  • Maybe they have plunders? A lot people are still the working on the chest challenge so that could explain that.

The game code (i think) and the wiki calls it a lullaby because it works the same and it sounds at the same volume of his normal terror radius at 24 meters, at least ingame, it's still a pretty clear giveaway of your location.

Well I don't view it as a lullaby since I thinks that more of a human humming in a musical way. So huntress yes it's a lullaby, trickster it sounds more like a microphone getting connected. And honestly unless you are paying attention you won't notice it. A lot of people don't even notice it based of when I used to play him.

  • @tippy2k2 said:

I don't know if something has changed but I would agree. I'm stomping survivors lately using killers who generally are not survivor stompers (namely The Plague as I try to do that stupid Corrupt Purge Archive Challenge).

They're not great at getting chased, they hide like scared bunnies, they do a bad job of teamwork; basically I feel like I've been getting (at least) one potato per match. It's been in the last two weeks or so. I don't know if it's a string of good(?) luck for me or if something has happened to ranking behind the scenes or what might be going on. Tis very strange indeed...

Yeah I'm glad people are noticing red rank survivors are in the worst state that I have ever noticed. Don't get me wrong, I was never escaping in the past all the time. But lately I find myself losing more as a survivor. It's probably the new RDE fans that ranked up quickly I'm assuming.

  • @TAG said:

Is this referring to all the voice clips he has when he laughs and hums and stuff, or is it something else?

It's like the humming noise that you hear when someone is connecting a microphone. Or when you connect speakers that what it sounds like. So it's not a lullaby per say. It's not really noticeable unless you got loud speakers or a loud headset.

  • This is what they need to attract more killer players. Think about it a co-op asymmetrical game it's never been done before. It would so fun to play with another friend as killer. Just think about it. If they added this I would definitely play more killer than survivor.

  • @EvilJoshy said:

It's pretty hard to recognize skill when they let everyone in.

I mean what I'm noticing is that I would get a lot more escapes before, but lately I'm losing matches more often. And to simple mistakes that survivors are making more than in the past. Like survivors unhooking front of the killer, just simple mistakes that I would not see as much in the past. I think red ranks is more muddied than it has ever been. But I thinks it's a new wave of played that ranked up quickly which could explain it.

  • @Shroompy said:

Survivors have always been ranking too quickly since the last change to rank reset. Also its probably going to get a lot worst in the next couple of games since the end of a season is when the ACTUAL potatoes reach red ranks

I think they arrived already. The new RE fans which is great. But I'm shocked they managed to rank up this quickly.

  • Yeah they reduced the number of pallets lately, probably since people were complaining. It's fine in most maps that have a lot of strong tiles, but it's horrible in certain maps especially in shelter woods. But then again this proves my point this is the easiest time in history that killers have had in DBD, not saying it's fair, but it's not like how it was before which was heavily survivor sided. Decent killers that are mid to high level killers will win a lot now. Unless the killer one of the weak killers they should win 5 out out 10 times, now some teams are too good. And you won't win but vs most average DBD solo teams killers should win more often than not.

Being good at survivor is takes seriosly time. You can learn basic mechanics with 100 hours but being really good survivor will takes longer time. Maybe 500 hours. I am also killer main but i am playing as survivor too. I think i have 800 - 1000 hours as survivor. But still sometimes i am doing stupid mistakes.

Does not matter you can the best survivor in the world. But at the end of the day the power comes from the teammates, horrible teammates equals a lost.

  • She has the most annoying sounds out any survivor.

  • Honestly I kind of have to agree out of all the time I played this game, I feel killers have the easiest now. Killer used to be way weak, but now for most mid range killers it feels like they can handle most teams. Now the bottom weakest killers they will struggle but most killers can perform decent enough vs most teams.

  • Wraiths and huntresses sadly, one of the most annoying killer the other that has hitboxes that can hit a meter away.

I want buffs, I made 2-3 post about what i'D change for him, 1 was a whole basekit/add-on rework and another was melodious murder and the autograph being basekit (the second one by default would make him extremely better)

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/246075/trickster-2-0-the-improved-stronger-and-better-trickster

    that's my trickster 2.0

Why the change of heart all of sudden?

