So now in exchange killer get better registration for their grabs? Since those are also bugged for almost a year by now?

Or do killer get nothing at all anymore? I don't care since I normally respect all pallets and prefer to brake them for the BP and less stress later in the game but canceled grabs without any injury bugged me also for months/years.

    Kill grab registration wasn't changed...

All they did was just give you the score event/Archive completion for failed grab.

That flatout said that this patch has temp killer grab compensation but not any real fixes yet.

  • Yep and they are bugged in some of the weirdest ways.

Like failed grabs instant sawing people as billy for no reason.

  • Is anyone surprised that the devs took the laziest "Iframe" route with the pallet drops?

  • Here's a (I think Russian) saying that I think will ring true for DbD as a whole:

"There's nothing more permanent then a temporary solution".

So I doubt that anything will change on the grab front for a long time if ever.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Why is this a bad thing necessarily?

Nearly everyone hates the map and outside of head popper pig, pig is no fun to play on it either as you can't really stealth on the map as her.

  • I'm sorry but I am really not getting how you got this.

If he hates people like his father and profiles them then he's probably would attack Drunks/Abusers in a type of vigilante justice...

Which doesn't fit his character at all.

Let alone what does race have anything to do with it?

Her power just has a bad hitbox. Hitting someone with puke is a matter of luck and a lot of experience to know how to drag your camera. You have to aim to the left and to the right of the survivor as rapidly as you can for it to register a hit, just jerk your mouse around like crazy and you will eventually get it.

I think they meant her power was disabled for whatever reason.

Which means is now YET ANOTHER killer with that type of game breaking bug.

This stridor nerf was just stupid. There was no reason to nerf this perk.

Also I noticed threads on iron will being overpowered even a little before stridor was nerfed. So what caused that?

It is a strong perk so people do complain about it from time to time.

However most of the time the "Iron will" thread tend to be talking about bugs that cause the effect and not the perk itself.

  • @dspaceman20 said:

It's weird people are just now talking about it. It's been in the game for how long and suddenly now it's overpowered. Where were the threads before about Iron will?

It got buffed this patch with it being uneffected by stridor or any other pain noise increasing effects.

So it makes sense that people would talk about a strong perk that just got buffed and removed its only counters in the game.

  • This is why I like the idea that the playerbase has for making an official workshop for people to submit their cosmetic ideas/Cosmetic mods to potentially be whitelisted in the game.

It would allow these type of cosmetics to be made while still not letting people cheat with mods.

Not exactly. This person is trying to bring up an issue with regression in general. And in my experiences, Overcharge is always effective... rarely ever had Survivors complete that Skill Check. But maybe that's just me.

I mainly bring up the overcharge part from personal experience on both sides.

As unless I am having a really bad game I usually always hit overcharge skill checks as they are predictable for when they happen.

As for killer I rarely see the generator I kicked last explode with overcharge despite it being repaired.

  • @Shroompy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2387751#Comment_2387751

Even then people who use those methods are still a VERY small percentage of the playerbase.

So no, its not that bad at all. Besides stretched res is not NEARLY as much of an advantage as people make it out to be.

Its been proven repeatedly that stretched rez can make several tiles completely safe and un-mindgamable.

The competative teams wouldn't have every single member doing it if it didn't give a noticeable advantage.

I am going to guess that you use stretched rez?

  • @TerrorUnleashed said:

Have you tried running perks like Overcharge and Pop before?

Overcharge doesn't do anything to against good survivors as they can hit the skill check reliably.

Also I doubt they are talking about Pop as that's an instant regression not the overtime regression they are referring too.

  • @Shroompy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2387741#Comment_2387741

From what Ive seen, theres only a very small portion of the playerbase who did it and I highly doubt many of them did it to gain an advantage, not enough anyway to see a difference in gameplay

Given how many people use stretched resolution and shaders to get an advantage in game...

I think its A LOT MORE then you'd think.

  • @Shroompy said:

just a coincidence, I dont think running around as SpongeBob gave much of an advantage

Yes but a lot of them just removed chase music meant to silence the other side's chase noises.

Along with turning for example stealth killers Neon Pink so they can always see them from a distance.

I doubt most modders did that but...There are always bad apples that ruin it for everyone.

  • That's pain moan of the dead survivor.

Its a recurring bug the game has as it seems forgets to disable the sounds of dead survivors.

Dead survivors are technically in the game but can't do anything past passive buffs like leader/Streetwise to survivors near their "Corpse"

    God, if only.

Having 2 stories to an indoor map is god awful.

    3 stories*

The library still exsists as a 3rd floor.

  • Disclaimer before people complain: This is purely a "What if we were forced to Add X to Y" so please don't complain about wraith in this.

