Not to mention every map changed is a nerf to trapper with the new and lack of grass.

Aren't those two the literally only killer sided reworked maps?
The rest have better pallet spawns as well as more of them in most the cases.
They made them all worse for killer imo.

If you have time to work on a gen then you are not being tunnelled.

Because Nurse, Deathslinger, Pyramid Head and Spirit exist. I don't want yet another ridiculous killer who has no real counterplay. That's just the most unhealthy thing I can possibly think of. If someone wants to play a killer with no counters, go play one of those and stop pretending a guess is counterplay. Or keep pretending, what do I care, just leave Blight alone and let the Devs fix this stupid exploit.
Eh.. counterplay should not be a 100% guarantee or nobody would ever die.

That would be the wrong call, especially if they're in a chase. If I was a hag in a chase and somebody ghosted the hook (because yes, I do trap the hook, why wouldn't I? It makes sense to do so), it wouldn't bother me. Because time those two are spending crouch walking past my trap is time that two people aren't getting a generator done. Meanwhile, I'm probably already in a chase... three people are tied up.
Your stragtic thinking is really shallow, because even if the outcome is the same, making the Hag walk all the way back is time she's NOT spending pressuring your other teammates who may be on gens. Why give a 110 percent speed killer a free trip back? Besides, at least if she walks back you'll hear it coming and get a better head start rather than the almost no head start that tripping the trap would give you....
Lawl.. hags pressure other survivors. you got me there X'D
They set up a web and protect their "territory (camp)" and wait.

I tried him and it seems the devs forgot they made all the new maps anti ranged. There is so much junk to hide behind it isn't funny.

Wasn't trixter just an experiment to see just how bad they can make a killer and people still pay for cosmetics?

Speaking as the one Hag player on the planet who doesn't trap hooks, most survivors don't know how to play against Hag since she has a pick rate of 0.00003%.
The number of survivors I've encountered at red ranks who simply don't know that Hag traps and PH trenches can be crouch-walked over (or as I call it, the poop-scoot method) would astound you.
Or maybe it wouldn't astound you. Maybe you would be completely non-astonished. It's still a lot though.
9/10 times the hag will come back to the hook by the time you crouch walk over it or away from it after the save
the outcome is the same.

I wouldn't of minded so much if it was on grass. I could understand that.. anybody could just write it off as a immersed Yui or something.
But, in ALL FOUR INSTANCES TODAY it was clearly marked on light-colored concrete. you can't miss it.
And two of these were THE SAME BILL

/despairs for humanity
This is exactly why I main killer. One them is probably going to complain about a tunneling hag when it was completely preventable....
You mean the hag was more than 10 seconds away and not constantly making eye contact with the hook every 5? Where do you find hag players like this?!?!?

No The dev's will get some real data to balance the game around instead of what we have now. r1 boosted players muddying the stats.
SWF games will stand out like a sore thumb.

If it makes you happier sure we can call it an exploit. But that doesn't justify why it should be removed, when it doesn't create anything unbalanced or broken.
Yeah... running up the side of shack and somehow hitting me inside without having to bounce again is soooo balanced and fair.

It's not just a bvhr issue tho, once again tho no-ones calling for these other things to be acted upon, even though they are thousands of times more problematic. I dont see people like you out there asking for changes to these things yet people are more than willing to jump on with the whole blight exploit thing.
Never seen anyone use the ph exploit. If everyone started using it like the blight one then you would see more complaints and bhvr would fix it faster.
-
It was a swf and the gamelay they were delivering was boring.
-
Try Blight. He has a feedback on his camera while running and constantly forces you to look straight ahead. The problem with this is that you need to look down to bounce off low objects.
You literally fight your controls to bounce off a fence or car.
-
Some people play both sides.
-
Learn to wait at corners and learn the safe points on every loop.
Play on ultra to make the killer glow brighter and longer.
Look behind you now and then to see what the killer is doing.
Master all this and the killer won't be able to catch you.

You know a perk become far weak when the other side keep telling you to use the perk.
DS design was so bad that the true purpose (anti tunneling) is so weak but the exploit purpose (invisible Gen) is so strong.
The change is needed, but DS never been an anti tunnel perk. Thats why most survivors give up the perk.
New DS is still abusable for swf.
If it is that weak then there is no reason for an auto obsession every match correct?

You have a point, but the new Ds is underwhelming at best.
As I've said in another post, these few suggestions would buff it to a usable level.
Remove collision.
Stun 8s.
Lasts 90s max rank.
If slugged, timer doubles/ goes down half the speed it usually did.
Remove the healing clause.
Give a small speed buff for 4 seconds if the stun is hit.
Removed on protection hits.
This would make it both anti-tunneling and a decent perk imo.
No, this makes it an offensive perk for swf and not an anti tunnel perk.
The save and heal part is there specifically to prevent swf abuse using the person as a shield to body block and do stupid saves in the killers face.