I mean yeah you're a decent trickster but I'm pretty sure you're good with any killer that you put your hands on. And could have gotten the same results with any other killer vs those survivors.

I've found that in general (I'm not referring to any of you here, I'm not specifying anybody at all because I don't remember names), killer mains feel protective of the Wraith because he was allegedly bottom of the barrel terrible before this recent buff, even though they also argue that the buff was hardly anything and that the Wraith is now only "barely B or C tier", etc. It's a bit hyperbolic.

That said, a lot of survivor mains (including myself) have sometimes been hyperbolic about how godlike the Wraith feels now. I've laid out my reasons for why the character is cheap (I mean it speaks for itself really, the character is super fast, almost completely invisible, all but silent, no longer has to use the bell which was the one warning you had to get up and run, and can lunge super fast from cloaking to hit you). It all seems like a bit much. People make similar arguments against the Spirit constantly and there's often little or no argument. But I guess the Wraith was dismissed by a large portion of the community once better killers came along, and not many people want to admit that now that he's been buffed, he's incredibly cheap.

Others can agree with me and that's fine, I'm not changing my mind and I don't aim to change anyone else's. I write this post not to argue, but to encourage you not to. The people who think that Wraith is fine or poor will continue to think so, and that's their prerogative. You and I can think differently, which is our prerogative. There's support on both sides so don't take it personally.

Wraith is soooooo annoying now. I never found wraith weak before his previous buff, but now he is probably the 2 most annoying killer to go up against as survivor. And especially in map with a low number of widows or pallets.

  • Don't see a use Dead hard is the most over rated perk for survivors. I think sprint burst is a more effective perk than DH since when you get near a gen and a survivor sprint burst away. But I think NOED is not comparable since DH won't guarantee you an escape, while NOED will more often than not guarantee bad killers a down. I even seen a NOED killers get a 4k while they only get 1 hook the whole game to a 4k. But NOED rewards bad killers more often than not meaning campers and killers that are not good in general.

  • I honestly feel he is around pyramid head level. But he could be the second best killer in indoor maps honestly. With the zombies in indoor map with a limited space they would often trap hallways in indoor maps when I played the PTB.

  • I'm pretty sure the stats show his kill rate is at a 2 to 3 down range. But yeah he needs a buff maybe make brown bag base kit, give him a 30 second speed boost when a survivor gets trapped similar to bloodlust which works the same way you hit or pick up the survivor. But yeah when I play him I can get downs even vs rank 1 sweat users.

HD coming whenever youtube will want it.

I still believe he is the weakest killer unless you have 1000s of hours into killer specifically. Meaning as you said 99% of killer users won't have a good time vs survivors with decent looping abilities.

  • Standard equals casual. Some killers perform great without slowdowns vs the majority of DBD players. Like I said unless you are using the weakest killers in this game like trickster and trapper. Than yeah those killers it's almost a must to run a slowdown. But for most killers so long as the player has a decent knowledge of how to play the killer they can do well without any slowdowns. Since most killer start without slowdowns anyway. The reason I'm talking about balancing is because this game will never be balanced it will always be survivor sided since it's 4 brains vs 1, well allegedly even thought at times it does not feel like that. And some killers don't need more slowdowns, because if you are 2000 hour spirit running ruin and undying, and tinker and pop goes the weasel like come on that just over doing it. Like all they need to do is buff the real weak killers to bring them to a level were can have a chance vs most teams. And yea this is mostly a high rank issue because most of the player base does not care about slowdowns other than people who are not casuals.

  • Worst killer perk in the game. Rewards players who have no skill, or camp. Should be a perk that only activates once the endgame collapse begins. And this is coming from someone who plays both roles, so I'm not a one sided person.

Scott addresses this a little bit in his video when he talks about how even against casuals if you're on a map like The Game and they have half a brain to stay spread out, use the resources provided on that map (of which there are many) you're going to still not have the easiest time if you don't have a single slowdown perk in your build, because due to how map RNG works, how certain maps are laid out, player skill becomes less of a factor depending.

