You got it wrong, friend. There should be a penalty to survivors who mindlessly rush to the hook when the killer is camping, instead of doing what they should: GE-NE-RA-TORS.

    @George_Soros
Some people think that they only win if they survive. I personally think i've won when i've been helpful to my team.

No disagreement there, but a survivor helps very little if he gets downed by a hard camping killer. Unless you're running BT, there's not much chance you can pull it off.

Can struggle till the end to give more time to other teammates instead of giving up :)

Oh yes, I personally hate hook suicides as much as DC-s. It's the same inability to deal with a setback, plus not wanting to lose that 934 BP.

934? How fast do you hammer that keyboard? i never get past 863.

    What is MLGA?

It started out as a very useful tool to check the ping in a match before the devs added that feature into the base game. During that time, it was whitelisted by the devs.

It quickly devolved into a method of blocking players and learning the identity of killers before the match started. It was then un-whitelisted.

Ironic because killers can already do this by default. As if being able to check survivor steam profiles adds anything positive to the game.

That´s no the same, and you know it.
MLGA put killers on a black list, for playing as Freddy and other bullshit reasons.

  • Have you tried playing killer? Maybe that´s more enjoyable for you.

  • He desperately needs a buff.
His chainsaw charge is unreliable, because the whole charge is lost, if you release the button a split second to early. You can't use charge addons on him, because that screws with the muscle memory. Most if his addons do nothing anyway.

So yes, he's broken. But not in a OP way.

So we can all agree that Ruin is either great or more often pretty eye candy till the kids go raid your trick or treat stash.

My idea is to change it from a Hex perk to a regular perk but change the name and how t works completely. So without further ado I give you the new and improved Ruin not called Ruin..

    New Perk:

Power of The Entity - The way this perk will work is similar to how Ruin currently works but with twists and a power curve based upon time and tier.

Description - You call upon the power of the Entity to help hinder survivors escape attempts and lessen their hopes of escape. (The Entity feeds of survivors loss of hope of escape).

Effect - By calling on the power of the entity you slow down generator progress on all generators with a powerful effect that hinders repair progress.

Tier I - All generators are effected by the Entity's power and repair progress is slowed by x amount (same as current Ruin) or an additional slower speed but no so much that it's boring to M1 for 2 minutes. Normal skill checks result in 3 % gen regression but no explosion. Great skill checks result in no regression but no explosion.

Tier II - Same as above but the timer is 5 minutes but good skill checks don't blow it up and the regression penalty is 5%.

Tier III- No this one is the beast since it adds some possibilities here. The timer is 7 minutes until it's power wanes and the regression penalty is 7%. It also causes an instant skill check on anyone else doing a gen if 1 person blows it up.

Gens currently being worked on retain their power of the entity until either a skill check comes up and is successfully done once the power has waned.

Now for the challenge effect of Tier III the introduction of the exceptional skill check. ( this could actually be on all 3 Tiers)

The way the exceptional skill check would work is it'd spawn on the skill check window but wouldn't be close to any part of the good or great skill checks. If you hit it you're instantly granted 10% (might need to be higher depending on the penalty % loss) of the remaining progress in gen progression.

That was the carrot now here's the very big 2 by 4 if you miss though the penalty is just as punishing. (this part is probably to harsh so numbers % will obviously have to drop)

If you fail an exceptional skill check then not only do you get the usual generator explosion it's a very big one as well. You also lose any progress you did to that gen. So if you did 20% of the total gen progress on that gen and you go for broke so to speak you're going to go broke.

You lose that 20% of the gens progress and if you did 90% of the progress and it was at 99% well you just lost 90% of the gens progress and it just went down to 9%..

Now the numbers will of course require tweaking with the penalty being the most obvious one, it could even be tweaked to be you lose 20% of progress you made. But if you blow it up again on the exceptional than it's 40% of the progress you made.

The advantage to this is hex Ruin is no longer a perk and is a normal perk now instead of a feast or famine and this will slow down gen rushing to an extent. Now if you combine this with say new objectives for survivors such as gas and parts it really opens up the game as well.