Wraith would have ghosts that have the same invisibility/ shimmer rules as the wraith.

When a survivor gets close enough to them they will reveal themselves by uncloaking with a mentalic crushing sound then try to grab and cling to the survivor.

They move as fast as survivors but can lunge like the killer but at half Duration. They fade away 15 seconds after decloaking or miss two lunges.

The survivors whom the ghosts are clinging to will both scream and be hindered for 30 seconds until the ghost fades away. Other survivors can pull the ghost away to cleanse the hindered status.

Ghosts that fade away/pulled off will respawn else where and all ghosts are mostly immobile(Can move slightly but only at half crawling speed) until survivors get close.

Ghosts randomly teleport every 30 seconds unless the killer or a survivor is nearby. They spawn near generators/killer/Mainbuilding but can't re spawn within aggro range of a survivors.

  • It depends on the killer as its either way too easy or nearly impossible to reach red ranks depending on who you play the most:

Legion's emblems are Hyper-Inflated and I have legitimately pipped while in purple ranks with a 0k as Legion and I can't really remember the last time I have ever depiped as Legion.

Meanwhile the Plague's emblems are Hyper-Deflated to where its nearly impossible to pip and is even possible to get a 4k and DEPIP as the Plague.

  • @TatsuiChiyo said:

Only of your actions can be construed as "forced farming", and by that it's not letting other Survivors play as intended.

Example, I like to farm Killer dailies and challenges. Just now I waa doing Clown daily to hit intoxicated Survivors and get chase time. Was chasing a David, not hitting him just staring at his back. Eventually he stops, stares at me, and shakes his head no, so I left him and found a Jake to chase.

Had I say, followed the David and kept throwing bottles at him to force him off gens but never attacked him that could be reported and be bannable.

As for being "nice" and letting the last Survivor go, unless it can be proven you were working together, both you and the other Survivor are safe

Nothing in their post said they were preventing the survivors from doing generators and leaving.

So they broke no rules and thus can't get reported for it.

    As for the OP.

Some people are just sore losers who can't stand watching their teammates win and will make up any excuse to try to justify their unfounded anger.

You should just ignore those people.

I never mentioned their power... I've been primarily playing Ghost Face. I'm not talking about the room next to the window on the right, I'm talking about the path towards the right after you use the window

The wall next to the window? Oh it makes it remarkably easy when broken. If they go left there will be a hole but not even balance can help with that because a killer will immediately drop down shortly after and on the left is too long with no safety so they'll get hurt

The stairway side aka the right side(If your looking at it from the doorway).

The left side has the door aka that side isn't good.

Heck it isn't uncommon for killers(At least in red ranks) to not break the upstairs window wall as it doesn't matter.

Btw the elevation changes does mess with the killer's powers as I don't believe either the doctor's power nor pyramid head's power can hit you while your above them on the stairway.

  • @DwarvenTavern said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2383375#Comment_2383375

Really? I never had an issue chasing a survivor on the map after I broke the door next to the window. It always felt super unsafe.

Huh. Thanks for telling me, but still. I feel like it become super unsafe

The issue with the window is survivors looping it on the long side aka the side that doesn't have the door as its a long elevation changing open LoS loop that is unmindgamable.

I don't know if breaking the door effects that loop at all with how far away it is from the window on that side.

Its like the haddonfield windows: Nearly useless to the average survivor but overpowered against good survivors.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2383360#Comment_2383360

The main building is very good, until the killer breaks the walls, then it just feels wayyyy to dangerous to deal with

Not really as the back window is still a near infinite WITH the door broken and its still next to shack and the gallows' god pallet.

What kills survivors 90% of the time is completing the safe generators first then being left with the generators in the massive deadzones the map has.

  • The map is a LOT more survivor sided then most people think especially with the main building whose window loops most killers can't use their powers on(the back upstairs window is a near infinite even with bloodlust if run right).

Let alone there's always 2 generators that spawn on 2nd floor areas that both are always next to shack and shack is always next to the main building with a strong pallet always spawning behind it.

Effectively as long as the survivors leave the main building/gallows generators for last they should always win unless they are facing one of the very few killers who can deal with that set up.

  • @WTBacon said:

I once had a teammate die on hook because I couldn't find out how to reach them.

Don't worry it gets even better!

Some areas of the map can have door ways killers can bodyblock doorways you to force you to run halfway across the map to get to the other side of!

Its so much fun having teammates lose a hook state or die because a killer bodyblocked one doorway because the map design is just that well!

  • Its a map that has been timed that going from the west most wall and east most wall with the shortest route takes the same amount of time(Less then a 0.10 of a second difference) to cross as it does to go from one side of mother's dwelling to the other in a straight line.

Yes the map is effectively as long as mother's dwelling along with it being a 3 story tall map(The library is the third story).

