I can trust on you defending more safety nets and trying to strip killer of option how they want to play without saying the obvious.
Otherwise, feel free to counter any of my points. Seems like you don't like "free will" of people. If so, you should better switch to a solo game and play against Bots.
Or maybe some cooperative vs bots, like Left 4 Dead.
But better stay away from Pvp. -

Which is quite ridiculous that you cannot in EW1, as that litterally forces you to go to higher EWs, which is the equivalent of forcing you to play in a certain way.
...
Yes it does force the player to play in a certain way to be able to get, namely that he/she has to stalk up to EW2. So it does force the player to in certain ways rather than letting the players play as they like, whether that is playing the killers as intended, completely different or just m1 through it all, that should be completely up to the player - not how it's designed nor the devs, but the player....
There is something quite wrong with what you're saying there, just because some way of playing isn't the optimal way, shouldn't mean you should be forced to play the intended or optimal way to play it, which the decision to exclude bloodlust from EW1 exactly does, it specifically forces the killer to play in a certain way - the intended way. Every killer should have the option to play how they damn well please, whether it be optimal, intended, do an m1 bruteforce playstyle or a completely different way of playing.

I get that the Hatch exists so players can escape the match when all hope is lost,...
And if so, why is there no ingame mechanic that helps the killer to get at least 1 kill in case "all hope is lost" for the killer?
Killer have just to accept a 4 survivor escape scenario, while survivor get a safety net.

So sides one free mechanic is legit, but to counter it with tactic ans strategy is cheap?
Slugging and trying to find the other survivor is fine, but when you camp the slugged survivor and expect the other survivor to come and heal them but you’re standing right beside the slugged survivor is cheap. It drags on the game and isn’t worth a 4K. Hook the survivor and find the other one, it isn’t that hard. If they get the hatch so what?
A hatch is not a “free escape” by the way. You have to actually get generators done for the hatch to even spawn. One time my whole time died to a Leatherface and I fixed two whole generator BY MYSELF. Then I got the hatch and escaped so kindly explain to me how the hatch is a “free escape”?
It is a "tactic".
Cheap? Maybe.
Easy to use? Yes.
Efficient? Depends on your goals as a killer.
If "just hook 'em and search the next" would be so easy as everyone here claim it to be,we wouldn't have this debate.
Why should the killer risk a free unhook, with him on the other side of the map and risk loosing both? And about the hatch (again), it is "free", because the person using it is not required to have achieved anything.
The one using the hatch could have hide in a locker al match and still could use the hatch.
And if your whole team died before they managed to get TWO gens done, the killer actually deserve the 4K anyway. -

So sides one free mechanic is legit, but to counter it with tactic ans strategy is cheap? There's a big difference between slugging to give yourself more time to find the other guy and slugging while waiting for the slugged Survivor to die. The latter, which is what the OP is complaining about, forces the remaining Survivor to move around to avoid the AFK crows, yet does nothing to help you win. It's borderline exploitative.
Erm… you mean slugging AFTER the other escaped or got killer or guarding the slugged while the other survivor is still around?
Guarding the slug while the other guy is still around.
Why not?
Is the downed guy the obsession? Could he have DS?
Without any clue where to search on anything but the smallest maps is pretty much a free pick up.
Since they buffed recovery that can happen in a run by.
If the killer is giving the other person the time to go search for the hatch and he is just making sure to get his 3rd K, why not?
It's still the killers choice.
Would I do it? Most likely not.
Would I want to have the option to? Yes. -