I don't think Scott is wrong here, as far as killer perks go slowdown perks and / or perks that give you accurate information to apply pressure in the right places to slow down the game (AKA Surveillance, Discordance, etc.) are some of the most powerful perks killers have access to.

That being said Scott doesn't really answer his own question / proposed problem. It's a short video and it's left fairly open ended for people to continue to discuss, potentially about how to alleviate the issue and how to possibly suggest to combat it.

I think there are a lot of unique ideas out there that can be done, and the way he sets up his concluding thoughts- he makes it seem like it's an almost impossible or insurmountable problem to solve. He could be right, but I'm not completely sure. To me it seems like all that needs to be done, is to make a few changes to the base game, to naturally slow down the pace of the game- give survivors other objectives or incentives or literally anything that isn't flat out extending generator times, and then as the game gets "longer" slowly nerf slowdown perks to compensate.

For example introduce the Trial Warmup, I'm still a strong proponent of this idea and I have no idea why the devs seemingly just dropped the ball after talking about it for a little bit. Introduce the trial warmup, and then say for example nerf ruin by just tweaking some values. And so on and so forth.

It's the exact same methodology that's used to change killers who are too add-on reliant and in those situations, it works. Making an add-on basekit and then reducing the add-ons effectiveness or power itself by tweaking / reducing the values, so that the basekit killer is not left so helpless in a match but the same killer running that add on will get the full benefit that was present before the change.

For example Nemesis, people are talking about his mutation rate and how you need to run mutation rate add-ons over everything else, everything is worthless by comparison. The solution, is to increase his base kit mutation rate so he becomes less reliant on those add-ons and more likely to run other add-ons that might change his gameplay in unique ways, and then nerf the mutation rate add-ons so that everything evens out afterward.

It's the same principle. Make "base-kit" changes to the game to slow things down just a lil bit, and then nerf the "add-ons" (perks) to level everything out.

Just what I'm thinking right now anyway. Scott made it sound like you'd have to overhaul the entire game in order to make it work- not sure if it's all that. Maybe, but it's a give and take, and we won't know for sure if the devs aren't willing to take the first step and introduce things like the Trial Warmup, or anything else for that matter, in a PTB for us to test.

Look I'm sure they wanna keep the game how it is. Since you got to understand only around 15% Of the base according to steam stats survivors have reached rank 10, so think about that means 85% of the players are casuals. And for killer that have reached rank 10 it's only 9%. So my point being they wanna keep the game as easy as possible since I'm pretty sure 90% of the player base is mostly survivor. Which is why they probably don't wanna add any slowdown mechanism to the gens, or any new game format. And honestly I don't blame them since most of the player base is casual. And lets be honest unless you are using the weakest killers maybe like trickster, and legion you can do alright without slowdown perks. Most can at least get a 2k with other killers that are midrange which is what I feel is balance. Don't go around expecting 4k in every game. Now for us non casual I guess this may feel like an issue since in red ranks survivors play more efficient than casuals, but for most of the base they don't.

  • No the game is balanced around casuals which makes 100% sense. Since they are the majority.

  • It's not a lullaby it's more like a humming noise from a loud speaker. But it could barely be noticeable unless you got loud speakers or headphones.

  • Requires to much of an advance playstyle, in high tiles.

Only long walls are safe?, thats a bit of an over statement

Shack is safe, 4 Lanes are safe, C walls are safe Maze tiles are safe, that 4th maze tile is safe, Long walls are safe, Most large structures where you can just run in a circle are safe

and most of these generate in every map so as long as a survivor knows what they are doing they will take forever to down, but heres the thing survivors aren't that good, and neither is trickster, sure while he can eventually get hits at tiles its still no where near as fast as killers who are faster or ignore the tiles altogether

Wow you're speaking so much facts, and this is coming from someone who used to play the the trickster a lot. Heck even last night I went up against a trickster and literally no joke I looped him around a short haystack for 3 gens, why because he keep taking out his knifes and slowly trying to chip my heath away. Now he ended up getting me after all the gens were done but I still got rescued and escaped. But if it was any 115% killer, I would not have been able to loop him around the short haystack for three gens. But either way I don't understand OP point in posting this. Is he trying to brag? or just trying to prove a point that because he beat some low thinking survivors which could have been done with any other killer more quicker. Makes the trickster a B class killer as OP has claimed In the past. Or maybe he wants more people to play the trickster, but what he has to understand to play the trickster decently you have to have 1000s of hours into killer. And most average killer users, not in red ranks don't have 1000s of hours. This killer takes too much effort for not being a great killer, and that is why no one uses him in red ranks either too much effort for a weak killer.

