Erm.. thats the point of the perk. It doesn't need a change.
Go after the guy that unhooked or count to 12 if you really really want to tunnel someone out of the game with no chance of playing.
-
Here is a fun story. I cleared one side of the map of most pallets and the survivors screwed up and didn't do the gens on the side they were being chased the most. This lead to a 4 gen.
When the survivors attempted to bait me away do you think they ran me to an unsafe area where they could buy a little time for the save and heal, or do you think they tried to bait me to the empty part if the map full of pallets?
Killers are not robots.
This being said, tunnelling has become insane in solo q and i seem to be the only one running decisive strike. Perhaps if survivors stopped pouting and ran it again, things would change.

Pallets aren't meant to stun until they begin to fall in the animation.
Aka your vulnerable for the first .3-.5 seconds of the pallet throw animation.
Not a large window but its still there.
Also I have been noticing as survivor a lot of laggy hits this patch myself and laggy swings this patch as killer(aka I hit them then they teleport away onto the ground).
Including an invincible Adam rubber banding endlessly until the game DCed him.
I have had a couple of survs teleport on the ground, weird.
-
I got lots of groups with 3 reds and a yellow or brown survivor attempting to bully new killers. Let's just say they didn't have fun or get any clips for a yt montage and usually ended up salty with a DC
-
I didn't even budge... Still 2s1k. I did spend 2 days forcing my rank down only to discover at r9 you safety even if you never hook anyone. Then I shot back to R1 within a couple of hours because survs below red are really that bad and ranking is too easy....
I wish they just released MMR after the last test.

This has always been the case. If you are Killer and have good Ping, you dont have any advantage, in fact, you have a disadvantage compared to Killers with high Ping.
For me, Pallets behave like normal. I rarely got Hits through it before, unless the Survivor screwed up massively (up to a point where they did not drop the Pallet). But most of the time, I was not able to hit through Pallets, because I have 40 Ping at max. Meanwhile I still get hit by high-Ping Killers during Pallets, like it used to be.
So from my perspective, Pallets are like they have been before they were bugged. But I guess some Killers got too used to just ignoring Pallet Stuns, and calling it a shadow-buff now..
I was still able to get a hit in here and there before the pallet bug if i lunged at the correct time. Now it is just a magical barrier. I have even been stunned by it mid lunge when a survivor didn't even run through and just dropped it on the same side as me.

I just find it absolutely insolent after the killers have been abusing the pallet bug for weeks and now immediately after someone comes and complains & cries about pallets being too strong....
If this is a bug, then report it in the bug section and let the devs handle it.
By ping, I meant, that if u have high ping as survivor, you'll get hit trough pallets. Not the other way around...
High ping survivors have an advantage mate. Anything 70+ will drag the killers camera into corners when they try to hit you because "aim dressing" glitches out and can't handle it.
As survivor with low ping i find myself being hit by nurse players before they even finish the blink on my screen and have been hit scanned by pp head, falling on the floor before ROJ even comes out of the sword.
Low ping sucks in this game.
Even with this i was able to run a killer around the entire map and got a pallet stun at every pallet that they didn't respect. This never happens to me.

I have noticed this as well, before when people go for a pallet save if you were quick you could get a M1 off on them even though the pallet still comes down on you however since they fixed the pallet stun bug I have noticed that is no longer the case. It is now impossible to react, the stun is active before you can even control your killer after picking someone up. Honestly this seems like a bad change to me, it use to be a timing a stealth thing, rewarding smart play for the survivors, now it's just free with no risk anymore.
have not been in this situation since the update yet but it proves they changed it if you can't trade a hit for the pallet save any more.
-
Hmm.. console player or ping 60+? just interesting to see why it is different for you.
-
@Pilot said:
And what if the stun is instant ?
Isn't that how it's supposed to work? Or what am I missing here? Are hits supposed to go trough the pallet?
Do you have any idea how many BS hits happen trough pallets against high ping killers? Way, way too many.
Unbelievable. The killers were having the time of their life abusing the pallets for weeks and now after the fix and the slightest of buffs they're crying their hearts out?
Kindly bugger off....
So i should be punished for having sub 20 ping?
Please justify how me having good internet and not using a vpn should be at a disadvantage to people who are.
FYI the bugged pallets never allowed me to get unfair hits either and worked just as they are now but with no stun.
the stun was moved to the half way point because instant stuns were too punishing on the killers and made pallets safe af.

