Killer is doing his objective as the survivor does.
As long as survivors camp and tunnel a gen that is nearly finished, the killer can do the same.

Wait so now survivors are camping a gen instead of gen rushing? The killer has a choice to leave the camped person.

The survivor has to stay on that gen to finish it or get chased by the killer coming near it or to save that person. If there's a Devour hope up or the gates are powered.

There's a huge difference where 1 has a choice while the other in order to complete their objective has to stay and focus that 1 thing down.

When a killer moves around they can freely decide where they want to go in order to do their objectives and can roam the map taking a direct route to a gen.

The survivor can't always go the most direct route,e specially if it's directly in the open.

Imagine for a second, you are a survivor and do a gen up to 90%. Killer comes and searches around that area for you. But he doesn't find you.
Do you go for another, unrepaired gen or will you wait until the killer leaves, so you can finish the gen?

Yes it is but if the rest of the team make too many mistakes you are done for.  Like it or not being a survivor means playing a team based game.
If the others play bad, but you play good, you might not escape. But get enough points to pip.
  • People demanding more time to heal are unreasonable. Some perks are meant to be supportive perks, and hence, not mainstream. Sloppy butcher is already doing its job and is good as it is right now. If something needs to change, it's Tinkerer since its only 'exceptionally good' on Billy boys, but then again, I wouldn't go make threads asking them to change it, because there are players who prefer to play with that perk.

So I suppose you use Prove Thyself as survivor.

So why do Survivors complain about Killers camping their objective when they themselves also camp their objective?

I'm surprised you of all people would try that logical fallacy.

    @Tsulan said:

So killers are supposed to just stand around twiddling their thumbs then and wait patiently for the survivors to unhook and leave? That or survivors want them to count to 100 before even coming back to the hook.

    This goes both ways. ;)

Well that makes 2 logical fallacies there and no it doesn't work both ways since killers are trying to find survivors and they're trying to get out.

Their objective is to do gens the fastest way possible so in fact they can't camp since they're actually working towards that end goal.

When a killer sits there and cmaps and lets the other 3 survivors do gens and get out they're not working towards that goal.

If they're supposed to sacrifice all 4 survivors but only get 1 because they want to camp the Entity gives a message post game that says IT'S DISPLEASED.

Killer is doing his objective as the survivor does.
As long as survivors camp and tunnel a gen that is nearly finished, the killer can do the same.

No, it´s not. It´s like Fire Up. The slight time bonus is not worth wasting a perkslot for.

Or is Prove Thyself suddenly meta?

I have caught many players with Nurses calling, Sloppy Butcher, Thanatophobia together. You have every right to differ, but it's still the best on killers like Freddy, Nurse, and even Trapper with his ultra-rare addon.

The one perk that is carrying your build is Nurse Calling. Sloppy Butcher and Thanatophobia are worthless. Hell, even Coulthrophobia is worthless in it´s current state, because no red rank survivor would heal inside the terror radius of the killer. Because Nurse Calling exists.

I am not aware, which platform you play on. But on PS4, some survivors at rank 1 are even worse than rank 20s. With Freddy, it forces them to heal in my TR, since I can see their aura outside of it. Sloppy Butcher slows down the heal, which gives me a better chances to get them before they fully heal. We are different people, our playstyles differ, too. I love sloppy butcher, and I am really impressed with the buff. It gives a different dimension to this kind of playstyle.

Playing on PC. I played Freddy from from rank 12 to rank 1. The Sloppy Butcher is useless in that situation. Since the dreamworld already applies a heavy debuff on survivor actions. Try playing him without that perk. Nurse Calling is good on him.

Oh and Freddy isn´t exactly a top tier killer.

  • Yes, they really should ban people who take the game hostage.
They should introduce the crows after the gate has been opened, that appear even if the survivor is moving.

  • @Sarief said:
Sloppy is not as good as ruin in the role if game stopper.
It has few scenarios where it is good:
    1) tracking with bloodhound
    2) slugging. healing 15% under mangled is not instant anymore and you can catch someone by surprise.
    3) nc with small TR killer (Myers, wraith, nurse, hag, doc, pig)
    4) someone in the hook and you want to make it not safe. Hitting someone will result in 30 seconds heal with 45 being hook stage. Makes at least two survivors busy.

