Hello!
Just a message to my fellow addon/offering hoarders - use your stuff!
I decided I wanted to prestige III a few characters and, naturally, have to spend my cakes & high-power addons before I lose it all, and discovered that I have a virtually inexhaustible supply of the stuff!
This is on my killers, mind you. I think I ended up in a situation where I would amass my BP enhancing offerings (namely cakes & bloody party streamers) since the feeling of doing very badly during a match where you end up giving the survivors an absurd amount of bonus bloodpoints is not a very good feeling at all. Similarly, bringing limited supply addons can feel like a waste if the match doesn't go as planned! Additionally, I've long feared using addons that I'd become dependent on having - like, the kind that change your playstyle so significantly that you effectively can't even play your killer without that addon.
It's all NONSENSE! Spend your stuff! Go nuts!
All said, I've been currently cleaning out my 15 Judith's Tombstones on Meyers while I also clean out my bloody party streamers, and some survivors have been a little cross with me for 'wasting' them - but I'll tell you what the real waste is: never using it at all!
I think the mentality that you HAVE to get maximum value whenever you bring an addon/offering is a self-defeating way of handling your stuff. Of course you'll have plenty of matches where you come in armed to the teeth and end up with an embarrassing performance - but if you are getting agitated over not getting crazy value out of your things, you'll also never get to enjoy when those addons & offerings really rake in the benefits!
Is there cake now? Did they bring the cake?

So how would you interpret sandbaggin a teammates at a pallet and then teabagging 20 times at said pallet? Like really. If that isn't toxic. What is?
Nothing is toxic except the endgame chat of calling people names and slurs
-
@DrDeepwound said:
I like toxic, hell I HUNT for flashlight SWFS every night as Franklins Bubba, flashy clickers do not bother me at all other than the flickering light, but toxic? pfft, the things people consider toxic in this game is childsplay to the stuff we did in late 90s online MMORPG gaming. They had to create words like "griefing" too describe the stuff we were doing for fun in those days.
I honestly get excited when I see last second flashlight equips and stuff, bring it on you little teabagger, I love knocking flashlights out their hands
Bring lightborn, it's even more fun to see their reactions of "oh dear oh no why isn't it working" lol

Switch to Killer, you'll be happier. The Devs haven't changed survivors forever and had only changed the survivor meta once in the last 4 years, with Circle of Healing.
The game is far better on the Killer side than the survivor side. It has variety, they get useful perks every patch and they don't deal with face-camping and tunneling-off-hook-till dead.
Trust me, when the developers do this meta switch up, every single survivor perk will be about as useful as Corrective Action.
The only useful thing survivors will get when the developers nuke the survivor perks will be built in borrowed time.
Yeah, killer is all fun and games until you get 4 man swf back to back to back to back to back to back ect

It activates on injure hits too, not only on downed people.
I guess if you want to flashlight it, you might be able to make it, then you run the risk of your teammate not seeing you and running towards you with killer beside you, lol
I think empathy would personally be better, and you can see them on injured or downed state 24/7

I think the numbers are fine. I'd rather get more info and it triggering more often than have it trigger when the killer is only super close. I've gotten a little value out of it so far when I needed to decide to greed the gen or leave.
I guess I'm just thinking there's better aura reading out there personally
-
@HectorBrando said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2990820#Comment_2990820
Why not? Its not super useful but info is info, you may want to go for a bodyblock or a flashlight save in case the guy gets downed.
I mean, can you make 48 meters by the time the killer picks up the survivor and puts him on a hook?
-
@amazing_grace said:

To watch a knock out nurse come blinking towards you as you start to run away in fear but end up going down anyway even with this mediocre perk.
In all seriousness, I agree that even if this perk synergizes with open handed, it's probably not much more useful information. I guess it would make the perk better if you consider bigger number better? I'm still not so sure that it works with the perk just because of the wording, but hopefully someone tests it.
I would personally want tier 3 to be 16 meters, so I actually have a chance of knowing where the killer is, but maybe that's just me

Just leaving that there for anyone looking for some basic/effective Solo builds.

@amazing_grace said:
That's a good question. I'm not sure because I haven't tested it, but I would like to think that it wouldn't work on Inner Focus. Open Handed affects aura reading, so the scratch marks shouldn't get extended because they're not auras. The actual aura of the killer that gets revealed is triggered by a survivor getting hit within 32 meters of you, so I don't think open handed would extend this because the survivor getting hit within a certain distance is the condition to see the aura.
With the little bit of time I spent with open handed I'm 90% sure that 32 would get increased to 48, but like...why would you want to see the killer that's already 32 meters, let alone 48 meters, away

I see so many suggestions of her walking through pallets/vaults. I hate to break to you but that will just never happen. If she walks through at normal speed she would become the best anti-looper and would break the game a little. If she traverses through normally (vault speed) it would be worthless since survivors can see what she's doing and predict accordingly.
How about giving her some kind of fatigue if she does do it so survivors have time to register
Ik when I play doc and have illusionary pallets, survivors sit there a second longer thinking "uh oh" lol

The community seems to agree that Dredge's teleportation powers are similar to Sadako's. Most importantly that they're even better than hers. Having more access to places to teleport and create mindgames with, Sadako only has condemned to compensate for it. But even condemned is underwhelming along with the rest of how she's built (Lullaby, gimmicky stealth power, and long cooldowns)
There's no purpose in playing her anymore. What are your guys' suggestions on how to buff Sadako?

