  • The corn messes with my eyes.

  • Now they just need to fix the oni 180 so they stop being carried by exploits.

  • meh.. if it isn't an achievement and you don't have a twitch following, what's the point?

  • Threw up on an elodie running around a rock, she did the sick noise and threw her hands up for the entire vomit duration and didn't get sick.

Just that I see people complaining about long matchmaking times but never switch to play killer even for a while to solve the problem

Because they know what they do to killers will happen to them.

  • I mostly get "aim dressing" problems against console users. the game can't seem to handle cross play and auto aim gets messed up with their trash tier ping. anything above 70 has the potential to mess with the auto aim.

  • 3 gen doctors piss me off... had a game last 40 minutes before the survivors just stood at hooks to end it as the killer refused to ever chase.

The survivors didn't even cause the 3 gen. He just forced it from the start of the match.

Still would take this map layout any day over what coldwind farm used to be back in the day with double pallets.

New coldwind keeps giving me shack window into long wall gym window...

I have same experience but with killer, cant get to rank 1 for 3 ranked seasons now, my best rank is 3 and now I am stuck at rank 4 for 2 weeks already.

However I got to rank 1 survivor multiple times and first time it was around a month of playing this game so I, personally consider survivor much easier than killer even in solo queue but everyone is built different

    What killer do you play?

  • @Blueberry said:

It's literally a challenge not to pip even at rank 1 regardless of how bad your teammates are. Not to mention how the slow rank reset has made it almost impossible to actually de-rank now. Awful teammates you'll probably lose and die, but you will still pip. If you aren't pipping then you are doing barely anything for your team. Do at least 1 gen, make a save, pop a totem and run the killer a tiny bit. There's your pip.

I have done 2 gens and saved one person and the game is over with the gates open... How do you pip if your team is way to efficient?

  • I play him because it is fun to shame People that die to a trixter XD

  • Nothing changed for me. Shock survivor in middle of jungle gym and they still vault long wall window like nothing happened.

The joy of low ping I guess.

  • New farm maps are broken for him.

  • Meanwhile i am getting fully stacked out maps and the farm one gives me long wall into shack....

  • @ryseterion said:

I think new coldwind looks fantastic, but gameplay wise its way too survivor sided. Alot of the new loops you cant see over with safe pallets, and as killer gens fly even with ruin. I havent lost as survivor on coldwind yet even against really good killers. The jungle jims have been elongated at certain parts and i have no clue why, it makes them even closer to being killer shack. I do like the new harvester though and how there is only one way onto the hay instead of jumping onto it. I like all of the killer changes accept for twins. Twins did not need that much of a change and they went to hard on them. The breakable walls were thrown around for the most part, adding several infinite loops back (especially on cowshed). But since ive only played a few games on new coldwind i might just not be used to it. Your thoughts?

You like harvester being a god loop?...

  • @chargernick85 said:

Cold win as always Been survivor sided but this is just horrible. The new Harvester is weird best way to describe it. I'll have to watch a video on that seems like it's back to the old way where they can vault back and forth and there's nothing you can do. Hopefully I'm wrong on that ill investigate that one for sure.

Yep, they nerfed harvester. It is possible to hop onto the hay bales but it is extremely inconsistent and very obvious you are doing it.

  • @Laluzi said:

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I have an easier time seeing things and finding my way around the Swamp.

Coldwind's just become my least favorite map. I don't know what it is, but it's just visually overloading and it feels gigantic. It's beautiful and I love the detail, but I'm having a horrible time playing killer on it.

Because it is gigantic. 25 seconds to walk from one edge to the other.

  • characters are needed for diverse gameplay while skins are there for people that get bored.

They are not needed but people seem to pay anything to change things up and look different.

I have noticed that default skins have been quite ugly/ bright while the skins that release on day one for new characters are always better and usually dark.

  • Maps look nice but are badly balanced.

  • They ruined my doc skin :( the paramedic one. its too clean and bright af now.