  • Can we all just agree he is the weakest BEGGINER killer. Not the hardest killer to learn, just the weakest killer for average killer users. Meaning your average killer user is going to get destroyed by most survivors. You need to have to have 1000s of hours into killer to make the trickster seem like a decent killer vs average survivors. Lets hope he gets some buffs I think we can all agree on that 😎

  • The perks are pretty weak for killer and survivors. But I'm getting ready to see a bunch of leons running around with flashbangs in live version as in the ptb pretty much every leon was trying was to flashbang you. But I have to say I did try eruption with surge and worked out pretty well since I had set up a 4 gen and I downed someone near the 4 gens, and it did 14% damage to all the gens. But overall the chapter is not that interesting to me, nemesis does play kind of similar to pyramid head, but it feel it's more boring to play him. Since he is a slow paced killer. The map is actually worse than midwich since there is a lot more narrow hallways and is huge. At a first I thought the map was going to be survivor sided since of how big it is. But after playing it I actually think it may be killer sided since it has a a lot of narrow hallways with small rooms. And I found it was actually hard to find gens, now maybe because we don't know the spawn locations yet but the map felt more killer sided after playing in it.

  • The stream or whatever people wanna call it. He has a link to a stream that shows some survivors going up against him in the OP thread. Which they were casual survivors.

First it's a little funny you say this while your name is Trickstaaaaa and just personal experience I've found more success with Trickster although little more then those three.

I named my account this since I wanted to be an advocate for the trickster. Which is why I made this account around the time he was going to be released. But I been playing longer. But I feel based on what I experience it's possible to get downs vs competent survivors but I feel he requires the most effort out of all the killers if the survivors are decent loopers.

so, it'd be perfectly possible to cleanse a totem, do a gen, get in a locker to heal, get a flashbang, head on the killer and then blind them with the flashbang?

Yeah but you have to work on the gen a certain amount of percentage on a gen I forgot how much though, and clean a totem to get healed. But you go into the locker and press E to get the flashbang, and with inter strength it activate by itself. But I could see you would be able to stun the killer with head on. Now flashbang the killer I don't think so since it takes then a firecracker to activate at least it felt to me like it took more time to activate.

  • @WishIcouldmain said:

He's definitely not the strongest but he's definitely not the worst. I'd definitely feel better with Trickster then Myers, Legion, or Trapper.

Have you played him in rank 1???

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2233872#Comment_2233872

So... honestly I would almost argue that Trickster isn't a chase killer.

    Why?

Because like you said, there's a lot of structures that he can't really handle. Shack, Jungle Gyms, even TL walls can give him trouble without some nifty M1 mindgames. Main buildings are kind of hit and miss. What kind of chase centric killer can't handle those? A bad one, that's what.

However, there's some things he does far better than Huntress. Trickster's knives are actually more lethal than Huntress's hatchets are. Seriously, he can churn through Survivor health states far faster than any other ranged killer. I have had a LOT of unsafe unhooks turn into 2 Survivors eating dirt despite BT. It happens very frequently. Similarly, if a good Trickster finds a Survivor in a spot where they don't have easy access to a tile he can't handle... they kinda just die. Also, unlike Huntress, he doesn't have a 40m warning he's coming.

For those reasons, I would honestly say that Trickster isn't chase centric... he's Ambush centric and Territorial. If he's played to those strengths, he gets a lot better than everyone says he is. B tier is pushing it, but he can put in some real work.

