Really dont see how its any different though than survivors joining SWFs groups from around the globe. Was playing the other day with a guy from Germany while I myself live in the US. The game allows me to invite him into my SWF squad and that would surely lead to the killer having some...interesting experiences on at least one of us depending on which region the game managed to pull the killer from.
Like @Doddle28 said, If you play on other regions as survivor, the high ping will mostly be a disadvantage for you. Killer on the other hand is the opposite, having high ping gives you an advantage.
-
It's seriously one of the dumbest challenges ever. I tried for like 5 hours and I still can't get it. The game map is probably the best map to get it though so for the first time I'll choose to go to that horrible map.

Does BHVR consider it cheating? I’ve never seen them actually say this, and it isn’t listed as a bannable offence anywhere as far as I know. If they do I’ll start recording and reporting.
From what I've heard, playing on other regions just to get an advantage is bannable. Playing on the same region with a VPN is not.

He is talking about the Windows Store version of the game, I don't think DBD was in the Windows Store when Legacy was a thing. Pretty sure it's hacked.
My answer was actually for the last sentence lol but I realized people would understand it as the answer for the title so I changed it
-
Yeah, I'd say they are definitely hacked.
-
Dbd's characters models actually look quite decent with good lighting but sadly dbd's lighting is pretty poor. The new graphical updates look very promising though and it will probably make the characters look a lot better.

You can't say SWF isn't a problem because it's a small % then immediately go and say there are SWF that destroy the balance of the game and the best thing to do is 'suck it up'
Yeah no. They've taken advantage of the game mechanics and are trying to ruin someone elses experience. That ######### should be a priority. I've had a few friends turn away from this game because it's so extremely toxic even at new ranks. That. Is. A. Problem.
What do you mean by "ruin someone elses experience"? Does going against a really good team ruin someones experience? If so then a good solo team can do the exact same thing.
If you are talking about bming in general then that's just how online games are. I don't think they're going to remove teabagging or anything.
The actual problem is how strong a team of 4 amazing survivors can be, regardless if they're playing swf or not, and when you add stuff like keys on top of that it becomes a nightmare. People keep blaming that on swf for some reason and this problem is starting to going away with the map reworks.

Does an advantage not cause you to be "better" in this context?
So many times in these threads it feels like people want to have the fastest car, but then claim that it would never help them win a race.
I don't fault people for wanting every advantage they can reasonably get, but when they consistently deny that they're doing so it's just mind-boggling. I mean, you don't see me running a perk and then saying, "Pft, well, it doesn't do anything!"
No one is denying the advantage of SWF but a lot of times people just use that as the reason why they lost, even if they played bad in that match or if they simply got outplayed. I guarantee you that most of the time those complaining about SWF would have still lost to that team even if those people weren't communicating.
-
Or you could try getting better at the game
I'm pretty sure you would have lost to that same team even if they weren't communicating.
-
Could say the same about killers. I get tunneled with an ebony mori quite often on the ptb.
-
The " recover fully from the dying state when cursed by a hex" part sounds more overpowered to me than the endurance effect.

You'll only be able to use it when they:
- Have Torment.
- Are on death hook.
So at best, you might save yourself a trip to a hook or avoid DS once.
Oh that's such a relief lol. I misunderstood it as "on the dying state" on the stream
-
The idea of adding moris to the basekit sounds extremely overpowered and I really wonder how they're actually going to be able to make that balanced.
EDIT: Nevermind I didn't understand how his power actually works
-
I really like Pyramid Head as a killer but his ability sounds pretty annoying. Really hate the idea of moris being a part of the basekit.

I honestly think the last perk that blocks gens is going to be used against Pop goes the Weasel.
Yeah but if the killer isn't using that perk it's pretty much going to be a wasted perk slot so it sounds extremely situational. Can't see it being used at all.

