No, not everyone has to like all killers and a lot of players find certain killers boring in this game. Instead of making up some weird excuses about that, maybe you can just accept that their power is just not very interesting for some people? Plus, your last sentence doesn't make any sense. 1v1 is the most fun part and escaping is related to the 1v4 aspect.
If this many people complain about a killer being unfun maybe it is actually something to be looked at, don't you think? Regardless if you like that killer or not.

If I was playing a twitch style fps, old school kinda fps then I would understand but......it's DBD?
People keep saying good killers dont miss, how about this - good survivors dont need 360's. You have pallets and vaults. Just get good at chases and you won't need 360's so much. Hell you don't even need to last that long in a chase to win the game.
I don't think it's too hard to counter them, even for a game like DBD. I learned how to avoid them a long, long time ago when I was bad at the game still.
Yes, good survivors don't need 360ing but so what if they have the chance to do them still? There's no need to cater to new players constantly, which they've been doing for a while. The turning animations affect way more things than just spinning, the movement can't be the same when they're there.

This coming from someone who thinks twiddling their mouse to spin around like a helicopter in game is high skill gameplay.
And this is coming from someone who thinks its so hard to hit a survivor who is twiddling their mouse.
I've made the best decision today by visiting here, the salt is too good

It's interesting that you think it's somehow reliable to force a 50/50 on nurse who's blinks at close distance to pallets are faster the survivor's animation. You might get lucky but in the end it's the same case of killer favored mindgame as is with slinger and PH.
At that point, you can counter deathslinger by making a 50/50 prediction via abusing his slow movement. Each time he has LOS on you and you're about to turn a cornet, you get a chance to force a 50/50. He either has to aim and shoot directly at you running around the corner or fake/shoot next to you if you'd decide sidestep. He doesn't have time for both so he's forced to predict which happens all the time during a match, it isn't a rare ocassion.
I didn't say it was reliable, I just said it's an option if you don't have anything else you can do and you'd be surprised by how often pallets can save you.
I don't see how there is a "prediction" against slinger. If you're going against a good deathslinger, you're not predicting or juking anything since they can pull off insta ADS shots reliably. You have to play super safe and drop pallets.

Nurse is also horrible and stressful to play as. (aka not fun)
How many nurse players do you see vs other killers?
I have tried to just hook and run with her but she is so slow at traversing the map and survivors with E to outplay are all 3 hit downs that the only way to play her against good survivors is slugging.
Even otz was stressed out while trying to get 50 wins as nurse and couldn't.
I see quite many nurse players. Most of them are not good though. Nurse is hard to learn (as she should be) but once you do, she is fun.
If you struggle to win too often with Nurse then you are simply not that good as her. She is one of the best killers in the game. Otz is also not that experienced with Nurse from what I know and seriously, if you expect 50 wins in a row to be an easy and non stressful task then that's your problem.

No, I'm not putting them on the same level.
I am describing the situation people use to say "Pyramid Head is boring because lose-lose" (i.e. you want to vault a window but Pyramid holds his M2 and if you don't vault he M1s) and compared that situation to Demogorgon (vault and you get the M2 hit, don't vault and you get the M1 hit / lose-lose).
Why is that situation "boring and cheap" as Pyramid Head but "fun and fair" as Demogorgon ?
Because if you drop a pallet in a demo's face he still has to break them. If you compare windows only they might seem the same but that's not really the case.

I disagree about Nurse. Have you ever faced a Knockout/Infectious Nurse?
She is by far the most annoying killer in the game in my opinion as she literally makes anything useless. Distance, windows, pallets, even perks that grant you free distance like Sprint Burst and even Decisive Strike as she can instantly down you again after the stun and even elevations (had a Knockout/Infectious Nurse on Midwich who slugged between the first and second floor). Absolutely no chance to play a normal match solo.
I hate her from the bottom of my heart and think no killer should ever be designed like her again regardless of the skill requirement. She is literally like an offline game character. Perfectly balanced if the enemies were NPCs.
Nurse with a slugging build is really boring, I agree with that. Thankfully it's not something that's common when I play.
I disagree about much of the rest though. Distance is VERY important against nurse, losing LOS and making as much distance as possible is one of the best plays you can do. I don't really get why people are saying pallets are useless against Nurse either because they can be used against her. If you're at a pallet when the nurse is about to use her second blink, you are pretty much forcing her to make a 50/50 decision about which side you're going to drop the pallet from.
I share similar opinions about Spirit (especially the last paragraph lol) but I don't really have that many problems with Nurse after she's been nerfed.

survivors find the killer having control boring while the killer finds survivors having control boring.
That's not always the case. Many killers such as Nurse have way more control over chases and they are very fun to go against. Killers can be both powerful and fun, it's just BHVR's incompetence at designing both fun to go against and fun to play as killers.

