I will buy with money. Why not.

    Because he is poorly designed?

  • The whole locker buff is garbage from the get go.

  • Since I have the shards anyway, I might "buy" Legion, just because I have all the killer.
But for sure I skip on the survivor skin that make me more visible (Jeff).
If I want a bearded, scar eyed survivor, I can play David.
For sure I am not spending real money on any of this.

  • The grind through the bloodweb will be terrible with all the perks that you can't use just spamming in your bloodweb.
Image in a low level Legion with bad luck and just tons of perks to choose from which he can't benefit from.

BT is already a meta runner up.
One of those 4th slots that people take after they picked their usual loadout of SB,SC,DS.
After the patch it won't be a runner up, but a solid 3rd perk choice (after the op SC and SB).
Maybe some people will run either DS or BT, but since BT now encourages to chase the unhooker, it will most likely be used together.
So the holy trinity will become the holy quadruple (SC,SB,DS;BT).

My slugging doc will create loads of salt

The threads complaining about slugging will skyrocket again.

DS and Noed are NOT different sides of the same coin.
You are comparing apples and oranges.
DS is way better than Noed.
Have you every seen DS destroyed before you could use it?

with ds you can juggle the survivor, with noed you can destroy all of the totems. DS gives a free escape from the killers grasp, NOED gives a free exposed effect and we dont even get the luxury of knowing you have NOED its a suprise unlike DS. not apples and oranges because they both are OP

DS works from the get go. You do not have to wait for it till all gens are done.
    That's a huge momentum advantage.
This is only comparable to a perk that would expose all survivors right from the start.
How would you like a DS that only works after all gens are done and that could be destroyed in advance?
Don't even pretend they are on the same level.

What do you plan on running on legion and will you even buy him?
Edit: Franklin's could also potentially be good but as always it's situational

Thanatophobia is still a garbage perk. The values are still way to low to do anything.

So that "blob" is actually working as intended.

THATS EXACTLY WHATS WRONG WITH DS!

You compare ONE perk with the strongest killer in the game, with 3 specific perks, add-ons and a rare item.

You can use DS every game, but with 3 blink and mori you have to grind for these items and add-ons after every use.

I'm saying that DS no where near as strong as that but I agree that it needs to be changed. 3 blinks however is stronger than any crutch in the game.

So you compare 3 blinks which needs either 2 add ons 1 very rare add on to get with a perk that doesn't need anything else…?

This IS NOT a strictly competitive based game, and the devs have made that so-clear.

There are 2 sides, one solo versus a team.
Both played by and against actual humans (aka PVP).
How can that be "non competitive"?
This is no coop game. Someone needs to lose for the other to win.
Even in the "balanced" game with 2 dead/2 escape, the dead "lost".

    C'mon now.

People keep saying survivors are overpowered but BHVR showed the stats on one of their streams in November (I believe the 15th?) and even at rank one across platforms, percentage of survivors escaping is 40-45%. Getting average 2 kills out of 4 possible sounds fairly fair to me (although I wish they'd drill down further and have shared the rates per character)

Those stats most likely included DCs as "kill".
Also matches where less than 4 spawned had been included.
And snowballing from 1 DCing, ragequitting or suiciding on the hook have been included.
Same for overaltruistic plays, where 3 could have escaped, but they tried to "safe em all" and got rekt.
Or just outright overconfident survivor that played cocky to farm some point instead of leaving.

As long as survivor do not NEED to survive to rank up, these stats are pointless.

My reasoning behind it is that you’re encouraging more toxicity by making some people who we know are very vulgar  survivor/killer mains  on the forums HAVE to respond if they want to show they disagree instead of hitting a button and moving on, there are too many immature people on here who will definitely derail a topic for disagreeing now because it’s the only way they can show their non approval creating arguments with some people who can’t handle when people don’t always agree.

Then those people will get banned and the forum will be all the better for it. That's what we call a win-win.

