  • Stake outs pretty solid espically if you struggle with ruin. Also picked this tidbit up from oh tofu if your doing a gen with a toolbox you get more skill checks. Which means more greats or ruin skill checks.
  • Honestly moris are fun every once in a while but I find I prefer running streamers and wreaths to get extra points. Its like candy if you overdo it it tastes awful and dull. I would love if you hooked all 4 survivours once you would get a free mori. Would be great for the health of the game and make having to use mori offerings for rituals less of a pain in the ass.

Or just you know, get The Spirit and obliterate all if not most red rank lobbies like I do.

SWF can become quite problematic but with the right addons, you'll even destroy them.

Imo she is the second best killer in the game as shes hard to track for survivours and massively rewards good predictions. I wish there were more people playing her more aggresively instead of defensively as its a joy to be in a chase with a spirit  instead of playing the hook guessing game.

I don't think you are using Pig correctly if you think her power doesn't help in chases. Use her Ambush at pallet loops to end chases quicker.

Would recommend watching Psychoscorpionz as well. He is a Pig main, and uses her very well.

Idk, only an absolute idiot is falling for an ambush hit at a pallet. I literally can't think of a single time I've ever been hit by an ambush at a pallet. Not only is it quite easy to read but as soon as she crouches you just move on to the next pallet and she just lost time there in between animation locks for nothing.

Harder with the video tape leather straps add ons. As your chance to react is tiny as she crouches fast and can fake a direction if the loop is small enough. Sometimes a pig will enter crouch out of sight during a chase and if you do just abandon the pallet its quite possible the pig can just fake the crouch and just continue chasing to get a hit.

Their are a lot of mindgames you can play with this killer that you as a survivour will have to play otherwise forfeit a free hit going out into the open.

Eh I see what you're saying but just in actuality that almost never happens that well. Never seen it work that well in any game I've played at rank 1 and I play a lot more than most.

Well that trick i mentioned where you crouch out of sight and ambush fast is key to getting those hits if you act to slowly the survivour will have enough time to prep there positon and adjust their camera accordingly.
Been playing her a lot at rank 1 recently and have  been having a lot of success. Even some of her trap meme builds have been snagging me kills and head pops believe it or not.

Had a hilarious moment where twice i landed an ambush hit on a player in a chase and they immediatly dced. I nearly broke down laughing. Ardeatha and truetalent have a large catalouge of videos if ya want to see the tricks in action.

Not faulty, designed for low tier play. He only gets speed increase when moving in a straight line turning reduces accelaration. If the add ons were faulty it could at least be fixed no its worse then that they are terrible designed.

Pretty sure the entity gives every killer supernatural strength. Have you seen the doctor that man is way to swoll to be a doctor.
  • Games are back to a semi reasonable queue time standard but thx for the info Master. I look forward to seeing you all in the fog.
  • I would personally not recommend doc great for farming points but a pretty mediocre killer. Pig is tricky the challenge will be figuring out what areas you can dash attack from and ones you cant.

Watch out for survivours who abandon loops when they see you crouch if your fast enough you can uncrouch and get them before they get to the next loop. The best position to dash attack from is on the pallet. When you start the dash try to fake the direction your going to push them to the other side and then turn aroudn this needs to be done fast and requires some practise.

Your power has a lot more oppurtunities to work once you use the video tape leather straps add ons but eventually you will run out of those add ons so try and prioritise them in the bloodweb.

I have an alternative pig build for traps on the forums but again its not to reliable just more of a fun build with big payoff and high risk.

Deranking is not bannable, dont spread false information.
    Only DCing is bannable

The main way people derank is by DCing. You lose two pips for DCing as apposed to losing only one for not doing anything the whole match. It makes sense for people to DC in order to derank because it's faster. Deranking may not be bannable. I see it as "forced deranking". That can be bannable.

I thought if you do nothing you get disgraceful defeat. Via stealth freddy or wraith. I got this before in the old hook system when i started the game.
  • Heres a nice simple fix for this when playing survivour just stand up for your killer. Not every killer player has thick skin and a compliment or two can really help make their experiance better. Offer advice and dont forget to drop a gg. You might just make a persons day and really isnt that just a nice thing to do.

Even as killer ill try and be nice to other survivours if their getting picked on. Remeber these people who are rude to you arent wortj the hassle if they come at you like dicks just leave lobby and ignore em. The only opinion that matters is a polite one.

