The core value is not hide and seek, it is chasing.

If the core value is stealth, we should might as well remove pallets and windows.

That shows what's actually going wrong in this game right now.
People think it is about chasing.
Killer should be the one looking forward to chases and are those that should win chases aynway.
Survivor should be afraid of getting caught, because getting chased should be bad for them, but in fact they enjoy it as "the game".

The aura blocking was needed in order to restore the core value of the game. Which is hide and seek. I feel the complaining is mainly coming from the B&C users. Just a friendly reminder that there was a time that myself and so many other killers didnt have B&C and all other aura reading perks we are spoiled with these days. There was plently of 4k games then and there will be plently more today. Please stop complaining about features that are restoring balance and fun to the game.

Thanks again Behaviour for a great Chapter. Loving it so far! :)

I am complaining a lot about this, because it is stupid and guess what? I hardly ever use BBQ.
The Aura read was to short for most killer anyway and there existed enough ways to counterplay it without even using a perk to do it, but survivor still cried havoc about FOUR seconds aura read.
Just a little reminder, the survivor version shows the killers aura for up to two MINUTES to all survivor, but hey, Kindred is a garbage perk no one uses, right?

Usually only the inward curved side is sharp in a karambit, because it is a sickleblade.
There are versions with both sides sharpened, but honestly the ingame version doesn't look like it.

Because as it stands, and as I've mentioned in previous posts, people that are good at the game and people that are God like at the game are both in the same spot, rank one, and that's a problem.

    That's the point.
"God player" won't be affected anyway, because they will pip anyway and never needed the safety pip to begin with.
But it would spread out the player a little better and more according to their real performance.

  • Aaaaaahhh… the good old "biggest thread on steam ever".
    Still epic… still true...

Yes, using order, but got no yellow aura.

So this issue is already fixed?

New chapter has reinforced this from what I can tell. Every match I've had, even solo teammates, are splitting up and spreading out. The only exception I saw was 2 rank 20s popped in and tried to double leader.

One of the terrible things is that the killer side has the offering to spread them out and the survivor have the offering to start together.
That shows the Devs are not aware how the game is actually played.

  • @TheCatLady said:

At what point did I say they were "the same"? I said they were both second chance perks that can be denied, which is true,

    To make this simple. No.
Stop comparing these perks, because they are completely different.
Noed is balanced and DS is op crap.
Any survivor bringing up Noed in a DS debate is just trying to disguise the issues with DS.

I’m glad BBQ got some kind of nerf. You see it in almost every build. It’s like pre-nerf brutal strength.

Except this takes away from the solo survivor experience. If I am playing survivor and am the first out, I have to wait around for 5-15 minutes just to see what the killer was running if I'm curious?

And the threat of solo survivors adding each other just to tell someone what perks and add-ons are being run is extremely low.

So you rank your "curiousity higher in value than the killers disadvantage of having his loadout told to the rest of the survivor?
    Serious?

  • @kazzymoyashi said:
    And here we go.

    1. Killer have hardly been buffed and they got buffed, because SWF is to strong. SWF is not the solution, but the problem.

    2. Immersed should be the way to go. Instead survivor enjoy playing ring-around-the-rosie and bully the killer by playing pig-in-the-middle

    3. The time survivor objectives take to do is way to short and killer objectives take way to long. That's what is called "gen rush". By the time the killer got his first hook, survivor can do 3 gens. Survivor need to do 5 gens and 1 gate = 6 objectives and half of them are done. The killer needs at least 6 hooks to kill 2 survivor for a "balanced" match. To "win" (3+kills) it would be at least 9 hooks, 11 if you spread the hooks among the team. And that's just the hooks, because every hook needs a successful chase, with DS, Insta heals, palletsaves and flashlightsaves that' could skyrocket. But let's just stick to the hooks, depending on what you call a killers "win", it's 6-11 hooks. Let's meet somewhere in the middle, like 8(+1/") hooks. So the killer did 1/8 of his objectives, while the survivor did 3/6 of their objectives. Do you see the problem now? So don't come here and complain about how hard survivor is after all those "buffs" to killer (and don't turn a blind eye on survivor buffs please, ok?)