You could even add in a new perk that helps survivors once the new objectives are in that'd help with say finding parts or gas and or working on gens.

    That sounds to powerful.
At least the last part. I would be ok with a timed ruin effect as you described tho.

This game was never intended to be played using voice com. It's giving those survivors an unfair advantage over other survivors that don't use it.

True but it's been here for a long time and the devs are trying to address it by buffing solo up to that level and then buffing killers.

I understand that it's fun to play with your friends and that you get good laughs while doing so. That's why I think voice com should be a part of the game and that it should then be balanced around it.

That won't work until they get dedicated servers since p2p combined with 1 crappy internet or Console makes it unviable.

People often forget that everyone who's playing is a human. Who also wants to have fun. Not get bullied by swf groups that hook farm or bully the killer.

The same is true for survivors then, who wants to get bullied by an experienced killer that intentionally depips to terrorize newbs.

You also have to remember that killers like to bully survivors and get mad when they get outplayed by a team even if it's not swf then turn around and say it was due to swf. The group could be 2 solos and 2 swf and yet it's swf 4 man ds/flashlight etc.

I'm still searching for those killer bullies. I've been playing survivor for the best part of the last 3 months now. And I've not found them.

The depiping has been a problem on both sides and the devs introduced the noob ranks. Maybe they'll do something more about it in the future.

  • I would give it a flat 50% bonus.
For example, if a survivor equips Botany Knowledge + Prove Thyself + Self Care, he should be able to heal with normal heal speed or even slightly faster than normal. Without getting to the ridiculous heal speeds SC had during the beta.

The killer circle jerk is real to sue one of the usual killer main insults when a bunch of survivors post something they don't like.

But in all seriousness they're not that Ultra Rare given how once you each P3 they pop in your bloodweb like candy.

Throw in Black Wards galore and it's easy to see why people will dc when they face the same Huntress with the same isnta gib constantly.

I faced one I didn't quit btw Huntress 6 straight games Iridescent and Bag with Black Ward build. I asked post game and they had 19 more sitting in their bank inventory.

That was before spending any bp on anymore and they were averaging before BBQ 19k or better per match but with BBQ and offering around 60k+.

The Clown has his Ultra Rare which is a lot more rare but he has to actually hit you with the bottle or dead center you and still melee you.

Myers still has to stalk you and or have his Ultra Rares for permanent downs.

Then combine that with the really good Huntresses and it's game over within a few minutes, especially with the wide hitboxes again.

You are talking about ultra rares. Those HAVE to be game changing powerful. Just like insta heals. Or the original BNP.

Also, a huntress that ends a game quickly, will barely get any points.

Team points while being hooked. That's a tough one.  Maybe points when a gen is completed where that survivor repaired 25%.

To be clear, I don't mean "hanging around on the hook", I mean if you feel like you've had a great game and deserve you're share of the winnings you could not disconnect immediately upon being sacrificed and continue to earn some points. The idea being, you're sacrifice and contributions prior to being sacrificed contributed to the greater good and should thusly be rewarded.

Although, continuing to earn team points while being hooked would keep people from sacrificing themselves when they don't feel like their teammates are coming, and wouldn't make the game feel like such a ######### loss if they're hooked in a bad spot right away.

I have no idea how to balance that from sandbaggers or leaches.

By changing the struggle phase to require skill checks instead of spamming space.
If you hit a great skill check, you get some additional seconds on the hook. If you fail it, you instantly die.

And if they get multiple skill checks in a row, given that good Survivors playing on non-potato PCs can hit great skill checks on a fairly consistent basis, they'll just be unkillable.

They would have to adapt the bonus seconds. Not instantly get 10 seconds or something. More like 1-3 seconds. Not unkillable.

I don't understand why they do that to be honest. If you don't like going against that build just accept your death and let them get the achievement. It would make it where you wouldn't see that build because it sucks for points for the killer. They must take great pleasure in making people waste 2 ultra rare addons at a time.

Because there is no apparent punishment for disconnecting.

  • How about: the gen remains completely silent as long as you work on it?

