Depends on what you view as a "win". But pyramid head is no joke. I think what you are describing has to do more with the latency of the game. Because that is often why powers, or abilities look like they don't hit you on your screen. But I don't view winning as getting a 4k I Just view it as getting more than 2k. But even then I don't expect to get more than 1k if I see the survivors are all efficient, and competent loopers.

Hello guys me and my friend were playing and he kept getting tunneled i just want to know a perk to stop tunneling
Nothing if a killer wants you out of the game. There probably will be a point he tunnels you out of the game, even if he chases you for the whole game and tosses the game. Unless you loop him enough to escape. Which is possible I done it albeit rarely, like extremely rare.
-
We gave a killer who got 2 hooks during the entire game a full 4k. By trying to save someone, when the killer had NOED. By the way this has happened to me multiple times.
-
Play him vs a red rank full squad and tell me how he performs vs decent loopers not good looper just decent survivors who know how to loop in jungle gyms, or shack. Even trapper won't struggle as bad, as he can put a trap and not have to deal with loops. And myers in tier 3 can one shot so he is not as bad.
-
It's overrated. In some situations such as a one hit scenario it can't be used. Sprint burst is much better. It rarely has hurt me when I played killer.

You can't be chill and play at red ranks on most servers at peak hours. I've heard from people swfing down here that AU is actually the worst when it comes to sweating, though no-one here really BM's. I guess we're just really competitive.
But, that kind of gameplay creates frustration which is released via general toxicity. I for one am glad to not deal with it too much. Though now that I'm down to purple/green ranks it's actually come up a lot more, especially since it's so ingrained in me to not chill out.
Edit: to clarify, it's toxicity and complaining directed at me by opponents and teammates. I'm not going around being a #########.
Right it's basically impossible to play chill at red ranks, as both killer and survivor. Although you can play more chill as survivor, but as killer you have to play sweaty. Or you are guaranteed to get 1 hook. It's just killers are likely to play to get 4ks at red ranks. And survivors are in to a 4k escape.

This morning, EVERY single trial I have tried as Trickster gets met with 1-3 people DCing the moment they see him. He's weak, and honestly one of (if not THE) weakest Killers in the game, but is he THIS hated by Survivors as well?
I have only played against Trickster once. It was yesterday, and I had no issue dealing with him and escaping. I even got a bit brazen against him and he was incapable of properly punishing me for it. Judging by the DCs, however, this is not normal. People would rather eat a 5+ minute DC penalty that play against a weak killer that throws toy knives.
This also happened last night, but I only played two rounds of Trickster, and chalked it up to late night Survivors wanting to farm and not play seriously, but no, this seems to be a thing. What's going on?
https://media1.tenor.com/images/3d9ed7977cd89d4bce7a3eca7e84caa4/tenor.gif?itemid=16509571
Pic related: It's been my Trickster matches all morning.
Range killers are hated by a lot of survivors, so that explain the dc. But I played trickster for a long amount of time, and I rarely ever had people disconnect like that. I have had a couple of give up like they just stand and let me down them. But I think it's the trickster reputation, since I have noticed a large amount of trickster tend to camp, and tunnel. And that type of playstyle is disliked by a lot of people. So it could be since unfortunately he has a bad reputation. But I kind of get why a lot of people play trickster like that since like you said he is the weakest killer in game, so people will use those tactics to get downs.

@indieeden7 said:
I feel like Trickster is a very awkward killer, he isn't boring to play against by any means but it can sometimes be frustrating to play against him.
He's essentially a combination of Plague, Huntress, Deathslinger.
Plague in the sense that you have to hit a survivor with your power enough times in order to injure them.
Huntress in that he has a ranged attack which can travel extremely far.
And Deathslinger in that his projectiles have very small hitboxes and can therefore hit survivors through debris that they may not realise that you can aim through.
I believe that survivor frustration arises from the latter two similarities, in this game, ranged killers are notorious for being frustrating to play against due to hitboxes and latency. Trickster is no exception to this, I have had many experiences where the knife that he needed to down me somehow manages to hit me from round a corner.
I find it funny that you're seeing so many DCs though, I would say that Trickster is probably the least frustrating ranged killer to go against, maybe dedicated servers are acting up and latency issues are becoming more frequent? Therefore leading to more hits that don't seem deserved on the survivor's end?
Hahah he is close range killer, at best there is some medium shots. But long range, not even possible with him with his recoil. And to be honest I never seen any trickster shot through small holes and things like that. And even with deathslinger I never been shot through a small hole.