      1. Okay, so adjust SWF - create a nerf specifically for SWF, not solo queuing. It's unfair to nerf ALL survivors. If I play survivor, I usually solo queue or play with one friend. I honestly can't remember the last time I played with a full team of 4. Also, how long have you been playing this game? I've been playing it since the release on console and you see 5+ buffs for killers to maybe 1 buff for survivors with each patch. The game isn't meant to be 'fair'. It's called an asymmetrical horror game for a reason, and even then, it has lost its horror element.
    4. But why? Why should it HAVE to be that way? Why can't we play however we like? If you choose to camp, which clearly you endorse, then I will choose to run around and make you feel like an idiot for choosing to chase me. It's all about choosing who to chase. If you are chasing someone and they are good at looping and such, then STOP CHASING THEM. Is your pride really worth it? I can get a 4 kill at rank 8. No, it's not red ranks, I admit, but it really depends on your play style and your perk load out. It's not rocket science.
    5. Then GIVE UP THE CHASE. Play a different killer if you struggle with one of them. Here's the thing that you clearly need to learn... YOU DON'T NEED A FOUR KILL EVERY SINGLE MATCH. It was the hardest thing I had to learn as both survivor and killer - you won't escape/survive every match and you won't get a four kill every match. Once you accept that, the game gets more fun. Stop being so competitive. What do you honestly gain? It's just a game. If you want to be competitive, go to call of duty or something else.
    1. Yes, I would be ok with just nerfing SWF.
1.1 I am playing for 2500+hrs and if you want to tell me that killer have gotten more buffs than survivor, you must be playing a different game or you are turning a blind eye on one side. Basically every patch was 2 buffs for survivor and 1 buff for survivor for almost 2 years.
    2. It should be that way, because the killer are supposed to be the powerrole. The killer should be the scary big bad, that you try to avoid to fight directly, instead survivor WANT to directly interact with the killer and some streamer even go as far as calling crap like "the chase IS the whole game".
2.1 No need trying to educate me, I know when to drop a chase. Don't talk to me like I am a noob if you know jack crap about me.
    3. Again, stop trying to lecture me, you obviously not in the position for that. Have ever read me posting that crap anywhere about "4K every match"? No, because I never that that, so please stop trying to put words into my mouth just because you have nothing else to bring to the table.
3.1 The game IS competitive in nature. 2 sides versus each other. One team vs one single player. PVP! You do not play Pvp "non competitive". That's impossible, because you play versus other human beings. If you don't want o compete, go play some coop games like Left 4 Dead, but stop telling people that this is non competitive.

But how should it create any pressure, when the risk of getting down gets LESS??

    That's basically playing pig-in-the-middle.
Killer are on a timelimit, but survivor have unlimited time, so this is doomed to fail.

I really don't understand the fact that the timer doesn't go down while during a chase, that means you either go for 4 hits, or you give up the chase (Which then he will mend like its nothing), then if you try to chase normally you will get looped to death. and if you go for other survivors they'll mend right on the spot ignoring you completely

    +1 this.

If you just hit a survivor while in frenzy, you have him injured, like any other hit, but with a "bleedouttimer",.
But how is that supposed to trigger them actually going down?
Drop the chase and leave them alone = they "mend".
Keep chasing = the timer does not go down and you are an 110% speed M1 killer.
Use frenzy again = you need 4 hits

What's the point? You could interrupt them during mending (IF you can find them, because "mending" is not "healing", right?), but that again would stop the timer. So you need to kinda juggle them, by interrupting, dropping the chase, interrupting… and hope at some point they drop down.

  • The stun and losing the prey that you just hit with Frenzy would be ok, IF the DW would actually do anything.
Right now it is way to rare that someone will drop just because of getting affected by DW.

Legion is very fun for survivors. Literally no skill required. Even the most basic of pallet loops can hold him at bay for a long time.

Well depends on the legion. If a legion want's you dead you are going down. He will eventually get you just like all killers, the difference is that you have no say in it. It's all in Legion's hands. Even if the map you are playing has amazing loops he will just vault over windows and pallets and hit you until your deep wound bar depletes.

