I'm a noob, what is RNG?
Basically all random things like pallet placements, hook placements, pig's reverse traps etc.
-
Rework the ranking system entirely and add rank rewards.
-
I will finally bring some balance to this game
-
And survivors should die from the explosion if they miss a skill check
-
nvm

I don't think so. I play on Xbox NA Rank 1 for reference.
Also, the one of the two times I got an Ebony, he just mori'd everyone on death hook, so he would've won without it. That's what I do when I have a daily.
I play on PC EU at rank 1. It could be different on consoles or other regions but moris are definitely not that uncommon for me. I also very rarely see people mori on death hook.

I actually did a little personal experiment. I counted the amount of mori's I saw from the time Stranger Things dropped to December 1st. I had 2 Ebony's and a Cypress. They really aren't as common as people think.
I've had the opposite experience with keys. I have had a total of 22 people escape thru the hatch using a key. Probably inflated due to the Archives wanting you to run Plunderer's.
That being said, I agree. Something needs to be done about both.
You must be incredibly lucky dude, I go against more ebony moris than that per week. Especially since so many killers are afraid of pink neas and flashlight for some reason. Chances of going against moris legit increases when you bring a flashlight or use the pink hair.
-
I would absolutely love to see this implemented but I don't think the devs are going to any time soon or at all.

Unless there is a locker.
I consider pipping or a 4K a win. Either works for me lol
I can't count pipping as a win or a depip as a loss when the emblem system is so deeply flawed.
-
He counts pipping as winning so it makes sense. Getting a 3k/4k is a win to me so moris are more powerful. Especially since you can easily tunnel someone off hook and get them out of the match instantly. You don't have to worry about ds either.
-
Why was the game great before and why is it bad now? Survivors are still getting nerfed and killers are mostly still getting buffed (I say mostly because nurse).

It gives you an idea as to where a totem is. You're telling me survivors, especially solo survivors should have a way to counter totem perks? So you just want to basically remove totems from the game right off the get go. Imagine what that would be like with SWF. If a map doesn't have the burning barrels, even I can find a totem fairly quickly just by listening for sounds of a little fire.
Are you sure you are understanding what I'm saying? I don't mean counter play when I say counter. I'm talking about how many totems are left.

Well, if im honest those "red ranks killer" play like rank 20's (no offense)
And since those videos are from youtube I guess he cherry pick the games where he gets the 4 man escape...
He has 96 escapes in a row and that only ended because the hatch spawned inside a tree. He is certainly not a bad survivor, not even close.
I agree those youtube videos are mostly cherry picked though but everyone does that on youtube.
-
Umm why? Not everyone is toxic and I had lots of friendly conversations in the chat before. Turn it off or you know, don't get offended by what some random person tells you online.

There are totem counter perks though. Small game. You could even run a map using detective's hunch. What more would you want? To make a perk that becomes useless as soon as it's broken become even worse?
Small game has no totem counter. You could use detective's hunch or maps but no one has infinite maps so no need to bring that up really.
It's just another case of, swf gets free info but screw solos. I said this before, a totem counter isn't necessary. The game should play a sound or something for both sides when all totems are cleansed. That would be enough to make it more fair for solos.

I mean I get this is opinion but I mean there are thing s about these killers that are just straight up objectively fact biggest being that nurse IS the strongest killer because of the fact that she completely negates the survivors only defense against killers, windows and pallets and I don't even like her
Yes there's a skill requirement but that's not a problem with the character that's a problem with the player..
Also hag is life
Read the title again lol

add the totem counter to small game.
not even the killer has a totem counter unless he sacrifices a perk slot for it, i dont see why survivors should have that privilege.
I wouldn't mind it being basekit for both sides. In fact, a totem counter isn't even necessary. The game should play a sound or something when all totems are cleansed for both sides, that would be enough in my opinion

If you look long enough and you find nothing, then you can assume all totems are destroyed. Also Detective's Hunch and Map can help you see if there are any totems left.
Yes you can but it's still a perk/item solution to a problem, which I really dislike.