And that's about it. Combination with thana makes those scenarios a little bit scarier, but not much.

    Thanatophobia needs a buff, too.

I disagree coulrophobia is a strong perk and with your logic you just used it’s like saying nurses calling is worthless too because survivors know that you can’t heal in the terror radius , everything has a counter people try to act like killers should have zero counters and should be able to eat every pallet in the map without slowing down even a little and that’s fine with them as long as we keep trying to invent bullshit ways to get kills even though majority of us don’t have a problem doing so NC isn´t worthless, because killers get a glimpse of healing survivors, once they come into range. Survivors usually stop healing once they hear the heartbeat. Coulrophobia only works inside the terror radius, and even gives the survivors a nice warning sign that they are in range. The warning sign appears before survivors can hear the audible heartbeat.

I guess that’s all on how you use it because I couple those perks together anytime I run nurses calling for maximum effect

On what rank do you play?

Well I’m at 6 now and no they don’t keep healing that’s not what I’m saying lol I’m saying it’s effective by not letting them fully heal because chances are you can get in range to get a glimpse and force them to keep trying to move to finish healing

You are gimping your own build with Sloppy Butcher. Survivors get a notification before they hear the heartbeat. You´ll miss more survivors if you take Sloppy Butcher.

I don’t take sloppy butcher I said coulrophobia and NC together

Definitely not a bad perk anyways.

5 seconds is not quite good. You spend 5 seconds cleaning your weapon after each hit.
Why do survivors have perks that double the speed of healing or sabotaging, but killers get a 5 second debuff at max? Not worth a perk slot at all. It´s ONLY ok to use it as Wraith with the blood seing addon.

It's really quite good any reduced terror radius killer Myers, Spirit, Hag with Nurses. Also on huntress, billy, LF it transfers to their killers power.

Quite a good perk that punishes survivors who aren't afraid of the killer.

If the discussed heal time change with mangled nerf goes through I'd rethink it though.

To be a good perk (this also applies to thanatophobia and coulrophobia), the heal slowdown should be way higher. Survivors got perks that double their heal speed. No one bothers taking a perk that reduces their heal time by 5 seconds. Why should killers take a perk that increases that heal time by 5 seconds? That´s suboptimal. A killer already has a really tight time frame. A perk should really make a difference.

As survivor you make a mistake and it´s only yours. Leave the team out of this.

So you keep calling my biased, ignore my questions, but still say that you want to "discuss".

    Lets break down this mess shall we;

I´m not sure if you fail to see the irony, when you call me biased. BUT i´m willing to give you the benefit of the doubt.

Well, here I am, saying totems need changes, and here you are, saying

"buff buff buff buff buff buff buff"
"Why should NOED have a counter"

Of course i´m asking for Hex Perk buffs, since they are underwhelming.

Why shouldn't NOED have a counter, if the survs have done all gens and all totems why should the map crap out a free totem and let NOED spawn anyway.

And where did i say, that i want NOED to spawn, once all totems are cleansed? I never claimed that.

Once again, no risk (in this scenario) you seem to have an issue understanding risk + reward.

Survivors have no risk+reward perks at all. NONE
Only killer have them and the reward is mediocre at best.

NOED is a perkslot that´s useless for the whole match and only gets effective at the endgame.

Yes, and it's useful at end game when - majority of pallets are broken, people have been hooked, there's only two places survivors can go, and they're both timed gates.

There are 3 places. Or does our beloved hatch suddenly not count anymore?

Would survivors take SC if it had only 1 heal or when it would only work after all gens have been powered?

This is becoming a habit, talking about hexes and suddenly it's about survivor perks? Get real.

You didn´t answer the question. I presented you a meta perk that would take a serious hit IF the devs would apply the same standards for survivors as for killers, and you ignore it, because it´s unconvenient.

Would they take DS if it would only work after the gates have been powered? Be honest. Would YOU equip them?

Well, DS is getting nerfed, and I never run it anyway so not really sure what point you're making here? Again, back to talking about survivor perks which are a completely separate conversation.

Until the nerf is live, i have every right to talk about DS. Because things that might come, also tend to suddenly vanish from the to do list.