Like "camping" and they refuse to do gens. Because that is no "fun" and it's "unfair" and they still refuse to change their behavior and keep feeding the trolls/camper instead, but keep complaining.Of course you can requote it. I love how you're looking for a "fight" XD But unlike you, I'm not biased. This goes for both sides. If people playing survivor complains about silly stuff, then what I said is completely relevant for them as well. There's a lot of bad survivors, and they too need to practise and learn from their mistakes.
I do understand why people complain about camping though. I don't really care about it myself, it's up to the killer.. If he wants to stare at my face while I'm on the hook, sure, go ahead. I'm just going to move on and hope I'll have more fun in the next game. Luckily when I play survivor I only encounter campers in the lower ranks by more inexperienced killers right after rank reset. Even if I don't really care much about it, I don't think being facecamped is a fun and riveting gaming experience, and I can't imagine it being very much fun for the killer either just standing there. And the rest of the team won't have a very fun game either, since they just have to sit on a gen for a few minutes and then run out. I don't know about you, but I usually play games to have fun. If you think facecamping is fun, then great, and good for you.
So you are with me on this?
Survivor make camping viable?Only because they're bored out of their mind, or they don't know any better. I am in no way defending facecamping, because it is - you guessed it - boring. And like I said, I can't imagine it being exciting for the killer either, so I don't really understand why someone would do it. And I definitely do not agree with people who claim they are "forced" to camp. No one is holding a gun to your head. I do understand camping at certain points, like if all gens are done and the killer wants to secure his kill or something. I have no clue why people would camp their first survivor while all the gens are up, unless they get their kick out of boring other people just because they can..
You are aware that "facecamping" doesn't exist anymore?
And survivor "force" me to camp, when they do bad baits, running towards the hook in the plain open, hide badly nearby or just swarm the hook or hook rush aka playing overaltruistic.
I hope you get the picture here.Patrolling the hook is not the same as facecamping though. I'm fine with the killer running around the hook when he knows or have seen there's someone there. If survivors swarm the hook the minute you've hooked one of them, then yes, they are not very smart and I would not fault you for staying there and chasing them in the area. This is not what I was referring to. I'm talking about killers just standing close to the hook, even when there are no survivors around, because he thinks this is a good tactic. In this scenario, the best thing to do for survivors is to do gens - but it's boring as hell, and I hate when this happens. Killers who do this will also never get better at the game, and never learn to find, chase and mindgame survivors properly because they just stand still for most of the game.
I am aware that there's this silly discussion about semantics when it comes to the term "facecamping", but when I say facecamping I mean the killer standing close to the hook, "in the survivor's face", with no intention of moving away, regardless if survivors are around or not. If you call that something else: fine, it doesn't really matter to me what you call it, because that is besides the point

Actually we (killer) do not need to "learn to find new targets" when we camp, because the survivor will come to "us" (killer/camper).
That's the main point I am talking about. Survivor make camping viable.
Second point is -in case you think by now that I always camp, no matter what- I want to keep the OPTION to camp if I see it needed or beneficial.
That's why I always argue against ANY "punishments to camper". I don't want to get forced to play like the survivors want me to.
Any general mechanic against camping is just bad gamedesign, because at that point we could start making AI killer, that act according to all the made up rules of knightly sportsmanship. -

Did I make a :sarcastic: or a [/s]?
Lol, well if you are being serious, which i doubt. Getting shocked by some whacky ass doctor in a videogame isn't relatable to mental illness.
Somewhere you have to draw the line.
Not everything in a videogame has to be realistic, but this makes perfectly sense.
Feel free to disagree. -
Again: "Gen Rush"
There are 4 survivor, but only 1 killer.
The killer can always only chase 1 survivor and keep him of the gens.
Switching targets is not beneficial to the killer, because the other one will heal up asap and the chase until the 1st victim is on the hook only gets longer.
And good survivor spread out anyway and try to stay away from each other.
So with an average hit taking 30-40 seconds against a decent survivor (especially at the start of a match with all pallets still available) [good runner can make it even longer than that], plus the time to carry someone to the hook, we have 70-90 seconds for the 1st hook (not including DS, insta heals, etc.), while a gen is done in 80 seconds by a single survivor working on it (not included great checks and toolboxes).
So 3 gens can pop the moment the killer got his first hook.
Survivor have basically 6 objectives -5 gens and 1 gate- and have done half of them already.
Killer need at least 6 hooks (without camping) to kill 2 survivor, which is considered a "balanced" result.
If the killer wants to "win" and get more than 2 kills, he needs 9-11 hooks.
(Not talking about chases, because not every successful chase results in a hook.)
So the killer has achieved 1/6 of his objectives or 1/10 of his objectives, depending on what you aim for (2 kills are enough or more to "win").
So we have 50% of the survivors objectives completed versus 10% of the killers objectives in the same amount of time. But still there is this strange myth that this missmatch is a result of the killers "incompetence" to hunt or control the gens.