Small Game? Detective's Hunch? Map? Eyes? Knowledge where totems spawn?
It's not about finding them, you have no clue if your teammates cleansed any in solo queue.
-
I wouldn't say very high risk, it almost always activates against solos
-
It's pretty annoying.
Give survivors a totem counter and it will be fine.
EDIT: Totem counter, as in how many totems are left, not counter play.

Then how come Otz, Puppers or tru3ta1ent have videos on their channels looping Spirits for much MUCH longer than that? Is it that they always face bad killers even in red ranks?
The Spirit is more than fine after the changes and with the sound issues in this game I'd even say she's lost a massive portion of her power.
Please don't mention tru3's videos lol. I watched many of her spirit counterplay videos and some of them are legit clickbait (he never even got chased in one of them) and some of the other ones are against terrible killers.
On topic: not knowing when she is phasing or not is not really much of a problem and you will be fine if you always act like she is phasing. Just don't vault the pallet like a rank 20.
-
She is still pretty annoying but power wise, she is fine if you have iron will.
-
I lost it at the spirit part lol
She has one of the smallest skill caps in the game and you don't need to be godskilled to be good with her. You will be fine with almost any headphone.

To be honest I primarily see toxic survivors more than I see toxic killers of course there's always going to be some but for me the vast majority of the toxicity I see is on the survivor side. Killers (for me at least) have been much more good spirited about the game .
Believe me, the only reason why survivors seem more toxic is because there are naturally more survivors in the game since it's a 4v1. I just had someone tunnel me the entire the game and then disconnect when the other 3 were about to escape (and there were 3 bloody party streamers in the match). Killers can be just as toxic as survivor.
Back to the topic: I think making the maps smaller and reducing the amount of safe pallets along with removing the god loops will help a lot with the gen times.
-
If the devs can find a way to nerf swf without affecting solos then no, but I don't think that's really possible so the only solution is to buff solos in my opinion.
-
I try to only camp when the gates are open to secure my kill or if survivors are swarming the hook to save.

Except when people lower rank then you usually are better?
In this game, not really. I have seen people self care against noed at rank 2. It is super easy to rank up as survivor in this game.
-
That's not much of a difference and you should be able to deal with people 3 ranks higher than you. Ranks don't mean much in this game.

I think it is more like this.
Just to summarize: According to Tofu, the Queue Times are because of the SWF-change. More players are in the Red Rank Pool than before, because they get dragged by their Red Rank Friends. Meanwhile, in lower Ranks, the Queue times increase for Killers, because those matches are not available for them anymore, since they are in the Red Rank Pool.
And I would agree on that.
At least, it is not because less Killers are playing the game because it is annoying or draining. I highly doubt that Thousands of Killer players decide at the same time to not play Killer anymore, because the Queue Times got long basically instantly.
(The new Rank Reset System is still Bullshit btw)
This is probably the reason. Not sure why people think so many killers suddenly stopped playing. The game is almost the same, why is it too annoying for killers now? It's not like everyone was playing nurse either so that reason is pretty stupid in my opinion.
The new matchmaking system and the new rank reset are only hurting the game and causing these issues.
Red ranks are filled with potato survivors and they are never leaving those ranks thanks to the new rank reset. Basically any survivor can get to red ranks with enough time, and they will stay there now. There are way too many survivors at red ranks at the moment.
New survivors have to play at the top ranks and get destroyed if they want to play with their experienced friends. Really good change to keep new players by the way BHVR. I know 3 people that are never going to touch the game again because they can't play with me anymore.
Killers at low ranks also have to wait around 15 minutes to find matches (which will also make new people instantly stop playing). So many survivors that should be in those ranks are now playing at higher ranks for no reason and there aren't enough survivors at low ranks anymore.
-
Ok, thanks for letting us know.