I think you fail to understand a single thing; I HAVE NO ISSUE WITH NOED. However, the comment I was replying to wants NOED to spawn regardless, so even if all totems are cleansed he wants it to spawn anyway, LOL.

Then your answer should aim at the OP and not me. sigh

Hex Perks in general need a bit of a rework. In some instances, the notice comes too soon, like why am I being told there is Huntress' Lullaby BEFORE someone's been hooked?

The notification comes, because it applies the 5% for failed skill checks.
The whole notification system require a rework. I´m ok if they inform survivors of all the perks that affect them on noob ranks. But on high ranks? Survivors with 100+ hours notice when something affects their gameplay. They don´t need a big red warning sign, telling them that there is something wrong.

Destroy the totem just like any other Hex perk

So, while the survivors are supposed to escape, you want them to have to run back into the match, find a totem they don't know has spawned & destroy it so they can safely open a gate?

I've seen normal NOED turn a 0K match into a 4K match. It absolutely should have a counter, it shouldn't be a "lets randomly spawn a totem in the map once all the generators are done" sounds absurd.

Why should it have a counter? There are no counters for survivor perks either.
Killer should be in the power role, not the survivors. Also, the match isn´t over until you see the point screen.

Oh dear - every time you hook a survivor their perks aren't being used, every time you kill a survivor their perks are out of the game.

Literally the killers in this thread - "Why shouldn't I get free kills at the end of the game after the survivors have completed their objective".

It's a perk that instantly downs survivors at end game, after they've finished their objective, you shouldn't able to freely get a 4K at end game because a magical totem spawns out in the map, it's the same argument for DS, the killer has done the work, why should they be given a free get off the shoulder for free card, they shouldn't have it.

    Simple.

What free killer? What are you talking about? Do all survivors suddenly fall to the ground once NOED activates? The killer still has to find, chase, hit and hook them. NOED only halfes the amount of hits the killer requires to down them. Nothing more.
If there are 4 survivors left, when the gates are powered, then it means 1 of 3 things:

    • the killer is terrible (in that case, the survivors shouldn´t have a problem)
    • the survivors gen rushed (in this case they finally get some action, instead of boring "hold m1 untill you fall asleep")
    • the killer prepared for the endgame and has a specific build (killer sacrificed perk slots, so he could be efficient at the endgame. Survivors had a chance to gain BPs during the rest of the match, they shouldn´t be salty for not getting the last 5000 points)

Do you read anything past the first couple of comments? He's literally talking about a RANDOM totem spawning AFTER the gens are done, so despite all totems being cleansed, NOED still activates.

This is absurd, the killer KNOWS he will get NOED regardless of what the survivors have done and simply needs to camp gates, as this totem spawns AFTER the gens are done this would require survivor to find out he has it, therefore he has his first down.

Like, i don't understand, you're clearly incredibly biased, I'm trying to have a discussion about buffing totems but all you can think about is how fun it would be to have an unavoidable noed spawn, utterly ridiculous.

I´m not sure if you fail to see the irony, when you call me biased. BUT i´m willing to give you the benefit of the doubt.

Those seconds add up real fast.
If you always successfully end chases and be able to hook everyone twice, you add a very nice 40 seconds for them to waste healing.

This sentence is so ludicrous is broke my brain. I literally had to walk away from the keyboard for a moment to process it. I was like "It can add 40 seconds to healing?" That sounds pretty good! Till you consider he meant 40 seconds of healing spread across 4 survivors and an entire game. So in terms of game slow down, if we assume an average game is around 15 minutes, you've delayed the game but 1/2 of a percent. Yup, take 1 percent and now divide it by 2. That's how much time you've made them "waste".

I never looked at Sloppy Butcher for the mangled effect, however. It was just too inconsequential. What makes it really good is for tracking. That extra bleeding is really nice. So the perk isn't worthless it's just preferential(some people may not care for the bleeding) and to exaggerate the impact of the mangled effect is...wow. I just really don't even know what to say.

Yes, the 40 second slowdown is only IF the killer loses survivors 8 times. Which, isn´t something one should do in the first place.

Sloppy Butcher is really good. You need to use it on the right killer, with the right perk sets.

No, it´s not. It´s like Fire Up. The slight time bonus is not worth wasting a perkslot for.
Or is Prove Thyself suddenly meta?

