  • Naw we play more chill during PTB, well at least me since I don't care. But you will have a lot of people DC because they get downed, or they wanna play in the new map. Or if you play any other killer than the new on that is released sometimes people will DC. In general it's more chill. Some people do play sweaty, but not compared to the live version. I think it can be less fun after couple of days since the less people will play the PTB after a couple of day depending on the content. Although since it's nemesis I do think this PTB will have more players longer than if it was an original character. Since the trickster and the twins PTB pretty much was popular for 1 day.

  • No he is 115% same speed are most killers. He is definitely not in the D tier, he is probably an A tier based my early experience I have had with him. But I do agree with the map they made for him, it will big for some killers.

I've got reported multiple times because I ran the killer around for a while Lmao Both sides would suffer IMO

I never reported anyone to be honest. I do find it not smart that a killer would report you for that. Either way I'm pretty sure, when you beat and SWF it's more likely to get banned quicker, since it's 4 vs 1 that is why is why some people are worried if it's being developed how everyone is assuming.

  • so far in the right hands he could be S tier. But for the average users he is not that bad. He is pretty strong once you get the handle of him, he plays a little similar to pyramid head is the best comparison in the way his attack works.

I've been saying this for a lot of times: Not Only Killers Suffer, Nice Survivors Also Suffer. From Toxic Teammates And Toxic Killers

Lets be honest this will definitely affect killers only users way more than survivors. Even people who just play killer half and half. The other day I went vs a TVV user, and I watched her stream and she reported me a "toxic" just for being near the hook for a while. So imagine killer only users they must surely get reported for things like that all the time. When compared to survivors you only get reported for valid things such as hacking, and sandbagging and working with the killer.

  • Yeah I think this is bad idea at least if it's being developed in the way it was presented, and the way everyone is assuming. You will have people who lose report mainly killers lets be honest. Of things like camping and tunneling, and even for so what people believe is toxic. Which is something I think we can all agree should not be something killers should be banned for. I hope it's things like this are being taken into consideration.

We don't know anymore details besides that they plan to remove Mori Offerings and integrate Moris into gameplay so Killers can earn the ability to Mori survivors.

I'm calling it already after getting a number of hooks killer will be able to mori survivors now. I'm guessing 8. And that means getting caught with NOED only to get moried.

  • This is probably is just an Xbox hardware issue in general since it seems Xbox players are the ones having stutter issues. I have not seen many ps4/ps5 users complain about stutter. Even myself played on the ps4 pro and never had stutter issues/lag.

  • Not a main, but I do play survivor slightly more than killer. The survivor I main is Ace, why simple. He is quietest survivor overall. Nothing more or less.

  • It's not overpowered on any other killer. Plus I only have one 1 encountered with a nurse who ran startstruck. It's 1 in 1000 chances you will see those sweaty nurses who run this. Not enough to nerf the perk. If any killer perk should be nerf it should be NOED.

  • You're right it's not a good perk. But it's an annoying perk to deal with it, when a killer can have a one hook during the whole game only to get easy downs at the end. Which is why I don't run it when I play killer, I view it as just the admitting "I'm not a decent and I know it". Which is why I run detective hunch much better perk than small game, so I destroy most of the totems if I run into them and memorize were the rest are in case the killer has NOED.

  • Yun and Elodie, and maybe Nea they all have annoying sounds in that order.

  • @Kirkylad said:

It was a change to a play style that survivors didn't like, so they nerfed her instead of addressing the real issue of why she has to play like that to win.

There is nothing they could do to change the playstyle since that is how she is most effectively played. Anyway I have played her in the past but I just found her unfun to play as. It's so dull, she is not a bad killer she is actually pretty good. Even when so big streamers play her I notice a lot of people complain that they find her boring.

95, I tried 100 but it was too fast so I'm getting used to 95 first.

Are you a on a computer platform?

  • Don't think it's as bad that it needs a change. Rather them focus on other more important task.

  • Extreme slugging is not fun for anyone, just hook and let the person decide if they wanna keep playing.

  • Because a lot people come in expecting this to be stealthy type of horror game. But they quickly find out you have people who actually run towards the killer and chases them at times not the opposite. Anyway based on my friends experience you either like this game or don't. Because most of my friends only play this with SWF. They don't even touch the game solo, never at all. And paying even as killer even less. only 1 of my friend who play this plays killer only to do challenges. That is why I don't think a lot of resident evil fans will stick around. Since RE is more of a shooter type of horror, were as silent hill is more of a stealthy type of horror game. And even a lot of the silent hill fans did not stick around. Also it's basically if you like asymmetric multiplayer games to.