I just don't see that being viable unless you want to drive out casual survivors from the game entirely. If you balance DBD around the highest level of play, killers are going to be buffed/reworked across the board. That's going to turn the lower ranks into an absolute slaughterhouse for survivors who aren't sweating in a SWF group. I haven't been playing this game for a very long time, and I'm not an amazing killer, but I was casually 4-manning in all of my matches until I reached the tryhards. I just think that even without any of your proposed changes, killers are just too strong against lower-skilled survivors.

You mean what happened with league, hearthstone and halo. Oh wait that didnt happen because heres the thing a game can balance itself without effecting lower ranked players. Low ranked killers will still bump into terrain chase badly and get juked easily. Lower ranked survivours can and will take advantage of that.

People tend to forget that killers as well as survivours play like crap at low ranks too.

People tend to forget that because the base stats of the killer more than compensate for it. It doesn't take much skill to chase down and whack someone a couple of times when you move significantly faster than them. Survivors become overpowered because of coordination and teamwork compounding their own skill. That's what they rely on in high ranks. Lower skilled survivors are also uncoordinated, which leaves them sitting ducks for all but the most brain-dead killers. My inspiration for starting this topic was a match I had where a Huntress 4-manned me and some randoms without throwing a single hatchet and facecamping the entire time.

Please tell me I'm not the only one feeling this way?

I try to address this in a civil manner, ok?

Noed already recieved several balancing nerfs.
It used to be unlimited after the gens are powered.
Than it got limited to 2 min, which resultet in no one using it anymore.
Than totem became a thing and Noed became a Hex and is unlimited until destroyed.
Just last patch when all talked about the Noed buff that all tier now have an insta down, the tier 3 variant got nerfed.
So... in a nutshell, Noed right now is very balanced.
The killer decided to play most of the game with one perk doing nothing and is risking that this perk will get destroyed before it ever triggers.
And it is actually not so hard to do for survior, since they are FOUR player. It's not like one person needs to find all 5 totems.
If every survivor just gos into the game of cleansing at least one dull totem, chances are pretty good that Noed never will trigger (4 totems done plus one Hex[Ruin] destroyed, poof goes Noed).

so please don't be lazy, don't gen rush, just do totems.

thank you for actually talking in a civilized manner and making good points , I would agree with you but I feel like I'm the only one that goes totem hunting in this game and I mostly only play solo so it's quite infuriating having to do work like this on my own since the other survs just wanna farm or bully the killer

Trust me, this is a topic, I have a hard time holding me back.

Anyway, the survivor are a team. The have to perform together in some way.
If some are distracting the killer, the rest is free to do objectives. Those are gens as well as totems.
If the team ignores that, they pay for it.
If they work together, either everyone doing some totems or 1 or 2 do them while the other distract (aka bully) the killer, they succeed (easy).

It's like that because you are not going to get away anyway. Even if you did theoretically get the 4% or you deliveranced off the hook, the killer could just as easily stand right there and down you again. There is no way to get endurance by unhooking yourself so you're basically as good as dead.

The way it currently it just speeds up the process. You don't have to wait for the survivor to attempt an escape, get immediately downed and then rehooked. It just ends the game so everyone can move on to the next one.

A change of approach that may or may not be a hot take: If a survivor is the last one and pulls off a self unhook, they get borrowed time and or adrenaline following the unhook? Maybe the kobe gets both, and deliverance only gets the borrowed time? Would make it a more impactful and less hopeless scenario, while still being fair to the "unbroken" last survivors.

If nothing that extreme, then at least some kind of bloodpoint bonus, similar to how killers get one for ragequitting survivors

    no
    more
    second
    chances
you were downed and hooked with noone else to save you, you lost, you don't need a free BT/adren because you feel entitled to an escape

You seem to have completely missed the context of the discussion, so let me repeat it for you: the issue is with the last survivor not getting any chance at either Deliverance or a 4% self unhook. If you get to that point and your first hook is the last hook in the match, chances are you were not the worst player on the team. And if you were? This suggestion would mean literally nothing except more free BP for the killer. The suggestion offered is one that would hardly guarantee a free escape, but would add a bit more to the match. The survivor gets a chance to stuggle a bit more, the killer gets even more bloodpoint chances (which should be super easy, at this point, tb) so its really a win/win.

