Survivor mains call anyone asking for true balance "biased", because they want to keep their edge.

Please stop using that social combatterm.
Thx. -
Bugs aside I only see a whole lot of survivor main complains.
He talks about toxic player (6) and refers to tunneling and camping in the same sentence, so he just want the killer to play stupid.
But at the same time he complains about not rewarded enough for looping (5) and that palletstuns are now more difficult… but hey, that all skill and not toxic at all, right? :sarcastic:Also he wants further nerfs to killers attacks, based on the visual of the weapon (4). Maybe we should just increase the attackrange of all killer that use longer weapons?

Anyone else noticed that killers have to wait 10+ minutes for a game? I sure have, and i don't know if any of you have noticed, but it isn't down to a glitchy matchmaking system, as that would slow survivor ques too. The reason is all the recent survivor nerfs / killer buffs. Constant complaining from a lot of killer mains has led to these changes, and sure, they may seem fair for killers, but the game should be unfair for killers. There's 4 players on one team, and one player on the other, so you need only 20% of players to actually want to play killer to get an even waiting time and fast ques. Instead killers just complained and complained, rather than trying to get better at the game, and now we have a bunch of idiots playing killer, no one playing survivor, and a broken game where no one can play how they like. I always said to stop moaning survivors were op, but all i got called was salty survivor main. Now look where you've got us...The queues for killer had been broken since the blight event.
Everyone claimed it is cause of the event and everyone playing killer.
But after the event was over, lobbytimes for killer still sucked.
It was obviously a bugged MM, which happens basically every other patch, but the Devs didn't do anything about it, because they already had their new MM system up the pipe.
Bad luck it didn't worked as intended and they rolled the change back and guess what?
We have weird long wait times for killer again.^^
But that is for sure just a lack of player doing survivor, right? :sarcastic: -

We are brainstorming around how to implement more objectives for the survivors, but maybe we need to focus more on the killer. What would happen if the progress/achievement is no longer tied to a 4k. If the killer wins the game by chasing all 4 survivors for a certain time, or regress the gens to a certain threshold? What if the killer has multiple ways to win the game?
Sorry, but that is already what we have right now.
It's called "the emblem, system".
Killer "win" and gain ranks by gaining "pips", but to be honest, that's not "fun" during actually playing the game.
You just get rewarded anyway, even if you did not have fun all game, you get a participation trophy.Well, my issue with the emblem system is that during the game you don't feel a satisfying impact.
There have to be something in the game, during the game, what the killer can do to win other than just hook/kill. A way that do not removes survivors.I always advocated for some kind of permanent debuff to survivor for each hook.
Most likely an action speed penalty.
So that the killer feel less pressure to remove the survivor from the game, but has more reason to spread the hooks among the team, instead of camping and tunneling.Something like Thanatophobia? Like for each hit taken or time hooked you get a stack and that survivor plays with a reduced action speed. Healing lessens this effect, but never completely removes it. This would also fix the hostage taking in games. at some point the survivors simply just can't do the actions fast enough to compete with the intrusions of the killer.
It is a possibility, but I see the "nerf" to survivors a problem. Just look at the doctor. He makes the game harder for the survivors with each Madnesstier you put them in. But it is just frustrating and unfun to play against. Not challenging, hard or fun.Either that, or tunnel/camp. Pick your poison.

You call that garbage "a little QoL" feature?
A killer getting punished despite the survivor made bad plays and unsafe unhooks?
And you even want that extended?
Are you kidding me? -
@zoomclub said:
They are very quick, the hitbox and range of each hit was extended, ruin, noed, devour, barbecue, nurse very powerful perks. Really we have think for both sides not only root for one of them
>
Please tell when the "range of hits and hitboxes" got "extended"?
And you named 3 HEX perks as powerful, while they are also very risky, because they could get destroyed.
BBQ and NC just recieved major indirect nerfs last patch. So you talking about "balance" is a bit wonky to begin with.
The major issue about balance in an asymetrical game is the snowball.
If the killer can get an early kill, the momentum is in his favor and he most likely gets 'em all. (Minus the one using the hatch)
On the other hand, if the killer doesn't manage an early kill and 4 survivor are running around the map and doing objectives for the most part of the game, the killer will not have the time to get enough hooks to get more than 1 kill.
(Maybe not even that, because killer don't have anything similar to the hatch)
So we will see only very rarely the "balanced results" of 2/2.
But for most 4 K matches there is an equal amount of 4 escape matches.
Both results feel very annoying for the side on the short end of the stick.
Next major point is, "someone HAS TO lose" in an asymetrical game.
Not all can win and have fun. Not even in a "balanced match" with 2/2 result, because 2 survivor needed to "lose".
If all survivor "win", the killer is the loser (no I do not consider piping as a win).
And some people just don't take losing pretty well and start blaming the game instead of themselves.
If the killer wants to start really affecting the team, he needs to remove someone FAST, while the survivor deem it unfair to get removed from the game "fast".
This missmatch and seeing the killer playing efficient as "toxic" is source of the most complains.
The other major source of complains is survivor that want to be able to beat the killer 1v1.
That should not be possible at all in an asymetrical game.
That's actually also a problem for killer, because every time a killer gets beaten 1v1, like getting looped for ages and constantly stunned, the killer feels underpowered, because it is against the premise of the game to get bullied by the side that hast he number advantage anyway.
No matter if the killer is basically impervious, because for the killer it is about TIME.
Killer have the clock against them, while survivor have unlimited time, so wasting time is a huge issue. -
If the killer are "not all viable at high rank", why do we have shared ranks across all killer??
-