Your not missing much from not playing it on either side.

It could happened by accident however. Lets say you get unhooked and the killer comes right back to tunnel. You get in a chase and accidently click the healing button, which has happened to me and other people I'm sure. So yeah I don't think healing yourself should deactivate ds, healing other yes.

Isn't the self heal command disabled while running?

So how in the world do you accidentally self heal mid chase?

  • They constantly blinded the blight before his PoV fix and not much else.

Also as someone who played blight through that made me realize these offerings are unbalance-able.

I feel like they should just be removed for the same reason the moonlight offerings were: To let the developers actually control both the ambience and stealth possibilities of all maps.

It would make their design ideals more consistent along with just clearing out the bloodweb of junk.

  • @Rivyn said:

Why do you swing when coming out of Lethal Rush? I've only ever faced Blight once as survivor, so I didn't see it there (corn map), but I see a variety of streamers do it. Not when you're trying to flick, or hit a pallet, but just when Rush is about to end and there's nothing to actually hit. Is it to skip part of the fatigue or something?

Because swinging late lets you keep your MAX speed while normally it would decrease. This grants you more distance.

Plus there is only an extra cooldown on landed hits.

Aka Missed hits DON'T increase the post rush cooldown while giving you more distance from your rush.

    This Forum...

There is a Killer player who is legit taking the game hostage by not progressing it (by either hooking the Survivors or letting them just bleed out) or by letting the Survivors progress it and it still gets defended in this Forum.

One: I have flat out said in other comments that the killer needed to be reported for griefing. Not holding the game hostage.

Two: Your doing the same bloody thing defending the survivors who WERE holding the game hostage by never progressing their objective as the other survivor was dealing with the killer. Thus holding the game hostage by refusing to do their objective themselves as the killer can't stop both without killing one.

So if you want to talk down about the forum look at what your doing yourself first.

This game the thread is based off of is a prime example of both sides of that game being in the wrong.

  • @MadLordJack said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2379609#Comment_2379609

If the killer can hook a survivor but instead forces them to wiggle off, it is the killer's fault. There is no question. There is no argument to be made. You cannot expect scares solo survivors to know when and where it's safe to do gens. You can expect the killer to do their ######### job.

This is literally reportable behaviour under the broken rule of "don't hold the game hostage". A killer can get banned for this. Survivors can't, not unless they were hiding across the map. And if that was the case, the killer couldn't have been patrolling the gens.

Stop trying to defend arseholes by pretending there's some clause in the rules. Griefing via holding the game hostage cannot get clearer than this.

I'm not defending the killer AT ALL!

I am just so sick and tired of people crying the game is being held hostage when its not.

    @MadLordJack said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2379609#Comment_2379609

Maybe theres something else you're confused by: It's still holding the game hostage even if the game has a potential end point, if that end point is ridiculously far away and being dragged out by one party being fully capable of completing their objective but actively refusing to.

PS. This would apply to the survivors too as one always refused to do their objective while the killer was dealing with the other. Also dribbling shows auras while being held makes the bleed-out timer pause and glow so the other survivor has no excuse!

So everyone in this game should be reported!

  • @MadLordJack said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2379600#Comment_2379600

This is literally an example of a killer holding the game hostage. The survivors can't do gens because solo que, the killer can hook people but refuses to and instead drags the trial out for as long as possible. It is absolutely reportable because it can take over an hour for both survivors to die when killers do this. It is holding the game hostage because they could have ended it but chose not to.

It is literally impossible for the killer to stop EVEN ONE OF THEM from doing a generator without killing them.

    Let alone two.

So if the other survivor refused to do the last generator while this survivor dealt with the killer then its on the other survivor.

Heck its even on this survivor as 16 seconds of regression aka the wiggle timer is counteracted by the survivor working on the generator for 4 seconds.

Also if the killer downs + kicks the survivor will bleed out or complete the generator and if they don't kick then the survivor will complete the generator eventually anyways.

The killer was being a massive jerk but the survivors are at fault for how long it went on for.

Edit: The killer IS reportable here for GREIFING but NOT for holding the game hostage.

As the killer was greifing the survivors even if they weren't holding the game hostage.

  • @MadLordJack said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2376647#Comment_2376647

No, that is a killer holding the game hostage. If people aren't getting hooked despite being chased and downed only for the killer to force them to wiggle off by repeatedly dropping them and then going back to camping gens, it's holding the game hostage.

But no, killers can do no wrong.

There is no possible way for the killer to do that and the survivors to not finish the generators or bleed out.

As its impossible for the killer to stop both survivors while doing that or even the progress of one survivor who the moment they wiggled out instantly jumps back onto the generator as the stun on the killer will let the generator progress.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2379032#Comment_2379032

Not if the Killer keeps to pick them up. The game will never end at this point.