    And what would it change?
    It would only waste time.
Because the killer has nothing to do but stand there and wait for your try to unhook and hit you as soon as you hit the ground.
Let's just skip this nonsense and just give them a bloodpoitn scoreevent, like +500BP for "last man standing".

Which is why the borrowed time and or adrenaline were mentioned: it would give the survivor a running start, which could lead to a chance to defend themselves. The only way this wouldn't be a BP buff for the killer is if they were afraid of actually having to play the game a little bit more. If this is the first time the person was hooked, you've already lost out on a good amount of sacrifice points as it is.

BT does not trigger if you unhook yourself.
Adrenaline is a very small situational chance that it could trigger.
And you already got extra handholding from the Devs: Invulnerability until you landed, free exhaustion relief, new perks to buff self unhooks.
What more are you asking for??
At some point this becomes insane.

Did you read my suggestion, or just the killer complaining about it? let me repeat it real quick:

"If a survivor is the last one and pulls off a self unhook, they get borrowed time and or adrenaline following the unhook? Maybe the kobe gets both, and deliverance only gets the borrowed time?"

And in case you also purposely ignored the rest of the scenario, this is specifically about last man standing situations where either the player never got to activate a selected perk (Deliverance,) or never got to even attempt to unhook themselves after going the entire match literally Unbroken. It also gives the killer a chance to get more BP in multiple categories, and would be an incredibly uphill battle for a survivor to even be able to do anything with.

    lol
Yea, I actually did not read this.^^
And it would had been better if you not mention that again. XD
You ask for such an insane strong buff that it is beyond hilarious.
Stop asking for more safety nets and 2nd chances.
Survivor already have more than enough.

So in other words, you'd rather make absolutely sure you get the 4k as easy as possible, without having to put in a small amount of extra work to get a lot more bloodpoints? Its no wonder all you ever do on this forum is complain about survivors.

Here we go again… the usual strawman of "easy 4K".
If arguments run out, it is the killer asking for an "easy 4K".
(And don't forget to spice it up with a little personal attack of "your biased!")

How about you "process logic" now?
The killer already did everything! The killer already killed 3 and hooked the last.
No need to put some "extra work" into it.

Now you're just misreading on purpose. I never said 4Ks are easy, just that this exact scenario would make SECURING your 4K Easier. You already have the 4k at the moment this scenario has happened: the last survivor has been placed on the hook. This is saying they giving them a chance to make their first hook not be their last hook. Its also saying the killer can actually cap out sacrifice points, since a good chunk of them come from actually placing survivors on the hook. The only difference is that the killer would have to work slightly harder to be able to secure the last kill, possibly. You know, assuming the survivor even pulls off the 4% self unhook, or is running a perk that would have literally otherwise done nothing.

I don't need to make my 4K "easier" in that scenario. I already HAVE it!
You just want another safety net to rob the killer of his ALREADY gained 4th K.

And 4% is wrong, because it is 3x4% and the survivor can run perks/offerings to increase that to up to 100%.
    So just NO!

If nothing that extreme, then at least some kind of bloodpoint bonus, similar to how killers get one for ragequitting survivors

you were downed and hooked with noone else to save you, you lost, you don't need a free BT/adren because you feel entitled to an escape

Spirits can just spam their power until the get lucky. Huntress and Hillbilly are the only balanced killers.

    Have you ever played Spirit?
Are you aware that she can NOT actually SEE anybody while phasewalking??

  • @Auspun said:

    @Wolf74 said:
Or just imagine the killer could pick a perk that would actually be like DS.
Let us call it "decisive attack".
"2/3/4 survivor start the match exposed. This status is removed after they got downed once."

