You can't nerf spirit without destroying her.
If iron will trumps stridor then we have a killer that can't see or hear with their power.
on the other hand, spirits power is too strong giving no feedback to the survivor and it being too easy to hear survivors when injured. (even not injured depending on how loud they have the game)
Someone suggested she get stunned every time she comes out of her power, but people need to think how this feels to play as killer. Put simply it is horrible. It will nerf both her chase potential and map pressure (things survivors drool over at night) but it will also wipe her from existence like hillbilly or nurse because it isn't fun
Deathslinger has the best way to deal with a "stun" on their power. The player can choose to reload and lose ground on the survivor or just chase as a 110% killer. Something similar would need to be done with the spirit meaning they would need to remove the passive charge and replace with an active one that the player can choose to do but it would basically reset the chase by slowing her for x seconds.

What were they trying to adjust that broke them in the first place? you don't break pallets unless you were trying to shadow nerf/buff something.

The mind games at tiles like T L walls and shack are guesses but it is equal fair guess for both sides. It gives both sides a chance to choose something based off their surroundings and the side that outplays the other gets rewarded. With Spirit, the guessing game is entirely in her favor because survivors have no information while the Spirit has all the information to work with. This video explains it better than me:
There is no mind game at shack. that is one of the safest tiles in the game.

wglf is annoying. I want to use it because survivor bp is so abysmal but you literally throw the game to do it in solo because nobody is on gens and everyone wants the unhook points....

Perks on both sides can dramatically alter both.
If that isn't balanced I don't know what is.
You get good survivors or swf as killer and idiots as survivor. what perks alter the game on the killer side that can't just be disabled at the start of the game?

Because you need to sit there and contemplate your mistakes before moving onto the next match.. or punching the wall.

I am just peeved that OoO doesn't have a range limit like the current one.

Eh I'm not sure I agree. Maybe against Blight dead hard is better, because you can literally just dead hard into him in an open area and there's nothing he can do about that, but sprint burst will get you to tiles that you're gonna be much safer at against high mobility killers like Billy. Against Nurse, if you sprint burst very early and stay as far away as possible from her she probably won't ever engage in a chase with you because it would take forever for her to catch you because of her cooldown and only able to use 1 blink for mobility (which isn't much faster than a 115% killer holding W)
Its slower. 1 blink nurse takes longer to cross ormond then deathslinger. i timed it.

This is all pointes though. BHVR know what he needs but clearly don't want to do it.
They are even nerfing him with the map updates and the trap struggle update.

They are purple so good luck always having them.

Maybe because some overall balance changes are needed as well?
Remember what company we are talking about here. We need to think glacial balance change speeds.

It's probably because among high-level players, the options for viable builds are really low. Making the meta more diverse is not a bad thing; they just need to make sure that nothing is TOO strong.
It will never be used beyond memes or boredom if it isn't as game changing as the current meta perks.

The rift is incredibly SLOW to progress... specially compared to other season passes on other games.
The one on Destiny you can complete in 2 weeks if you play a few hours a day.. The Rocket League one is even easier..
Don't know why they make it so damn grindy to complete theirs.. I just ignore it, don't even consider buying it anymore.
They want you to pay for tiers.

Yep.

Sweats will vs sweats and quit while normal people will have fun.
It will allow bhvr to get some real stats and balance the game as well.

Anyone else in red ranks who has uses the trickster will see what I'm talking about. Especially vs rank 1s, if you use the trickster, most will loop for infinity in the shack. Unless you have 1000s of hours as a killer, in red ranks you are better of using anyone else. Because the trickster is usable in all other ranks, even purple. But as soon as I hit the red ranks after the de-ranking, I keep getting looped like there was no tomorrow by red ranks. And the trickster is basically an M1 killer in most non short loops, since you have land 16 hits and survivors in red ranks know how to avoid the hits. In the jungle gyms, and or shack, so expected to get looped for minutes. From what I have learned he is too weak vs survivors who know what they are doing.
He isn't even good for deranking thanks to the safety pip being way way way too easy to get.

Well I am both survivor and killer player. While I agree solo can be quiet a problem just because a SWF groups have some advantages does not mean that Solo should be buffed. The game is actually designed to play as solo mode. Yes SWF have advantages and yes at solo you cant choose your teammates, they can leave you on hooks and etc... but the buff would not solve this problems and I think that it will even do worse in some contest.
I was playing solo quiet a lot time and then during my solo matches I watched some survivors and ask the good ones to team up with me. We dont use any comms or dont know each other perks. I only know them as good solo survivors and we made quiet a team with them. Just play solo, find nice survivors and team up with them is my best advice.
Solo does not need any buff. Some SWF gain advantage yes but they gain that advantage by using 3rd party softwares such as comms which is considered out of the game mechanic and you should not be using ( However people will which is normal and obv).
Clearly it does since you refuse to play it and swf with people to avoid it.