Flashlights are supposed to feel uncomfortable as killer lol
You are not supposed to click them like that at a killer. Blinding them is fine. Its when they click it on and off and on and off that it is uncomfortable.
Just remove the yellow flash off the screen and the problem is solved.
-
The problem is that the grind isn't to bad if you have been playing from day one. New players get absolutely destroyed by it and gifting them bp or unlocking x number of perks would make the older players mad without compensation.
-
People who join with random strangers on the net that they met in game for the sole purpose of using discord to its full potential and winning every game is toxic.
People who know each other irl and use discord is less toxic
Flashlights are not toxic, annoying yes but not toxic when used for the intended use.
Strobing the killers face with a flashlight is toxic and can cause a seizure so should really really be fixed.. but it is bhvr and won't be unless some big wig is about to make bad press on the issue (colour blind options)
-
Hatch shouldn't even be a thing so be happy it is even in the game.
It creates so many boring stand offs where survivors enter hatch mode and do nothing until you find them crouched in a corner somewhere, praying you find the other guy instead.
It is a trash mechanic.
-
They have... i have stupidly low ping and pallets are instant stun now. If you are lagy like 90% of streamers (60+ ping) things don't look like they have changed. At sub 20 ping survivors literally freeze you mid lunge and you float back to your side and get stunned the moment they hit space.
I actually require a vpn now to make the game fair. I don't want to but how is this fair on me? Likewise being low ping also screws me over as survivor. I was literally being hit scanned by a pyramid head earlier today and going down before the attack even came out of the sword.
-
I went from r1 to r1
-
my rank has not changed.

You named games that have FoV sliders, but didn't elaborate on anything. Sweatlords on those games tend to play on higher FoV (to a tolerable limit, at a point it just becomes ridiculous and everything looks like a modern art exhibit). Your average run-of-the-mill player might spike it up a few degrees for that little bit of an extra boon (in addition to it just feeling like you move faster), but not your DBD Ninjas and Tru3-talents (or however you spell it).
But that's not even the main issue. The most prominent reason a slider is there is because it adds another complicating factor to balancing. Remember moon bouquets? Even thought they didn't tilt the game in favor of either side, really, they were removed because having to account for lighting changes when designing new assets and maps, seeing if this would be too bright, seeing if this would be nigh invisible, was just too much to handle. Same thing here; some walls are meant to be blind spots for you, some are meant to be places you can look over.
I'm assuming "accessibility" and FoV is in reference to motion sickness. The unreal engine has blur effects from turning, so no amount of FoV is really going to fix that. If it's to the point where it's a threat to wellbeing, it may just be an unfortunate fact that they maybe shouldn't be playing games. Epilepsy is a life-threatening danger to some, but that doesn't mean they're going to remove doctor's screen effects out of that alone. You can't please everyone.
They should really do something about flashlight spam though. I don't have epilepsy and can stare at flashing colours no problem but the screen effect from flashlight spam feels uncomfortable even to me.

This has to be the actual worst event BHVR has ever done , In order for survivors to have a chance at finding the Gnome they have to run around aimlessly and kill themself to hopefully find it and then have to escape afterwards???
4/5 of the playerbase have to kill themeselves and thier teamates just for 1 charm
Meanwhile all killers have do is equip Blood warden and get easy 4k's and get to take advantage of the event
How did this make it into live?? , it's just a suvivor suicide mechanic and an easier time for killers and A GIANT temporary buff to blood warden
Just play one game of killer once in your life and get it.. It unlocks for both killer and survivor.
Survivors will usually stick around at the exit gate to brag and tbag you long enough for you to find it.
-
Only if we get that achievement in dbd lol.

@Zagrid said:
If everyone has access to the slider, then no one is at a "disadvantage"
Anyone can set the FOV to whatever they want, and whatever is comfortable to them will let them enjoy the game more and give them whatever advantages they want
Clearly, it would have to be limited to a certain point, but not having it under the argument of it being unfair to players is dumb.
Example being, literally any competitive first-person and third-person game in existence. Just to name a few.
Overwatch, Warzone, Titanfall, Gears, TF2, and Apex. (Not all esports level games, but games where players go against each other in a competitive environment)
None of those games have any issues allowing their players to alter their FOV without the need to hamper themselves by bringing something in-game to do it. Every player has access to it, and it comes down to personal preference of what FOV they want to use.
So with that argument completely busted, why does shadow born still exist and why is it not an option to have a FOV slider?
Adding a FOV slider would free up shadow born to be something more interesting than just an option to improve game quality at the cost of 1/4th of your build. It would also be a great QoL update for people that get motion sick at the low FOV that killer has.
This shouldn't be an argument about what is or is not fair to players because honestly, there isn't a single world where 10 degrees of extra view to your sides would cost someone an entire game. This should be an argument of accessibility. We got colorblind settings after years of telling BHVR to do it, I think it is about time to do the same with a FOV slider.
In general, perks shouldn't be tied to accessibility issues in the game. And FOV is an accessibility issue for some.
The examples you gave are all equal team vs equal team shooters. this is a 1v4 cat and mouse game. you are basically comparing a 2d platformer with the newest darksouls game and asking why they are not identical.