  • Its nice to see that despite different opinions on balance we have one thing in common that we all hate.

    Obnoxious Twitch snowflakes.
I think it's not about being a twitch streamer, but about the false hostage claims.
Those are serious accusations, and no one should make or take them lightly.
  • Why is it ok for killers, when they get perks that add 5 seconds to something (hitting + wiping takes 5 seconds). While survivors get perks that completely skip something or half the time requirement?

Survivors are the power role and killers are under constant time pressure.
When killers feel gratitude for getting 40 seconds more time from a perk, then there is something terribly wrong with this game.
  • SenzuDuck said:

Not all survivors take in items, which means if that happens - you'd have to drudge through ruin the entire match because you can't cleanse it, also killers would just run NOED if they see people ready up withot the required item knowing that RNG is the only way to cleanse it - this is a bad idea.

As for the "doubling" cleanse time - I don't mine them being a little longer, however double the time + TOTH would make cleansing a totem absolutely impossible, and with something like Devour Hope + Ruin it would be impossible to do.

Totems need changing, but these changes seem incredibly strong for perks that are supposed to be risk & reward. It makes it almost all reward with the right build.

Survivors can effectively eliminate a killers perk. That SHOULD be hard. Killers can't just eliminate a survivor perk.

Hex perks are supposed to be high risk, high reward. But most of them are high risk, low reward.

My proposal was always to turn hex perks into normal perks. Since they are not powerful enough to justify being hex perks.

But it doesn't look like the devs want to reverse a bad mechanic.

If we are going to keep the hex perks, make them more powerful and punish the survivor with a debuff. Maybe let him lose a random perk too.

BBQ needs the aura reading in order to give killers an incentive to leave the hook. Take that away and i guarantee you, that camping will go back to old levels.
It´s also easier to get WGLF stacks than BBQ stacks. Since BBQ needs a unhooked survivor for each stack. WGLF just requires you to get hit near a injured survivor.

So you want to get another aura reading perk for survivors, because Kindred, Empathy, Bond, Alert, Dark Sense, Object of Obsession, Premonition and Spine Chill are not enough...

I agree tho, that we need more perks, addons and items that serve the sole purpose to gain more BP.
I had a reverse Distressing in mind, that reduces the terror radius perception for the survivor who has the perk equipped. Something that gimps the survivor for more BPs.

All BP bonus perks/addons/items should give the bonus points post trial.

If a Killer wants to camp they're going to camp.

BBQ has nothing to do with it.

Anyone that says its easier to get WGLF stacks than BBQ stacks is just a biased Killer main that plays Survivor rarely.

    You are kidding, right?

If a killer wants to camp, then there are better perk choices than BBQ.
But BBQ gives non camping killers an incentive to leave. Of course, if all survivors hide nearby or behind a gen, then it will look for the killer, like everyone is nearby. Which will give the killer a reason to search the area. What survivors see as camping.

I play both killer and survivor on high ranks. And getting 4 stacks on BBQ is the equivalent of soloing 4 gens.
Getting 4 stacks of WGLF is: get hit while the killer carries someone, unhook, get hit during unhooking, getting hit again near the injured survivor (downed). All this can be done in 1 minute.

Everyone who left rank 20 as survivor knows that.

Honestly, i wouldnt stay in a match for an hour.
If that happened to me most probably would have enough bps to pip already, meaning that i would just let the killer kill me. How? Just by doing a gen and let the killer grab me, pointing the hook, bleeding out, etc...
If i was the killer i would down and kill the last survivors, yes, but what u said doesn't happen often anyway and most certainly wouldnt come to the forums to complain about it.

Exactly. That´s why i said, that they held the game as much hostage as the killer. Someone who tries to lure the killer to a loop spot, so the others can do peacefully gens, Can´t blame the killer if he doesn´t fall for this obvious trap.

nope, not deleting it. don't care. There are many other twitch streamers who have the exact or similar VODS and so I guess I will just be like them and have it out there for everyone to see. Big whoop.

But, I said what I wanted to say so no need to reply to people who keep coming back to just say stuff because I don't respond. Either this post will get closed by a mod or something, which I don't care if it does because as i said, I said what I wanted to say.