So i wanted to put the question forward why is it that i have to endure 15 minute queue times just to play killer. It's ridiculous at the point of 5 minutes i should be getting players regardless of rank. Everywhere i have look for solutions i get the same answer depip or derank. Do you realize how messed up that in order to play the game i have to waste survivor offerings and time. Just so i can get a game without waiting 15 minutes. Some solutions I have are as follows

    1. After 8 mins or 10 mins killer is given priority over others and can get players from 10 ranks back from your current rank.
    2. Give a bp bonus to a side that is lacking. The bonus increases dependent on the scale of the queue times.
    3. Give us information on what queue are like for both roles.
    4. Reward players for achieving a high rank. This could be iridescent shards at the end of a season. The amount increases dependent on the rank you achieved.

I encourage Behavior to try these solutions out as even streamers are brazenly admitting to deranking just to get games and for the inevitable survivors are to weak let me state that as survivor my escape count is very high with many games making it to exit gates minus nurse games which are sometimes winnable (all dependent on nurses skill.)

Honestly, as a person in America, I don't usually have to deal with outrageously long queue times unless its an event. But depending on where you're from I can totally sympathize. I mean on top of having to wait for people to join, and hope nobody is at 300 ping (I just back out of lobby as killer at this point cause I can't kick people out for having garbage internet) I could see why. Maybe having a wider pool of ranks to pull from if you've been sitting with an open lobby for ages is a good idea. And obviously have a way to grant bonus BP or something to the lower ranked survivors as a sort of compensation, wouldn't be a terrible idea or some form of compensation. I will say though, before they address killer queue times and try to put something like this in, they should balance queues where survivors are trying to boost their friends. Where you end up with a rank 1 survivor and 3 rank 20s vs a rank 20 hag with 2 perks at level 1..... That kind of game I've seen too much of, and its not fair for the survivors because they aren't getting the experience they need to improve themselves, and its not fair for the killer because they aren't progressively learning by going against someone who's just outrageous flashlighting and power looping new killers.

I think if you're a survivor at rank 1 trying to boost your friends, you need to get slapped into a game with a rank 1 killer.

If you want to deal with that problem I have a great idea for that. Make two queues ranked and casual. SWF is unplayable in ranked and is only available in casual.
How do you make ranked enticing? Add end of season rewards a small sum of iridescent shards ought to do that.

How do you make casual appealing to killers? Its in the name its a casual game where players can do meme builds or experiment, ya their will be people running super powerful builds but its likely they will be the minority as many killers like myself want to try weird fun builds like class photo Freddy or silent Billy. It will also be rankles meaning killers and survivors can play without absurd queue times. Also add a queue indicator to let us know what role need to be filled survivor or killer. Most of these need to be tested in the ptb of course but this will give a lot of players who want to meme around some room to experiment without facing optimized survivors or killers.

  • The games nature is that its a stomp for one side or the other. Very few games are actually close. As the comeback mechanics for survivor and killer perk wise are unreasonably bad. The end game of DBD is the problem if last year got something right its forcing survivors to go and leave whilst simultaneously making survivour tools to properly combat the early game. In dbd its a noed late game in terms of comeback potential. The exception would be the pig with her traps but that does require certain add ons.

If it takes too long, chances are high that the lobby is bugged (unless you are high rank).
At green ranks my queue times are fine.

Dont forget that most survivors ended at rank 15 after the event

I am willing to bet that Rank Reset might help solve alot of these issues we are experiencing.

I will take a break as usual after rank reset
If you rank up after reset very fast, then queue times will be insane too

Play sub optimally always give hatch to the last survivor so to limit double pip scenarios. Its kinda messed up how ranking up is a punishment in dbd with no benefit.

  • Some player in the lobby had the name DUUUUUUUUUUUD so I knew the kind of player he was. Immediately popped on a ebony mori as spirit and ruthlessly killed his entire SWF team slugging a few and baiting them in for an EZ 4 man mori game. First thing in chat I saw was "fk you". Just so you all know he was running ds and had a flashlight and adrenaline, so I'm glad i was able to give em a taste of his own medicine

  • The number one thing I hate on here is people saying "I'm not picking favorites, I'm good at playing as this thing. Here, let me tell you how good I am at this thing." This isn't a place to compare penis sizes, okay?

Ah i said i dont mind optimised teams. My goal isnt to bully newer players its to get games. I even asked what ranks has good players and a decent queue time. I pose this question out of frustration for 15 min queue times for a 5 to 10 minute game.