Are the community manager and or devs reading this and are aware of the state of the game?
As I understand it, without killers no game, because killers are hosting the game.
What needs to be done, that killers want to play against SWF?
All what I am reading support strongly to implement voice so the game can officially change for the better or acknowledge the problem.
I think the majority of the killers would feel better, if there is an official statement that SWF using voice is cheating but their hands are bound to do something against it and they have no intend to find a solution.
If that is the state of the game the killers can accept this and decide to play with it or, like one of the devs stated, play another game like ciV.

With such a statement they would shut down any further discussion of that topic and we as a community could move on and focus on other stuff.

    @not_Queen @Patricia now they are

  • @Tsulan & @MegaWaffle I'd be curious to see a system where survivors earn BP as a team. A survivor who is dead, is awarded the "teams points" when they either A) disconnect from the game, or B) the game is completed while they're hanging around. But this would encourage people to play more as a team, and have a clearer objective (get some survivors, do gens, etc), and not EVERYONE will try to go for the unhook. There is a benefit to helping the OTHER survivors survive.

I'd also like the idea of giving the killer a portion of those points too, but I'm not sure how that would work.

DC bonus could work based on the points that survivor had when he disconnected.

Team points while being hooked. That's a tough one.  Maybe points when a gen is completed where that survivor repaired 25%.
  • @MegaWaffle said:

I would like to see a re balance of BP because so many times I'll do 3-5 gens completely solo but because the killer was busy chasing others and not me I end up with 5-10k less BP then everyone else. Even if I'm the only escaping survivor.

I think they should remove the point limit per category. It made sense, when the ranking was still based on points. But now?
The points for completing a gen should be somewhere like the ones for completing in coop.

  • @dadderholt said:
So it's ok if killer dodges but not ok for survivors to?

    YES! Remember, it´s a 4vs1 situation.

We had this situation with MLGA. Where survivors put killers on a "avoid" list, for stupid things like "plays Freddy". Lobbies on both sides increased to a point where the devs had to pull the plug and take MLGA from the whitelist.

I can see your point. Swf is important. I will not deny it's importance, the use of 3rd party chats, etc.

However killers and survivors are both important.

I'm wondering what will last longer? Swf teams virtually cheating or killers getting nothing done because the swf teams?
One side is going to get fed up, quit, and kill the game.

I´m on your side. But SWF is not going anywhere. Devs will probably never introduce voice chat, because of the reasons the others posted. Perks would become useless, etc.

Regarding the fed up and quit thing, many long time killers have left out of frustration. But the game is literally every month on sale. So new killers take their place.

Because it goes against the spirit of the game. It's purposefully anti-social
You're not supposed to be able to tell someone across the map that you see the killer, or what you're doing in general.

It creates a level of coordination that really hurts the killer side of things, too.

It's part of why people have a problem with survive with friends. As it is, people use 3rd party voice chat.

That's exactly why there is a need to make this issue offical.
SWF with voice com is not going away. There will never be actions against this style of play.
I am fully aware that SWF with voice was never intended and neither do I like this part of the game and in my eyes this is borderline cheating. But it got white-listed by the devs and so a part of the game.
I wish there would be an other option.

If they officially add it as an in game option it will make it super easy for even random groups to communicate, and that would basically be the nail in the coffin for this game.

Killers are players, and players don't want to get stomped constantly by well coordinated teams.
It's practically cheating and no one wants to go against that over the long term.
There is basically nothing in it for the killer to deal with being steamrolled like that, and adding vooce comms as part of the game would just make it worse.

At least as it is now, killers have some chance of running into randoms, or a team that can't communicate because of the extra trouble people have to go through to set up voice comms outside the game.

As of now, there are only 30% or less players that don't use external voice com.
Introduce it officially and balance the game around it.
  • No thanks, one reason why I chose DBD over Friday the 13th was because there was no voice chat for solo queuers, and you know that if there was a general voice chat implemented and one survivor chose to not use it, that survivor would get sandbagged by the others.

Not to mention the annoyance of little kids shouting abuse through the microphones

    R6 has a mute option.