The entire update is a flop in my eyes.

  • they nerfed harvester.

  • the entire map is horrible. Tiles all link together, the shack is huge, the maps are large.

Poor performance from the map dev with all the changes on the new maps.

  • It made it. and it is just as toxic as we all knew it would be.

  • still won't do anything if nobody ever runs the perk.

Well I have been playing 4.5 years - and a red rank killer almost 4 years - I have faced quite a few SWFs. I never said they were all alike. What I said was to adapt. If you try to play against a SWF like you do randoms - you will not be as successful. While facing SWFs at lower ranks without a lot of perks can be hard - it is not impossible. The game is supposed to be challenging otherwise it gets quite boring. If you suspect the survivors are a SWF - change some perks, change your addons, change your playstyle - adapt. I realize that a lot of "killer mains" like to paint all/most SWFs as the boogeyman, but that's mainly hyperbole and an unwillingness to change their playstyle and whine when they lose. I mean they have to blame something on their loss - and very few accept it was their gameplay that contributed to their defeat. Newsflash - you will lose as a killer and survivor - that's the nature of the game.

Not knocking killers...or supporting survivors - just pointing out the ridiculousness of SWF hatred and the vitriol and hyperbolic rantings on these forums...which goes both ways by "killer mains" and "survivor mains." I wish more people actually played both sides almost equally - that would stop a lot of the stupid rants by both sides. Survivors and Killers play for the same basic reasons: Fun, Challenge, Bloodpoints, Pips, etc. I am not out to depip anyone when I am survivor or killer - I am however out to get some pips/bloodpoints for myself. Villainizing either side serves no purpose in achieving your goals or "winning" a match.

Why are you focusing this on survivor players? they are not villains, they are just using the busted and unbalanced things the devs give them. the villains are the greedy dev's / people in charge who refuse to give solo players the same information without perks and refuse to touch swf in any way because it generates money.

I do play solo survivor, and i can't escape rank 2-1 as killer unless i force it. I have had games where everyone had kindred and the killer stood no chance. we did the gens so fast that everyone got a safety pip because nobody wasted time (multiple survivors leaving gens for saves or to see if the killer is camping etc)

The only reason swf don't gen and out is because of the pip system and they are bored...

  • @Jasix said:

I take advantage of their altruism. I had a SWF with 3 flashlights the other day - two were found during match. After multiple blinds when I would try to hook - I just slugged them and hooked them individually. They wanted their friend to live so bad they played horribly by staying close to the downed survivor.

I have only ever truly been "bullied" by SWF once in 4.5 years - so it is what it is. My success rate against SWF is only slightly lower than 4 randoms. You just have to learn to adapt your playstyle when you know they are communicating, defending, etc. I prefer going against SWFs as it is more of a challenge. You will see some "killer mains" claim all/most SWFs are practically unbeatable, but I haven't encountered that yet - and while I have been red rank for 3+ years - I am not a "pro" by any standard. I also don't consider a 2k or 3k a loss - I go by bloodpoints/emblems/pips. Not saying you won't "lose" to some SWFs, but you lose and learn.

    Just remember - it's just a game.

These swf are easy. they are not doing gens and are constantly following you around playing into your perks

The real bullies do gens asap and leave with the focus of de-pipping the killer.

  • Killers stop playing and swf number increase.

As swf numbers increase, players that may have been solo earlier are now playing with online acquaintances reducing the "good" players and leaving the casuals and new players for solo.

AKA swf ruins literally everything in this game.

  • you don't. The game is fully in their hands and how they abuse discord chat.

Just catch one and camp the ever living snot out of them to deliver an equal gaming experience back.

  • I just wish survivors didn't stop running it. I have never gotten so much use out of ds as i have after the nerf, running it and usually being the only one with it, has made the killer visibly ignore me after being unhooked and they go after someone else.

It still works, people are just silly and need to move to another location for heals or gen progress.