People have egos in dbd I have come to expect that. Too many nasty personalities have created this enviroment. I have put off deranking out of common courtesy but with all of the survivour and killer personalities dodging high rank play simply so they can play the game and not face stupid queue times or in survivours case play against weaker killers as there queue times are fine at high ranks for survivour.
  • I think you can change your location in Steam settings, not sure how but it shouldn't be too complicated. I actually wanted to change to Western Europe because I hate Russians, and I should still have a decent ping with UK or Spanish players.

As for matching you up with lower ranks, lacking high rank survivors: I think the matchmaking algorithm already does that, at least I have been pitted against survivors the highest rank of whom was 5-6 below mine.
Thats likely swf with a low ranked player/s this happens to me usually when multiple people spawn into my lobby at the same time. I play swf with othe friends who are low ranked but are friends i know personally and have had killers from rank 1 go against us. Likely because two of us were rank 1s and one was a low ranked player.
  • Master said:

You wont get banned for deranking, I dont know where you pulled this from.
Deranking by afking isnt bannable at all and you can even DC to derank within a certain degree because their punishment system only triggers if you exceed a certain rate.

Yes its kidna [BAD WORD] up that this is the solution, but DBD is kinda [BAD WORD] up in general if we are honest.
Imaging deranking in any other game, players would literally laugh at you and shake their head

Personally I kinda gave up on DBD, the rank system will probably never change and I derank too now. Whats the point of trying to play competitively as long as they dont fix their insane balance gap between solo and SWF and adress genrushing? Exactly, none

Now ofc deranking takes quite some time, so I suggest doing it in the background. Watching a movie? Run a few games of DBD. Every 30 min pause, stretch and start a new game (thats healthy anyway  )
Playing another game (non-performance hungry), start a few games of dbd etc

And a last thing, freddy might be terrible when you try to play normally, but he actually is a beast when it comes to deranking. Survivors cant bully you in the dreamworld, so they will get bored and leave instead of flashing you for hours and tbagging in front of your face to farm points.

Thanks for letting me know the freddy tip is helpful. What ranks are good for matchmaking i dont want to go too low as i like the competition of experianced players. Even if it means getting gen rushed or hit by super optimised swfs.

Aside from that i was hoping to draw attention to this problem and put forward some solutions who knows maybe one or two of our ideas might get implemented. Balance might be a problem but i just want to play the game without waiting 15 mins for a lobby.
  • @Zarathos out of curiosity, what region/country are you from? Now that the event is over, I have to wait about five minutes as killer (Eastern Europe, rank 1-2), yet I keep seeing these posts about how some people have to wait for ages.
Western Europe i wonder if a region swap would be possible. XD i just wanted to put forward a few ideas that could limit the problem asymetric games always have this problen and i wish the devs would at least consider improving the queue times.

Please don't just crawl around under the hooked survivor?
Is there a reason you might want to?

I can't unhook, and heal you at the same time. It really ties up 1 more person than it should. If I can get you on your feet, you can do gens, or rescue, or get healed.
Or I can unhook the person you're crawling under and you may not get hooked immediately? Then the unhooked person can help us like the afore mentioned scenario?

God prevent that survivors use their brains. That would literally kill the game and im honest here.... we know what happens against competent swf

i can already see some future back and forth angry arguments in this thread

Nah man were just having a laugh at this point. I mean I prefer to keep posts in a discusive tone as opposed to argumentative.
  • Oh you mean like the vault vaccuum that allows survivour to begin the vault 0.3 seconds earlier. Ya I'm aware of.the hook vauum same way im aware ds was supposed to fixed 2 months ago. Looking forward to the fix coinciding with the ds nerf.

Jokes aside the vaccum exists because the killer hook animation is locked to only working directly in front of the hook instead of putting in an animation for hooking a survivour slightly to the left or right of the hook.

Honestly swf needs to be relegated to casual games not ranked. A sepearate casual queue should be made for survivour swf. Swf makes the game hilariously easy and as such no player who hits rank 1 through swf has not learned or developed the core skills to play surviviour at a high level. Ever wonder why so many rank 1 players are awful its likely swf is the crutch that props them up.

Yes, but I am not sure whether any killer would still play casual then

To play fun meme builds and not face high rank super optimized survivors or to avoid stupidly long queue times due to rank. This is just off the top of my head.

Yesterday I got lobbies in a few seconds, today I have to wait 10 minutes +

    Same time, same rank.