It's called "bait".Yes but camping is something you shouldn’t do. It actually TAKES AWAY bloodpoints and it’s not fair on survivors. Like I said, I’m 50/50 for whether I play survivor or killer. So, I know how crappy it is for the survivor when they get camped at the very start of the match.
Also, at high ranks, they don’t come for the rescue. The survivors let them die on the hook and do all of the gens instead.
LoL
Is it fair to get looped, gen rushed, tbagged?
Choose your poison, either you get mocked for not being able to kill or you kill and get insulted for camping.

The problem is that the Devs try to balance the game somewhere in the middle.
Trying to ease it on the low ranks and in the same process make it worse for the high ranks.
While low rank survivor get it slightly better, the high rank killer get it much worse.
Competitive Pvp games need to get balanced top down. That's how EVERY other game is doing it. I do no other game beside Dbd that is doing it otherwise.I just don't see that being viable unless you want to drive out casual survivors from the game entirely. If you balance DBD around the highest level of play, killers are going to be buffed/reworked across the board. That's going to turn the lower ranks into an absolute slaughterhouse for survivors who aren't sweating in a SWF group. I haven't been playing this game for a very long time, and I'm not an amazing killer, but I was casually 4-manning in all of my matches until I reached the tryhards. I just think that even without any of your proposed changes, killers are just too strong against lower-skilled survivors.
Than they need to implement mechanics that change the game depending on the rank you play.
For example something like: Lower ranks get more pallets, while high ranks get less.
Or something like that, with upcoming dedicated server and the option to do something against deranking, this could be done. -

The problem is that there isn't anything else for the survivors to do. The only objective is to do generators. I guess it really depends if you're playing against a swf or not. Because of all of the changes they have made to favour killers and buff them, the only way to play this game is with a set of friends. If you solo queue as a survivor, you get horrible teammates who don't save you and you're guaranteed to die if you don't play super immersed (And I've got over 1200+ hours on xbox one, so playing the game immersed as a survivor is extremely boring). And here we go.
1. Killer have hardly been buffed and they got buffed, because SWF is to strong. SWF is not the solution, but the problem.
2. Immersed should be the way to go. Instead survivor enjoy playing ring-around-the-rosie and bully the killer by playing pig-in-the-middle
3. The time survivor objectives take to do is way to short and killer objectives take way to long. That's what is called "gen rush". By the time the killer got his first hook, survivor can do 3 gens. Survivor need to do 5 gens and 1 gate = 6 objectives and half of them are done. The killer needs at least 6 hooks to kill 2 survivor for a "balanced" match. To "win" (3+kills) it would be at least 9 hooks, 11 if you spread the hooks among the team. And that's just the hooks, because every hook needs a successful chase, with DS, Insta heals, palletsaves and flashlightsaves that' could skyrocket. But let's just stick to the hooks, depending on what you call a killers "win", it's 6-11 hooks. Let's meet somewhere in the middle, like 8(+1/") hooks. So the killer did 1/8 of his objectives, while the survivor did 3/6 of their objectives. Do you see the problem now? So don't come here and complain about how hard survivor is after all those "buffs" to killer (and don't turn a blind eye on survivor buffs please, ok?) -

It's called "bait".
Usually at least 2 will stop doing gens and go for the rescue. Only one keeps doing gens, while you deal out some hits and watch the one guy die.
With Noed you might get the 2nd one on the hook and camp him too.
That way you doubled your regular
kill count and when the survivor start insulting you, you just answer "The Devs said 2 dead and 2 escape is a perfectly balanced match."

