  • TBF i am biased towards killer (post history) and i can't stand going against spirit. no tears will be shed if they ever nerf her.

  • All i know is that with this announcement, keys will not be changing for a minimum of 6 months to 2 years since they are only in the planning phase of this mori/key update.

Guess I'll take devour hope out of my builds. Losing Lullaby on doc too. Why even have hexes at this point, they're useless except for like 2

This is why they are making boon totems so they still get used. I bet they will be like identity v where you can get a strength boon and be able to ram the killer once to stun them or something like that.

To be fair, there naturally has to be more survivors than killers, but I get what you're meaning. I haven't really enjoyed the killer role starting around PH's chapter and it's declined ever since for me.

Did you see the devs reaction when asked about lobby times?

You could see the internal screaming in his head about there is nothing they can do and then talked about adding rewards to players to incentivize them to play the side with less players.

ive watched one game of nemesis and hes so freaking over cooked and I couldnt be more happy.

zombies can down, they track to players all the time.

you can kill a zombie as nemesis for undetectable.

his powers up time is not dependent on whos alive, if a player dies while infected that's a permanent buff to his range.

he only needs 3 survivors infected to get his max power potential.

his tentacle attack stays active so if you run into the tentacle before its back in his hand you take damage.

    hes a 115%

    HES NEMESIS!!!

if thisa version of him goes live hes top 4 killer. his kit has so much to it. Ranged attack, tracking with zombies, 115%, gen regression, ZOMBIES!

He will be like this until they have made enough bank and then the nerf hammers will start.

  • Its annoying. I made my own mind up on trixter by purchasing and playing him, but any time you bring up how trash he is you get lemmings going MoB mEntALiTy! StrEaMer!

  • @CLAUDETTEINABUSH said:

Sprint burst also gives more distance than dead hard, but I don't see people complaining about that. The 0.5 second dash is more annoying for killer players than the 3 seconds of 150% movement speed. Now, i know why it's so annoying it's because you feel, as killer, that you caught up with them and they can't loop you for longer, and then they deadhard and have one more chance. With Sprint burst you don't get that feeling because it's used before the actual chase begins for distance. Am I incorrect?

SB can be wasted while deadhard is always available when needed.

Dead hard fails against laggy vpn killers for reactive use while it excels against low ping killers and will essentially give you 3 lives against killers that are stuck in their power like nurse and blight.

I have low ping and see the full power of this perk daily.

Sprint burst can be more problematic in specific situations but like you said, it doesn't feel as bad for the killer and the survivor may not have it available the next time they are seen.

  • To fit a narrative and attempt to keep developer eyes away from the problem. (only read title)

  • s tier with the still present exploit thanks to terrible coding skills and a tier if they ever fix it.

  • @Beaburd said:

He's just strong now (I'd personally rate him somewhere in A tier, or high B), and people aren't accustomed to that happening so quickly.

Old Wraith's issue was sucking in a chase, and having a power whose strength was catching people off guard but was off-set by the weakness of not being able to capitalize on that surprise very often.

New Weaith's issue is still sucking in chases overall (albeit less with windstorm plays at pallets), but is very lethal when people are caught off guard since it's essentially a guaranteed free hit.

The frustration with this new guaranteed hit is that you can't really infinitely heal unless you have Self-Care. However, you can't afford to really do objectives when injured because he gets that free hit again if you do since you're almost always out of position on a gen. Even if you have a pallet or window nearby, he'll just block it, force you to run away from safety, and then catch up and hit you anyway.

The frustration gets compounded by the hit-and-run tactic where he doesn't chase anyone. At that point, you don't really interact with the killer much at all more than just end up accepting the free hits he takes on you and wondering when he'll come back to finish you when you're injured.

Even I'm personally confused on how to approach this hit-and-run play-style since I don't typically run self-care.

    ---

Something kind of alarming is that my description of his new power is akin to Spirit, in that you have limited interaction capability by not knowing where/how hits will be coming towards you. That said, I do still think hit-and-run Wraith has some counter-play; however, I'm just still figuring out what that is myself.