    Here's the thing though:

There is no possible way for the killer to not kill the survivors while keeping generators from being completed.

Lets just say the killer is solely doing generator grabs on a survivor then dropping them.

There's no window to kick the generator so the survivor slowly slipping out will eventually complete the generator by themselves.

Also if the killer is downing them kicking then doing the pick up/drop then one of the two happens: Either the survivor bleeds out with the attack cooldown timer+ kick or they complete the generator as they fix generators 4 times faster then they can passively regress without ruin.

Mind you this post's game is with two survivors so even if the killer is doing this to stall one of them the other has free reign to complete one of the other generators.

  • Part of the issue with the burn out is that the game's grind is so horrible outside of the very infrequent events that you feel forced to burn yourself out whenever an event comes around.

Its entirely understandable for it to become exhausting as you're kinda forced to go all out during them.

Mind you this problem is ENTIRELY of the dev's own making with letting the game's current grind get this out of control + increasingly infrequent events.

My 2nd game ever on the RE map as survivor i was playing against a doctor who had all but 2 generators spawn on the right side of the map(From the entrance doorway PoV).

There was only one generator that spawned on the left half of the map and the one that always spawns in the middle area.

The other 5 where all squished together on the back of the right side so close I could swear he landed a single shock therapy on survivors on 2 separate generators while most of the front of the right side was barren of any generators.

Some small changes could make him much stronger, mainly adding multi stalk again.

Problem is that him with tomb piece and multi stalk would be OP.

The tombstone piece could just have the additional downside of:

You can only gain evil from one survivor at a time while stalking.

In fact this could probably be on infinite T3 add-on too(it also would mean infinite T3 + tombstone always has this downside.)

  • Oni has a horrible early game with the game becoming more and more early game dependent due to the current meta.

This is before you consider the fact that his power is extremely punishing and hard to use.

Plus windows and even simple TL walls can force you to drop the chase because you lack a normal lunge while empowered causing those tiles to be insanely strong against an empowered Oni.

So its not overly surprising he's not seen much: Bad in the current meta + hard to play + Window tiles destroy him.

"The map feels small and closed in. Some generators are hidden behind or within houses, but the ones on the wide open street are what pose threats to the objective. It lacks common loop walls everyone has gotten used to. There are fences to make up for it, but they pose a risk as Killers can still hit through them. Hag needs a proper rework. Even if we ignore the core problem with hooks. Her power is all about getting nearly guaranteed hits if a trap that can only be interacted with with flashlights goes off.

Make hag 115 percent killer and have it so that after teleporting hag cannot attack for X time (probably just 1 - 2 seconds). Hags then allow her to navigate quickly throughout the map and she turns into a standard killer in chase.

Obviously other changes would be needed, but that's where I'd start.

So you want to turn her into a glorified prebuff wraith who can't control her own mobility?

What's even the bloody point in having her power when it made to be worse then literally all alternatives such as just playing Wraith/Demo/Twins?

  • Its simple:

Its the survivor's team's job to spread out the hooks.

As 2 people hiding all game and not doing generators vs a chase heavy killer like Deathslinger or Spirit is a quick way of losing the half of the team that wasn't hiding all game.

Aka Learn to take Aggro. Sometimes your forced to get into bad chases with the killer to not lose teammates.

My teammates hiding all game is what usually gets me killed as survivor despite my best efforts to progress the game.

  • This game already has issues of people ranking up to fast resulting in the match making feeding them to the wolves.

Aka a yellow rank survivor team VS Otz

    or

Yellow rank killer Vs Team Oracle type of one sided slaughter.

Yet you want to make this WORSE for killers!?

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

As long as Bloodlust exists - yes, safe Pallets are a good design. You need those with Bloodlust, you need Pallets which need to be broken.

Personally, I think there should be no Bloodlust, very few safe Pallets on each Map and a huge number of unsafe Pallets. Unsafe Pallets are playable by Killers, they are fair. The better player wins.

And IMO it would be a better design, because good Survivors will be rewarded. Everyone can play a Longwall-Pallet, but playing unsafe Pallets is more difficult.

Sadly I doubt it will ever happen as blood lust is still needed to counter all the infinite loops in the game.

I mean there still are pseudo infinites like the upstairs saloon window even with bloodlust that even when it gets blocked leads into another god window down stairs. Let alone it always spawns next to shack.

Just imagine how much of that map would have to change to remove bloodlust and that is only one map.

  • He really just needs a better Tier 3 for how hard it is to actually get.

1 extra meter for how long it takes to get is kinda pathetic.

Maybe changing it to tier 3 injures regardless of being infected or not.

    or

Change it so it can hit a survivor and break a pallet at the same time.