I don't really mean to start an argument but they do have different playstyles. Due to their strong chase powers you need so gain as much distance for mindgaming as possible, once you are close, odds for killer winning the mindgame increase a lot. With normal M1 killer, the distance doesn't matter half as much, same with LOS.
There's a huge diffrence between chasing a survivor who knows how slinger's/PH's power works and does his best to playa around it, compared to someone who has no idea and just does the basic M1 loops.
Chases vs them are risky, require predictions and favor the killer but with some luck and a lot of thinking, you can outplay them for quite a while even if they're good.
Yes many killers do require different playstyles but deathslinger's "different playstyle" is dropping pallets instantly which is a boring playstyle like I said and it doesn't require you to do much of the things you learned about the game. What you described first is the case with every killer (making distance etc.) You can't really do anything on tiles against him besides pre dropping pallets because he can shoot you over pretty much every pallet loop. There is no "mindgaming" or juking either because he can insta ADS and shoot, leaving you no time to react to anything. If a deathslinger keeps missing, it's not because you are "juking" him, he is just playing bad. What you do against him is just hold M1 efficiently and get out since he is not a very powerful killer.
Pyramid head is not nearly as boring as Deathslinger in my opinion and there are way more things you can do against him but there are still those annoying situations I mentioned which can make him feel really cheap. If they actually changed that like they said they were going to then he would have no issues.
Deathslinger is one of the worst killers, probably equal with Spirit , when it comes to being boring as hell. He is hated by a lot of players at this point and it's not because he is "too powerful" or anything like that.

Did you ever think that survivors playstyle may be SUPER MEGA BORING to the killer?
Ok and what does this have to do with anything I said just now? Changing the topic is basically saying that I'm right.
-
Your point makes no sense. There is no "different playstyle" against deathslinger unless you count stealth but you could say that against any killer in the game. If you are going against a good deathslinger, there is nothing you can do besides dropping pallets instantly which is a super boring play style and doesn't require any skill to pull off.
As for pyramid head, dodging his attacks is fun but the problem is that, his ability doesn't have any punishment for cancelling it (no, they did not change this like they said they were going to. you can still instantly M1 after cancelling) so his gameplay has a lot of just, drop pallet and get hit by his power or don't drop pallet and then get hit by his M1 attack anyway. There is nothing you can do in these situations and it feels super cheap.
But all the evil entitled survivors just want to have easy matches right?

Am I misunderstanding something? From my understanding, FOV increases horizontal vision. Stretched res does both horizontal and vertical but the benefit of stretched res comes from its increased vertical vision, making you able to see over loops. Not horizontal.
FOV and POV aren't the same thing. Stretched res' benefit comes from POV (vertical). For example Blight is getting his POV changed, making it higher, thus increased vertically. His FOV is not being increased to make it wider (horizontal); it is becoming taller (vertical).
Correct me if I'm wrong.
Stretched res only increases vertical FOV and no, it does not allow you to see over loops unless you are playing at a really weird resolution like 1024x1024 which pretty much no one uses.
I strongly agree that there should be FOV slider for both sides, to the point where it doesn't break the game of course. Current FOV is too low for today's standarts and I'm sure there are many players who feel uncomfortable playing with this FOV, especially as killer.

So if 360’s dont work against good killers.....why are survivors screaming and crying to have them back? ;) there must be a reason why people would be fighting so hard to have a pointless feature back, no?
Because while 360ing is not that effective at lunge hits, it is still more useful while dodging hatchet hits, billy's chainsaw, oni's hits and some other stuff but guess what? If the killer is really good then they can hit anyway. The turning changes affect more than just spinning. It makes survivor movement way less smooth and just more sluggish in general.
It's skill based gameplay on both sides so it should stay. BHVR has already been driving away their veteran survivor players by releasing killers with little to no skillful counters (biggest example is deathslinger), this is just going to make more people leave. If most veteran survivor players are saying the changes are bad, then they are bad. They know the game way more than BHVR at this point.