Once again NOED =/= DSThe first kill is the most important kill in the entire game to take control of the game and snowball from there. DS deny this. NOED is just a fun post game perk, that can easily be countered even with bonus BP on top of it. NOED kicks in, when the game is over. If it goes off in the first place.
If you want DS = NOED the killer should be able to perform a cleanse on the obsession to get rid off the DS. Like smashing their head against the floor to smack the DS out.
You are completely right about this.
The problem is, that the Devs think the same as the survivor:
No one should get eliminated to fast.
In their eyes, every survivor has a "right" to play a certain time of the match.
The issue with that is that the Devs might have the "fun" of the survivor in mind, but turn a blind eye on the killers effectiveness in play and the need to remove someone to create a snowball effect. -

I only use Overcharge on my Doc build, because regular Overcharge checks are still to easy.
Only if you pair it up with Unnerving presence and madness it gets really good.
So to me it is just a niche perk for certain killer, which is sad, because so the game lacks build diversity. -

- Legitimately skilled killer that kicks the teams ass.
yes, there are the occasional rounds where I'm not matched up with potatoes or run into a killer who genuinely doesn't get sweaty for kills... but you mix all of this with the lack of bloodpoints and the current bugs in the game, one of which refuses to accumulate my co-op actions for the daily ritual and its just one frustration after the other.
and yea, I could go on to list the myriad of bugs that plague this game, but a quick browse through this forum and you'll see it laid out for you.
the devs have done a great job in many ways, I won't pretend that the game isn't good, but the cons weigh out the pros far too horribly.
seriously bhvr, you need to fix this game, as it is it just feels like a shameless money grab from your customers.
I am really looking forward to see you become a killer main.
Lets wait some days maybe weeks and see how your postings will change.^^ -
I would be glad if they at least do something about his perk diversity.
If someone is "exposed" there should be an effect when he gets hit.
I mean, Legion got his own exposed perk (Iron Maiden) and he can hardly benefit from it.
At least just make it count as 2 hits towards the DW bar.
Same is for already injured survivor, if you apply DW to an already injured survivor the bar should not start at 100%.
That way people would actually need to heal up.
Those 2 things would be easy to do and basically just logical QoL changes, but could help a lot. -
Same here. Progress stopped at 12 seconds and is not increasing at all anymore.

-bloodlust is a "general mechanic for killers who aren't currently using their power". That there wouldnt be bl gain while stalking is okay, but i think he obviously should have it- a)more evil / regenerating evil on survivors.
b)negative effects on fully stalked survivors.
-multi stalk, with or without dimishing effect.
There have been lots of threads with reasonable or unreasonable tweak ideas.
Actually THIS are the best ideas to "tweak" Myers.

In the last dev stream they made a strawman argument that players want all killers to be top tier. To be fair that is a thing. However that isn't the issue here.Devs did their best to make a fun killer. They did a pretty good job so far, meme not intended, but they came up short on the follow through. The last bit of fun is the satisfaction element of using the power.
To give an example of killer satisfaction, think of the feeling when you hear the snap of a trap. When you blink in as a nurse and hit, when you mind game someone with a hag trap. That is killer satisfaction. That is fun.
They made a statement that they wanted to make this a time waster ability like the RBT, but the RBT suffers from the same lack of problem as deep wound. There isn't satisfaction. We want the head to pop when the timer runs out. That's a killer's fun.
If we can get that satisfaction at the end of the chase, I think it would calm the review storm. there are so many calls for buffs in so many directions but all we really ultimately want is to down the victim with our cool, fun new power.
If we could have the bleed out timer keep running during a chase after a second hit, problem solved. 3 victims on the mend, and the unlucky last one is chased down like a shot dear.
Devs could let legions power work with exposed perks as an alternative, but ultimately bring able to down your opponent is the last key to legions fun
Totally agree.
The Devs don't seem to see what "fun" actually is for killer player. It's the same with Freddy, you use your power on someone and want to say in a deep voice "Now you are in my world" and dominate him there… but in truth, you get looped for ages, because the power did nothing but delay you.
Pig the same, put an RBT on hook 'em/leave 'em and a short time later you see the HUD, rescued, healed, RBT gone. No one is saying, "oh that was fun, I delayed the game". -