But he will need FOUR hits.
That will take a huge amount of time.

you are the one who deserve to hear "stupid" enough i guess

he told killer camped 3gens from the start, in some maps can 3gens spawn just in 15meter for longest

than you can camp with any character

person can't be fully objective, but you re not even trying

If there is a cluster that the killer tries to defend, you HAVE TO break up the cluster!

He gives them a good chase without any real danger.

    Survivors love him/her/it

I personally love legion as a player of both sides. They're not EASY to loop. You can loop them. They dont HAVE to switch targets as drastically as youd have it seem. A decent legion can chase with very real danger.

Have you even played as/against them?

It's not like his power is to hit multiple targets...
What's next? A nurse that doesn't teleport? Hag not using traps?

    Give me a break.

Give killer a base kit ability that you deem soooo powerful that you have to balance it by reducing is base speed.
Later claim that he should not use his power and chase regular.

(At least with a plain outfit.)
    Dumb me. XD

  • 105 movement speed???
You want to make him better by making him slower??

  • First "better movibility than hillbilly"?? How do you think that?!?

    He has several issues:
    -No map pressure
    -No tracking tools
    -No gen control
-Revving the saw slows him down to much. (You need to piggy back ride the survivor to get a hit)
-You can't just charge through the revving bar, you have to make sure it is fully filled and waste potentially a second or risk wasting the power
-His add ons are mostly (or actually ALL) garbage
-He has problems sawing around loops without hitting objects
-Hitting objects with his saw throws him into a loooong tantrum
-Perks: KO is garbage (SWF anybody?), FD isn't working with his saw

The things he is actually good at are those that are not appreciated.
-He can multi hit survivor, IF they are stupid enough to bunch up.
-He is a good/hard to beat camper (yay, that's so fun)
-He is good inside the basement (better waste some perks to actually get them there to benefit from it).

Most people just bought him to get BBQ, which just got indirectly nerfed a 2nd time.

    1. Nurse
    2. Billy
    3. HUNTRESS (maybe Clown and Hag)
    4. Myers
    … every other killer…
(And somewhere in the dark basement Legion is now comforting Freddy "hush, dude, your not alone anymore".)
Basically EVERY player ever made a tierlist ranked Huntress above Myers.
She is the 3rd strongest killer (not when I play her of course, but that's a different story)..

Both DS and NOED are second chance perks that can be denied and I don't understand crying about one while defending the other. One grants a one-time free escape IF you can hit the skill check, while the other puts exposed on everyone IF dull totems aren't cleansed. Just accept them as features of the game and work around them, it's really not that hard.

DS and Noed are NOT "the same".
-Noed has a build in counter.
-The skillcheck is not a good argument for a better effect, because that is only a badly designe force multiplier; bad player who would need such 2nd chance perks, can't hit the check and those good player who are already powerful and hit the check every time are recieving to big of an advantage.
-DS changes the momentum of the game, early in the match, where the effect is much greater. If it denies early pressure on the team it is worth way more than something that only starts working at the endgame of the match.
-DS is not a "one time use" perk, because it is "one time" PER survivor taking it.

  • @Avariku said:

Swapping the roles almost perfectly, from 2-3 kills flipping to 2-3 escapes... somehow makes it broken/garbage... yet as of right now it's my understanding that killers currently get 2-3k on average... but THAT isn't broken/garbage?

No, actually it is NOT. Because the killer is MEANT to be "dangerous". 2 escape/2 kills is basically considered a "draw". Because of the asymetrical nature of the match, not "everyone can win". Even if the survivorside "wins", 1 or 2 will/should lose. If the survivor "win" with 4 escapes, the killer player lost.

And the stats you refer to are screwed to begin with, because DCs are included also included are matches where less than 4 spawned and matches where ragequitter caused a snowball killing on the remaining ones and also included matches where people died because of overaltruistic "no one left behind" mindsets.
As long as surviving isn't needed to rank up for survivor, those stats you refer to are worthless.