I'm going to have to call a massive amount of BS on the "lack of interaction/chases" bit. Based purely on the fact that the only killers people tend to complain about being "boring" are the ones that are actually effective in chases. Deathslinger, Freddy, Huntress, Oni, Spirit etc.
You NEVER hear the same sentiments echoed about Clown, Wraith or Leatherface. Nobody has an issue with those for some reason. Maybe this isn't the case for you, but this is observable with much of the survivor player base. Even in the content creator field. From Puppers to ANGRYPUG, they all consistently complain about the same killers as being "boring" when the only key difference between them and other killers is that they have anti-loop mechanics.
"boring" is just code for "effective"
I guess you're half right. They can't lead certain killers on a 3 gen chase, therefore, no chase potential, and "boring".
Not really, I also find LF and clown to be boring as hell. They just don't effect me that much because they are very rarely played. Also, I didn't see a single person call huntress boring. Don't confuse annoying hits with being boring.
Being effective in chases doesn't suddenly make killers enjoyable. Freddy's chase interaction for example is literally dropping the pallet early when you are in the dream world (no mindgames or actually showing your skill). If you find that fun, good for you but you should understand why others would not like that gameplay.
Survivors aren't some evil beings that just want to bully killers and boring does not mean being strong. The killer bias in these forums are truly amazing sometimes.
-
I agree with all of them except maybe the Game. I would rework that map so that it has a lot more windows to use and reduce the amount of pallets it has drastically.
I also want to see Shelter Woods and Blood Lodge reworked.
Shelter Woods loves spawning huge deadzones and giving just L and T walls instead of any jungle gyms.
Blood Lodge is full of safe pallets in the middle area. I would reduce the size of that map and spawn 1-2 tiles in the middle and remove a lot of those pallets there.
Hawkins is also too killer sided but that map would require a huge rework to fix the issues so I don't think they would give it a rework , at least for a while.
-
No, it literally means they find them boring.
Everyone is allowed to have opinions, not just killers :)
-
Queue times got longer just when the matchmaking and rank reset changes happened. Survivor queue times went from seconds to minutes right when that patch came out for me.Nurse also got nerfed in that update but obviously a ton of killers didn't just quit because of that.
People love to use this to fit their narrative but it is not an evidence at all, I agree. There are way too many survivors playing in red ranks at the moment because of rank reset changes, even the most boosted survivors stay there and low rank survivors also play in red ranks because of swf matchmaking changes. As a result, survivor queues got longer and if I'm not mistaken, low rank killer queue times are also very high because a lot of survivors that should be in those ranks are playing at red ranks.
-
When all 3 of my teammates go down while trying to save me from a camping killer. Happened to me so many times today.
-
When did this start happening? I am also having high ping issues at the moment, it started happening like an hour ago.
-
DBD looks like UE3 game so I'd prefer it if they actually brought it up to UE4 standarts first lol

I can see why they force it on. This game isn't supposed to look that clear. It's all about the fog, and larger displays and expensive hardware would have a significant advantage during play.
I'm against disabling AA after seeing the immense clarity and perception change.
That's the lamest excuse ever. Games are supposed to look clear if you have the hardware to run it at a good resolution and like 99% of current games have options for disabling antialiasing.
-
If I get 10 4k's in a row as speed limiter bubba at rank 1, does that mean he's good? Not at all. Ranks don't mean anything and pipping doesn't mean much either.
Wraith is good with addons but his basekit is pretty bad imo.
-
Thanks for making this useless post
-
I don't know why @Malkraz wrote Bloom but sure you can use both I think. What I wrote is enough for disabling anti aliasing.

Go to your engine.ini file and paste this to the end, it should work.

Wow it work, thank dude, i love you °-°
Unfortunately I am afraid that they will also remove the possibility via this string, perhaps with the impending ptb?
In a sense, I would like you to remove the string in which I can do it, I don't want developers to read it haha
This method used to work before but they disabled it on the latest PTB. Now they re-enabled it with the latest hotfix so they probably won't disable it again.
It's pretty stupid that there is still no ingame option for disabling it though.

As has been proven before, there are changes that can be made through the anti-aliasing that aren't intended for the game, I would bother with researching a little rather than simply denying it next time. Developers did not intend to lock the anti-aliasing some way if there weren't any issues with it. Issues they are looking into.
Sorry but you should be the one doing research, do you even know what antialiasing is? Anti aliasing is harmless, there were other modifications to the engine.ini file and those were causing problems, not antialiasing.
-
RNG is messed up on this map. Sometimes it's fine but sometimes it spawns nothing in the entire middle area.

Barely any risks? I guess it never activating because Survivors cleaned totems is not a risk, huh?
I guess it being cleaned 5 seconds after it activates is ALSO not a risk.
So having a perk slot actually turned off by Survivors is not a risk? Damn. And here I was wishing Killers could, somehow, turn off a Survivor perk. But Survivors would cry foul at that. But they can't, if it's not a risk.
It sounds risky on paper but in reality survivors usually don't even attempt to cleanse all 5 (and why would they in solo queue) so yes it isn't very risky at all in my opinion.
Getting cleansed soon after activation also doesn't happen often enough to make people stop using it.