    He gets obliterated by spinechill.

I think I'm pretty explicit in never saying that. What I'm saying is that small game as a counter to NOED (and hex perks, because some people are just that obsessed with mutual exclusivity) isn't healthy.

Well in that case make pop and ruin base kit because why should a killer need to take perks to lengthen the game and counter gen rushing?

  • @Shymare_11 said:

Pip or safety pip? They try to design killers that averages around a 2k (6ish hooks), which I mean is a “draw” or tie for the killer team and collective survivor team. Thus, getting exactly 2 kills or 6 hooks would be a draw should respectively only earn a safety pip, or at least IMO. Obviously getting less or more hooks, yet still only getting 2 kills, will affect whether or not the killer pips or even somehow depips. That being said, I assume that the reason why killers don’t pip up from a 2k is because it is technically a draw in the devs’ eyes and they are the ones who made the system.

The problem is that the survivors would most likely pip from a "draw" game while the killer mostly never will.

  • So you think all killer perks should have in built counters for survivors even if they don't take any perks at all.

    wow...

  • how about remove both.

  • Another NERF KILLER MORE! thread, even though survivors already have 10 minute wait times.

  • The cooldown is the problem. They need to give charlotte something to deal with loops while giving a kicked victor 20 to 30 seconds cooldown.

That or find a better way to bind the two together so you can't roam the map as victor but switching is fast and efficient

i kinda do, it depends on the map, leaving some walls up can help you alot as killer, breaking some can do the same, so i think it gives me more control on how the game plays out as killer

AKA kick it or enjoy the infinite that everyone runs to. There is no real control or diversity offered ny breakable walls, only must kick or must leave. Usually at the expense of finishing a chase in your favour.

  • Well... if you learn her at high ranks, you will eventually derank to a point where you can learn. the problem is you will get full red squads all the way down to r10 thanks to the lack of killer players.

Survivors have taken hits to finish gens before for years too and has nothing to do with cancelling the grab, if you stay on the gen and no you can't finish it, you stand take a hit and finish the gen knowing you can finish it while they blade wipe.

Absolutely nothing to do with grab cancel issue.

I would agree with you if they actually stood up but they don't. They look like they are just holding M1 on the gen but you keep freezing every time you try to grab them.

  • Twins with spirit in a close second.

  • If i can't hook anyone then that's on me but if i am hooking people with chases lasting 20-30 seconds at most and the gens still get done in 4 minutes that ######### am i supposed to do about that?

As survivor i just cry when my team all get put in the basement within the first minute of the game and i watch it all unfold with bond..

  • I had someone do this to me yesterday. I literally swung at them and my character just did a t rex lunge (really short) and hit nothing instead.

The game can't seem to handle the pc to console conversion as i am always having aim dressing issues against console users at windows and corners when their ping is 70+ The game will just force me into the structure or window frame instead of hitting the survivor.

Can you call it an exploit rather than a tech please?

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2205926#Comment_2205926

not the grab cancel, the baiting. which is what i was addressing

please bestie use your critical thinking

Baiting gens is only a thing because they know the grab cancel is a thing :)

    Hook baiting makes sense.

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

this is... literally a non-issue. nor is it an exploit because it's intentional game design.

have you- have you heard of just waiting?

It is intentional that the killer can start the grab animation and even play it through to the shoulder only to have the game roll it back and freeze you in place while the survivor gets to run away or complete the gen/save in your face?

    wow.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

"I just want to relax and do my challenges while listening to music, but i can't with the game the way it is."

This is one way to say "I want a really easy game, so I want to play against 4 Solos".

Sound doesn't change much when 90% of the things in this game are visual unless you want to give yourself hearing loss or have sound altering software (cheating)

The population here is small and swf outweighs solo matches. The games are boring and formulaic and are the same thing over and over and over.

I can't even depip because the devs made the safety pip so easy to get it is practically impossible.