They probably didn't know about mori rework so they wanted to counter the key and the ones who do know just dodge the lobby as versing a survivor with key is nothing fun.
Yeah I dogged lobbies when I see someone with a key. I was just curious since I found a key earlier, and I had it in the next lobby and forgot to remove it. And the killer brought a mori, so after that I wanted to see more reactions if the killers would bring mories.

Both are bad, but not Trapper/Trickster bad.
Basically. Play myers at red rank, and legion, and play trickster. Then tell me who is worse. Because in my experience I don't struggle as much to the same level as trickster, even with trapper I have won more games.

From my observations Spirit and Nurse are the most hated killers to go against. People call for them to be nerfed pretty regularly.
Wraith is kind of controversial. He got a buff just a few weeks ago that made him better. A lot of older players feel that this brought him from a relatively crappy killer to a "decent" one, whereas a newer player like myself feel that he's just become more cheap and prefer him the way that he was before. So in general, yeah, it seems to be a matter of overall experience with the game. I'd say that practice and skills you learn by playing overall will help to eventually make the harder killers less difficult over time.
Except the Spirit, I guess. :P
I didn't saw wraith as weak before his latest buff. He used to be weak in his early days. But before this buff he always was a decent killer. This buff made him more annoying more than anything, and yes cheaper hits. But I don't think nurse is as hated as spirt, nurse has more counter play than spirit. They overdid it with wraith in my opinion. But other weak killers that people think, such as pig, and clown. All these killers are not as weak as people claim. The only weak killers are trickster, and legion, and trapper to an extent.
-
Fair and balanced I would say since it's hex perk. I rarely seen anyone use it. It's basically bamboozle that can be destroyed at any moment.
-
Spirit is just a guessing game vs her. You can counter play her as with any killer. But it really comes down to guessing were she is moving during her phase. As most good spirits rely on your noises and movement.
-
I mean he is horrible regardless on what platform you are using him. Even on PC he has recoil if you hold M1, so tapping reduces the recoil, even though you can still feel it.
-
Voice commands similar to battlefield games. Having a circle with premade chat. But killer should also get an increase in bloodpoints naturally up to 60k. Since killers have to put in more work.
-
Yep had a guy saying the legion is he weakest killer in the game. Just because they cause survivor to split up. And how some streamers claimed wraith is weak, but I never saw him as weak, I always saw him as a decent killer.
-
If a person bought an expensive cosmetic it most likely mean that is their main character they play as, thus equal more skill in my view.
-
Same as last time. If you look at the stats on steam this game got around 7000 player bump in the stats for steam when silent hill was released. So I'm going to assume 10000 to 30000 in all the platforms. But mind you, silent hill is more closely related to this game in it's aesthetics. While RE is more of a shooter type of horror game. So maybe this game is not as appealing to RE fans as it was to SH fans. And I assume most will casually play this game, and probably stop playing it after 1 month.
-
This is why I don't want more people to have access to chat. I'm glad these no lives would not be able to find my steam account lol. Because in steam you can't search for user that have private profile on lol.
-
@Rullisi said:
Definitely is. I suck ass every game and still manage to always stay on red ranks somehow.
Yep I'm rank 1. Yet get de-ranked after losing a couple of matches, when I play chill. But I still manage to get up to rank 1 when I try-hard lol. But I don't feel like playing sweaty all the time.
-
@bibibib8 said:
Yes depend the time you play lets say you play during the day game are chill after 7 pm that when the swf come out so most of you game you need to sweat. If you play after midnight then you will face the sweaty 4 man swf now its a nightmare you dont want to play during those hour cause of my job when i play its after midnight so i drop the game because its not fun
Actually a lot of people say that night time is when you get sweaty squads. But from my experience I find that nighttime is when people tend to play more chill, since I get put vs mixed ranks. But the few times I played during the day I found that is when I get placed vs the sweaty rank 1 survivors.