That's because killers stomp solo q

@MrBuffalo said:
At first I was a little worried about this killer when seeing him in the PTB.
Seeing his locker TP I was worried he would be a very map dependent killer who would really only work on indoor maps but for once BHVR have actually surprised me and added extra locker spawns in areas they don't normally appear (like near piggy tree)
As survivor I was worried his remnant he leaves behind would make him like Artist and just completely shut down loops forcing more shift+W but BHVR actually added some counter play around it along with some room to mind game each other.
This killer has great map pressure with the lockers and to add to the lockers they can only be locked once. This adds so much skill expression for survivors. To shut that locker off right at the start or to save it for later and lock it later in the match.
Is he perfect? Most likely not but he is what killers should aim to be like. Have counterplay and the ability to expression skill on both sides.
Sorry, what's the piggy tree? Is that the massive tree on coldwind?

it is totally holding someone hostage if you slug them and make them wait out the entire bleed time. absolutely no question about it.
I have had killers do this to entire teams, all 4 people. everybody just lies there until they finally die. it's terrible, it feels terrible, and it's 100% mega toxic behavior.
Holding the game hostage is having no way to end the game, such as a killer who traps you in the corner and doesn't hit you so you have to just sit there, slugging may be annoying, but some people do it out of spite, while some do it for good reasons
-

The thing is, you can't change other people. You will always come across killers or survivors who do or say things to upset you. That won't stop. So all you really can change is how you react to it.
For me, I just have the mindset that it's just a game. It's not that deep. Nodding, tbagging, whatever, pressing a button makes them feel good. Being camped, oh well I'll hang here for as long as I can and we'll just chill together. Tunnelling, oh well, maybe next game will be more interesting. Flashlights, I have Lightborn so I'm good.

@CarbonaraCharlie said:
Hi everyone, I’m a killer main who play’s survivor on occasion to unlock new stories from the archives.
It seems that 30 percent of the time I play survivor, I find killers who camp hooked survivors which just ruins the fun for anyone who plays survivor. This really needs to be addressed in a way that actually motivates killers to stop doing it.
There should be a new status effect where killers can only inflict deep wound status to injured survivors if they have stood within a certain radius of a survivor for 20 seconds or so. This effect would be paused when killers are damaging generators and completely stopped when there are other survivors within the hook radius unless the killer is already affected by the status effect. The effect progress would not be visible to the killer but the effect itself would be visible when it is activated.
Doing something like this would stop killers from camping and decrease the chance of a survivor dying on their first hook and getting frustrated. This would need to be balanced with some other survivor reworks (cough… dead hard), but could potentially make the game more fun for survivors and killers alike.
Tried this kinda thing already, survivors abused it, so survivors don't get to have hook techs

But why is the survivor supposed to go down? If it takes catching them at the next loop, I don't see anything wrong. The perk helps said survivor live a few more seconds?
Doctor power is actually anti-loop so when timed properly there is no counterplay.
Well I mean, docs power depends on server lag, I've had ot both ways where a survivor should and shouldn't have gotten hit
As for why a survivor should go down...this isn't supposed to be killer bully simulator, you're supposed to go down, because y'know..."big bad killer man gets outplayed by a giant pallet" doesn't have a nice ring to it for a name
-
@Sluzzy said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2982459#Comment_2982459
I see nothing wrong with that. Killers have abilities to close the gap literally in their power without having to use a perk at all.
Not only can Blight "shorten" a chase naturally making it unfair for survivor, they still have 4 perk slots to prevent survivors from doing objectives.
Yeah but see there's your problem, you're acting like blight is the only killer anyone ever plays, I main doc and I can tell you rn that get dead harded for doc is quite detrimental, and I can't get my shock therapy off in time because they already made it to the pallet and dropped it
-

Dead hard requires some skill to pull off a successful dodge. The timing has to be perfect. You can't compare that to NOED which bypasses a health state and a huge boost in speed.
Sluzzy, if you're using dead hard to dodge an attack, you're doing it all wrong, you use it to gain distance and get to a pallete and prolong a chase
-
@KurnDisciple said:

Yeah and I still don't like it on him even
M1 hits against good survivors are very difficult, so typically I am getting more shreds than M1s against good teams as demo. My perk setup vs. bad teams doesn't matter because I would beat them with any perks.
By the time it comes online as an actually useful perk, 3+ gens can be done. And no good team is feeding you enough M1s in a short enough timeframe to make it truly a game changing perk unless it's during a hook trade or a massive throw.
You can argue "but you recover faster so after a hit the survivor doesn't make it to the next pallet" and the reality is that most of the distance survivors make after getting hit is from the speed boost, not the time you spend recovering. Even at 8 stacks there's plenty of maps where the recovery will have 0 impact on your chase because they make it to the next pallet anyways or there was no pallet for them to even go to.
You can also make the same arguments for enduing "you recovered faster so they didn't make it to the next pallet"
It also punishes you for tunneling through DS. If you want to win in DBD, you WILL have to eat DS at times and the perk penalizes you even more for getting DS'd
It's a feel good perk but rarely decisive unless the survivors let it be
I thought the reason it was so good on demo is because it effects his shred
-
@KurnDisciple said:
Yeah it's definitely pretty crap. It's completely contingent on survivors feeding you back-to-back-to-back M1s, which basically only happens when you are camping a hook.
Then add in how it is barely noticeable until 5 stacks, so it's basically not a perk until the game is half over and it is a glorified endgame camping perk that STILL might not even net you more than 1 kill
I can't even bring myself to use it on Demo. I would literally rather run Enduring
It's.... literally the best on demo, the one killer that profits so much from using it
-
@Tsulan said:
Actually I'd love to have another test like the bloodlust test, where they took it away for a weekend. To see if killers could play without it.
Sluzzy has kinda a point here. NOED skews the kill rates. Would be nice to see where killers are standing without it.
I mean, I get kills all the time without noed, I've maybe had 2 or 3 trials of trying it and I ditched it fast, not my kind of perk

How do you cleanse a totem that was blessed by a teammate, huh, Mr. Killer? It is simply impossible. Zero counterplay.
All the killer needs do is snuff the totem at last gen and then guard it. These are very high mmr tactics.
I mean, noed doesn't proc on a blessed totem anyways so you're fine if there's one bones left on the map and it's blessed, noed won't activate

@Sluzzy said:
Three times out of the few matches played today I have actually lost due to one perk.
A reminder that NOED is a perk that rewards failure. The survivors did well completing the objective against impossible and unbearable odds only for someone to lose because the game gives the killer a petty kill.
I wouldn't mind this perk if two conditions were true;
1) The survivor objective was much easier to complete.
2) Survivor had a similar perk.
It's not a good feeling to lose when the opponent played poorly but got rewarded for it. When the state of the game incredibly favors the killer, NOED needs a change now.
Yes, let's make gens 30 seconds, just end the game in under 3 minutes
And Sluzzy, the survivors do have a similar perk, it's called Dead Hard

No? I'm sorry if I come off rude, but some people like to be able to see themselves in the game they spend their time and money on. In a game with 30+ diverse characters with extensive lore that's constantly being added to with each tome, why should we not be able to ask for more? I mean, I spend money on it just like everyone else lol. I get you don't understand that, and I don't expect a lot of people to get it either.
Don't get me wrong I'm glad you don't care about the lore and focus on the gameplay and perks. That's totally fine! But I mean, I clearly care about more than just that. And other people do as well.
I mean, I'm not gonna report you for having your own take. You shouldn't get banned for preferring gameplay to lore. But you should at least try to see it from another perspective. Like, I can see it from yours and I respect it. It's just not for me. I care about the gameplay and the perks. I've made many threads in this forum discussing those things.
But I also care about the community. And want to see other members of my community be represented and feel seen, respected, and cared for. Of course you can see that with the love BHVR has given us already. Both in-game and out. But like someone had said earlier, "Horror is a refuge for societal outcasts." So you can't be surprised when people want that replicated in this game. It's like people who find comfort playing chess or card games. Despite how toxic and annoying DBD and the community can be, a lot of people find comfort in the fog and in the community. And a lot of people do read through all of the lore and are invested in it. Yes, I'd love to have a survivor that physically looks like me. (Having to choose between Adam or Jeff is impossible. We need a mixed tall boi with a belly BHVR) But having a survivor that's gone through similar experiences as myself and others is a huge factor when it comes to choosing a main for some people.
Something that means nothing to you (Genres having LGBTQ) actually means a lot to other ppl and a lot to myself.

Y'all this thread was not supposed to rile up negativity stop it. Be calm.
You aren't coming off as rude, I just knew that this is a sensitive subject and it kinda feels like a minefield y'know?
Don't get me wrong, I love you LGBTQ+ people because y'know...you guys are also human beings, and that's all I see, not straight, or gay, or lesbian ect, I see just normal human beings, and you guys are great for speaking your mind