You are aware that there are 4 of you right?
"just do bones" is referring to all the survivors to get it in their heads that they need to cleanse on sight even if it is dull.

Ah, right, better go tell Otz or Tru3 that moonwalking doesn't do anything. Lol
I guess you ignore it when he moonwalks and the survivor is good?
True literally goes "mmm yeah im not going to waste my time, this survivor is too aware." and walks off. Happens multiple times a stream.

So the argument is that Killers need to be strong enough to deal with survs that can loop well? Effectively, that boils down to "that surv plays better than me, better make my role stronger." Is that really the argument you want to make?
You know moonwalking doesn't so anything right? You just stand at safe spots with 2 to 3 different views on where the killer is at most loops.

Bro...then just depip.... rank does nothing for you, there is no benefit, you don't lose anything going to a lower rank.
Pls focus on having fun first, play killers you like with the perks you like and if that means "being stuck" at for example rank 10, who cares? Enjoy your matches
you can't depip without doing nothing. the safety pip is too easy to get.

Fun fact, most of my opponents hold W, predrop pallets and slam gens. Most of my trials last less than five minutes, for which I say thank gods killer ques are instant (I wonder why). I have been extremely vocal about this. The only killers that can compete with this are Spirit, Nurse and Blight, and I'm genuinely tired of all 3.
Thankfully, for the last two days I've been having relatively normal trials where people aren't glued to gens even when teammates are hooked. I'm actually getting looped. And even t-bagged. And sabotage plays. And people heal. It's been fun, and if that's your norm then I agree with you. Killers always stand a chance. I win some, I lose some, it's great. Admittedly I still mostly lose, but that's because my m1 skills have heavily dropped due to lack of practice.
But it's not my norm. Red ranks in the evenings on AU servers is normally just a series of teams competing with each other for fastest gens and most pallets dropped. Going against that as Billy? Huntress? Even Plague? Nope. Not happening. Your skill doesn't matter.
Edit: Forgot to close my point: This is why people play Spirit. Of those three that can deal with this, she's the easiest. And no, these teams aren't the best of the best, but they are extremely efficient. So why learn difficult killers like Blight or Nurse when you could play Spirit and still be putting in more effort that your opponents?
Nah man. according to people here it is a you problem and survivors never hold w loop well or do gens.

Unless you break into their office and see the real data for yourself then i would take anything with a grain of salt.

I want the opposite. a killer that spawns an extra gen or 2 that must be done.

Ahem... need to continue that list.
110 m1 killer with no mobility
Slow down when using his power
Delay when exiting power
Super slow down and massive delay when using alt ability
No control over alt ability
poor accuracy with ability
Ability can be countered by wiggling...
please explain how he is not?

You're talking about players who know what they're doing.
2/3rds of this playerbase doesn't play at this level so it's irrelevant.
I am just good enough at killer to realize how bad I am at it and I typically run very little generator defense if at all - and yet I can kill 3/4 players I run into without putting much effort into it. Unlike the people you are talking about, I'm not expecting to win every game as killer and that's fine. These people... these people who started this conversation about gen speeds often wipe out most of the teams they run into. I don't know why they're complaining.... they obviously beat most of the playerbase.... seems to me they're just making excuses for that small bit of the playerbase that's better than them.
If you mess with the generator speeds, the majority of the playerbase will suffer, PERIOD
The problem with this is that people have the ability to get better at the game while killers have hard caps on what they can physically do.
You balance for bad players and you slowly destroy your game. There is a reason people complain about queue times and it is because people have stopped playing killer and either move on or play survivor only.

So you want the survivor to sit on a generator for 2 minutes and expect them to enjoy the game just so it's easier for you? A survivor on a gen that takes 80 seconds give you enough time to patrol and find the survivor, if you're struggling then maybe think about your strategy instead of blaming the gens
There are 4 survivors and only 5 gens to do.
-

Poor players always blame mechanics they don't understand. Survivors yell about tunneling, bad killers yell about gen speeds, bad battleship players in World of Warships whine about torpedos, bad heavy players in World of Tanks whine about artillery, bad players in Blackwake whine grapeshot volleys just as you grapple a ship, people who stand still whine about getting headshot by snipers, mindless rushers whine about corner campers in your favorite FPS
Bad players deflecting blame to game mechanics is just as certain as death and taxes.
Thats totally it, it isn't like we don't have multiple "tournaments" and the depip squad proving otherwise. nah.. ignore that "nobody" plays like that right?
Simple callouts like who will save and general killer location change nothing at all and 2 people on gens at all times is the killers fault and nothing else.