I agree that games often end too fast but I don't think increasing gen time is the solution we are looking for. Repairing gens is the least entertaining part of the game and therefore not anything that people should be forced to spend more time on.What I would prefer: Rework most of the killers and their add-ons, each individually.
Guess why totems got introduced?
They had been intended to give survivor another thing to do.
Killer got perks linked to totems to give survivor a reason to spend time destroying those.
But what do that do instead?
Power through Ruin with great skill checks and go to the forum to complain about Noed.
-
Why not just use M&A and a Dead Rabbit?
-
Totally agree on that.
-
All spread out. 3 work while 1 is chased. 3 gens can get done in 80 secs max.
So there are 2 gens left and even if the killer manages to keep 2 survivor busy, the other gens can get done in another 80 seconds.
That's just 160 seconds for ALL gens to get done.
so we are well under 3 minute games and maybe 2 or 3 hooks for the killer while the survivor only have the gates left to do.
So good survivor can finish the match in 4 minutes.
That's insane. -
This statement is sooooo crappy garbage.
They never released a killer better than Nurse or Billy and player never asked for anything like that.
They just ask for killer to be at least "mid tier".
We all know that Billy and Nurse will stay at their spots, despite the Devs trying to bring them down (BBQ nerf anyone?).
Even when they advertised Doc as the killer that will be gamebreaking, he i snow just mid tier. -

Maybe it's just the map, but DW seems a lot better. The colors are more washed out so maybe that's where you are having trouble. That definitely threw me off a little bit. But in terms of raw visibility it seems better. I'll try a few more after I finish some other dailies to see what other maps look like. Thanks for your opinion.
I was actually not referring to seeing people in the distance, it is just really hard to tell if they are already asleep.

The actual "power" is him running and vaulting and hearing heartbeats. There are already a crapload of perks that do not work with his ability and you want to take away one more?
Why? He is already bad enough. -

Again… are you serious?
Noed is pretty much balanced.
It has a build in counter and you see the speed buff as an issue?I am serious. A second chance for NOTHING is blatantly overpowered. At least make it so that the killer has to hook everyone once. It's equivalent to DS becuase it has very little counterplay (breaking all the totems for NOED and for DS, you have to juggle) both of them will NOT always work out in favour of the opposite side. So if you think DS needs a nerf and NOED doesn't then you're rank 20 for sure OR NOED is your life saver as killer. "Noed is pretty much balanced" What a joke.
Sorry, but the only one joking here is obviously you.
Since DS works from the very beginning it's chang of momentum in the gam is worth much much more than Noed in the late game.
And the killer did something for it. He picked a perk. A perk that is a dead slot until certain situation happens and the survivor had been to lazy to do totems. The killer prepared himself for the endgame.

Very analytic and well thought out. You're right. But still. They yet decide to nerf survivors somehow :P and buffing killers at the same time. Like the most recent change to a survivor perk was Borrowed time where all tiers got -5 seconds. Small changes that do much in a longer perspective

Are you turning things upside down on purpose?
We are back to survivor buff time.
BT was not nerfed, it got BUFFED, because who cares about that -5 seconds when the timer isn't running out in chases??Lmao and earlier they nerfed it even more. Instead of both survivors getting borrowed just one does.
Do you remember the time when it affected both?
With all those crap standoff, because the killer could not swing at the survivor beside the hook, because they would use the attack cooldown to unhook and both escape with BT activ?
Yea, great times, right? :sarcastic:

Any survivor bringing up Noed in a DS debate is just trying to disguise the issues with DS.
To make this simple, no. Whether NOED is balanced is completely up to individual opinion. Same with DS. You think DS is "op crap" well guess what, a lot of people think that about NOED. Movement speed buff + oneshot = balanced, according to you, "op crap" according to others.

- Because you are a team.
- Because it is a supernatural game. The killer is not human, he gets lead by the entity.
- Is it ok for you that the killer gets punished when the survivor do unsafe unhooks? Unhook Invu frames, free exhaustion relief, improved BT?
- Since when is 4 seconds to spot and evaluate multiple auras with several counterplayoptions considered "braindead"?

