated servers, I'm pretty sure they can fix it if they wanted to but who knows how long that would take. There are so many issues like this in the game for months and they haven't been fixed yet.
-
Huntress, Hillbilly and Nurse
@ALostPuppy Where did you hear about the hatchet changes?
-
I'm pretty sure it's because survivors can't have weapons on them according to the lore but yeah it would be really cool.

But there was an addendum for the above 50% kill rate.
As I had said:
Japanese BHVR employee told us that the reason the kill rates are so high is that the chart only tooked the killers rank into consideration and did NOT take survivor's ranks into considerationLacking that context completely changes the... well, context of the stats, especially again, at a time where yellow rank survivors were being thrown into red rank killers, as well as the SWF changes.
I don't think it would be much different if it was red rank survivors only, they play like rank 15's these days anyway.
Stats won't mean anything at the moment because rank doesn't mean skill. If the stats were somehow calculated with good survivors vs good killers then maybe. I highly doubt the new MMR system will work well but maybe then the stats will mean something.
As for the topic, I'm pretty sure the queue times are long because there are way too many survivors playing in red ranks, especially with the swf changes. It's no coincidence that the queue times got longer right when that change happened so stop with the "nobody plays killer anymore" bs already.
-
The main problem has always been the map design rather than gen speeds. Some maps are way too big, god loops still exist, very strong tiles can spawn next to each other etc.
Once maps are fixed, they need to tweak certain perks, items and addons (for both sides) and then the game will be somewhat balanced in my opinion.

Dead Hard is one of the more balanced abilities in the game because the Killer has to swing. Whether or not you get faked out is your fault
Dead hard is strong because you can make distance with it and make it to windows or pallets you wouldn't otherwise.
Dodging hits with it doesn't work most of the time because of dedicated servers and killers can bait it easily , no matter how good the survivor is. I am not good at killer and even I can do that.
-
There is basically no reason to keep the walls up in their current state, but it could be interesting if that changes.
-
Or the killer easily baits the dead hard and the survivor goes down anyway.
Not a good replacement at all.
-
I do think that the game has some serious balancing issues (mainly because of map design), but other than that I absolutely agree. I haven't been active here much recently, just because of all the overly dramatic and victimizing posts.
-
"I automatically think so much less of you as a person"
Imagine thinking like that because someone is using a perk in a videogame.
-
Survivor also have to deal with bs hits all the time (that's not really a bug but still), it happens pretty much every match to me.
-
I personally find those salt messages just really funny. It can get pretty annoying at times but I honestly don't really care that much.
I actually allow everyone to comment on my steam profile just to see the salt messages. Just today, I got this beautiful comment:
-rep camper and tunneling no play with you before toxic with coronavirus
-
Matchmaking is also broken on PC, not just consoles.
-
I would say the constant complaining about Spirit got her nerfed pretty quickly. People were right to complain and that was a very reasonable nerf though.
Complaints about the Forever Freddy build also got those addons nerfed pretty quickly but once again, that was a very reasonable nerf.
People will probably also say ruin, but the majority of survivors didn't complain about ruin.
-
Yamaoka Estate Maps (including the latest map) and the Swamp Maps
-
You guys literally keep picking the worst examples to prove your points.
-
I don't think he is braindead to play as but he does require a lot less skill compared to other killers.
Here's a tip for going against him: If he's using snares, don't be greedy at loops and don't be afraid to drop pallets early. He can end loops pretty quickly so dropping pallets early is pretty much the best thing you can do in loops unfortunately.
-
It would be one of the worst perks in the game without the distance boost, especially since you can't really use it to dodge hits with dedicated servers.
-
I'm sure they aren't that different since the average survivor is still really bad, even in red ranks.
-
Don't worry. I'm sure they will give us more perks for that, which will totally solve the problem.
-
It was the old legion for me, it made me want to quit the game because it removed skill from both sides.
Now the next one is going to be an unpopular opinion but the breakable walls are also potentially one of the most boring changes in their current state, in my opinion. It seems like they want to add them to every loop (there is one even on L and T walls). There is no reason not to break them and it makes the windows useless once they are broken, removing skill from the game once again. That is absolutely not how you balance the maps.