For what it's worth it was the bugs and technical issues which pushed me over the edge.
Gen grabs don't work, hook grabs almost never work, open a locker and the survivor jumps out at the same time, leaving you locked in place while they escape...how does that even happen?, plagues puke connects but survivors don't get infection, Nurse's M2 spam, billys ghostsaw, trappers traps not working, numerous spirit bugs, various other killer bugs, numerous sound issues and the sound now sounding so garbled it's unpleasant to play
Fast gens, bad maps, overpowered perks with no counterplay are one thing, but just being screwed by things above which give survivors free escapes makes it feel like the game itself is against you.
Sound use to be so clear before they nerfed it all for the rank 20 babies :( Can't have killers hear anything can we?

@Uistreel said:
It's almost certainly due to the lack of killer players in comparison to survivors. Ideally at all times the ratio of killer players to survivor players should be 1:4, while realistically it's more than likely something like 1:15 if I were to guess. When it's day and everyone's online, there are enough players on both sides to make up for it, but around night when most log off, the lacking number of killers will lead to considerably longer survivor queue times.
Only way to fix it really is to:
1) Captivate killer side somehow
2) Completely break the already flawed matchmaking system
Err.. people log on during the afternoon/night while everyone is out doing life things in the day. You got it the wrong way around bud.

Queues at 5am are instant, but from literally 4pm-4am (a 12 hour window) on EST time zone it takes too long to find a match to the point where I'll close the game and play something else
Why won't you play killer and help to solve the problem?
-
I found 3 of them on one of the new farm maps. I just "failed" as killer and walked around while survivors desperately attempted to t-bag me giving me time to find them all.
-
He is talking about the cheat where you look up and bug out the game to 180 hit.
-
Perhaps they should buff solo survivors because you can't ignore swf being in the game either.
-
as long as iron will is in the game then stridor must also exist.

Cries with 15 ping and everyone else has an advantage over you :'{

The online subscription is the only thing encouraging them to make consoles. They design and sell the console to you at a loss and make up that loss and profit from the online subscription.

My main problem with her is, is that she is boring. For both sides - as Killer, if the Survivors dont cleanse, you are an M1-Killer with Instadown but no power. As Survivor, if the team does not cleanse, you lose Bloodpoints, because you cannot heal people.
She is alright strength-wise, not too weak but also not too strong.
However, they really need to nerf her Corrupt Purge. It is just stupid strong, when she has it, she can basically ######### a whole team over, which is the reason why many Survivors dont cleanse. You see how strong it is when Survivors prefer to stay injured the whole game without any way of hiding their location.
So they should nerf her Corrupt Purge, but also give an incentive to cleanse. Something like going down after a certain amount of time (outside of a Chase) while being fully infected or a big Slowdown. Something which does not force you to immediatly cleanse, but makes you actually want to cleanse.
I guess, this would help her a lot, a Survivor Team would not get demolished if people cleanse and Plague would have more access to her Corrupt Purge.
If they nerf it then what would be the point using it?
I guess a shorter duration if the survivors are actually forced to cleanse, but anything else would Main event it.
-
Because it is where you find the swf squads.
-
@VaJaybles said:
I just check to see where the corrupt gens are, cleanse a few totems and then hop on a gen. If the killer finds me, I run to the corrupt gens and hopefully scare the survivors in hiding to move to the other side and make progress.
Awesome! the killer gets full use of their perk by reducing survivor resources while you can't do gens that may be the 3 gen the killer desires!
Good thinking.
-
I know.. it is so easy to hide as survivor so i have no idea why nobody does it.
-
The problem with this idea is that you are endorsing their backwards way of "buffing" solo players. you make yourself and your team weaker by taking aura perks or totem perks while swf still get full meta second chance and the benefit of these perks without needing them
-
Had a demogorgon game where he would just shred every pallet and get hits that he shouldn't have.
This game can't seem to handle crossplay as it is usually the console killers that get dodgy hits and console survivors that mess up the killer auto aim and other things.
-
The solution is easy but will never be done because it requires actual programming. Make the hooks take the survivor somewhere random like pphead cages. Increase gen times or gen count to leave.
Done.