When I was browsing through the config files to the game I could have sworn I saw AA in there for the saved launch configuration.
Is it okay to teach people how to change
Anti-Aliasing = "True"
edit into
Anti-Aliasing = "False"?
That stuff used to work before but they disabled them. Nothing happens when you set it to false.
-
Because why wouldn't people use it? It activates in like 95% of the matches anyway so there's barely any risks and it gives easy kills.
-
Totally not biased btw
-
Yeah, I was enjoying the game the most during that period. My enjoyment has been going down slowly ever since.
-
It was around 40 minutes against a scratched mirror Myers on the game map. It was a very long cycle of getting found while working a gen, losing him, getting healed and then getting found again shortly after healing or after starting to work on a gen.
-
Here you go:
Trapper, Wraith, Hillbilly, Nurse, Hag, Doctor, Plague, Demogorgon, Oni, Deathslinger, Huntress, Legion, Clown, Pig, Leatherface, Ghostface, Myers
-
A bit of both

Sadly I don't know anyone that will play DBD with me. Had a lot of edgy and horror loving friends growing up, but that was decades ago and they have all moved into other things. I
So I can say Solo A is bad because it is all I have ever known. It is fresh and unpredictable at least?
I actually managed to convince some of my friends to try the game before but they just play for a few hours and then never touch the game again. This game is not beginner friendly at all so I can't blame them.

not really enjoying it most of the times.
mostly because of sweaty killers or self-proclaimed pro survivors that are actually the worst antimates (and mostly the ones accusing everyone else as „potato“)
there can be fun matches though, which can make up for it. I also recommend trying to befriend survs you had good matches with and then play SWF with them (no comms necessary but also possible I guess)
I used to play with random people I met in the game but unfortunately, this game is not popular in my country at all so those people are always from other countries and I'm lucky if they even know english. We usually play for a few weeks and then don't play anymore for some reason.
-
@venom12784 said:
Except for the 10 min wait yes I do.
Waiting ages for a match and then playing with potato teammates is extremely common for me. Maybe I wouldn't mind the bad teammates as much if the queue times weren't so long.

I don't love it...it's pretty disheartening to see
I'm just joking of course I don't like it either lol
I agree with all of your points but the devs still think NOED is fine for some reason. They said small game was going to get a buff before so the totem counter will probably be included in that, which will still force people to spend a perk slot and it won't solve anything.

I love how so many people type in the same annoying response without even reading the post.

I get that there are a lot of problems that should be a lot of changes that should have been made by now, but I think that people tend to forget that bHVR aren't a Triple-A company like Ubisoft, Blizzard or Epic Games. Those guys are MASSIVE and have larger teams working on games in general.
There is also the potential issue of using a somewhat outdated game engine, and while the game could be completely redone in a new game engine, there is also the issue of changing everyone to that new engine.
One thing that I will absolutely support bHVR for is that being a smaller company, there isn't the issue that a lot of them have taken to lately, with trying to have "broad market appeal". Dead by Daylight does seem to appeal to a very particular audience, and that is 100% ok.
What do you mean by outdated game engine? Unreal Engine 4 is one of the best game engines available and it's used by a ton of game companies for all sorts of different games.
-
Poor bait
-
I mean, this was the perfect time to nerf it considering people are going to be playing huntress a lot more for a while and people may use iri head a lot more to get the challenges related to her done more quickly. This game is going to be very annoying for a while with more iri heads and more dedicated server hatchet hits. The combination of both is probably the worst thing in the entire game.
Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't a developer say there was a change coming to iri head "soon" on a livestream like more than year ago? Why did that never happen?
-
Sorry but I won't defend them anymore. They have been consistantly releasing very broken patches for a while now. Like there were pretty obvious bugs on the PTB and they didn't fix them on launch. They can delay the patch as much as they want, I won't mind it at all as long as they fix the bugs but they just don't.
Not to mention how they couldn't be bothered to add an option for disabling anti aliasing and how they didn't do anything to fix the deadzones on the PTB.
-
I think it's intentional unfortunately. I was hoping that it was because of bad RNG at first but this happens really often.