"Holding w is a problem. It takes no skill and if you hold w, use no pallets and just take 2 hits, you can waste like 50 seconds of a killers time." Am I playing the same game as y'all? I'm not great at estimating time either but... like... what? What rank are you? My first couple games today, I wound up getting caught early at a really bad gen, out in the open, and I definitely exploited the OP survivor strategy of.. running.. away... FIFTY seconds? Are you actually serious? I need to take notes from whatever survivors you're playing against. I would love to actually get to have a decently long chase. ... It's sarcasm right?
These forums are fascinating.
Kudos to the OP for actually having a realistic mindset of adapting to the game in whatever state it's in. Not making a judgment on the change idea but seriously G*d bless you for just... dealing with it. You must be older than 25 or play fighting games or both or something. Imagine... just adapting to a constantly evolving (and therefore buggy) game.
I hit a survivor at long wall with trixter and it took 25 seconds to catch up for the second hit just holding W.

Not really. IF you are out in the open or go for one to many loops yes. otherwise there are to many pallets all within reach of each other after he breaks a pallet with the saw.

But if you want to offer something to the conversation, I'm happy to listen to it.
My summary is quite accurate.

@Bwsted said:
I'm a former Billy main. Bubba is currently one of the strongest killers in the game. Very underrated because many players still keep picking him to simply troll and camp.
Just like any other killer with default mobility, he needs to be played territorially. That's where he shines by creating dead zones faster than arguably anyone else. At that point he snowballs with ease.
He deals with pallets much more easily and faster than Billy, who has to manage when to bait by feathering, respecting, not respecting and curving. And if he fails any of that he gets punished.
Bubba literally needs to just pull up his chainsaw and dash, not even mind gaming if he doesn't want to. He either gets the down or the pallet. The counter is to stun him mid dash, but dedicated servers can't handle that at all even before this patch. Even when timed correctly, 9 out of 10 times the survivor gets the stun score event, but Bubba doesn't get stunned and chainsaws the pallet, sometimes with an awkward animation while servers make up their minds. Then he's right on top of the survivor. And that's if they don't get hit through the pallet in the first place.
Also, I don't understand what 'using windows against him even with Bamboozle' even means. Unless it's a Bubba who just predictably beelines to the window and the survivor runs early (with all the associated risk), there's no using a window. That's literally the point of the perk. Window's blocked, throw pallet or get chainsawed. It's not rocket science. It's his best perk without a doubt.
And did I mention they actually buffed his camping and he's able to down survivors through BT now?
Holding W works only with a significant lead already. However, if you pick up Bubba and start running from a corner to the opposite one of the map you're gonna get stomped. The issue is not mobility, but bad map management.
Long winded way of saying just camp and 3gen but you do you.
-
Top mid tier but if survivors play safe and don't screw around you can't win as bubba.

While this is true you can get the gate to about 20 % before the first light. So it took her atleast 16 sec.
Also gen speeds are okay. Just apply more pressure. Force chased to take place where other people are working on gens. It's still possible to when without gen slowdown perks.
I wish i was still at a level where i though i had control over the game as killer sigh.. good times.

The objective time isn't a race. Killer can't win by racing active survivors who split on gens and do them efficiently. The way killer wins is by creating a pressure point of no return, and making the survivor team so disjointed that they cannot progress nor stabilize to the point where they can pick back up again. This isn't a "race" in the truest, most honest sense of the word. It's a wager, Can killer stop Survs or not?
This game is killer sided, except for it being prohibitively difficult for you to play killer so well as to prove it. EVERY killer can win by force if played optimally, and there are even a handful of people who are getting to the point where we can try to prove it.
Have hope! Gen times aren't the final say in dead by daylight.
That's a long winded way of saying "just camp"

Honestly, it's good that the old sabo no hooks meta is back for a bit, gives the cry baby killer some perspective at what the game use to be like for killers and how easy they have it now lol.
Is it easier? technically yes. The only difference is we went from run the infinite and sabo all hooks, to run the loop and hold m1.
The goals of both sides are not balanced when you consider the time required to complete them. It isn't just the time to catch a survivor, but also the time to traverse the map.
-
This happens when you play against someone with bad ping or is using a vpn from another country.
I have 12-30 ping and i can't hit through a pallet to save my life. if anything it is tilted in the survivors favour and freezes me mid animation and pushes me back.
-
There is a reason sabo isn't buffed. you are literally taking away the killers objective. It would be the same if a killer could permanently disable generators and trap you in game until you can use the hatch.
Stop trying to buff perks that destroy the game for killers.

@Jasix said:
I like going against SWFs as killer - slightly more of a challenge - while at the same time - easy to exploit their sense of altruism :) I find a lot of killers simply think they should be able to m1 and special ability over and over and win the same way every time. My advice - learn to adapt. Which is also the advice I give survivors when dealing with killers who tunnel or camp.
I play survivor 50% of the time and MAYBE 10% of that I team with 1-2 other people. My escape rates when SWFing compared to solo are barely increased. This notion that all (or even a majority) of SWFs are toxic or overpowered is hyperbole.
I don't want to sit at a hook and wait...
-
They said they were going to buff solo q years ago and have still done literally nothing.
-
I had 5 games end with a 3 man hatch out yesterday.

I was around during the old sabo days. We should never bring this back into the game unless you want killers to gain the ability to disable gens. I mean, you can always hatch out right?