Kudos for not deleting it. Not many people would do the same thing. At the same time, it was quite clear you didn't just come here to complain. You expected people to rally behind you, and I don't see what lying about it is supposed to accomplish.

I hope she didn´t come here for this. Because that would be actually starting a witchhunt. Which IS bannable.

  • I assume it has something to do with the unwillingness of people to play on the PTB if theres nothing in for them. Just look at the last PTBs, survivors barely played them.

Having a different client (so you don´t have to alter your normal game directory) would probably help.
Maybe even give some incentives like BPs or shards that transfer over to the normal account.

    Now they reverted it.

That was fixed months ago bro.... and also it was intentional that's why it's a reversion not a fix.

Then why was it mentioned last stream? Bro...

It was fixed in 2.0.0 go check the patch notes.

And this answered my questions exactly where?

I had a match where every survivor thought it would be a good idea to hide in the same locker. Every time I checked the first basement locker, there was a survivor inside. Like 4 times in a single match.

That's where they usually hide, if they're in the basement. Either there or behind the wall. Makes them predictable.

Not me. I'm unpredictable! Sometimes even I don't know what I'm doing.

Set a trap in a random grass spot. Nothing around. No pallets, no obstacles, no objectives. Nothing.
Still caught someone with that trap. He later asked who sets his traps there?!

Most survivor mains don't understand the advantage it gives. It can't be that much of an advantage etc. Voice breaks the game, even when I play swf I don't read loadout, I play as if I was with randoms and tell my homies not to teabag unless they camp. It's a pretty unfair game breaking edge when survivors know what they are doing and are competent. Most survivor mains don't get to rank 8 killer and lower to see the difference in high rank swf and low rank swf. Pretty much facing ed, edd, and eddy or you're facing the expendables lol.

Actually most survivor do understand and most streamers also aren't jerks like a certain PS4 douchebag. But what we can't understand the lengths some killer mains go to blame swf for their poor game play.

This forum is littered with posts claiming it's 4 man swf with 4 ds/sb etc when that's not even remotely close to the truth.

It's hard to take a lot of killer mains seriously when they blame everything that happens on swf, voice, ds, and whatever other excuse they want to use.

We all can agree that swf makes it more difficult and the devs are slowly changing things to make solo on equal footing so killers can be brought to that level.

But looking at the posters here that's never gonna be enough and it's why people use the you want 4k every match and everyone on hook.

When you killer mains sometimes won't even call out your own side for such blatant bs and even defend them when you know it's bs you're just as guilty as they are. You also basically say to everyone that hey we want 4k every match and easy games.

It doesn't matter what the truth is the perception that you're all just a bunch of whiny spoiled entitled children comes through loud and clear. Throw in the usual insults you direct or let get directed unchallenged and you're just as guilty.

The post game screen is getting changed so killer perks can't be seen and as far as voice they could take that out and you'd still whine. You've obviously forgotten Steam chat and speech to text messaging haven't you.

If you think for one instant those people in the dream aren't going to communicate somehow you're mistaken and it's hilarious you quote the devs when you're all so busy bashing them using the same logic.

I've said it before I'm hoping they create a non swf queue and then you have to choose which one you want to play against as killer. Once you choose however YOU'RE STUCK WITH IT, meaning you can't ever leave that solo q no matter what.

Don't like long lobby wait times well tough cow patties, you got what you wanted and now you're stuck with it unless you buy another copy of the game. Because if there's only 30% of the player base that does solo q then you lot have to divy up that 30%.

The nice thing is killers that choose to stay won't be lobby dodging because they won't care, they'll get super fast lobbies. The survivors won't get lobby dodged anymore because they won't have to deal with it anymore.

Lastly this last parts would have to be once they buff killers up to swf level of course but then you'd have to come up with something new to complain about.

I think you went a little overboard with this...

SWF is a problem. Everyone knows this, but the devs struggle to find a way to balance this without making the game unplayable for solo players.
My proposal still is, that they introduce ingame voice chat like most other competitive multiplayer games have and then balance around it. Remove all the stupid indicators that ruin or noed exist (just like it was a little over a year ago). Then buff killers until they are all more or less on Billys power lvl.

Oh and forcing someone to play against swf would be the best way to get rid of our entire killer community.