100% I play casually and I cant get out of red ranks
As a killer?
-
@musstang62 said:
Up to red ranks, yes, you can pretty much play a little more chill and give hatch every game and still progress
Once in red ranks, if you're trying to get to rank one, giving hatch or playing more casually will probably mean safety pips or sometimes depips, unfortunately
I'd hazard a guess that a lot of the killers in red ranks though start out a game session playing casually, then get punished for it by getting stomped into the dirt by a good team slamming out all the gens in 4 minutes, so they stop playing casually. That's pretty much how the game goes. If both sides are playing casually, it's fun. If only one side is playing casual, it's miserable for that side
I have to agree playing casually in red ranks as a killer is basically impossible. Even as survivor in red ranks playing casually is pretty hard. But not as hard as killer. Everyone wants to play sweaty, like if this was some tournament lol.
-
Killer is easy in low rank. Survivor is harder since a lot of new players go down in a matter of seconds. In red ranks it's either sweaty killer, or sweaty survivors. There is no chill playstyle in the high ranks.
-
Trickster belongs in the forget letter F. The twinssss belong in pyramid head position. Pyramid head is in twins spot. Wraith and doctor are A. And demo belongs in the B. That is what I disagree with you, but the rest I agree.

Disagree.
ScottJund explained it better than I could in his video on the worst Killer.
Legion is counterintuitive to everything you want Survivors to do in DBD.
Unfortunately for that man, not all survivors play how he imagines. The other day I had a team who as soon as legion would hit them they would heal up. So I think the worst killer is trickster, then trapper, and then legion. And also I have seen a lot more legions win than tricksters in red rank. And being injured by default is not good, one is much likely to go down. While legion is an M1 killer essentially he can end chases quicker. The trickster can end chases quickly depending on the loop, or if you run in the open.
-
Naw it's bad enough that we have to deal with other pc users chatting most which is "gg" or trolls. I don't want to see what console users are going to say.

That's the closest I ever got with him for a 4K (granted, I've basically only been using his powers as I try to get the Adept Achievement before I move along to using the killer proper so had I been using Trickster like a normal killer, I probably would have gotten the 4K since I'd have had some useful perks on instead of his garbage perks).
I ended up getting 8 hooks (got everyone to their Death Hook) but they ended up being a rainbow group of survivors rather than Red Ranks with me.
Yep I got his adept vs green and purple ranks lol. But I rarely gotten a full 4k vs full red ranks. At best I have gotten 1 or 2k when it's full red ranks.
-
@Pulsar said:
Definitely disagree.
He's still worse than most of the roster, except maybe Legion and addonless Trapper.
Disagree just being 115% means by default legion and trapper are better killers. And legion and trapper can get the snowball effect, while with this guy forget about it. the Trickster can only focus on one person at a time.

I retract my being nice with my request for video
Video or it didn't happen. Show us your incredible skill and how everyone else is just super bad at the game and/or you're just a God at the game with Trickster. Show us that everyone else is just awful and you're not a liar.
If you can't and/or won't do it, I have no reason to believe a thing you have said. Video proof (full matches so we can see if these are competent survivors and you're not just curb stomping a bunch of noobs with highlights). Don't bother responding to me again (or go ahead I suppose, this is America but I'm not going to respond to you) until you have this video.
That happens to me haha. I get happy thinking I get a 4k with the trickster, and I'm thinking it's a bunch of upper red ranks. Only to see in endgame it's a bunch purple ranks. Not to say purple ranks players are bad, but most of the time when I play killer vs purple ranks I usually end up getting 3 to 4k.
-
@Chilli_man2400 said:
your right he’s viable against Rank 20 to 16 try playing him against red ranks where all survivors split on gens and have dead hard and know every tile
Yep only incompetent survivors will lose vs him. He weak, even good killer only users lose when they use him. And you have to put 100% more effort to get wins as him. You can't play him chill in red ranks, always sweaty.