  • @danielmaster87 said:

If you're listening to music you're robbing yourself of a crucial game element: sound. Yes, the sounds are screwed up but don't take people's advice literally when they say "You might as well play music since you can't hear survivors anyway." That would be an exaggeration. Even with the loud chase music and screwed up survivor sounds, I can still somewhat hear the survivors. If you want to listen to music and win with killer, you have to go to yellow ranks or something.

Oh i can win with music, just not against ultra sweats.

I don't mind if i don't kill anyone but there is nothing left to learn and no plays that you can make while coms are being used.

They just split up and hold m1. Solo players can do this as well if they have enough hours and don't do stupid things.

  • Just play killer and let the survivors think they won. then search for it while they desperately try to tbag you in the exit gate.

  • just farm with the survivors.

  • You will realise one day that the SWF / survivors you want are the ones that gang bang the hook and chase you with a flashlight.

The real bm survivors are the ones that bang gens as fast as possible and only start to chase you and "clicky clicky" when there is one gen left with one or more sitting at 99 while they farm you for chase and unhook points.

I win most of my games, but i am not blind and don't think it is because of anything i did as killer. Just that the survivors were bad... They wasted time doing i don't know what, while i was chasing someone rather then doing generators.

Or they dragged me to other survivors allowing me to interrupt and down them.

If they are semi decent and able to loop for more than 10 seconds while coordinating gens and saves then you probably won't win.

Pyramid head is a good killer to try if you want to win most of your games. He has good anti loop and is 115%. Doc is another good killer that people sleep on. Learn shock timings and enjoy preventing and trapping survivors at pallets and windows.

There is a reason you wait 5 to 10+ minutes as survivor for a game. Just remember who this game is built and monetised towards and accept you won't win if the opponent has had enough time in game and is using specific tools to win.

  • It was easy with the old corn but the new corn is basically solid walls that you can walk through.

  • So they calculate survivor perks on a per survivor basis instead of a per game basis.. interesting.

Why measure something in such a bias way making killers x perk use per game so it shows a higher % when survivors don't need to all run the same perks and can be stronger by mixing perks to synergise for different situations.

The real graph would be in the 80-90% use per GAME because it was rare to ever get a game without a ds user before the nerf.

  • You can't nerf swf and they blatantly refuse to buff solo so the game is screwed.

  • I don't understand the point of this.

  • @Quake said:

Solo q is a miserable experience RN.

The worst times i've had in this game in 2 years.

Bad teammates, bad matchmaking, camping toxic r1 killers at 5 gens etc.Either SWF it or quit it.

This is why it is miserable.. The more players go into swf only matches the less players are available for solo play leaving only new players and very casual players.

On the flip side, swf is slowly killing off the killer population leading to longer queue times for survivor and in turn driving more people into swf to make the wait worth while.

    SWF ruins everything as usual.

  • @Pulsar said:

Until the objective power of SWF is addressed either via a nerf (somehow) or by buffing Solo Q, we shouldn't adjust anymore Killers.

Every rework either solidifies SWF'S state in the game or makes the Solo experience more miserable.

No new Killer reworks should be done until we make Solo = SWF.

Once they are on an even playing field, we can talk about more reworks.

The devs have already shown that they have zero intention of doing this with the last update to small game. Saying that they hope solo players find the totem counter useful means they will NEVER buff solo survivors at base and are going to force them to take perks for crap swf get for free.

Solo will always be weak because of this and the game is going to slowly die.

Because playing killer in high MMR is that goddamn miserable that can barely force myself to do it for the daily match (for the 300 battlepass exp). Stomping every non-SWF that doesn't stack 4 Dead Hards while getting teabagged on by every optimized squad just isn't fun. Having my evening taken hostage for 30 minutes per match by teams that have to prove to me they know how to loop every pallet on the map while leaving the last gen 99%ed JUST so i cannot open the door is not fun. I do not want to play it. I actively want to avoid that toxic garbage as much as i possibly can without getting massively penalized on the battlepass.

I'm at a point where i PAID MONEY last season to not have to do the killer challenges - and that's as someone who played more killer than survivor in 2020. It really has gotten that bad.

Well now you know why survivor q sucks and that there is no solution. It is only going to get worse until the game dies.