  • Yep they seem to think pc knifes don't have recoil but it does, if we hold M1 the knifes have recoil so we tap it instead. By tapping we don't get bad recoil. Maybe tapping the knife throwing button as you said will reduce the recoil.

  • None I play whoever I feel like playing at the moment.

  • @Pulsar said:

I'd like to see you attempt to control his recoil with a controller.

And yes, Console does affect a Killer's power, hence why Nurse and Blight were consistently NEVER played.

    ######### like this happens constantly

    https://youtu.be/4LkgVnZbOl8

PC has recoil too. It's just when we hold M1 he has recoil so we tap M1 instead and it massively reduces the recoil. I think maybe if you tap R2 for ps4 or whatever button you use to throw knifes on Xbox it could reduce the recoil, maybe you should try tapping. I know we are used to just holding R2 when playing shooters on console and they don't suffer from recoil, but this guy does.

Xbox sucks in general. I've played this game on the new one and it was worse than the PS4 version. Thought the clip was from PS4 😂

This game might not be built to handle Xbox one/S hardware. Because I played this game on my ps4 pro and never had lag issues like pulsar has had.

I don't get the meaning of that so-called insult either. I've always taken it as a compliment. I've even responded, a little tongue in cheek, "have you considered actually trying hard too?" I try to resist that because it isn't really abiding by my code of being humble in victory and gracious in defeat. All of those terms (tryhard, sweaty, etc.) are cut from the same cloth and have never made any sense.

Some people want to play more chill. So to some it appears like they are overdoing it in their playstyle.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/251066/is-trickster-really-that-bad-what-players-make-it-out-to-be

against decent survivors yeah trickster really sucks....but against bad ones...he is kinda decent i must say

Any killer can be good vs casual survivors. But the longer I play him, the more I see he just struggles vs decent loopers. Even a lot of the best killer only users struggle vs people who have just the basic knowledge of looping. He is the worst killer vs high tile loops because he is stuck at 110% and taking out your knifes slow him down massively.

  • I'm not a main on anything. But I have played the trickster for many hours. The best tip I can tell you is to avoid the shack. Any person you see running to the shack try to throw throw knifes to de-route them or try to get enough knifes to stop them before they get to the shack. Because a lot of good loopers that I have played against immediately try to run shack. If they loop in any short tile you have 100% percent chance to down them if you have knifes just throw them while they around the tile. Don't try to use your knife all the time if a survivor in front of your face just take the hit.

  • I think @GodLikeTerror is the best trickster user according to the stats. He should know a couple of things.

  • Some people think he is decent. Overall vs casuals sure any killer can be decent. But vs the people who play sweaty all the time good luck. He is great vs short loops but any high wall loop pretty much can destroy him so long as you are a decent looper, and the shack can almost become an infinite tile vs him. Because lets be honest whenever you face against trickster you most likely think it's going to be a free match. Since I'm sure 80% of tricksters only get 1k vs decent loopers. I only have lost to the trickster 2 times since his release. So In my opinion he is the weakest killer.

  • Have not seen ash in a couple of weeks.

And how many players played only a hour? Was dbd free on steam for a weekend? What is with all the franchise fans (silent hill etc) who quit early? Is there are trophy which you can compare? Maybe something like escaping 50 trials or similar? (I dont have steam)

It's all public information steam trophies at least. And I was checking my ps4 to see the stats of how many people got the rank achievement, and I don't think the ps4 version has the rank achievement that steam has. But you can see how many are playing in steam on website that show number of players that are playing, and how much have played it over it's lifespan.

  • I'm glad I have not seen them in over a week. Honestly a lot of people play them tediously, such as slugging people for the half match.

  • @Wedeguy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2202269#Comment_2202269

But what about the portion of players who are playing on red ranks? the killer is 1 person, and if he's a competent killer, all he needs is 2 boosted survivors to give him a free win(out of the 4, sometimes even 1 is enough).

I'm going to be honest with you sometimes I don't feel like going up against certain killers, and I won't give it my 100% I will just give them an easy down since I want out of the match as quick as possible. Or sometimes me or other people don't care if we down, I don't feel like playing sweaty all the time I'm pretty sure other people sometimes want to play chill, despite them being decent at the game.

  • I mean if you look at the steam stats for trophies only 15% of survivors have reached rank 10. Meaning 85% of players have not reached rank 10 for this game as survivors, and for killers it's way lower. Meaning most of the people who play this game are casual 85%, makes sense why they would adjust the game on lower ranks.

