why are people so against agreeing with streamers and and say its mOb MenTality or theyre sHeeP

If people want to agree with their fav streamer then let them its not hurting someone. it's like they think that people should only have one opinion and not change it at all. plus blight is pretty good with the new pov buff. It's not that When otz made a vid about blight suddenly everyone thought Blight is S tier its that he showed us why and made some good points. if people want to agree with dowsey that Michel is bad then let them even tho you don't agree with them. sometimes the streamers present some good points why they think so and so is the worst killer or is a good killer. If you disagree then present a good point why or at least don't be rude about it. i don't agree with scott that legion is the worst killer but I'm not telling people that if they agree with Scott their ShEEp.

plus why do you say they're ShheP or it's Mob MeNTaLity, it's pretty damn rude, I bet you once agreed with a streamer before. when that happens you want me to tell you that ur a ShEEp.

edit: btw if you let's say agree with otz that blight is S tier then don't force people to believe that's just as bad

plus don’t believe someone just to believe, at least have good evidence that so and so is good or bad

  • There's a difference between agreeing with someone and parroting someone without doing a little bit of critical thinking.

Then again, if someone here on the forums claims that people are just being sheep because some youtuber called blight S tier and now "everyone is saying so", I'd reply to them (as I actually did) they just lived under a rock until now or they're just getting mad over clouds, because the general consesus has ALWAYS been that Blight was a strong killer.

Also, youtubers and streamers opinions obviously get more visibility because they are "public figures" followed by many people

  • I agree in some points but I absolutely disagree with everything else this game was doing just absolutely amazing before those streamers put some made up rules that suddenly everyone started using those excuses not saying it's all bad it's good some things are called out but everyone blindly started believing what person behind a screen says so for example take Otz and tru3 they're fans both have different view on game why? Because they listen to their fave streamer and by that make a image of a game because in that moment it makes sense to them I agree it's okay for them to call out certain things and it's not their fault their followers are those "sheep's" they are allowed to say their opinion it's up to u to make own picture of the game u bought every single streamer has different view of game and they made that opinion while they're fans blindly follow it instead making their own opinion

  • The problem IMO isn't people agreeing with their favorite streamer its agreeing with their favorite streamer ALL the time even when they are wrong. I'm of the opinion that with all information you get you should have some semblance of skepticism.

It's fine to agree with something but if you agree with everything someone says without questioning it for yourself then I would say you are contributing to mob mentality.

You're right im just saying mainly about what killers are the best and worst

and it does suck that some viewer of certain streamer do create dumb made-up rules that they think everyone has to follow

  • Because people aren’t forming their own opinions thanks to streamers. If Tru3 says spirit is not op, everyone in the stream agrees.. like what the hell?

We all know spirit needs to be nerfed.

  • Scott is wrong about Legion and Dowsey is wrong about Myers and i'm being serious here. Trapper is even worse than those 2 since those have some control when they use their power, Trapper just hopes for the best and has the usage of his power limited to what he can carry and legitemetly has to abandon parts of the game to get to use his power. Myers and Legion without add-ons are far more maneagble than Trapper and Myers might lose some game to stalk but his power up far overshadows Trapper's power. So objectively speaking Scott and Dowsey are very wrong when it comes to who the worst killer is.

Regarding the issue at hand, that's exactly why i stopped following some streamers content actively, i'll watch every now and then to see their position on stuff as the game progresses and i can agree to some points but disagree on others. I'll say Spirit has no counterplay and even BHVR don't know how to add counterplay without making her useless, honestly i think the best they can do is add a faint streak effect for her hair or glass shards while she's phasing so survivors can track her if they can see the faint streak. This way there's an actual perceivable way to know she's phasing and where she's phasing to, BHVR has Wraith's shimmer coded already just adapt that functionality to Spirit when she is phasing but make it slightly less visible. It will still be a 50/50 in some scenarios but it's a 50/50 based on something like Red Glow mindgames are still 50/50, survivor either falls for them or doesn't.

i agree with you that dowsey and Scott are wrong but some people will just shun you for disagreeing with you which is wrong.

  • The problem isn't agreeing with streamers, it's not considering something unless a streamer says it. For example, I pointed out the shift+W problem a while ago, wrote a short code to do the math based on multiple variables (BL and SB, for example), showed examples, and so on. But it "wasn't a problem" until whomever made a video about it. Then the forum was overflowing with people acknowledging the issue.

There's also the problem of assuming that a streamer is automatically right about everything, no matter what they say. Argument from authority in its purest form.

  • The mob mentaltiy thing comes from people essentially believing 'if streamer says x then it's 100% factually correct'

They take a video of Otz or Tru3 playing a killer and losing then say something like 'This is the problem with dbd, this is why clown sucks' and so on. Or they take a video of someone winning a billion killer matches and say 'this is why the game is killer sided' or whatever

It's not all bad, I mean - Otz's tier list brought some more attention to Hag I think, because he put her so high up. It doesn't mean he's 100% factually correct but yeah

Personally I had an issue with the whole j-flick situation where a blight main streamer made a video defending it even though if you ask me the video was reiterating what had already been said, but a bunch of people took it as fact.

  • Streamers are just average people. Sometimes they’re right and sometimes they’re wrong. People who blindly agree with a streamer on a point just because they’re a streamer are being short-sighted, as are people who disregard something a streamer says just because it’s popular.

It’s the merits of the argument that should count. Unfortunately, there are plenty of sheep and plenty of contrarians out there who will agree/disagree without considering the actual point. People should give the benefit of the doubt though, rather than assume other people’s motives.

  • Because being a streamer doesn’t give anyone immunity to also be wrong.

There are people in their chats who are going to agree with them no matter how wrong they are, because they are biased not because they actually believe what they are talking about.

  • because of parroting.

When someone is parroting, if they are challenged they just go, let me post this video of a long discussion X went on or quote word for word what x said.

someone who is agreeing, will usually explain it themselves often using their own words.

  • Its annoying. I made my own mind up on trixter by purchasing and playing him, but any time you bring up how trash he is you get lemmings going MoB mEntALiTy! StrEaMer!

  • 99.9% of the time, when someone calls someone else 'sheep', they are using it an as excuse to dismiss all their talking points and counter-arguments because they are scared of debating & being proven wrong. 😁

theres literally only two opinions possible about spirit. I do think she’s busted. Some people don’t. I’m actually playing the game and I can form my own opinion. Try again.

  • There is nothing wrong with agreeing with someone as long as you find the logic to work. If someone says it is wrong, they probably think they are some kind of super butt baby genius that only has original thoughts and ideas. They aren't.

  • Because people are idiots. When someone goes into a streamers chat and starts shitalking and the chat shows them that they're wrong, the person calls the streamer an idiot and their chat sheep. People are idiots

Ah right, so they're a mob mentality because they and the streamer they watch went for option 1 and you went for option 2. Maybe you'll soon realise that people like to watch streamers whose opinions they agree with. Sharing the same opinion isn't mob mentality.

Yeah. A lot of Ayrun and Otz fans would agree with them if they said some BS like Trickster is the best killer in the game.

Yeah, but a lot of people really are sheep. They will agree with anything that their favorite streamer says, even if it's total BS.