There is plenty to exploit about aim dressing. It literally forced your screen and swing in a direction instead of where you want to aim. It’s a bad system that should never have been in the game.
Those situations where aim dressing causes you to miss aren't that common and it usually happens during regular lunge hits, not when a survivor is 360ing. I can't remember the last time when I got 360d due to that (or when I last got 360d in general because like I said, it's extremely easy to counter).
I understand what you mean anyway but using the word "exploit" suggests that survivors are doing something specific to cause aim dressing to mess up your hits which isn't the case at all. Aim dressing happens at mostly random.

you say this but survivors have been crying about 360'ing the past few weeks so jokes on you.
If you're caught in a dead zone you're MEANT to go down. How hard is this to understand? as survivor you have pallets and vaults to defend yourself with, and stealth. If you get seen, and you're out in the open, you go down. That's how the game is designed. Survivors just want it where they have an escape chance at every single opportunity.
People aying they don't work against good killers isn't the point. Most survivors only want them so they can make a "sick" montage of inexperienced killers whiffing 20 hits in a row as the survivor circles round and round like a helicopter. Not enough killers in the game, queue times horrendous, but lets stop new players from wanting to continue playing the game sure makes sense.
If you are in a dead zone, you should go down anyway because good killers don't really get 360'd :). Your point makes no sense because you said it yourself that 360ing doesn't work against good killers.
Nobody really makes those montages anymore unless they seriously just derank to rank 20. I've seen even rank 15 killers that know how to deal with 360ing.
-
I am so pissed rn like I can't believe that I actually thought they would fix this in 4.5.1. Won't make that mistake again for sure.
I can deal with everything else in this patch but this is just unacceptable. Not to mention that there is both the event and the rift going on right now, both are timed and survivor is STILL unplayable.

@Yamaoka said:

Killers can say the same about spinning survivors. They should learn how to loop instead of relying on exploiting aim dressing and fps drops that allow them to teleport out of the killer's pov.
There is nothing to "exploit" about aim dressing. If 360ing is hard to counter on consoles then they should focus on fixing it on there instead of getting rid of it entirely. If you get 360'd as a PC killer then it is %100 your fault.
-
You should consider getting better instead of whining about super easy stuff to counter.
-
I've had enough of them releasing broken stuff and I will certainly think twice before giving them any more of my money in the future. Get your act together BHVR, this should have been detected before the patch and if not, it should have been fixed immediately, not in several weeks. I'm convinced you don't even have a QA team at this point.

The lack of movement is either a bug or something people just "feel" is different and will have to get used too.
The animation change is purely cosmetic and should not affect gameplay unless a bug is involved. Which will get patched if it is indeed a bug.
No, it's not just a "feeling". The difference in the movement is caused by the new turning animations they added and unless they're willing to remove them or change them, it's not going to be the same. Knowing the devs though, they will probably keep saying that the gameplay is the same and won't touch them for a long time. They also seriously messed up either the hitboxes or how hits appear on survivors' perspective and it's quite irritating to play survivor just because of that.
-
It's not that rare, it seems to be a bug that came with hit validation. Happened to me twice just this week. Only seems to happen during unhooking.

so you are saying he's 'unfun' because some people know how to play him?
Your comment makes no sense. No, he's unfun because you can't do anything skillful to counter a good deathslinger. There is pretty much nothing you can do besides just dropping pallets instantly (which is boring) except some certain loops like I said before.
You can't really juke him with his insta ADS and how fast his shot goes. If you don't get shot against a deathslinger, it's usually because he messed up, not because you actually juked him.
He has insane zoning ability because he can constantly spam M2 and you'll either try to juke by going left and right, allowing him to close the distance between you and let him M1 you or go straight and get shot anyway.
If you still can't see why he's boring then I don't what to tell you. People explained this so many times already.

no. just spine chill and use your eyes.
Seriously, Deathslinger's counterplay is by all means the same as Myers... or are you usually the survivor who boosts Myers to T3 before the first gen pops?
That's not how that works in many maps and please stop saying "just use x perk" already.
The counterplay to a good deathslinger is dropping safe pallets instantly without attempting any sort of mindgames (even then he can potentially hit you with good addons on some loops) or using your skill anywhere with the exception of some certain pallet loops. Really fun right?