D-Strike was only brought it in because that is exactly what Laurie did in the film Halloween film with a needle and a wire hanger, I think we're lucky the Devs didn't let DS have 2 hits as she did in the film, this game would completely unplayable then. Also I think Wolf74 actually found a cool opposite to D-Strike for Killers but a balanced version would be every Survivor is Exposed until one of them goes down the first time, then everyone is back to normal. Of course if you're Leatherface of Hillbilly, even Myers, if they use their power they could get in two hits since it isn't technically a normal hit. I know Survivors cry about NOED all the time and this would be a weak version of NOED but it's just like DS where NOED is everyone until the totem is destroyed. I think we need this to balance out the game.
Thx, but why should one down change the status of the rest?
Serious… DS can be used multiple times on the killer.
That's the whole point that of my critic. If DS would be a true "one time use", it would not be as bad as it is, but I had matches with 3 DS against me. -

Seriously......absolutely insane people that just want ot punish others. IT'S A GAME!!!
Ok, at least we agree on THIS.
So now that we got common ground, tell me again, why should the killer get PUNISHED for using a legal and intended ingame tactic? -

OMG - I'm ashamed to be part of the killer community. I only play survivor with my wife, otherwise I main Trapper. I've only camped the most toxic of players, and have no issues with BT.That said, want to fix the problem for the poor survivor being camped by the drooling 15 year old killer? Simple, give them extra BP for each action taken by another survivor while they are on the hook and inside the killer's terror radius. If they are downed within 10 seconds of being unhooked, give them a bp boost of 1k "sacrificial lamb". Problem solved!
Why should survivor get any rewards for failure?
Where is the bloodpoint bonus for killer that fail?doublestandards
Yes, being camped and tunnelled is the survivor failing.
lmao, imagine being so blind."Hey guys, I'm going to do my best to stop this person participating in gen fixing & totem hunting, HAha he's such a failure this is totally his fault I'm not moving away from him or anything"
So they ended up on the hook, because they skillfully jumped up on there by themself?
Yea, sure… getting hooked is totally a sign of playing like a pro.

Not much but a little variety and might discourage people from hugging the killer with dime size spins. Dev's said killer turn rate is lower cause of fov, which can aid in them staying just outside the zone. Besides that if you know someone is going to go left or right why are you going to swing from top to bottom it just doesn't look right. Makes them look like a robot that can only move one leg and waving a solid arm.Are you aware that this is just an animations?
No matter how the attack looks, it is an "attackCONE". -

If only killers had a sweeping strike in addition to the chop. And what would that change??

For me, any suggestion to buff NM only shows the cokyness of the survivor.
They are so overconfident that they give up an entire healthstate to get some buffs. -

I don’t mind some meta perks just trying to stay away from ds, adrenaline and such. Self care should be fine as its almost mandatory when playing solo but also don’t mind bond. As for exhaustion perks I don’t mind as I usually run bl/deadhard but am open to using lithe, I just dislike sb though I know some people don’t use exhaustion perks at all
If a build has 2 of the hardcore meta perks, it should not include any runner ups, if you ask me.
Hard meta = SC/SB(BL/DH/Lithe)/DS
Runner ups = Adr, Bond, BT, Emp, IW, NM, UE, We#ll make it, WGLFJust MHO

He asked for a NON META build, buddy, and you include SC, BT and We'll make it?

NOED was a perk and not a HEX?Of course, when Noed came out, there had been no Hex perks.
Original Noed was a perk without a timelimit.
Than it got a 2 min timelimit and no one used it anymore.
Than it became a Hex and it works until destroyed (IF it ever triggers). -

Edit: Also, Wolf, I think Scratched Mirror got disregarded because it offers aura reading just by pressing a button. Could be wrong. Idk.
And how effective is that if you can see them but can't hit them, cause they loop you to kingdom come?
