The new ruin is what surge should have been. Then less killers would have relied as much on ruin. However they should just make it a normal perk or let it come back to a dull totem after 30 seconds of it being broken
30 seconds is too short in my opinion but that's a really good idea

Most red rank survivors still can't hit great skill checks

Used Dead Hard and got downed and exhausted on the ground. Second match in by the way. Yay.
I gave up and switched to sprint burst weeks ago on pc. Dead hard gets extremely irritating after a while.

Maybe you can do what Groot can't/wont.
In your own words, defend SWF and explain how it isn't cheating. Why is SWF not cheating when anything else that bypasses rank, bypasses matchmaking, and causes lopsided gameplay is?
And Iv already gave an idea to how to fix this. Combine SWF with KYF and make it unranked. It isn't without fault and will lead to a backlash. But SWF shouldn't have been put into ranked gameplay to start with as DbD was never built to support it. Ranking would have worth if SWF couldn't allow players to play above/below their ranks. Matchmaking would be better if SWF wasn't trying to pair up and organize cluster ######### of group numbers across all ranks. Gameplay balance wouldn't be so horrible if SWF didn't allow Survivors to run pure meta builds without any need of support/information perks.
SWF is a root cause of a LOT of problems in DbD. And in order to fix said problems, you gotta deal with its root cause or else it will never be fixed.
It would cause a lot more than a backlash. It would kill the game.
Swf also no longer allows you to play with killers below your rank. Not sure why you think it does.
You also literally need 0 information/support perks while playing solo. I always run the meta perks and do just fine. All you need is somewhat decent teammates.

I have noticed this tonight as well. Something has changed. I dont think I was getting SWF's though.
Dedicated servers are online on ps4, that's why it's like this

Welcome to the dedicated servers experience

Hit detection is usually killer sided rather than survivor sided
-
Umm, why? Just buy auric cells earlier
-
It's already starting to happen. I have seen a lot more people using NOED since the announcement.
NOED is a lot more annoying than ruin devs. I'm sure new players will have tons of fun :)
-
I didn't notice anything but if that's true then it's probably unintentional and will be fixed when the patch is officially out.
-
Hitboxes are really good on the ptb right now. They are trying to fix them, check the patch notes
-
I think something similar to identity V could work.
Gens progress slower until the first hook or for like 2 minutes if the killer fails to hook anyone. I don't know how much slower would be fair though.
-
Guys , please stop spreading misinformation
They said that they were happy with their INTERNAL TESTS not the ptb.
That post was also written before the ptb

@Aesthetiks said:
makes sense how they want to hide rank data from end game with this update, they're unable to fix their own matchmaking
Nope, they deleted that from the patch notes. Probably decided not to do it

They aren't lying, that's how it's supposed to work but it's currently broken.

They should just remove ranks at this point tbh.

It's from the leaked patchnotes, it hasn't been announced officially yet.

Where are these patchnotes? Please just link them.
I'm not sure that's allowed here, just search leaksbydaylight on twitter and you'll find it

Matchmaking can't be broken if no one can see the ranks :)

I used to be someone who rolled their eyes when someone said the devs only care about survivors. But this has made me into an actual 20%er. I am forced to conclude that either the devs are complete idiots or they only listen to survivors.
So I intend to get on the toxic killer protest bandwagon. If we make the survivors whine because killers are being toxic over the Ruin nerf, either the devs will either revert Ruin (or add something else to keep gens from being done super fast), or nerf killers more. If it's the first option, great. If it's the second, bye.
So yeah. I'm gonna start stockpiling moris. And I'm gonna start searching the blood web for NOED and Franklin's. And I'm going to pray BHVR comes to their senses.
That is literally one of the dumbest ideas i have ever heard
-
Literally no one asked for a ruin nerf(that includes survivors). The only thing you guys will achieve is making the game annoying for survivors for no reason.
If you want to truly protest, stop playing the game instead of throwing a temper tantrum like a child.

That's like saying why do you manifest if people who disagree with you will feel upset.
We do it as an act of protest. We do it for our beloved Ruin.
Stop playing the game if you want to protest. You will literally achieve nothing by using moris. The only thing you might achieve is getting them nerfed sooner lol
-
Make the game annoying for survivors when they didn't even ask for a ruin nerf
Good idea

Read and maybe you will find out.
I did read them but I don't think you did
-
Everyone is talking about how they hate the changes. What are you talking about?
-
New survivors have a hard time dealing with it, that's the only logic I can see, which is true but this is not how you fix it.
-
Where's the lie?
-
To hide how broken the matchmaking is lol
-
I think it will affect the game in a very negative way
My guesses:
-Camping ,tunneling and maybe slugging will increase quite a bit and DS will get even more popular
-Queue times will get even worse for high rank survivors
-Red rank matches will be filled with the same killers like spirit and billy
-Most killers will be helpless against a good survivor team ( clown, leatherface etc.)
I would be totally onboard with this change if they adressed the gen times in other ways but I can't see how this is a good change right now. It just seems like catering to new survivors.
-
After some thinking, I don't think the perk's effect is bad but it will be only really be useful at the late game and hex totems usually don't last long. That seems like a huge design flaw to me, especially considering that most totem spawns are terrible. That being said, I still wouldn't mind this as a seperate perk.
-
@NMCKE said:
Well, it doesn't look that bad to me because of a few things:
- Regression occurs at a flat rate of 1 charge over a duration of 4 seconds. With Ruin, this now happens
immediatelyinstead ofwhen you kick a generator, and regression now occurs at a flat rate of 1 charge over a duration of 2 seconds. - Survivors can't tap generators during a chase.
Doing the mathematics, if a generator is at 90% and you happened to catch a survivor and chase them off.
At that time, the survivor has 72 charges on that generator. With Ruin, assuming no other survivor touches that generator, it will take 144 seconds for that generator to regress back down to 0 charges. Without Ruin, it would have taken 288 seconds, plus as a bonus, you would've needed to kick the generator to start regression.
It could be strong late game but hex totems usually don't last that long. You will get very little benefit from it at the beginning and it will probably be cleansed by the time you would actually start to benefit from it.
- Regression occurs at a flat rate of 1 charge over a duration of 4 seconds. With Ruin, this now happens
-
All Generators are affected by Ruin; if a Generator is not being worked on, it regresses at [1/1.5/2] times the normal regression rate.
-
I wouldn't mind this as a seperate perk but even then, the effect just doesn't seem that powerful. Replacing ruin with this was very silly though imo, especially with all the complaints about gen times.
-
That would make the perk garbage, just like lucky break.