    How would you like that?
DS makes a 2 hit chase a 3 hit chase, this perk would make a 2 hit chase a 1 hit chase.
    Would you like that?

Devil's advocate but that's NOED (except at the start rather than end). And yeah it's possible to counter by cleansing all totems but searching for them takes up time that could be spent towards escaping, especially if you're solo because then you have no clue how competent your others are or if they're cleaning totems

And while D-Strike doesn't have a way to get rid of it in advance, it does have the Obsession to indicate that there's at least one person with it so if you see someone as the Obsession then you can adjust accordingly, whether that's chasing towards hooks, waiting til they're close enough to a hook to be able to pick up or dribble, or angling yourself so that if they strike they'll be dropped into a corner.

It's also notable that D-strikes aren't an automatic thing but a skill check, I'm sure they're hit more often at higher ranks but still not a guarantee. I usually go against killers in the lvl 10-8 range and the number of games where _any _of the survivors have an Obsession period is maybe 1/4 games, a fraction that can get reduced further depending on if killer is running Obsession perks (or if they're running a survivor Obsession perk like OoO, unlikely I know)

I think any nerf intended like making it Obsession-only should have other effects if you've not the Obsession so it's not a wasted perk slot

Your not really "right" about it (although I neither call you completely wrong). But...
Noed only works after all gens are done, which is a completely different momentum of the game.
DS can be used right from the get go and since this game has a lot of snowball potential this momentrum is really important.
And like you already mentioned, Noed can get destroyed before it ever starts working, unlike DS.

I had an hour long game against a Spirit that outright refused to kill a guy because she wanted the 4k. I was injured (no SC and no medkit, all the chests were opened) and we need to do 2 more gens. I knew where hatch was, which was on the opposite side of the map from the other survivor. She would down him, camp the body, then get impatient and pick-up/drop them until they broke free. Then she would chase them for a bit and down them again. She did this OVER 10 TIMES!!!! What utter bull #########.

The guy messaged me (Xbox) and said "do gens" which I replied "I can't bc I'm injured and I also only know where 1 gen is" (it was on Lery's and the only gen I knew about was in treatment center which was basically suicide). Eventually I found another gen in a corner somewhere, so I told him to just keep her away from this side of the map. I did that gen, she continued to do her BS. At some point she let the guy go completely, and he healed then found me and healed me. We split up and I found another gen (he went to TC to do that gen). She found him obviously, but he was maybe 15 seconds from bleeding out. He did the gen in her face, and she finally decided to hook him. I dodged her BBQ making her think I went to the gate and took hatch.

The really sad part is that this killer would have easily double pipped if she just killed the guy when she caught him that first time. She got a hook on me already, and there were 2 gens left. She basically held the game hostage for no reason other than to satisfy her ego, and at the end of ALL that BS she still didn't kill me (a typical outcome to these sorts of games). I told the guy thank you for taking the death and I owe him one if I see him again in the future. I woulda been fine to trade places with him if necessary, but that's not how things went down. He was cool about it and just wanted 1 of us to escape, so we at least accomplished that.

Killers that do this are literal cancer to the game. If she wants to slug the guy and come look for me, fine, but don't expect me to be a moron and come heal the guy when it's obvious you are camping him. Man up and leave, take the chance I save him if you want the 4k. Or kill him and take your 2 pip so the game can end. Don't be a spoiled brat.

@Orion Is the above a "dick move"? Most likely, yes.
Was it unfair or an exploit? No.
Can a killer really take the game hostage that way? No.
(Taking hostage as a killer only works with last survivor and no hatch or with bodyblocking the basement)
Who do you want to play the judge? Situations like this have so many variables, especially on the person playing it. Do you really want mechanics that force player to play a certain way to avoid this? Such things would always impact ALL player, not just the "dicks".
And btw, survivor play like douches for 2 years now and there are no outcry to force any mechanics on them to avoid that.
Not leaving the map while the gate is already open and farm extra chase points by looping near the gate and stuff like that.