Other ranged killers have a punishment for missing their ranged attack. Trickster does not. That's the problem. Trickster is extremely oppressive on open maps and extremely bad on closed ones. These are the real problems with this killer
That is why they I'm saying they can reduce his knifes to 40 or 50 to make up for the fact that he can injure people quicker. Honestly I don't think he oppressive on any maps, sure he has an easier time on open small to medium size map. And regardless it would still take 8 knifes to be able to down someone. Sometimes it takes too much time to simply injure a survivor, so this would help him out.
-
@Lentoro said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2180432#Comment_2180432
This would make him way more opressive. Imagine this killer at a low autoheaven loop lol. I wanted to make this killer both strong and not annoying to play against with this rework. Making it require 4 knives for an injure is way too low. Sometimes I feel like 7 knives is too much and too strong
I don't think he is annoying. I find the trickster the easiest to counter just go into the shack, or a jungle gym. But if they would to do something like that, it would solve his biggest problem not being able to have a lasting pressure. If it took 4 knifes to injure someone he would able to pressure quicker. And it would still take 8 knifes to down someone. They could reduce his knife base kit to 50, to make up for the fact he would be able to injure quicker. But yeah 7 knifes is too much at times to injure someone at certain loops. But think about ii all other 110% killers are able to injure survivors with one hit, the trickster needs 8 hits, with 4 it would be more reasonable to injure a survivor.