The reduced speed while being crouched is only fair, the fact that GF moves faster when crouched is just bad game design.
I think that Pig is a potentially a viable killer but needs a serious look at her add-ons and, perhaps, try and give some more power to her trap.
I'm pretty sure GF moves slower when crouched. Both of them have the exact same movement speed when crouched (without addons)
-
I do and I seriously can't play without it anymore. The game looks incredibly blurry and dark without it, especially on higher settings.
-
@samination said:
Perhaps DS doesn't work anymore if it was a safe rescue? Doesn't seem they should still need it at that point.
That would make ds totally useless. Especially killers like spirit and billy can quickly come back to the hook after leaving and down you again, it's not a unsafe rescue in that situation.
-
Generator rushing, hookbombing and bodyblocking are strats and they aren't toxic at all.
The only thing you can report is the endgame chat. Teabagging or flashlight clicking aren't reportable.
And seriously, why is teabagging such a problem in dbd? These sorts of taunts are a part of almost all online games. Some games even have taunt buttons.

What do you think? Did I make your statements clear? If not please be free to tell them right now,if you want
"If noed was basekit or if failing to cleanse all 5 of them always had a consequence, I could consider it as a secondary objective. Cleansing all 5 totems will do absolutely nothing except give you bloodpoints most of the time."
You can add this to my argument

By your own definition of the survivors objective...YES. Those do become objectives. Escaping by any means such ass pallet stunning the killer to lose him etc. Your trying to say the only actual survivor objective is to simply walk out the exit gate. That is objectively wrong and the devs even say that.
The game would put a lot more emphasis on.....are you being ironic? IT DOES It has a perk in it that only activates when the exit gates are powered. Ya know the perk the topic is about?
The only objective of a baseball team is to win the game. Does that not also mean hitting home runs is not an objective in mind? Is scoring a goal in soccer not the teams objective when on the field? lmao #########.
When I say emphasis, I mean like if noed was basekit or if failing to cleanse all 5 of them always had a consequence. Then I could consider it as a secondary objective. Cleansing all 5 totems will do absolutely nothing except give you bloodpoints most of the time.

They are a secondary objective I just showed you 2 sites that say that. They were added as a secondary objective and they will remain. I showed you my logic and my proof of why they are a secondary objective. If you wanna argue with me about this, then I suggest to find your own proof that they are not. If you may,I wanna make a forum about this because I indeed find it an interesting topic. Let me know if you agree
You can open a thread if you like, I am also interested.
The only time totems are mentioned as objectives are in the emblems section, I don't know where else it says that on the gamepedia site like you say.
Why do they give bloodpoints in the boldness category rather than the objective category? The game also never mentions totems as being objectives in the ingame guide section. It only says cleanse dull totems for bloodpoints or cleanse hex totems to disable their effect.
If the devs are actually considering them as secondary objectives then they are doing a very poor job since dull totems do almost nothing.

Thats really strange logic. Everything in game that merits points can be an objective towards the goal of escaping. Escaping by any means is more doable if you have your team alive to help with it. Take out totems so the killers perks go away especially NOED. No? Even though the devs consider the main objective pipping. To pip you need to do more than just gens.
I don't think it's strange at all. Are pallet stuns, vaulting, opening chests and many more stuff alternate objectives too then since they help you escape?
The game would put a lot more emphasis on cleansing totems if they were actual secondary objectives. The only thing dull totems do is give points and potentially disable one perk.
-
@ASurvkillivorer said:

By that logic you might as well never unhook team mates, never heal anyone including yourelf. Just do gens as thats the objective.
Peoples BS never surprises me but NOED is really a special one to me....a perk that can easily be REMOVED FROM THE GAME in a couple minutes. In most cases without ANY special attention to totems other than survivors cleansing them when they happen upon them.
You don't have to help your teammates so it's not an objective. You could literally not help anyone and get out with the hatch. Survivors objective is to escape by any means and the killers objective is to kill by any means. It's that simple.
Cleansing totems helps you escape, but it's not an objective.
-
That's a fanmade wiki, why are you even showing that? The dbd gamepedia one is endorsed by devs and it doesn't say objective there.
-

They are a secondary objective.
Not really, why would disabling a perk that the killer may not even be using be an objective? That's like saying slugging is a secondary objective because the survivors might have ds.
If noed was basekit then it could be a secondary objective

Totems are not objectives