  • Yeah playing killer is more of a chore at certain times. I would suggest to avoid playing killer at times when they are sweaty. Play at night when survivors tend to play less sweaty. Just ignore the shenanigans that survivors play such as clicking and things like that.

  • He is very survivor dependent/map dependent. He is strong in short loops, but if survivor is decent at looping high wall loops or shack his ability becomes useless. He is the only killer you have to avoid certain survivors if you see them in a strong loop. In other words vs decent survivors he is horrible. The shack becomes an infinite if the survivor runs around it.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/250853/so-is-trickster-going-to-get-some-buffs

No, he won't, atleast for the foreseeable future. And the reason is "he already got buffs after his release" is the devs reasoning.

Hes stuck at the bottom of the barrel for a long time.

Sad part this is what I said. He got his 5 minutes of fame, and pretty much got forgotten about. And I don't expect him to get any buffs for a year. He will rarely be used after this chapter, I mean he already is rarely used. I have not seen a single trickster as a survivor in nearly a week. But after the RE chapter become available he will just be the K-pop inspired killer in the roster, he will become another plague rarely ever to be seen.

Trickster is not close range. His knives go a good amount of distance. Might be like Huntress were he sucks more on consoles due to aiming...but I never had a struggle with 8 hits. He kind of like bubba, got to control the survivors direction. Legion is helpless in those situations.

If we look at Plague, she is worse like Legion, because both can just be palyed around the abilities. Trickster will always be able to use his ability. It has extra steps, but it can easily save you time from loops. Legion and Plague can't do anything about them.

Sure you can get downs from a far range or medium range if the survivor is 1 or 2 knifes from being injured or going down. But he is no huntress since she can down someone with one hatchet. I actually think legion is not strong as plague, since plague can cause survivors to get injured from her vomit. And at a certain point if survivor are all on injured state then you activate her vile vomit and some will start cleansing. And with that she becomes a short range killer that is actually strong. She can is very good vs short loops and jungle gyms with her vile purge. But as I said trickster ability is worthless when survivors go into shack and jungle gyms. I had matches were the smart survivors as the soon as the see me, they start running to the nearest jungle gym, or shack. And at the point it would take a too long to down them.

  • @xenotimebong said:

Interesting that the use rate pre-nerf was only 27%. If you listened to the forums you’d have thought it was run by every survivor in every single match.

Also interesting to see the use rate drop so sharply. I wonder if that was before the change to have an Obsession in every match, or after.

Stats show the escape rate remained the same since the people use it, use it smarter or when they are actually being tunneled. Because previously people would just use it to force the killer to pick them up. Or it would give them 1 minute of immunity. Since people would be unhooked do gens right in the killers faces. And that point one is likely not being tunneled. I still run it since DS has given me escapes that would not have happened had I not had it. Such as end game when I'm being camped, and I have a guaranteed escape.

  • I actually like the changes because when I play killer I don't tunnel unless I can't find anyone else. But the one thing that they need to change is when it deactivates when you self heal. Because I have had occasions were I accidently press self heal with med kit during chase when I'm getting tunneled. But as a survivor it's a great perk especially at the end of the game if you are getting camped and get unhooked, since you get basically a 100% escape at that point.

  • @Gnarly said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2199484#Comment_2199484

Trickster can do something to end chases. He has more steps than Huntress, but he has the same solution. Depending on the map, you can be screwed and Gideon is a hard map for both. Too many objects to hide behind, however most maps favor the range killers.

Legion is worse in open maps, and people just love th character so much they play him at any rank, like Michael Myers. If everyone is separated from each other doing gens, Legion can't use his ability. I bring distressing and he NEEDS that perk so much. He is never going to down anyone through his ability. If all four survivors are injured, then his ability is even worsen. You can force them to mend sure, but why do that when you can get them down, except...you habe nothing to help you in chases because ypur ability slows you down from stun when it's over.

Yeah I don't think you ever played trickster. Because he actually plays more similar to the plague in the way her vomit works. They both have the same counter, you try to avoid short loops vs both in that way. But how ever plague is way more stronger than him since she can throw her vomit in jungle gyms and shack and actually get you. And believe it or not gideon is one trickster best maps if you are on the top floor. But that is the thing for trickster you have to play vs survivors who know how don't know how to properly loop. Because any looping that is not short is very effective vs the trickster. While with legion since he is 115% it's not easy to loop him like the trickster. But I get that survivors splitting up hurts legion but that is the case for any killer. But legion is able to travel quickly across the map with his power and you can get to survivors more quickly. While even with the trickster huge maps hurts him badly since he is a close range killer, at best you can get some medium range shots. But as I said being injured is a pressure maker, it's a great way to add pressure while with the trickster you can't injured everyone with one blow. I actually think ghost face might be a bit weaker than legion honestly.