I assume the devs have messed up lobbies again, something must be completely broken, otherwise I cant explain this

Could be just a lack of survivours playing or survivours switching to killer. My guess is everyone who has got their vials are playing killer as you can still get bonus bp for the event even if you finished your vials.
  • Answer no continue playing as normal and if a survivour wants out of a game like this then they can point at a hook. People play DBD primarily for stealth or the chase the result of dying or not does not matter to them. You still get the thrill of the chase being hooked twice and left on the ground. It also gets you as a killer to focus on your chase and tracking game. Which is more beneficial if you find that part of your gameplay to be weak.

Power to you buddy continue playing the game as you see fit as long as ypur not deliberatly trying to trap survivours in the game.
  • Killer attacks are kinda cumbersome the animation and swing are rough on top of that so guiding the blade around evaisive survivours is kinda ass.
  • Guys do you rember freddy. No histroy repeats itself, lets see if the devs have learned. Honestly tho her phasing is tricky but remeber shes got 105% ms 10% lower then your average killer. You shouod use that to your advantage shes also one of the easiest killers you can shake in a chase if you can control ypur scratch marks and take 1 stealth perk i.e. Urban evasion iron will etc.

By saying that I didn't care what streamers /devs say, I meant that no matter what they say about balancing I will disagree. I only have 1 person that I play with regularly and we work well together. But the majority of the time I play is with randoms. I save/heal, work on gens, and I'm pretty decent at evading killers. I've had far too many games where the killer did camp my body and yes the others could have continued on, but instead they all sat still. I can't make good players play with me every game.

I appreciate the advice but others in this thread are acting  like elitists and automatically assume that I lack skill. I admit there is much I need to learn to do better, but so many toxic people are so quick to try and offend someone. I am aware that killers need an edge over the survivors, but i feel like it should be tweaked a little. I have used every item and add on save for some  the ultra rare variety.  I have tried to adapt but it seems like struggling when nabbed doesn't affect the killer ar times, although I am aware of the perks that lessen the effects of things that survivors do.

My point is simply this: killers shouldn't be able to resist/stop everything everytime in every situation, although it seems several (nearly every time I play a match) killers I've gone up against that they have all the answers.

Another bullet I've learned to dodge or at least try to, is the latency between me and the host. It would be nice to have dedicated servers, although I know that costs resources that may not be available for the devs. I can't tell you how many times I cleared a vault and was several feet away and the killer still hit me whilst on the other side of the obstacle.  Or The Huntress's throwable hatchets zipped by me on my screen but the game registered a hit on me.

    Thanks for the help.
Buddy if you want a general guide to layouts and builds here is a general rule of thumb for building your survivour. One exhaustion perk and self care are the standard these perks allow you to mess up and fix bad positioning.
A healing perk espicially with the amount of killers running sloppy butcher. The last perk can be decided based on whether your aiming to get gens or be chased.

Know your killer understand their add ons and power so to figure out what your against and how to counter it. Killers often have the odds stacked against them so they will play ruthlessly efficient they will pressure you to mess up using all kinds of tricks. If you know their tricks coming in you can prepare yourself for them.

As a survivour you can win but not escape that often should become your focus. When playing survivour if you're  team is going down fast or is weak. Survivours escaping is based on the teams combined ability not just you as a player. You cant 1 v 1 good killers you will lose if the killer are at a good skill level.
  • For this event i was doing a no kill two hook everyone challenge. I was downing death hook survivours to keep pressure off gens while I hunted the remaining survivours who havent been two hooked. This was done to try and slow my climb initially however i find it more enjoyable to get the chases going constsntly which is harder when you start taking people out.

If survivours arent getting vials ill just go back to normal killing but it is a fun way to spend more time practising your chase.
  • Next time maybe make it so you have to get 5 or 10 of the objectives with both roles and make 40 vials objectives available for either side.

IF it would be just the distribution, this would affect survivor also.
And the problem would ease up when all the people that can't play killer, switch to survivor, which they already do, but it doesn't change anything.
And most important, bugged lobbies are a pretty common bug in this game and happening basically 2/3 of all patches.

While bugged lobbies are a thing, it wasn't this bad until everyone got their survivor side done and now that vials are obtainable on either side the issues fixed. Now lobbies pop almost instantaneously for both sides. I've even run into people on both sides who're jsut now starting to play the game and the event.

    Praise the entity!

So now there's this huge population imbalance of too many killers.

Can we please stop spreading that urban myth?
There are technical issues that need to get fixed.

IF this would just be the unbalance in player playing one side, it would fix itself, because all the killer mains switched to play survivor, because we do not get any lobbies!

You cant play a normal game anymore, the only players that are playing currently are those farming for the event.
And ofc, switching the sides in a 1:4 game leads to higher queue times (16 times longer), that should not be hard to understand.