DS was nerfed 5 times though that was one of the hardest perks to nerf now it’s actually balanced. But tomorrow we will have to deal with lucky break now

the only reason they nerfed ds.

  • Put controller sensitivity to 100% because it messes with his turn speed and bind turning to Q and E and steer / curve with it.

They made a whole other thread about how "OP" Iron Will is and how they're "forced" to run Stridor in order to counter it, I wouldn't waste your time arguing with them.

Ever play spirit against good survivors with iron will and no stridor?

as long as both perks exist, a killer that can't see and is all about sound IS forced to use it.

I look forward to your rebuttal that proves me wrong with facts.

  • A real solution is to increase gen times and make the entity transport the survivor somewhere random when put on a hook.

This is actual work so will never happen.

  • @BrokenSouI said:

Good job, my broken brotheren. A lot of people don't know how to mind game. And will struggle with a slower killer trying to m1

stand at corner- wait to see killer- move

  • Solo sucks because the devs refuse to give them the same information swf have. You waste perk slots for aura reading and without it you waste time not doing gens for saves etc.

either you make yourself a team player and a weak looper or easy target with no dead hard or ds, or you make the team weaker by taking strong perks and having zero idea what the others or the killer is doing.

  • @musstang62 said:

Solo is a mixed bag. Some games are pretty fun. Some games you get hard tunneled out of existence because a fellow survivor unhooks without BT and immediately activates their stealth camouflage. Other games, you don't make it a foot away from the hook because you got farmed without BT. Other games, you run the killer for 5 minutes, then as you go down, you see the 3 yellow auras of your teammates hiding behind a bush in the corner of the map

If you're seeing the pattern, usually solo isn't miserable because of the killer. It's usually miserable because of the teammates. I'd love for SWF/Solo/Killer to be balanced equally, and I do think SWF is currently a bit busted, but I do also understand why people would want to play SWF when solo can be a bit maddening

Its only this bad because of swf. All the "good" players are playing in a swf leaving the casuals and de-ranking smurf accounts in solo.

as usual swf ruins everything in this game, but it also generates money and keeps the game popular... unless killers actually pose a threat like spirit then they complain that they can't bully simulator.

its a bit harder to nerf the keys tho. If you know what blueprints are, and you know how blueprints can interact with other blueprints, you can see why Mori's can be adjusted relatively easy, while adjusting keys isnt that simple. They already nerfed keys by reducing the time the hatch stays open.

How is changing the requirement to 5 gens completed hard?

"Pre nerf nobody used billy without the "unfair" addons. This is all you can remember him as looking at your post."

Wrong, I've faced plenty of Billies. Plenty of Billies who didnt use any addons at all. Some not even using any perks. If they ran perks, it was always BBQ, Bamboozle, Enduring and Spirit Fury to negate his only weaknesses.

"Post nerf billy is the same as pre nerf billy without addons only he can't set things up or do much thanks to the overheat and this is why nobody plays him."

Which is mainly false, he can do most of those things still, he just no longer can traverse the map as quick. The issue is that once he gets close to overheating, there isnt much you can do other than eat through the overheat mechanic, which is boring, or wait for the overheat mechanic to dissipate, giving you very limited choices in either using his chainsaw to gain distance, or using his chainsaw to zone people. THAT is why no one plays him. It forces people to make very hard decisions. Billy was never about setting things up. He was always about covering the map quickly and being able to shorten chases massively by using perks to block windows and spam his ability to delete pallets very quickly. Considering pallets in general have been reduced, this instantly buffs old Billy as he no longer needs to deal with those pallets and only has to care about windows instead.

"The animation, sound (roar and volume) and fov changes are the icing on the cake to making him miserable to play."

The roar is fine. Bubba always had a similar roar and no one complained. Billy had an 0 sound cues to tell survivors the difference between a revving and a running Billy. So yeah, a sound cue was needed, and a roar fits him lore-wise. Perhaps the volume needs to lower a bit on the killer side as killers tend to already increase their volume to hear people breathing and footsteps, which the roar is meant to make more difficult to hear, but it shouldnt deafen the players. The FOV makes him miserable to play. The animations are fine.