  • Killer sided at the start (solo and new to the game) and survivor sided at the end (SWF on coms, know loops and how to use 3rd person camera)

  • Play killers that ignore or can do something about pallets. Pyramid head is good or nurse.

Play spirit or if you want a challenge, wraith with good addons.

  • Why are 3 people hooked at the same time? Perhaps they think it is a lost cause and just want to hatch out and move on.(they think you are the bad ones)

it is KNOWN that survivors get robbed in terms of getting bloodpoints. killers get BP for literally finding a survivor, break walls, etc. killers can also use BBQ to get an additional 32k on top of their 20k+ average for the match...

you literally completely missed OPs point, they aren't "complaining" that they were chased by the killer the entire game, it's that when a survivor does this, they allow their teammates to complete other objectives so everyone can leave and causes the person who was chased to be robbed of BP. survivors can't decide when to drop a chase, only the killer can.

if the killer is dumb enough to chase a single survivor the entire game that's THEIR fault and their fault only.

That isn't how bbq works. If you get 20k and 4 hooks you make 40k. If you get 20k and 2 hooks you get 30k.

  • @oliviaa said:

he's a mediocre at BEST killer, but not the worst. i literally do not know what games u are playing but in my solo red rank lobbies, people suddenly forget how to play the game and tricksters absolutely demolish my team. all it takes is one god awful teammate that only runs in straight lines to snowball the entire game and cause us to lose. his main event is strong if u know what u are doing and his add-ons can be lethal in certain maps.

most ppl who complain ab him played one game with him on release and hasn't touched him since

Or a team that refuses to do generators while you literally do two laps of the map.

  • PP head is fine. I have been playing him recently and he will stomp any pub group and struggle against coms because of gen efficiency and no map pressure.

    Nothing needs to change.

You are 4 survivors. If he parked there, then just go as 3 or 4 man to a gen. Which takes a little over 30 seconds to complete. When he comes, everyone runs into a different direction. He can only chase one. The others complete that gen in just a few seconds. It takes him more time to pick someone up and walk to the hook.

man.. your killers must be robots or something.

What if he doesn't chase? All he needs to do is put everyone in madness and just protect the gens until someone goes down repairing one or the survivors give up.

  • @xenotimebong said:

Trust me, you wouldn’t like 4 Sprint Bursts any better.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2191621#Comment_2191621

I really doubt its a good tactic for them to camp a 3gen at the start of the game, you lose so much pressure in the end you wont be able to secure the 3 gens with all 4 survivors full health and not hooked once.

Solo players don't have the magical 5th perk of coms so they can't tell each other to not go near the doctor, likewise the other 3 survivors may not even know the doc is doing this and will inevitably waste pallets or go down around the 3 gen he is protecting. The doc has good anti loop if you know how to use it.

Doctor is different in a 3 gen situation because of the madness preventing you doing gens and wasting the survivors time recovering from it allowing the generators to regress more than a normal killer. These games can literally go for an hour if the generators are close enough and the doc has the correct addons.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Survivors can avoid getting 3 gened by simply having some map awareness.

If I finish a gen on a side of the map,I do my best to go complete one on the other one,so this way I wont have to worry about a 3 gen.

I had games where survivors rushed the first 4 gens, just to get stuck on the last one because they 3 gened themselves, cant really blame the killer for survivors not thinking it through on this.

I see what you are saying but just let me ask you this. What if just hypothetically the killer instantly headed to the 3 closest gens at the start of the game and sat there... now what?

Can you please tell me how this is the survivors fault? Either way you are dealing with a 3 gen with ir without the other 4 gens being completed.

  • @Tsulan said:

3 genning is always on the survivors side. If you don´t see that the killer is guarding a certain area, than thats on your team.

Killer can´t force you to do gens on the other side of the map.

So its somehow the survivors fault he parked his butt on the 3 gen the moment the game loaded in?

Please explain how dealing with a 3 gen at 5 gens is any different to dealing with it at 1 gen.

  • The only acceptable key nerf is one where all 5 gens must be complete before it can be used.