I watched the footage it was nothing special. Those survivors were clearly casuals I would gotten the same results if I was playing the trickster. Those survivors had bad movement, they were horrible loopers, and did not not know how to counter play the trickster clearly. If you were going vs me as a survivor If I had decent solo teammates I would win, or I would the be the last person you would get because I know how to loop. But you yourself are admitting he is a weak killer like no other. He only excels in short tiles, and or open areas. If you were to face decent survivors who had decent movement, and knowledge of looping you are almost certainly going to lose the majority of the time. Because he is the second weakest killer that they have released in their entire history. So outside of short tiles, such as jungle gyms and shack he cannot handle it at all it takes to long if the survivor is an okay looper. And the shack could become an infinite vs him if the survivor knows how loop. But even though he a short terror radius some survivors use spine chill and immediately go running to the nearest high wall loop, at least the competent ones. Based on my experience having played every killer, he requires too much effort compared to the other killers he has to be played really sweaty if you wanna get any downs vs decent survivors, those survivors in the footage were not decent by any means. And the more I play him the more I see he is the only killer that I have to hope the survivors don't know how to properly loop.

  • @Orion said:

Just buffs. His core is fine the way it is, it's just too weak right now. Maybe requiring 3-4 hits for each health state?

I think maybe just 4 knifes to injure, and 8 to down someone. So he could have a chance to injure multiple people quicker to add pressure. And reducing his knifes to 50 to make up for that.

  • Lets assume you are serious. How would you ban coms if they are using anything not track able such as discord, or any non intent communication method such as a phone.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2232168#Comment_2232168

After flexing my 2.4k hours (insert cringe emote) maining killer, I can reveal to you the Trickster secrets. I can comfortably say that Trickster suffers from:

    1. Pubstomper syndrome;
    2. Legion syndrome.

Regarding 1), he's one of those killers that when going against bad survivors he thrashes them HARD. Keypoint: seemingly harder than stronger characters on paper. That's why he gives the illusion of having potential.

He doesn't have range limitations (unlike Deathslinger) and doesn't have to double tap survivors too precisely. If they take bad pathing, you sort of wind up your knives and spam until they go down, which will happen very fast.

Go against decent survivors, not even optimal, and they'll make you a 110% m1 killer, or pay dearly for landing every knife. Pick your poison. Sure, you can get them stuck in situations where you slowly chip away at their laceration until they inevitably go down. Keyword: slowly. Too much so.

He's very strong in open areas where he can throw over loops. Sure. But guess what happens in open areas... Yep, survivors with eyes can see him and simply run early to a high wall. Gg.

Unironically, his power is very decent for camping. Even more so because you can often build up main event in those situations, instead of it having to go wasted.

But that's it. There's no hidden secret to Trickster. No shaolin-like 5head combo mindgame prediction. If survivors run straight, you go m2+m1 and they fall down. Easy money. If they know to loop high walls and they don't panic, you're facecamping Bubba's cousin. No amount of brain power or skill will change his strength.

Regarding 2), his power design is inherently flawed. So, even small buffs have the potential to butterfly-effect into busted gameplay.

Take, for example, his best add-on combo in melodius murder plus the can, imho. On paper, they don't seem to do much. Yet, throw'em on and even against good survivors you will eat away at their health states, not proportionally, but exponentially faster than the add-on descriptions would imply.

I'd say it should be 'reasonably' safe to buff his main event (he'll become a hell of a camper). Other buffs to his core power are definity riskier with unforeseen consequences.

Lastly, is he viable? Against your casual survivors when killer queues are instant: ######### yea. In the early ranks up to purple? He's a blast. Against boosted red rank Blendettes? Bring'em on! But against confident survivors, maybe at hours when killer queues are a tad longer, few red rank killers who tend to get matched against the better survivors, then no. Don't walk into those trials expecting him to perform like the killer he's not.

    My 2 cents.

He may be a lost cause. Since he is not popular I don't think he may get a buff. Since as you said his power could become to powerful if it gets buffed. Best thing they could do is make it so the Laceration damage sticks to a certain amount. I hope he gets something, but at this point since no one uses him he may just be ignored.

I did not said he has not counterplay. But he is like Nurse. When you get good with him, most games turning easy mod. That is reason i am saying people will hate him so much.