"Way to much effort for little payoff and requiring survivors to make massive mistakes."

Which is actually false, as you said, post nerf billy is the same as pre nerf billy. So there is no change in effort. The only change is that the timeframe of using his chainsaw has been massively reduced, with no way to take any advantage if you exceed that timeframe. While Bubba also no longer can infinitely rev, but he has addons that take advantage of him exceeding the timeframe. The only bonus Billy gets is that instead of 30 seconds, it will take 15 seconds to go back to 0 charges. In those 15 seconds of overheating, Billy should gain something he can use other than just being a regular m1 killer instead, at the very least addons that give him something he can actually use.

If you face plenty of billies without addons then where are they now? Nothing has changed so surely they had no reason to quit playing him right?

You need to set up a survivor at a loop so you can get a curve hit.

The roar is grating to the ears and his sounds in general are just way to loud. why does he require a sound cue? give me a solid reason that survivors must know what a killer is doing at every single moment.

The maps have changed and many can't be played around as billy any more. There is more stuff littering the map to stop chainsaw sprints, the loops curve or have bits of junk that prevent curve chainsaws, leaving you to be a simple m1 killer for most of the match.

I watch someone on twitch who mains billy and he complains about this constantly

  • @Predated said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2156305#Comment_2156305

    Just like Bubba got overbuffed.

And I disagree, Billy needed a punishment on zoning survivors. His movementspeed reduction was practically non-existant and he didnt need any perks or addons to get consistent 4k's in red ranks. So yes, Billy needed a nerf in his basekit too.

So what did they do wrong? A lack of variable addons. There are 2 addons that are linked to overheating, and the only good one of those 2 is a brown addon that increases the cap by 20%.

    So what would I alter?

    1. Big Buckle instead of reducing the TR by 8 meter while overheating, making Billy undetectable(he already has 2 addons making him undetectable WITH his power, so why not without his power?)
    2. Black Grease, instead of it's very weird and niche use right now, instead add 5 or 10% movement speed while overheating(which would go nicely with the above Big Buckle AND current Tuned Carburettor)
    3. A brown addon to actually speed up the normal heat dissipation in exchange of slowing down the dissipation massively while overheating(which would improve his basekit AND gives him more use out of the above Buckle and Grease, but would be severely punishing if used improperly).

Essentially, giving Billy a playstyle that can only work if he Overheats, adding an extra layer onto Billy that he now so desperately needs. Old Billy was kinda boring, as there wasnt much mindgaming to do with him. You either reached a window in time, or you were downed. You either dropped a pallet in time, or you were downed. Right now, giving Billy players to 99 their overheat mechanic and actually give them a beneficial situation(being undetectable AND being 120/125% MS for 15 seconds is enough to hit a survivor before they can drop a pallet and gives you enough speed to close the gap before they can reach the next tile, let alone that STBFL would actually do wonders in this situation).

Essentially, I agree with the reasons of his nerf and also agree with the concept of current Billy. I dont agree with the endresult. They need to fix his cam, and give him more variety in addons to make him fun to play again.

Pre nerf nobody used billy without the "unfair" addons. This is all you can remember him as looking at your post.

Post nerf billy is the same as pre nerf billy without addons only he can't set things up or do much thanks to the overheat and this is why nobody plays him.

Way to much effort for little payoff and requiring survivors to make massive mistakes. The animation, sound (roar and volume) and fov changes are the icing on the cake to making him miserable to play.

  • @Chilli_man2400 said:

he Said can someone tell him why they nerfed Billy. I know the reason why, this is not a joke it has nothing to do with devs being bad at the game or stats it was that Billy had everything for free with no downside. Example

Oni needs to collect his power to have map pressure and insta down- Billy has it from the beginning and is faster.