We need to wait for a hotfix update honestly... Though it may take a while, so much things broke that it will take some time to fix it (but I think at least some stuff is gonna to be fixed before event/with the event update)It's still crap to release such buggy patches.
It's not like this isn't something new.

Is it a bug or a feature?
The scratchmarks are now really hard to see. At least to me.
Anybody else that issue?
Looks like another issue with the new graphics.I mean, aren't them always bugged?
Not that I noticed anything before.
It is only that bad right after this new chapter. -

Where are these statistics coming from that only 30% of the player base runs solo? This is missinformation floating around since the Devs showed some stats on stream.
They said "70% of all lobbies contain some form of SWF".
Some people who want to use it for their narrative make that the false claim of "only 30% are playing solo", which is wrong.
Because in the very same stream the Devs showed that less than 50% (47,2% if I remember correctly)of all survivor player join the game via "survive with friends"; including those that join the game via "Survive with friends" alone.
Correct is only 30% of all games are 4 survivor playing solo.
But 52,8% of ALL survivor player are playing solo (even more; see above). -

Don't you agree that killers just have it too easy at the moment?
What are you talking about?
Are you playing rank 20 only? -

I even run predator perk, still too hard to see them.Does anyone remember the last engine update?
The audios got so terrible that you basically needed to run Stridor to actually hear the survivors.
Now all get forced to pick Predator or completely ignore scratchmarks.

I had a Freddy daily yesterday, and the new graphics made it so much easier. I’m playing on a PS4 Pro, and it is much easier to find survivors now. Are you playing on a standard PS4?Good for you. PC is terrible atm.

True I mean "No One Escapes Death", "Rancor", "Haunted Grounds" & BBQ is quite strong perks. Nice 2-pers perspective
Are you sarcastic?
Please tell me you are...The truth is. I don't wanna see Rancor / Hanuted Grounds at all. It's ######### that people should die on 1 hit. Noed is enough. "FrEe MoRi"
Rancor and Haunted Ground are pretty weak perks to begin with.
My guess, you are one of those survivor who want notifications in advance for everything.
God forbid some survivor would get scared or get a nasty surprise.
Survivor NEED to know when they are in danger, right?
:sarcastic: -
That's a really bad point, because you can't keep certain killer at a disadvantage just by saying "he gets reworked anyway".
We know that those reworks take ages before they happen. -
It's not a killer related or map related issue. I switched the killer and played different maps now and every time the scratchmarks are fewer than usual, less bright and sometimes even missleading.

Only the highlight overlay derped or the dreamworld itself too?The highlight is not good to see and the whole dreamworld is … gritty(?)
In german I would say "krisselig"... like in an old movie (or the thing you can change in the Left 4 Dead settings^^). -

The game is not designed around this. Finding survivors is easy since their objective is stationary. It is not because you are so good at the game that you find survivors, it is because their objective doesn't allow them. This is also the reason why they can actually take the game hostage at the end. In that large map, it is difficult to find survivors since you don't know where you should look at. To make this game about 'stealth' you have to change the entire game, from perks to main objectives, pallets and windows to map designs.
The devs themselves stated that the game will be around chases, not stealth.
If you really think that the game is about stealth, then this game is not for you at least for now.
Sorry, but I still think you are wrong. Skilled survivor can evade the killer for a pretty long time and get things done without getting chased.
At some point getting chased is almost impossible to avoid, but if you can avoid getting chased -and potentially downed and hooked- for a longer period it gives you an edge at the late game, because you denied the killer his objective (getting hooks).
(If you can't maybe that is a you-issue.)
The survivor should try to avoid the "big bad", but since the killer is not a real threat to good looper, they do not play stealthy.
Stealth also generates less points and since the real reward is not surviving, it isn't well liked.
If survivor would rank up on surviving alone, you would see a big increase in stealth play.If you wanna tell me that the Devs said the game is around chases instead of stealth, you have to give a source to it.

both sides are sharp but he is holding it the wrong wayUsually only the inward curved side is sharp in a karambit, because it is a sickleblade.
There are versions with both sides sharpened, but honestly the ingame version doesn't look like it.Just because it's a sickle looking blade it doesn't mean most of them are one-edged, it's preference, they are all equally common, most of the one edged are the folding ones and both edges are sharp in the game
I don't want to get into that to deep, but... your wrong.
Just check some sources how the karambit became a fighting knife and what it was before.
It is not your regular Rambo knife.
Even most martial artists use it only singleedged to have the option to hook and control with the blunt side. But anyway, the karambit in this game does not look sharp on that side.
