  • They fixed the pallets stun, and some people are mad about not being able to get free hits anymore 🙄

But yet they fixed the grab now, yet you don't hear anyone complaining about that...

Anyway they will removed the screams and hit noise, so you guys don't feel "robed" of a hit.

  • Best killer perk :)

In all seriousness it's good in some situations. But I feel it's not worth a spot in my builds. I never really think "oh man if I had self care that could have changed the game".

  • Hmm... I wonder how killer only or mains will feel about having to find survivor totems. Anyway assuming they do get implemented, it's going to give killers another objective to complete. Not survivors, that is assuming it's the same as killer totems.

  • Same as they were pre-event. Status quo is back folks. Killer's ques are almost instant regardless of time.

  • He is easily the second or third best indoor killer.

  • Why do people keep asking for decent perks to get nerfed?

If only they had the same energy to ask for 90% of perks to get buffed. Considering most of the perks are basically useless or niche.

  • @Sadsnacks said:

    Basically hes the new freddy.

Not really since he actually requires some skill, and knowledge. But I agree with you in the fact that I feel he was made for newer players. He is pretty easy to pick up on.

  • Not much we could do honestly. Unless they completely rework his power. Like literally. Which I highly doubt it since the only killer who got somewhat of a rework was freedy. And even he did not get a full remake. He will probably get nerfed in the future, since pretty much everyone agree they him in what he already was good at.

  • I actually did not really enjoy it sadly. I guess I had high hopes.

  • Never heard about him. Till people in this game started to talk about him.

  • I actually like this map for both roles. It's fun for most killer even as trapper since you can trap a lot of choke point. I don't mind the map at all. I certainly prefer this version than the old dark ugly confusing version.

  • Unless you are on a low end pc or a ps4, which can lag at any moment caused by a skill check.

  • It is what it is. Killer has nothing to do. It's not about skill, it's basically why would the killer leave. There is no objective at that point. Anything goes.

  • In my stomach 😋

  • Yeah I talked to a couple of them. I usually get shocked, when I see someone with a globe chatting.

  • 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 You answered your own question. The second choice you wrote on your last statement.

There should always be pallets on the map during the match. If not, your teammates or you, are playing poorly.

You would be surprised how many survivors I seen just drop pallets unnecessarily. Don't expect people to use common sense is I thing I learned real quick...

  • No it's a decent perk. But it's pretty weak since you have to rely on there being pallets in the map. So you might not know if your teammates used them all up. Or you might get a one time use of it. Which is not ideal for and exhaustion perk. Anyhow I have not noticed in increase of survivors using in it, so I highly doubt it.

  • I don't like any of the swamp maps... I prefer any other map than those swamps map. I don't know why.

It really isn’t. Everyone seems to take everything too seriously and trolls A LOT because they’re good enough to get away with it most times. It also sucks because I’m not a higher rank from being really good. I’m higher rank just from playing a lot and now I keep getting matches with all these crazy tryhards.

We need a casual mode. So all the sweats, and tryhard's can stay in the ranked mode. Let the sweaty killers and survivors face each other.

  • Yup being high rank killer/red rank killer is sweaty and it's not fun. Since a lot of the time it's a real sweaty squads. But yet somehow I always end up unintentionally in red ranks 😑

Even being a red rank survivor is not that fun. Since we get placed vs real sweaty killers, or survivors who do gens quickly and sometimes I don't even see the killer.

We need casual mode... I don't want to play sweaty all the time. Most of the time I wanna play a nice relaxing match. And no I don't need to have 4 sacrifice's to have fun. Or I don't need to escape to have fun. It's the just the sweaty playstyles that is unfun.

  • He is pretty good vs decent teams. But I personally don't find him fun to play as. Since you pretty much summed it up. Throw bottles to force survivors to drop pallets in loops, or slow them down in the open.

  • People think he's OP now. I'm pretty sure if they released him in the latest ptb state, people would have lost their mind. Overall I think he is more fair for survivors now. Since he is busted in the open without any cover. But can be countered by high wall tiles. So I guess it's fair for both sides.