Its funny though how every "main" played their prefered role first, maxed it out and now wants to play the other side.

Can you read?? Like serious. I am a killer main and I have not maxed out my killer vials, because I CAN'T FIND LOBBIES!

Should have done your vials while survivors were farming theirs. bad luck if you had no time in the beginning of the event^^

This is from the start of the event you ...

Ah yeah somehow I managed to complete mine really fast.... must have been a queue hack I guess

Early bird catches the worm. Unfortunately I chose to do my survivor vials first to help my struggling friends. Now i regularly have queue times of 20 mins for killer. : (

  • 4/10 mostly because devs have been sluggish to react to the killer queue times. Also the limit on survivors extra bp was obviously going to piss people off the serum cap is fine but making the extra bp inaccessible kills lobby time bad. Also don't get all of the community playing killer for a lengthy time 4 survivors one killer you cant get around that problem..By default killer and survivor should be able earn serums.either way or make it so killer only needs to earn 10 or 15 serums to cap.

  • lessons need to be learned from this event perhaps next time they can make the vials obtainable both sides or make it so that killer requires significantly less time or vials then survivor. For the sake of matchmaking.

  • Tsulan said:
So... any update on this? You still think it's to easy to get killer vials and to hard to get survivor vials?
Radio silence here buddy I guess hes waiting in a killer lobby right now XD. See if he shows up in the forum somewhere complaining about the queue times for killer that will be hilarious.
  • or just make it you can earn the killer vials through survivor.

  • I have a different solution to playing friendly. Hear me out. Play to hook each individual survivor twice as killer and slug anyone on death hook so you can get the last few on death hook. If you want to farm make it fun do chases and actually play the game. If you want to be friendly two hook everyone as killer its that simple. But survivours don't expect any killer to be doing this just play the game for god sake.

  • I'm inclined to agree with op here. Just make the ritual survivor not named as it only encourages you to play a a sub par survivors with weaker version of the perks of your main. I'd like to see each character get there own passive bonuses. Not crazy powerful a small percentage bonus to healing, sabo, cleansing and stuns maybe. Just to help separate the focus of each survivor.

  • The survivors who get the most points are not the evaders or the gen jockeys its the altruistic people as the point gains are massive, this is even discounting WGLF. It also easier to rank up via altruism. One hook save plus heal is almost iridescent on benevolence.

  • I m suggesting this in every thread i find so apologies for repeating myself. Make it possible to get vials after you got 30 serums. So all survivors can benefit from the point gain and it encourages survivors to continue with canker offerings. You don't need to give serums past 30 just make it possible to collect the nectar so survivors can benefit from the point gain. Honestly I don't know why survivors milk cankers without the offering you only get the points if you put the offering up. At the very least op your getting point for the cankers your putting in the game.

  • I mean if your rank is around rank 20- 8 ya killer getting desperate for hooks might allow you to break free but personally i know the wiggle meter well and i ll just pop you on a normal hook. Honestly the only time i suffer as killer in terms of killing is when a survivors lets me take them across the map to get my hooks lots of lost time instead of just putting them on a hook close by.

  • I assume this is killer as my survivour lobbies are normal. I have suggested this again and again but make it so you can harvest vial post 30 you will not be granted serums which is ok by me but you will get the large bp of harvesting plants.

Worst part is the dread you might get hit by a really good team who will stomp your ass I'm starting to see why their was so many nurses when i played survivor. XD

This is why they made us play killer for 1/2 of the vials. They wanted survivors to get a new perspective.

Could a done that by making killers require earning 20 vials and survivors 40 vials. Hear me out a killer needs a lobby of 4 people a survivor only needs one killer. We should make earning vials based of player count not game play preference of survivor or killer. The required players can not be satisfied by preference alone.

the most important detail 100% BLOOD POINT GAINS IN ALL CATEGORIES!!!

So its mainly a BP grinding perk?

Yes. DBD is a massive grind on blood points. If you want to get more value out of bbq then do not go out to the other side of the map go to the closest survivor that show up in range or check gens close by as its likely the players are close by. The greatest advice i can offer playing DBD is after hooking someone intercept the rescuer when you can as it will force additional people off gens.which is incredibly time inefficient for survivors.

  • Let's get to the day before the event ends to determine if extension is necessary..

Longer you leave a problem the worse it gets. My advice make it so survivours can harvest flowers however it will not be turned into serum this will make point gain as survivour favourable and encourage survivours to continue post getting all their serum.