  • @Avariku said:
We are all too familiar with the tired argument between survivor/killer mains about which one has it harder, while the only true statistics we've gotten on the matter was a rather vague and roughly below 50% survival rate.

I play killer way more than survivor and I'm convinced that killer has a much easier time than survivor, BUT I am willing to understand that everyones experience won't be the same. Also, up until recently I have strictly played killer rather casual and kept myself around rank 9-11, which might add to my opinion.
(I'm currently taking steps to change that and have a more accurate view of higher ranks)

Aside from all of this potentially argument-starting crap...

What if we shifted the balance a little further to the survivor side, but with a twist...

If the devs made some tweaks to up that survival ratio to closer to 60-70% BUT we introduce a new set off ultra-rare offerings for killers. Something that would be blatantly OP for them. This would allow non-swf players to be able to not feel like they're wasting they're time playing and still give some of our more power-hungry killers the feeling of being the unstoppable 4-k machine they wish they could be for every round.

    Entity Chrysalis

Burning this offering will infuse the killer with the power of the entity itself.

    • Hex:Ruin takes effect without the use of a totem.

    • All survivors suffer from the exposed effect for the duration of the trial.

    • Pallet stun time and flashlight stun time are reduced by 90%.

    • Killer can Mori any survivor in the dying state.

This would need to be a very rare offering to keep from running into it every single round, but if we made tweaks so that surviving was more viable it would give both sides a little more "fun", while not being completely one-sided overall.

    Thoughts?

Are you out of your mind?
You want to further boosted the survivor side, despite them being to strong anyway??
And you want o make up for it that you might get an ultra rare to make up for that every now and than?
I would totally quit playing killer.
That such an unbalanced garbage idea… simply ruin the regular killerexperience and bring an RNG excuse for.
What do you think will the survivor do, when they notice that offering?
    Guess what? DC!!!
So we would be left with terrible matches for killer and DCs every time they could get a good match.

I know this might generate comments such as “git gud” and such haha, but playing as a survivor gets you so much less than a killer. Surviving and doing good nets you like 15k max, dying and doing good about 10k. Doing bad still less. Being a bad killer gets you at least 20k though and it keeps going up if you do good. I feel playing as a survivor is such a chore if you want to get serious bloodpoints, it makes more sense to just spam play the killer. I feel they should increase/add a reward for straight up finishing the game, or split it between completing the game and the struggle phase (to discourage intentional suicides)...thoughts?

If killer is so great and gives so many easy bloodpoints… feel free to play killer.

    What is holding you back?

    Just do it.

And don't forget to come back to the forum and share your experience with us.

What’s your problem lol? Like seriously cut the toxicity. I do play as a killer, matter of fact I play killer more than survivor. Congratulations I hope you’re happy that you have that info. Now that that’s out of the way, which was completely off topic...feel free to address the issue I presented, where survivors get arguably too low amount of bloodpoints, and I presented ideas to give a small boost that’s both fair and improves gameplay.

Killer need more BPs... Killer are the only player that will play the whole game from start to end, no matter what… Survivor can still gain MORE BPs than the killer IF they are good… so what's your point exactly?
Survivor can just jump into the next game and go on playing and gain more BPs per minute, but of course not if you have to wait for your SWF buddies.

Just do not run from the nearest gen to the next nearest gen and punch them through and afterwards complain about gen spawns.

    Use your brain.

You tell me how a survivor is supposed to do that if the killer starts camping them right at the start of the game lol.

I've seen your other posts, all you do is complain about survivors. You never talk objectively when It comes to balance. Some SWF must have really hurt you...

Still it is the survivors fault if they leave clusters last.

Of course you can complain to the Devs and ask for "fixes" instead of using your brain and strategy, that's up to you.

Survivor mains are known for that.

Once again I ask you, how would you "use your brain" as you call it, if the killer is just camping those 2 gens right from the start of the match.

2 gens are not a cluster, only if you keep THREE gens close together you failed.