You misunderstand. The perk, when it works, is decent. I'm not asking for a nerf. I'm asking for its bugged state to be fixed.

When the perk bugs out, it mutes ALL sounds from the injured survivor, which includes footsteps. They could be running right in front of you, and you can't hear them.

My bad... I'm not gonna lie I did not read your thread, I assumed you were asking for a nerf.

100% agreed on that. Ya there are tons of perks that needs reworked or buffed etc.

Realistically most perks can be used, but they are niche perks, or very situational. Which is why I feel most survivor/killer perks are useless. And that is why most people who are decent at the game tend to run the same perks.

  • What is there to fix? The perk is decent. Why do you folks keep asking for decent, actual usable perks to be nerfed. If anything we should be asking for the 90% of borderline useless perks to get buffed.

  • Yep. Oh well looks like I won't be playing today.

  • If it's near the end of the stage I usually take it as "No one is coming to rescue me".

  • @GGSlushy said:

I think meta perks should be nerfed a little, and alot of other perks should be buffed a little. IMO ther perks that need the most buffs are the niche perks, the ones that are harder to use.

Basically this way there wont be any S tier must use perks, but there also wont be any F tier never use perks. All the perks are gonna be, great, good, or just eh it only works in some builds

Are we talking about survivor or killer perks?

Because would you really want perks such as ruin and exhaustion perks to be nerfed? I think it's better for weak perks to buffed.

  • I would rather them keep DC penalty off. And make it so if a player disconnects they pip down an entire pip regardless of what points they have on the system.

  • @ThiccBudhha said:

People are surprised a survivor favored game made a change that favors a survivor? Lol.

I mean survivors used to get hit through pallets all the time, and windows. So I guess the shoe is on the other foot now.

  • @bibibib8 said:

Its a ######### nightmare my hit get cancel when the survivor drop the pallet and i clearly hit them before the pallet was drop i cant ear any foot step when i get blind. Im starting to think i should use a vpn and go to another server so i can get 200 ping for easy hit

Yeah it happened on the ptb as well, it was stated on the patch notes that hit detection got changed. Oh well I guess now the shoe is on the side of the foot. So now we know how it feels as survivors, when survivors get hit through pallets.

I guess someone else must using your username on steam... 😱

  • PTB trickster was an A with people that knew how to play him. But after the changed from the ptb, he is at a B level.

  • @Tricksters_Wife said:

** LONG READ AHEAD ; SKIP TO TL/DR AT BOTTOM IF UNINTERESTED **

The Trickster buff came today and I'm sure the small amount of Trickster mains including myself leap up with joy ━ however including the same buffs came some unexpected changes I'd like to talk about that I even made a forum account for.

I've played around 5 matches now with the new buffs and took him to his strongest map (Grave of Glenvale) on my first match and noticed that his blade count was reduced to 44 when I spawned in. I didn't think it would be much of a problem until I actually got to playing. I'd like to note that, yes ━ while I am a complete simp for Trickster I also came to love his gameplay despite his glaring weaknesses; and, I'd like to consider myself a decent Trickster player with a decent winrate with him. I've been dedicated to learning him and playing only him since his release just cause he's that much fun to me.

I've been struggling with him a bit. And it's not my gameplay nor have I been going up against survivors who excel at playing against a Trickster. I love the buff to his laceration meter but I think what I've been struggling with is his laceration decay change and the number of knives he now carries.

About the number of knives change...

Before the changes, I could get 2-3 hooks before I needed to reload my knives (sometimes 1-2 if the survivors looped me well and caused me to miss a lot). Now I'm noticing that I need to go to reload between every 1-2 hooks which takes up the time I was supposed to save with the maximum laceration buff that impacts his gameplay more. At least the time it took to down a survivor before benefitted me more because I was mobile and able to control the generators more effectively. Even if I didn't get a down a survivor would take me around the map naturally as they loop to other gens being worked on and indirectly give me gen control. Now that same time I'm stuck reloading with restricted sight and needing to recalculate where the rest of the survivors moved to. Sure it only takes seconds to reload but with a weaker killer like Trickster who already has slower movement speed, it's a bit more interruptive to the gameplay and every second counts if you want to do well with him. Using the add on Bloody Boa helps out a lot but it goes back to the same issue from before of "needing" to use certain add ons to keep up with the speed of gen repairs and his lack of gen control.