Do yourself a favor and uninstall the game. Low tier players are the real problem with this game.
No need to be rude to new players. Do you not want more players in the game?
If the devs cater towards new players then that's the problem. I actually used to think that haddonfield was a massively killer sided map when I was new to the game lmao. It's all different when you don't know how to play.
-
If you are on pc, disable vsync from the config files. It makes skill checks a lot more smoother.
-
Very bad idea tbh. Red ranks would be filled with the same killers and low rank survivors would get destroyed.
If you are good at an M1 killer you will already be decent at other M1 killers as well.
-
Thank god, it was probably my least favourite map.
-
For the most part, yes. Ranks don't mean anything, the only unenjoyable thing is sweaty swf.
-
Looping isn't allowed
Vaulting the same window more than once isn't allowed.
Don't use any gestures or the crouch button in front of the killer

Don't bring toolboxes, flashlights, medkits or keys.
More than one item = ebony mori
Borrowed time, adrenaline, object of obsession, decisive strike aren't allowed.
Standing in front of the gates is toxic
Map offerings aren't allowed

Exhaustion perks aren't allowed.
Bodyblocking is toxic, not allowed.
Survivors must run in a straight line and drop every pallet immediately.
Haddonfield = dc
Playing claudette or nea is toxic
Wearing dark clothes is not allowed
Cleansing hex totems quickly is not allowed

BHVR: Makes a change that makes both sides happy and buffs a very weak killer
Gets accused of survivor bias. These forums are a joke sometimes.

It isn’t really a buff since OoO wrecks him now.
Borrowed time is pretty useless against them now if they are camping so it's not a total nerf either.

The oblivious buff was very unnecessary but other than that he is pretty balanced

I play on PC and I very rarely get any hate messages. Everyone usually says gg and moves on. I guess it's a lot more common on consoles.

Yeah, I did exactly that for a trapper before and he let us escape.

I do this and NOED still procs. In fact, what ends up happening is the easy-to-find dull totems will all be cleansed and one obscure totem that's near-impossible to find will be left and become the NOED, making countering it difficult.
This. I usually don't even cleanse the ones I see anymore because it actually makes things worse for the most part. It's honestly best to only cleanse the well hidden totems if you come across them.
@danielmaster87 said:
I hear a lot that, "NOED users have no skill", which is exaggerated and wrong. Then I hear, "What, do you need an insurance perk?" and that statement better defines how strong NOED is. But why is it so "overpowered" when compared to other killer perks, and I should add, survivor perks? Being a hex totem, NOED is naturally a throw away perk of survivors decide to cleanse totem, and with this gen speed I'm sure they'll have more than enough time to do that AND finish all the gens in 6 minutes. Devour Hope, another Hex, allows you to 1-shot as well and even Mori people, so why is it not considered "overpowered"? Rancor gives you Exposed and Mori as well, even if it's only one survivor. Survivors have Dead Hard, which is an insurance perk, though you'll scarcely hear it be called that. It even gives you invincible frames. Adrenaline to me is overpowered, because it's like two perks in one: It gives you a sprint burst, heals you a full health state even from the dying state and while on hook, and is activated merely by completing the gens. NOED is like the counter-Adrenaline since it gives you speed and Exposed. If you ask me, NOED is simply leveling the playing field.
With those examples in mind, that brings me to my real question: Why do survivors get to use overpowered perks without any flak, but when a killer does the same, it's a crime?
Because that statement is usually true. When I go against a bad killer that gets looped for ages, they always have NOED. So many bad killers rely on this perk alone to get kills, instead of actually learning how to play and that makes it an unhealthy perk for the game in my opinion.
My biggest problem though is that there is no totem counter in the game so it makes cleansing totems very annoying for solo survivors and all 5 totems almost never gets cleansed unless I get them all by myself (which takes ages). If only the devs cared about solos more.

use spine chill
I am already using iron will just in case I get a spirit, I'm not going to spend 2 perk slots for one killer and spine chill won't make her less annoying to me.

Have you ever watched a horror movie where the killer just lets the survivor go? Didnt think so. Tunneling isnt a thing its just the killer playing the game. Get over yourself and learn how to hide better instead of being annoying and running in loops. If anything running in infinite loops should be penalized. Also, if I play against someone who i can tell is an infinite looper i purposefully "tunnel" and camp them just to piss them off often letting their teammates go free. I hope i see you in the fog so i can collect your snowflake tears.
Imagine comparing a horror movie to an online pvp game.
You could have also just written "I'm bad".