Hello, people of the fog and hopefully dbd developers. First of all I'm going to say that I absolutely love this guy and have played him for well over a 100 games adn understand that he has some issues. Second of all I understand that this killer is hard to balance because he can be extremely unfun to play as in certain scenarios and in others extremely unfun to play against. So, with that in mind let's get to what I have in mind. I'm not sure that ALL of these changes need to be implemented but I'm just listing off ideas. The goal of this post is not to tell you guys what you should do with this killer exactly, but to give you ideas to make this killer more fun and more unique. The list is going to be long so bear with me.
The trickster
Increased movement speed to4.6m/s???Increased terror radius to32m??? (not sure about these ones so I'll let you decide if it's balanced for trickster to move at 4.6m/s with his new power)
Showstopper:
- The Trickster now has 2 types of knives: Pain Blades and Trick Blades. Pain Blades function exactly like normal blades and deal 100% laceration per blade. Trick Blades function like the current addon with the same name but deal only 50% laceration per blade. They share the same ammo pool and can be switched between each other by pressing CTRL. There is no animation for switching blades. Trick Blades are yellow and have a yellow tracer behind them (similar to main event knives) and Pain Blades are purple with a purple tracer behind them.
- All blades now have a damage scaling system. If a blade hits a player within 16 meters of The Trickster it will deal 100(50)% laceration. If it hits a player between 16-32 meters it will deal 150(100)% laceration If it hits a player from 40+ meters away it will deal 300(200)% laceration. (the first percentage is pain blades and the second one is trick blades)
- While holding blades The Trickster moves at 3.68m/s but doesn't slow down when throwing them.
- The Trickster now moves at 2.68m/s while entering throw state and while canceling it.
Laceration Meter:
While lacerated by any amount of knives survivors are afflicted with theIncapacitatedstatus effect.(removed because can be annoying in certain scenarios and can be used to hold the game hostage)- Now requires 7 knives for a health state to be depleted.
- No longer depletes by itself. To deplete a laceration bar for a single charge survivors need to complete a "Pull Out Blade" action. Pulling out a blade takes 1.5 seconds. While pulling out a blade a survivor completely stops and crouches down to the ground so he cannot be hit over medium height loops. Survivors can hold the button down to slowly remove all blades.
Main Event:
- Now requires 40 blades to be hit instead of 20 to be charged.
- Now no longer depletes if not activated in time.
- Hitting a survivor with a basic attack will deplete the main event bar by 20%
- Can be activated by holding the CTRL key for one second and starts a 3 second activation animation during which the trickster is slowed down to 2.68m/s.
- Main event lasts for 50 seconds. Each thrown knife that hits a survivor decreases the duration of the ability by 0.5 seconds.
- Upon activating main event The Trickster gains killer instinct on all survivors for 10 seconds.
- While main event is active The Trickster walks with his knives out and moves at 4.6ms. All survivors hear a global audio que and hear the terror radius as if the killer was right next to them for the duration of main event.
- While main event is active The Trickster no longer automatically throws knives and can do all basic actions (kicking gens and pallets, breaking breakable doors, picking up survivors, open lockers etc.) but cannot vault windows.
- While main event is active The Trickster has infinite amount of knives.
- Picking up a survivor cancels Main Event but doesn't decrease the ability bar.
- Being stunned while Main Event is active will cancel the ability but won't decrease the ability bar.
- The Trickster can activate Main Event again when he fills up the ability bar by hitting enough knives.
- When throwing blades he instantly slows down to 3.68m/s and throws knives at max throw rate. The Trickster regains his movement speed once he has not thrown a single blade in 2 seconds.
- Thrown blades glow bright yellow, ricochet twice and deal 100% laceration.
- When Main Event runs out The Trickster suffers a 4 second fatigue and is at 0 knives and needs to reload.
- Main Event cannot be canceled early.
Addon Changes:
- Trick Pouch is now an uncommon addon (was common). Effects remain the same.
- Killing Part Chords: Slightly increases knives reload speed at lockers (-0.5 seconds)
- Inferno Wires: Slightly increases main event duration (+4 seconds)
- Tequila Moonrock: Moderately increases main event duration (+6 seconds)
- On Target Single: Slightly increases the time it take for survivors to pull out blades (+0.2 seconds per blade)
- Lucky Blade: Now common. Trick Blades now ricochet once instead of twice. Awards 100% bonus bloodpoints for hitting trick blades.
- Caged Heart Shoes: Moderately increases knives reload speed at lockers (-0.75 seconds)
- Melodious murder: Considerably increases knives reload speed at lockers (-1 second)
- Waiting for you watch: Moderately increases the time it take for survivors to pull out blades (+0.3 seconds per blade)
- Ripper Brace: Moderately decreases the time it takes to activate main event (-0.5 seconds)
- Trick Blades: Name changed to Iridescent Blades. Rarity changed from very rare to iridescent. Trick Blades no longer ricochet but now phase through the environment, causing 25% laceration.
- Diamond Cufflinks: Effect is now not limited in time. Survivor get a notification when this addon is in effect.
- Death Thores Compilation: Rarity changed to very rare. When a survivor's laceration is one blade away from the maximum they are afflicted with the incapacitated status effect until they remove all blades.
SUMMARY:
These changes are meant to change trickster from a mediocre and extremely annoying killer to an explosive mad man who can turn the tides of the game in a matter of seconds. The numbers could always be tweaked of course. This, I feel will make him much more interesting to play as and against. If you have any questions about my rework, please feel free to ask down below, I will try to answer everyone.
I would like that they made it 4 knifes to injure someone, and 8 to down someone. That way he could be able to injure multiple people in a low amount of time, thus creating pressure. Or they make it so laceration only goes down to 4 knifes. And with the main event maybe make it so that he is quicker when using it, and being able to hold it so he uses it when he needs it. And they could make it so main event gives an automatic reload after you use it.
-
My list in order.
- Twins slugging machine.
- Freddy Just the fact that it looks like he has 5 foot arms.
- Legion some are annoying how they causes us to mend half the match.
- Hag camping machine.
- Wraith annoying especially in maps with low pallets, and windows.
- Huntress since it seems she has a hitbox the size of a house.

Good players won't play cocky around an Oni. Bodyblocking actually benefits him more than any other killer
I mean it depends on the killer. But Oni will automatically be respected. But if they see one is not good, than a lot people won't respect the killer regardless of who they are. But some killers people don't respect right of the bat, unless they see the killer is good. And trickster that type of killer.