  • It's is and always will be survivor sided since it's 4 brains vs 1. But with coms aka with friends it more heavily survivor sided.

  • @Gnarly said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2199431#Comment_2199431

Ah but do you see Legions or Plagues? I THINK NOT...at least he can down someone with his ability

Played plague last night vs full red rank squad and managed to get a 3k. Played the trickster last night as well in the same map too Gideon meat plant, and only managed to get 1k but a decent amount of hooks. I think the reason people don't like to play the plague is because she can be kind of boring to play at the beginning. But I do see a couple of legions, and legion can injure everyone, and thus have pressure in the game and he is 115% so I have lost way more legions than tricksters. I only lost 2 times to a trickster since his release. But I'm telling you one of my friend who does not know how to loop at all, even managed to loop him the other day when played vs one, so take as you will. I think you should play the trickster in red ranks too see how hard it truly is vs competent survivors not even goods ones just regular ones.

  • Trickster range ability is worthless outside of short loops or unless you are running in the open close range. There is a reason you don't tricksters in rank 1, he is the weakest killer vs shack and jungle gyms. He has no snowball potential and he has to focus one survivor at time, and you have commit to getting one health state down if you throw your knifes. Also his 1 on 1 chase is not even good if you know how loop in jungles gyms or shack. Even my friend who does not know how to loop managed to loop him for a while the other day. Even when I play trapper in rank 1 I can get more downs, and not struggle as bad.

  • Don't see anything too special about him to be honest.

  • @theplaggg said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2198100#Comment_2198100

Not you acting like Trickster is any good. Big maps destroy him. Even when you do have your godlike aim and survivors don't dodge your knives he's still slow and has no map pressure. He is no threat on range like Deathslinger or Huntress.

You can do good with Trickster but thats mostly on the survivors mistakes. He needs some major adjustments.

I don't get how some people act like only certain killers will eventually down survivors. Any killer can eventually down a survivor if they commit to it, unless the survivors can manage to loop the killer for the whole match. I don't think people have played the trickster vs decent survivors sure it's possible to win, but with Huntress you would win with less effort.

  • Force them out lol. That is what I always do, I will gladly take the points if they let me to.

  • I get what you mean. But you are not always going to be 100% accurate. And sometimes people will move sideways so you won't be able to get any knifes into them. And looping the shack vs competent survivors can take a looong time. Especially if they know when they turn into a different direction were it's impossible to get any knifes into them.

  • @MadLordJack said:

4.4 and 4.6 speed has nothing whatsoever to do with map mobility. It's pure placebo. It takes Huntress about 5 seconds longer than Trapper to get from one side of the map to the other.

Edit: Also, if you're getting screwed over by any single tile ever, you're not playing Trickter right. Don't mindgame. Don't be fancy. Hold W and learn the timings of when to ready his knives and every corner you turn will be another knife or two. The only time tiles really become problematic is when it's Suffocation Pit.

Actually he is slower than huntress because you have to aim his knifes on more occasions. So he gets slowed down longer than huntress and deathslinger. So it can be hard vs decent loopers who go into the shack, or even basic jungle gyms, since you have to aim a lot. Overall he is definitely the weakest killer in the game at the moment since you have to get 8 knifes into survivors. So they should do something about the laceration in my opinion, or make it 4 knifes to injure and keep at 8 to down someone, and reduce his knifes to 40.

  • @CriticalWeasel said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/250434/tricksters-speed

Trickster is pretty okay in low wall loops but he's incredibly weak when you use transitional kiting tactics instead.

King of short loops. But basically most basic high walls loops can destroy him.

  • @Sup3rCatTree said:

Completely ignoring the rest of the post but How are trapper and clown as bad as trickster?

They are not lol. Just being 4.6 makes the difference in ending a chase 30 seconds in the shack. And clown is anti-loop. And trapper can put traps to not even allow people to loop.

  • Unless the nurse Is one of those sweaty ones who slug everyone and wants to knock down everyone, and don't hook.

  • Depends true tunneling is a horrible thing. I seen it happen even if the killer is not doing as bad. And or if the killer is wants to take out the weak link of the team as quickly as possible.

1 … 15 16 17 18 19 … 23