    About the laceration decay meter...

I noticed I also struggled with how fast the laceration decay is now especially with indoor maps (we won't even discuss Raccoon City PS ━ expect to get entity displeased when playing that map with Trickster unless you really have an understanding of the map cause you'll be spending more time trying to figure out how to get around and what loops are good for power usage than actually chasing). There are a lot of times where I need to get one more knife to down someone and beforehand I would chase them until I got close enough to land a guaranteed hit. Now, the laceration meter starts going down before I can even catch up around corners; and by the time I reuse my knives to get the meter back up even without missing they're already at another corner. I've noticed a couple of other forum threads talking about this issue and almost every match I played I've had what would've been a secured kill lost because of the quick decay and slow base movement speed. I feel like a 10 second change was too much, and the time before the decay starts should be increased to perhaps 14-18 seconds if anything (was 20 seconds before).

    What can be done?

Since Trickster's release in PTB I stood by the belief, along with many others, that his only problem was the slow base movement speed along with the additional movement speed penalty when using the knives. I think if he had the normal 115% movement speed it would fix a lot of problems he's been having while also still being a killer that required skill to use their power. With someone like Huntress, her 110% makes sense because her hatchets can take down an entire health state. Trickster needs a little more time to take down an entire health state and has more spread than Huntress's hatchets. I think the slowdown when using his blades and Main Event are fine since while using those your skill level and aim will counteract the movement speed penalty and become well balanced (as all things should be). I love the changes to his maximum laceration meter, but the reduction of the knives carried as well as the laceration decay meter made him weaker in areas he was already struggling at before. Survivors breaking line of sight is even more detrimental to his chases and time, while open areas or low loops are a guaranteed down. He was already very strong in open areas/low loops and the changes now only make him stronger in those areas while not fixing his main fundamental problems. He's a lot more of a black and white killer who more heavily depends on the map and survivors playing now rather than a grey area one who can still exceed depending on the player and the amount of practice they have with him.

Overall I think the changes are a great start to getting him to be a better overall killer. I feel like my good aim with him is well rewarded now only needing 6 knives. But I feel like I'm indirectly punished now even more with certain maps with his still slower 110% movement speed.

What do you guys think? Do the other Trickster mains here feel the same way after his changes? I'm still going to keep trying to get used to these changes and seeing if it's a case of not being used to them and continuing to adjust my gameplay to see if it helps :)

TL/DR : The maximum laceration change is great and feel more rewarding for players with good aim/power use timing - The laceration decay meter change makes it a lot harder to chase in indoor maps with corners and breaking line of sight - The knife amount change wastes a lot more time between hooks and his knives should stay at 60 so he can keep up with his already lacking gen control or he should have the default 115% movement speed.

I played with you/ or someone with your username in the PTB. Was that you?

Did I mention Old Legion? I said:

I don't want him becoming current Legion 2.0

Meaning "A useless kit that cannot hinder or down survivors effectively, if at all".

I would not compared updated trickster with current legion. Since new trickster will be able to down pretty quickly, especially out in the open where there is no debris/cover nearby. So I'm pretty sure you mean survivors when you say "fun for both side", since most killers who played the trickster during the ptb loved the changes based on what they said when I played. But yeah he is going to be bused in the open with no cover.

  • @humanbeing1704 said:

Spirit is extremely boring to play

Not really unpopular tbh, a lot of people feel that way. It's a dull power, it's strong but boring.

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

Nerf? Eh maybe just complete kit rework at this point. I don't want him becoming current Legion 2.0 but he needs serious, serious changes from PTB to live if he is ever going to be anything close to healthy and fun for both sides.