Well again, my gripe with small game was the perk-versus-perk dynamic that it promoted.
Just look around the areas tend to spawn at then. Either you can leave the totems, so if the killer has NOED they may spawn in those areas. Or try to find all the totems and destroy them. But detective hunch can show you where all the gens are located at, and chest. So it can prevent three gens and things like that, so take that into account.
-
Detectives hunch. Most underrated perk for survivors.
-
Because stealthy users are the real gatekeepers lol. The blue hair fengs or the pink hair neas are the ones who want the chase. But they typically don't like to work on gens. While the claudettes who are in the background are the ones doing gens.
-
Corrupt intervention, Ruin and bbq, and Sometimes devour hope or pop. I may switch bbq or corrupt with another perk at times of your choosing. But ruin is must with him, or pop.
-
The first match might be survivor with friends. But yeah the second one is a lack of killers in this game in high ranks. Not many killers above green. So they match you with the closest ranks.
-
On the right side of the screen there is a "perfect games (survivor)" with a drop arrow. You click on it and there is stats for different options. But I think it only show stats for steam users. But no it just shows you stats, you can't compare.
-
Maybe they should add 8 vs 2, so casuals can play with a friend and both be killers. That would be a fun mode.
-
You're not wrong according the steam achievements only 4% of users have reached rank 1. And only 5.2% have reached rank 5 killer. Compared to 6.2% who have reached rank 1 survivor. I think most casual users play survivor. And some casuals may play killer only a couple of times and decide they don't like it. I have a couple of friends who have never played killer and are survivor only. Overall I think playing killer is more stressful, and requires more effort so it turns of a lot casual users. But yeah in red ranks I see the same killer user from time to time, mind you I have cross-play on. They need to make killer more appealing to casual users. Because most red rank killers are not causal lol. It's batter to play a mix thought so you can get an idea of how the other side thinks, and what strategy's they use.
-
I would rather see the NOED stats.

Fair enough, though I do agree she isn't weak, I don't think she is in a decent spot considering she suffers from the same problem Trapper does, which is that her power is basically spread out throughout the map which makes it considerably disadvantageous for her.
Trapper is way weaker than her. She can shoot her power from a distance, she can get survivors to a one hit status with her vomit. Trapper is the second weakest character in this game, not a good comparison because he has no power while she does even without her vile vomit.

I have several hundred hours in the game and, I would say I'm a decent survivor. I usually end up in red ranks but, I don't find that level of play fun.
Going against red rank killers is too much sweat, same meta perks over and over again. Knowers, that know everything.
I play solo so my team is a dice roll. If I had friends at my level of play maybe red rank wouldn't be so bad as swf.
I look forward to rank reset just to have fun.
I think rank 1s play sweaty in both sides. It's the mentality since a lot of survivors do play sweaty as well. So I assume it's expected. And I seen a lot of survivors use the same build. But can you really blame anyone since those builds are the most effective.
-
None she is in a decent position. She is not weak, but not overpowered.

@Laluzi said:
I expect NOED more on certain killers. Trappers seem likely to run it as a failsafe for if their setup fails and too many gens fly before they can get the ball rolling. Bubbas tend to run it not because Bubba makes any significant use out of it when he can already instadown, but because Bubba is a favorite of salt farmers and NOED gets some high-grade salt out of survivors. And killers that don't play very well are likelier to have it, because it's a sign they're lower rank and lower ranks love NOED (as opposed to higher ranks, where it's a rarer sight.)
Also, if the killer is AFK all match, do bones. This goes double if it's a Wraith or Nurse. Lots of players do meme endgame builds and I'm always suspicious of a killer that's just standing there, especially if they're standing near an exit gate.
In 5 out my 12 matches today, the killer had NOED mind you I'm rank 1. So those were red ranks. I hardly see bubas with NOED, I seen a lot of wraiths who use it for some reason. And he is dangerous since can run at 150% and it's easy for him to get hits.