Myers needs to stalk people to get his instadown- Billy has it from the beginning along with getting across the map with mobility which Myers doesn’t have.

Basically the point I’m trying to make is that Billy had all of this from the beginning he didn’t need to build up his power and he had no cooldowns he could just spam his power forever so he was nerfed so other killers can be played so people won’t say why play him when I can play Billy.

Man, survivors need a limit on how much they can spam shift+w around the map. There is no downside to spamming it and they get it from the start of the match for free. They also spam M1 and space way to much without any cooldowns. it really needs an overhaul.

So tired of people saying killers spam their power. SURVIVOR MAINS started that narrative with nurse expecting her to walk at 96% around the map or something?

  • @ALostPuppy said:

Yep, that pallet bug and survivors never being able to stun killers and constantly getting hit through pallets sure was dealt with immediately...oh wait.

What about all those Spirit complaints? The Devs definitely took their side and immediately nerfed her into the ground...wait, they didn't do that either did they? Darn.

Ooh! I know one! Remember how people have been complaining about Deathslinger for a year? He's had so many nerfs that he's unplayab- wait nope that didn't happen either.

You don't get hit through the pallet if you wouldn't get hit pre bug. The only thing missing is the stun.

  • @swager21 said:

i hate how theres no way to counter her power if your teammates are idiots

Hide... I have had teams that just vanish for the short time that my purge is up. The same concept should be used for corrupt intervention but nobody does it for some reason.

  • They have been removed. Grabs are survivor client sided and get rolled back if they let go.

  • I got stuck in a game for an extra 15 minutes because there was only 2 of us left and i was the only one attempting to do gens. The killer was mighty pissed off at the guy trying to hide and refused to kill me or let me do gens, and wanted me to rat out the hatch camper.

We bumped into him when the killer let me complete one gen ( was 2 to go) and he managed t dodge the killer after we both ran through the building (i will admit i kinda wanted him dead to for doing this so i kept running into him) long story short, killer found and killed him and gave me the hatch.

Hatch is bad for the game and needs to go.

  • I can't say "him" gender is offensive now.

  • A survivor escaping can cost the killer the entire game, while a survivor being hooked doesn't mean much to the survivors as a team.

SWF squads will literally bait you with survivors that have extra health states and even throw themselves at you to stop you taking a survivor out of the game that is on death hook.

  • They are shorter and harder to see.

On the game i can see male heads over some of the structures and throw trixter knives at them but i can't see the females.

It's a multiplayer game. Friends or not it is MEANT to be played with others. I've seen SWF not on coms and still beat killers... coms doesn't mean much. There's a difference between having fun with friends and being toxic with friends. Sure, I make callouts but it doesn't make me toxic, sorry that I actually have friends I want to spend time with unlike some others. But guess WHAT? Whether it's balanced or not, its apart of the game and BHVR says its allowed. The day all killers stop camping, tunneling, slugging, etc (which are also apart of the game that bhvr says is allowed) is the day I will stop SWF'ing.

The toxic part is where all 4 people bring DS, Headon, BT, Flashlights, etc with the INTENT to bully. I do not do that. I bring perks because I like that but never have intent on tbagging or bullying of any kind.

Doesn't matter how you play it, it is toxic to the game.

Killer population becomes low in the evening because they don't want to play when the swf population increases.

    Trap killers become useless

    Stealth killers become useless

    Totems become useless

gens are organised and completed quickly

there is no confusion or time waste with unhooks like you get in solo

    Blindness status effect becomes useless.

You can't hit and run without everyone knowing.

Perks are synergised and aura perks are no longer needed making survivors stronger.

    Blah blah blah.

it is toxic not because "you have friends to play with" but because it ruins the core of the game and has not been accounted for. Hell it even ruins solo q to a degree because the survivors that know how to play are also usually in a swf, leaving casuals and new players to play solo.

1 … 51 52 53 54 55 … 87