Where I'm at, I play Solo survivor, never SWF, and camping ruins every single game. Probably 7/10 of my matches (red ranks). And *no one ever just does the gens and leaves*. The Killer is almost always rewarded for being a scumbag.
The problem comes in that unless someone is running Kindred, as Solos, no one knows the first person is being camped until it's too late, especially with stealth Killers. Usually, when someone is being camped they disconnect from the match, or kill themselves on the hook. So the Killer goes to the next survivor and the scenario repeats; disconnect or hook suicide, which means the game falls apart for the last two survivors and the Killer takes away over 20k BPs at least.
I'm really confused at the people saying it's not a problem or just rolling their eyes when other players talk about this. There certainly either isn't enough incentive to stop this practice, or the penalty (in bloodpoint loss) isn't enough. It's a miserable experience for me and I often just give up and stop playing for the day.
I posted these in another thread yesterday, but just a sample of my games at red ranks:

The Myers just stood there camping the basement.
- The Ghostface facecamp-teabagged me through the remaining generators.
- The Wraith literally just beat me on the hook
- Bubba- no need to say more
- Bubba and Nea working together to farm me
I don't d/c when I'm camped and will hang onto the bitter end, but most Solos will try to rescue rather than do gens. I think it's because all Solos know how bloody miserable it is to get no Blood points and endure some small d- basement dwelling teenage neckbeard getting off on making another player miserable. If you know anything about DBD, you know hard-camping from the start (not endgame) is considered a scummy tactic. So these jerks choose it fully aware they're ruining someone else's game. I think these days at Red ranks, Killers who unbashedly camp are just farming bloodpoints from Solo matches because w/o the ability to coordinate, it's like shooting fish in a barrel.
But again, most solo survivors in my experience disconnect or hook suicide if they get hooked/camped first. So the Killer gets more downs/kills for those of us that remain. Everyone but Killer de-pips.
All that will happen eventually, is the Solo survivor pool will drop in numbers, maybe like, looking for an SWF group to make the game playable. So more SWF's will form, and as Killer myself, I dislike facing them so it will be discouraging especially for new Killers trying to learn. Someone else on the forums called- it's a negative feedback loop.
Killers often don't like playing against SWF's
Killers camp/tunnel the crap out of Solos
Solos feel they have to join SWF's to have a chance in a match
SWF population grows
Killers face more SWF's feel discouraged.
Next time you show pics of this please include the gen count.
-
Here i am raging at survivors with 70 ping while i have sub 20 to 25 ping as killer because pallets instantly stun and aim dressing gets messed up by it.
60 to 70 ping is just as unfair to a killer with good ping as a vpn killer is to you.
-
how bout no. Survivors already have a smaller hitbox and don't catch on anything while rubbing their face into walls etc...
try to grind against anything like survivors do and watch your killer get slowed and stuck, convenient isn't it?
-
EGC was designed for survivors and put in as a bandaid to fix hostage situations. If we actually wanted it to be a threat egc would start the moment the last gen is completed and that is how it should work, but the money comes first.
-
You find a 3 gen and trap them while camping the ever loving snot out of whoever you down first
she is a boring killer and needs a massive rework to allow survivors to deal with traps beyond a swf or having an item.

Hillbilly nerf wasnt only about the overheat. They made his fov way smaller, they added the overheat and not only that but the cooldown is too slow and now you have the cooldown and the overheat wich makes 2 COOLDOWNS,they nerfed his curving radius and now you cant curve easily, they increased the chainsaw hitboxes, they increased the cooldown after missing a chainsaw by 2 seconds like the twins, they increased the bumping into object time by 2 seconds, now when you’re stunned by a pallet you lose all the chainsaw charge, they added the stupid sounds when youre using the chainsaw, now you cant chainsaw a survivor when vaulting a pallet but it automatically breaks the pallet, they deleted all his addons and created new useless ones. He is the ONLY killer with that many nerfs,he is the record holder with the most nerfs. The devs wanted to punish every billy players by destroying him in every way possible. He was perfectly balanced and required more skills than nurse but isnt as powerful but they did that, without explaining anything.
Bingo.
Can't stand when a survivor is stupid but gets away with it because the devs need to baby new potential whales. If you ever get cornered at a pallet just vault and you always get away.

i got stuck at rank 3 for ages but have made it to rank 2. Time of day makes a huge difference as survivors are potato and i get nothing but anti loop killers that slug and sweat so hard if i play at peak time. If i play really late at night then killer become more varied and survivors can loop for more than 10 seconds.