To be fair old legion had no counter. Even this buffed trickster has counter, it's not impossible but it's possible to loop him. Now if he gets you in the open, and there is cover nearby... then yeah you will go down vs him. Which is why I think he needs a small cooldown similar to huntress, so he does not keep on throwing knifes after injuring a survivor. So they could a chance to get to cover. But I don't know what they could do to his power, it's going to be too strong or too weak. And from what you guys are saying, they would have to come up with a completely new ability for him. A new power, which I doubt is happening since the only to killer whos SOMEWHAT received a power changes was freedy. And even then it was not much of a completely new power.

  • Called it within the first 2 hours of the ptb being opened, in all seriousness. Read my discussion history. I can already see people posting for him to get nerfed. That is assuming he is released in his updated ptb version, which I don't think they will. I'm pretty sure they adjusted some of the buffs. But lets he is released in his ptb update. I'm already saying it now, he will the most hated ranged killer in the game even more than deathslinger. He might be hated as much as spirit and the twins if he is updated in his ptb state. As a matter of fact a lot players hate him now, despite him being one the weakest killer the game. A killer that I managed to escape 95% of my games when I gone up against him... A lot of people hate him in his weak state.

  • If they all load up around the same time, like instantaneous that could be a sign that they are an SWF. And also if they all have the same name, or a name similar to each other like fza_. Basically if a name suggest they are in a group or clan. And also if they all dress the same it could a sign as well. But other than that it's almost impossible, I also use my instincts if I feel they are an SWF.

  • @Klavatoo said:

I haven't seen hardly any console killers. I have a sneaking suspicion its due to the framerate issues/lack of mouse and keyboard input. 90% of my killers are steam users. Red ranks though mileage may differ.

Yeah I been getting mostly steam killer users in the past couple of weeks. And it's been pretty bad, since for some reason pc steam killers tend to play more sweaty than any other users from different platforms.

Isn't the self heal command disabled while running?

So how in the world do you accidentally self heal mid chase?

It's happened to me when I stopped running in loops waiting to see the next move, or when you I'm about drop a pallet. Mistakes happen at times. But keep in my mind it's only happened to me with med kits.

  • No with survivor only users as long as they play long enough they can learn how counter every killer. The only thing that playing killer would help them is learning what add-ons do and lesser used perks do. But overall survivor only users can perform well vs most killer so long as the teammates are competent. But yeah I would like it if both sides only users would play a little of each side so they can see the struggles of both sides.

  • @Northener1907 said:

If you have time to heal yourself, killer is not tunnelling you lol

It could happened by accident however. Lets say you get unhooked and the killer comes right back to tunnel. You get in a chase and accidently click the healing button, which has happened to me and other people I'm sure. So yeah I don't think healing yourself should deactivate ds, healing other yes.

  • @ringwinning said:

I'm apparently in the minority here, but like the person above me I would rather face Trickster than Huntress.

I just think his daggers are fun to dodge.

Same but they will ignore the part were huntress can make looping useless since most windows and pallets are hits for her. But in all seriousness I doubt they will keep him in his latest ptb trail, since he was oppressive in the open without any cover. And that is the one thing he succeeds in over any other ranged killer, out in the open.

  • @Jago said:

Frame rates issues have forced people to CP off to get fair matches.

Most likely a lot of old gen console users stopped playing altogether. My brother has not played in weeks, as well as my friends who play on console which is most of them since most are still the previous gen.

  • @NoOneKnowsNova said:

Depends what level of skill we're talking about. Lower ranks I'd say Trickster, higher I'd say Nem.

I completely disagree I feel nemesis is killer that was made to be easily learned by new players. With the tricksters you need to have a lot of killer expereince, especially if you are going against people who know basic looping.

  • @DwarvenTavern said:

Well.. the frame rate issues are still a thing

Could be a factor. I tried the game out on my ps4 pro a couple of weeks ago. And It's bad, it reminds me of fallout new vegas on my ps3. And that was a single player, now imagine an online game were a freeze could cost you a down, or an escape. I thought people were exaggerating, but once I saw it with my own on eyes I believed it.

  • Tinker is an A at best since it won't work with killers such as huntress. If anything ruin is S tier since it works with any killer.

  • Killer since it's one vs four.

1 … 7 8 9 10 11 … 23