Why are you assuming that I'm okay with a single perk being the only thing between me dying at 4 gens and me actually playing the game. I was never fine with it, most people weren't, but that doesn't change the fact that we still had no other option than DS to prevent getting tunneled, and we still don't. A constant obsession would be better than how it is currently.
Nobody talked about it until now though. so what has changed? the perk still stops tunnelling.
-
@DawnMad said:
After the changes I don't have a problem with assuming if someone has DS or not, since the moment I hear or see them heal, do a totem or do a generator I know now they are completely vulnerable. So I wouldn't mind there being an obsession every match as a killer, I would like it as a survivor so I'm not forced to bring a single perk if I want to actually play the game.
But you had zero issues using a perk slot for it previously to stop tunnelling so why has this changed? it still stops tunnelling.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
Not gonna lie I do support the DS changes and I think they were healthy for the game; but the problem is now killers are hard tunneling off hook constantly. "But DS would still work if" yeah but not everyone is running DS, however killers are playing in such a way they are trying to make it MANDATORY which is NOT healthy for the game.
If DS becomes mandatory for the game to be playable; then core changes are going to end up being needed. So Killers please ease up on the tunnels for your own good as well as survivors.
Why is this now a problem? Survivors ran DS in 9.9 out of 10 games pre nerf so just keep running it.
Why should the game change so you can have the DS threat while being able to run other powerful perks?
-
@2bitfeller said:
Killers will never be punished for chasing someone off a gen, and will never be punished for picking up an unhooker.
But,
No survivors run the perk anymore because they can't abuse it, and get tunneled by bad killers who will assume there is no DS. Survivors then cry. A lot.
Solution?
It's not the best solution but a base obsession every game regardless of perks would discourage tunneling. A buff the DS that makes it last longer might encourage more survivors to run it. The threat of DS remains but without the abuse that came with it. Everyone is happy..?
Just run DS and now there is an obsession every game you are in.
Problem solved yes?

@NekoTorvic said:
That is not necessarily true at all. Blight necessitates you as a player predicting your opponent's plays. You also need to know when and where to use your power in specific tiles regardless of your ability to control and make use of a substantial flick. It's just how the character is played and the situations where the flick can be used are very specific, hence why it only increases the killer's versatility and allows him to counter survivors just walking around a corner like it's all they have to do.
I know how to use Blight, ive seen Scott's guide and other guides, other Blight players as well as played him endlessly at rank 1 since his release... His 90 degree flick is invaluable to his kit, and his turn over 90 degrees is literally only useful in very particular situations and you need to have control over what you're doing otherwise you'll overshoot or undershoot. There is so much clutter in DBD maps that it's essential with a killer like that to have the tools to navigate around them, otherwise it just puts all the hard work on the killer while a survivor only has to move a bit behind something.
I replied to someone about the unintended aspect of this in another thread so I'll just copy what i think verbatim: "Here's the thing. Looping at some point wasn't the intended way to play the game. But that's what the game became, because it's the way players gravitated towards when engaging with it, and the devs noticed and course corrected. I don't care if something is intended or not, and the devs shouldn't either. What I care about is if the tool that exists provides a fair situation where it requires effort and knowledge proportional to how much work it puts on another player and the type of benefits it provides to the player using it."
It's a high skill tool to use with Blight at certain situations. If you get hit by it, the Blight player outplayed you, or you failed to put yourself in an advantageous position and you failed to understand and consider the capabilities of the killer and player you were going against.
Blight is powerful and in a good spot, with pretty good individual and team counterplay. He doesn't need his kit neutered because some survivors have a hard time grasping how much he can actually do. I can't begin to tell you how many survivors, streamers included, have commented on me playing Blight without addons thinking I'm turning too much even without me doing flicks... they just don't know cuz they never bothered to play the damn killer... Maybe those survivors should play the killer, so they know what the killer is capable off and what it requires from the killer player to pull it off.
Ultimately tho, what the hell does it even matter... a dev already said it's unintended, they'll probably fix it regardless of what anyone who plays Blight well says and that will be that.
Yep, that will be that.
-
Now I know tunnelling is defined as being chased at any point in time after being unhooked. Once all survivors have been hooked once, you are tunnelling for the rest of the game apparently.

But j-flicking isn't stretched res its a whole other beast, it is a mechanic that has counterplay to it, unlike something like strechted res which is the only reason I can stand by j-flicking because a mechanic that is both fun for the game and raises the skill ceiling of a killer even if unintentional should be accepted for the fact that it adds more depth to a character and their mechanics while not trivializing all survivor interaction with it
Because a blight rushing down the side of shack and lunging from the corner, across the front and then hitting me inside without needing to bounce again is not trivializing my movements /s

Seems some people have not played against wraith since the update. His snorting seems to be louder. I was working on a gen at the start of the game, oblivious to the fact there was a wraith and i Heard him before i saw him. I just picked a direction and held Shift W and got to a pallet before he could reach me.
He is nerfed.