SWF isn't even the crux of the issue, it's the speed in which gens are completed. SWF only magnifies the problem.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rKEyiBiVO_c&t=530s

Take for example this clip featuring truetalent going up against the clown. Ruin is immediately destroyed, the clown does the right thing by abandoning the DS user who is only going to waste his time, and two gens are popped before he gets the down.

The clown in this game makes big mistakes afterwards continuing to tunnel true but the first two minutes he plays his cards right and still loses two gens almost immediately.

Look me in the eyes and tell me the clown just needed to pressure the map and that it was his lack of skill or inability to chase that caused this. I swear, you people are in hardcore denial.

And that wasn't even really a fast game. Gens could have been done way faster. Anyway 3 gens had been done on the first hook. And "just mindgame the pallet" didn't benefit the killer at all.-

it's already a very powerful perk, it doesn't need more

It’s certainly not powerful enough to contend with D-strike or Sprint Burst. I know I would always choose one of the latter two when given the chance.

Maybe "not all perks are meant to be viable"?
Not every perk can be on the same op level of the most used meta perks.
Do we wanna start compare how many powerful perks each side has?
There is a reason that no killer perk has the same pickrate than Self Care.

  • Yes, as you can imagine I am looking at this issue from the perspective of a killer main, but if you play survivor and depip so often that it stops you from ranking up, just because the killer finds you first and camps you right out of the game, you should start rethinking your playstyle.

Nothing you say is really debunking the point.
Feel free and show your list.
Which perks are worse on Legion than on any other killer (any exposed perks) and which one you call better on him than on any other killer (Franklins, Thanatophobia, etc.).
And of course, the remaining ones are unaffected by him/his base kit.
Let's see what you can come up with.

It's not about debunking the point. It's about obvious bias belittling the point and giving survivor mains viable rationale for ignoring the problem.

Perks that are weaker on Legion compared to standard killers:
    Nurse's Calling
    Brutal Strength
    Coulrophobia
    Devour Hope
    Haunted Ground
    NOED
    Make Your Choice
    Rancor
    Save the Best for Last
    Unrelenting
    Bamboozle
    Sloppy Butcher
Spirit Fury (unless you're going for a no frenzy follow up hit with Enduring)

Perks that are stronger on Legion compared to standard killers:
    Bloodhound
Distressing (if you're mixing with Monitor & Abuse for survivor locating)
    Franklin's Demise
    Hex: The Third Seal
    Monitor & Abuse
    Remember Me
    Thanatophobia

So out of 54 perks 13 are weaker on him and 7 are stronger.
34 you claim to be "neutral", including perks that we could scratch of the list anyway like SFTS, Monstrous Shrine, Surveillance, Fire Up.
But you missed to mention Iron Maiden, Stridor, Predator, which are in my opinion weaker on him.
And also less benefical/desireable to use are BS, STBFL, Enduring, Unrelenting.
But even with your count it almost double the amount of perks getting less efficient on him than those that benefit him more.
That is still not a good step towards "perk diversity".
Only very few builds will be decent on him.

  • @Dehitay said:
The list of perks weak on Legion is long, but the amount of obvious bias is ridiculous here.
Stridor, Predator, Tinkerer, Insidious, Play with your Food, Thrill of the Hunt, Spies, Monsterous Shrine, Territorial Imperative, Survelliance, Shadowborn, Fire Up, Beast of Prey, and Overwhelming Presence are no more handicapped on him than anybody else. And worse yet, you listed Franklin's Demise and Thanatophobia which are actually stronger on him than other killers. Why not add Bloodhound and Hex: Third Seal to the list if you don't want to be taken seriously. When you have to so blatantly pad your statistics in order to make what could have been a valid point, you just make it seem like you have no clue what you're talking about.

Nothing you say is really debunking the point.

You didn’t do much variety, you didn’t do a lot of gens, you didn’t escape, you didn’t do much altruism, you got good evader points, that’s it

A one trick pony doesn't perform well.
I all can do is loop, you are not a good overall player.

  • @White_Owl said:
It would be nice, but devs said they like the concept of tapping gens to stop the regression during chases, so....

    When did they say that?!?!
That's one of the worst things in the game.