I gone up against really good blights and I have always felt blight is fair and balanced. I never felt like they got me by some unfair move. Blight is actually fun to go against, unless it's ones of those sweaty ones that wanna slug everyone in one go. The reason people don't like spirt is because you really just have to guess where she is when is phasing. And the reason people don't like freedy is because it seem he has 5 foot arms, it's gets annoying to get hit from what seems like a meter away. And not only that people don't like those two because they have a low skill cap with a high KO rate. And not only that those two are not fun to go against they are some of the most boring killers in this game, unlike blight he is one of the most fun killers to face.

  • No because blight has counter play, and is actually fun to go against. Unlike those two things you are comparing him two.

  • @Frontdoor6 said:

I've said it once, i'll say it another time. Trickster is way too weak

I've tried everything, i've tried different builds, different addons, i've even tried a slow-down build. Nothing has helped it, Survivors just keep on looping around the shack and stuff and i just end up looking like a joke

I have Asperger's, i don't need to be made fun of by survivors because because of a killer that is overdue for another buff and makes the Nurse look like Road-Runner *meep meep*

i know the Devs say they'll look into it at the mid-chapter patch, so until i hear news of good buffs for Trickster, i'm giving up on it

Honestly that's kind of how I feel the more play him. The more I realize he is very survivor dependent, and map dependent. If you against your average survivors yeah you can do good with him, but you can also do it with any other killer quicker and with less effort. Survivors who know how to loop can make it very hard for trickster.

I’m with you. I hear these absurd stories of “he’s good in the right hands” but no one can ever explain why. I’ve also asked people to explain a single situation in which DS doesn’t down faster; no one has ever responded. The killer is worthless and BHVR should be embarrassed that they thought he was fine to release.

Funny thing is even a lot of these people that have 1000s of hours, on twitch will struggle with him. Compared if you use any basic other so called weak killer. I seen some real good killer only users struggle vs basic loopers, were as they use other killers they won't even have put in the effort. And when they win it's usually vs survivors who are more play more basic at the game.

All depends on your definitions. Camping, Tunneling, Slugging are all perfectly valid strategies (read up to my auto haven map post). I like playing in whatever way gets me the "win" and makes me feel that I outplayed the survivors. You can say camping isn't outplaying..But if I hook you in a tactical spot where I can regress a gen that's very needed. Or can defend a hook and 4 gens. That's outplaying to me.

If you like chases. Trickster may not be for you gameplay wise. He's highly effective as more of a "you come to me" killer. But sucks at traversing the map. You would probably like someone like Demo, Freddy, Blight, Nurse, even spirit (using her power to traverse but not chase)

So it's really not a coincidence that the people you see play him in a certain way. He's not THE worst killer. I still feel that's trapper and pig.

I mean like I said I understand why people play him a certain way since he is the weakest killer. But I don't think he is intended to be a come to me type of killer, I feel trapper is that kind of killer. But what I'm saying is I have played every killer, now some more than others. But I have to say I gotten more 4ks in red rank with trapper than with trickster so I don't think trapper is the weakest. And I played the trapper around the same amount as the trickster, and I feel with the trapper I put less effort I play less sweaty and don't even need slowdown perks and I have won. Now I played the pig but not that much, but I rarely have gotten less than 4k with her the few times I played her. But the trickster yes he is the best in getting survivors in short tiles. But other than that any survivors that if the survivor has okay movements, and a okay knowledge of tiles they can destroy the trickster or waste a lot of time. Now I feel that whenever I play him I have to sweat if I wanna get any downs let alone hooks. You have put in 100% more effort vs simple teams, compared to other killers I don't have to put as much effort vs basic teams. Just based on my experience and he is too dependent on map, and perk dependent, and not only that he is dependent on survivors looping skills.

Twins are under-appreciated at most Ranks and just misused for camping.

At Rank 1, I can use them to slug a whole SWF. They’re easily in the top 5 best Killers when you really know what you’re doing.

My Killer top five would probably be Nurse, Spirit, Blight, Twins and Wraith

They are not under-appreciated. They are most boring killers to face, and even as playing vs them. And I can tell you 90% of the player base is not a fan. Even in twitch when the killer only users play them, I notice a lot of people in the chat don't like them and find them boring.