Not to mention he is a tough killer to control, J flick is not something you can just do by simply increasing the dpi.
If you don't like it, just stick with consoles and turn off cross-play.

mkay. I wouldnt even bother to ask to be honest, I dont care that much about Stretched Res, because I can only see it when it is a Streamer (and I have seen a Killer who had the mother of all stretched res yesterday, his game looked so bad and his Blight was almost wider than tall, lol).
Both should be fixed, obviously. But I think J-Flicks are easier to fix than Stretched Resolution. (But I know that people will come up with BHVR favoring Survivor when they can fix one exploit, but are not able to fix another one)
Funny thing is i am very killer sided and want this gone :D

Agreed. they both need to be fixed. only one removes 90% of the counter play to a killer that has the highest mobility in the game and just got a buff :D
You can still catch the stretched rezer out of position.

It still does stop tunnelling.
It is for when meg runs over with the killer following her and rips you off the hook without bt or anything.

gen tapping shouldn't be a thing to begin with. It shoudl take a survivor just as long to stop regression as it does for a killer to start it.

Just run ds and after a skill check you would obtain a 5 sec stun once, and you would be tunneled anyway
But you wasted X of a killers time chasing you,X of a killers time picking you up and X of a killers time chasing you again. Your TEAM benefits from it because this game is not a 1v1. If you are good at looping and pathing, then your TEAM will do the gens and leave.

@cburton311 said:
They weren't using for antitunnelling. They were using it to protect themselves for 60 seconds. And now that it doesn't do that....at all, people will use it much less. I foresee tunnelling becoming a large problem, because, let's be honest it is the most efficient way to end a match as a killer.
This will be noticed by Behavior if the total number of players goes down and action will be taken. Either a new perk will emerge to help survivors deal with the issue of tunnelling that is fun and useful, or they may revert the changes to DS. Reality is DS was a terrible perk by itself. It needed unbreakable to overcome the killer response to DS which was slugging. Now that DS is even worse, I predict few will use it. The 2 perks together allowed survivors to actual play the game a little longer in the face of pretty terrible killer play (terrible for fun, not effectiveness).
It will be interesting how the meta adapts. Like so many before me, I'm going to start logging games data. Just so my information on the topic is not anecdotal or of the feels bad man variety.
Just run ds and you won't be tunnelled.

Okay why don’t you play as survivor and bring the perk every game for 50 games. Out of those 50 games how many times would you actually get to use DS? My guess would be about 5 of those matches. Why would anyone bring a perk that is only used in 5/50 matches when you can bring perks that work every game.
If you feel you don't need it then don't complain.

Thank you Mandy, we Wraith players appreciate it!
I have just Mained Wraith to Rank 1 Killer for the first time ever - literally the night before the patch. I ran a single Purple Windstorm in every single game to Rank 1. I couldn't wait for the Wraith buffs and I was super excited, especially having been able to play him well enough to reach Rank 1 before the "buffs"..
However, I tried him tonight, and something most definitely feels off. I was under the impression that he was basically going to have "base-kit Purple Windstorm" which actually would have made a lot of sense based on the description - but after playing 5 games tonight I could tell that this is not the same as Purple Windstorm.
The Speed increase does feel the same, I will give it that, but the Uncloaking feels a little heavier on the slow, not too noticeable so maybe its very close to the same, however, as others in this Thread have mentioned, the Lunge and actual Attack ability after Uncloaking absolutely does not feel right or the same as Purple Windstorm used to for example.
I missed SO many Lunges that I know should have landed previously with just Purple Windstorm just based on my natural instinctual memory. I have played enough Wraith to have developed the sort of "muscle memory" people are talking about, and my games tonight were significantly more challenging than "Before the Buff" which doesn't seem right to me.
The concept of the Buff was right, but I rather have to use Purple Windstorm every game and be stronger than actually miss Lunges that I'm used to hitting constantly and get completely Looped at any Window Vault near a Pallet for example because I can't use my Power or Uncloak fast enough to land a hit.
Anyways, here's to hoping that it is some kind of bug that can be figured out, because Wraith is my favorite Killer and I had high hopes for this patch but am a bit sad now, especially when I just depipped from Rank 1 one night after getting there because of it.
(I will say that something was also off on my Emblem's again this patch as well, I had 4 Survivors on Last Hook at the end of a VERY Sweaty match but they all Escaped and I got Bronze Emblem x3 entity displeased and literally -2 Pip) I swear that can't be right, even the survivors after the game told me that it doesn't make sense because I played well and almost got them all. Also it was a rather long game, they never even cleansed Hex Ruin and I was 3 gen on them for a while, so I have no idea how I got only bronze gatekeeper emblem *shrugs*
I read somewhere that they gave him the slowdown of both purple and green windstorm add-ons but only gave him the movement of one. This is why they removed it from the add-on incase you run them both.
It should have only been equal to one add-on and kept the slowdown on the add-ons.
-
He jams the breaks on as soon as he comes out of cloak. They nerfed his chase potential and mind game potential for mobility. I swear his grunting and growling is also louder since i can see survivors are able to perfectly track me through walls now with all seeing.
Also good luck dodging flashlights now.
-
Not much point catching up to them when you can't hit them after. If survivors are on coms or running spine chill GG.
I was using all seeing and a survivor behind a solid wall was able to counter my movements perfectly and constantly went the opposite direction to me. Either his breathing and snorting is also louder and more directional or they were using wall hacks.