There are far more killers that need help... pig, wraith, myers, trapper, legion, clown, etc etc...
Playing these killers in red ranks are absolute nightmare, especially against SWF.. this is one of the reason why you don't see them in higher ranks.
IMO the problem with these killers are far more important than just a spirit. If you are complaining spirit because you see her all the day, then buffing these killers will definitely help it in this case.
Going against a good spirit with stridor + other good perks and addons is also a nightmare and has pretty much zero counter play.
Yes, a lot of killers need help. Does that make spirit a non issue? No, it doesn't.
Buffing other killers won't decrease the amount of spirit killers that much because they will never be as powerful as spirit. People will still play as her a lot because she requires way less skill compared to other killers (to become really good at).
So how about we don't ignore any of the problems and ask them to buff the weak ones and nerf/change the broken or annoying ones? Ignoring spirit just because other killers are weak is just being biased.

My winning isn't the point. But continue to enable this mentality.
How is this "enabling the mentality" exactly? There is no stopping this mentality, you will always run into people like this, in any online game out there. Just learn to deal with it and move on.
-
Yeah, I agree with pretty much all of this. I don't think NOED is overpowered but I do think that it's a poorly designed perk.
Cleansing totems on solo queue is just not worth it unless you have a build for it (which is also dumb). Just focus on gens and deal with it after it's active.
-
Why does it matter if it's realistic or not? There are way more unrealistic things than that but those are fine right?
It's a game, and it's a multiplayer one so if you expect to feel like a killer in movies and stuff you're not going to get that in this game unless you go against baby survivors. DBD stops being a horror game after 10 hours at max.
They are also really easy to counter (at least on PC) so seriously, just learn how to counter them.

Yeah, if they don't fix this or turn it off soon they will lose a lot of new players. That is also the reason I will not be playing that much for now, I am constantly getting matched with new players. I seriously had like only 1 match so far where all players were actually experienced.

To my knowledge in not doing anything toxic, I never camp or tunnel can't imagine what is be doing to being this. One thing I do is if I'm in a loop I can't seem to break or if a survivor tries to bait me I just go find another survivor. But I can't imagine that's considered toxic.
I'm not saying you were toxic, some survivors just play the game to annoy others so they don't need any excuse to do this kind of stuff. Just try not to care about stuff like this too much, it's just a game after all.

I know they did early activation on one of the consoles, but I think it was only put into effect recently for most systems. I know that personally I've been running into more easier matches since the announcement and I'm a PC player.
I don't think you understood what I was saying so I'll just put the quote from a dev:
MMR ratings didn't start at a default if you were already playing in the last couple of months and somehow the results are terrible.
-
Spirit, Freddy, Deathslinger, Pyramid Head. All of them are really boring in chases.
-
I just played against a killer that was playing his first match ever and I genuinely felt really bad. A player with almost 2k hours should never be matched with people like that.
-
Stuff like this is exactly why I think a MMR system would never work well in a game like this. You just can't accurately determine skill without watching the player yourself.
-
Free hits for points. I don't taunt unless the killer was toxic and if you are really getting bothered by this so much then I'd say part of the problem is also yourself. If you really hate it just hit them and force them to leave or just don't go near the gates.
-
Except they already said that this system was rating players before it was activated (for months) so I see no justification for how bad it is right now. I played a lot before it was activated and after it was activated and I just recently went against a killer that was playing his first match ever.
-
"Second, the skill level between players is considerably diverse, meaning you will meet 1-2 bad team mates at most. This works perfect for both sides in my opinion and is the epitome of "balance"."
I really hope this is satire because that's not "balance" whatsoever.
-
That's not really "abusing the game mechanics" but yeah, you should play however you want. Nobody really cares about the other side's enjoyment anymore so you shouldn't care that much either. This doesn't mean you should camp every survivor or anything like that but don't be afraid to play a bit dirty to win.