This is somewhat accurate. I actually 4k with trickster WAY more then anyone escapes. But that's from skill in general...Like of you're trying to play him as nurse/blight,etc and trying to traverse the map going chase to chase to chase. You WILL lose.

With that said..Trickster himself is NOT bad. A good trickster can down you fairly quick with good aim with knives. Quicker then some other characters TBH. What people don't seem to notice is trickster can keep laying knives in to you while you sprint away from your first health state. If they have good aim. You're not getting far

This sounds kind of like proxy camping. Which is what I noticed a that a lot of trickster play like this. Even the good killer only users that are on twitch I noticed played the trickster like this. Which proves my point this killer is the worst since you can't get clean wins as with every other killer. No other killer do you have to play like this for the most part. Which is why I probably lose with the trickster vs red ranks since I don't like to play that. I tend to like chases, but most competent survivors know were they can loop you infinitely aka the shack.

  • I seen only 1 really good trickster and that 5 days after his release. And I'm talking about a real good trickster that won clean, no tunneling no camping, be it proxy or any type of camping. It was in the asylum map which is a pretty hard map for him. I have only lost 2 times vs him that was 1 time, but the other time I lost he camped me. I have not seen him as much other than the first 2 days he was released and after his buff. As matter of fact I have not seen him in over 2 weeks as a survivor. And most trickster I have seen tend to tunnel and proxy camp, but I can kind of understand due how weak he truly is. Anyway I stop playing him as much since the more I play him, I realized I have to play really sweaty he just takes the most effort out of any killer if you want to get any downs vs decent survivors. Even just vs survivor who have decent movement in tiles if a survivor is just decent at looping not even good loppers, it's very difficult to catch them. Even a lot of the real good killer only user struggle with him at time. He is the only killer that it really depends on the type of survivors how smart they are, and how efficient they are.

    I think so.

It's a bit early to call, but I think his Tentacle attack isn't that good when compared to other Killers ranged attacks.

It needs to be more forgiving, have more range and/or break pallets faster.

Also, Tier III is basically useless.

He tentacle attack is the most forgiven in the game. It has the quickest cooldown attack. Tier 3 does make a difference since it lets reach further. I think based on the matches I played vs and as him, he is a balanced killer. Since the zombies make up for him. I have seen zombies down people, in mid chase when they block windows. He is powerful, and has plenty of counter play.

  • I think he is in definitely A tier. Your average killer user is is going to get the handle in him quickly. So he may be the best easiest killer in the game. But I think he is the 2 best killer indoor.

The totem cleanse speed is only relevant if you're being contested on the hex totem you want to cleanse. If the killer isn't around to stop you, it doesn't matter. However if the killer tries to contest you enough for it to matter, you're typically better off threatening to break the totem rather than actually breaking it since they lose pressure everywhere else on the map as a result and will potentially lose the game.

In addition to that, you only get a significant amount of cleanse speed by cleansing other totems first. But if you stop and take the time to cleanse those totems, you actually waste more time doing so as opposed to skipping them and gunning for the hex totem itself.

These above scenarios apply the same whether you're running Counterforce by itself, or with other totem-related perks (like Small Game). I honestly wouldn't recommend stacking totem perks for these reasons because there's just not much benefit to be derived - especially when compared to running nearly anything else.

    ---

At most, I predict Counterforce will only be decent in a totem meme build or as an alternative to Small Game (of which Small Game will probably still be better, but I'd argue they're close enough).

I still prefer my detective hunch over counterforce. Nothing can beat the ability to see all the totems and generator, and chest locations. Like you said if a killer is not around the speed boost won't matter.

  • @Mr_K said:

Then they waste a lot of time cleaning house.

More totem spots and better locations is the fix.

Not only that if the survivor has detective hunch ruin is 100% gone since it shows you all the totem location within 64 meters. Based on my experience the only map were detective hunch won't find all the totems without running across the map is haddonfield since it's huge, and I'm going to assume RCP since it's huge map as well.

  • No bad idea since you, yourself said that is what undying is meant for. And you would have to take out time as a killer to find the rest of totems, unless you got thrill of the hunt. It would be better for them to rework the totem spawn locations.
