Ain't no one going to use lightborn every match.. The whole point of being able to see survivor items pregame is to pick your counter perks of they all pick flashlights then you can pick lightborn but the whole scam is they didn't until the countdown nearly reached red so you don't have enough time as a killer to pick lightborn..
I use lightborn every match because you never know when a survivor will get a flashlight from a chest, also this new perk coming in that guarantees a flashlight just stapled lightborn to my loadout forever, lol
-
@BadZilla said:
Literally had a 4 stack with outfits screaming "It's a bully squad" but I already waited 10 minutes to get a match and I didn't feel like waiting for another one so I said I have no option just to go through it.. I was waiting for the usual 4 flash lights but no one did I was suspicious I kept hovering around lightborn just incase but I didn't pick it so literally the counter was going to force them into ready and they quickly picked flashlights so you can't use light born or quit .. And there you go entertain high mmr bully squads running every loop perfectly and every hook was a challenge with the sabo perk and flashlight saves..
It's just unfair to play against 4 good players with flashlights and voice communication ? especially while playing a weak killer I got gen rushed and ended up with 1 kill though all the clicks and tbags.
As a soloQ player it's unfair how much advantage a SWF gets over you while my most survivor games are DC's and survivors suiciding on hook and no one works on gens or saves you or anything. While I play killer it's always the high mmr sabo bully squads game over game.. At this point I'm having a Stockholm syndrome with DBD lol.
Please BHVR the game is not balanced or fair because of SWF at least make it teams of 2 friends max ..
Just never take off lightborn you goober, lol

@dnj510 said:
I've played three matches so far today. I have to agree that there hasn't been much "gen rushing", but a lot of the killer tunneling or camping the basement stairs. That happened in two of those matches. The other match went by normally; The killer got a well deserved 4K w/o tunneling or camping.
Why... would killers leave the basement area if they have someone down there? It's literally free realestate

It depends. If the developers are taking the 50% kill rate across all levels of play (which is the data the developers gave us), then you are right. However, if the developers are breaking the kill rate down by skill-level (which the developers have not given us), then you wouldn't be right.
I would hope the developers break it down by skill level, then make adjustments, but I don't know.
We need to take in everything else, map RNG, what perks Trickster was using, what add ons etc, we can't gather EVERYTHING from one simple table

That lines up with the official data released (which also means you must be high MMR)
They could've used different colors, lol, spine chill and IW are literally the same colors
-
@Malicius said:
Genuine question. When MMR puts you in a match where you aren't even close to the same level as the survivors, what are you supposed to do?
Do you continue to chase while the flashlight click, tbag, etc? Do you just finally down someone and kind of quit and camp them?
I am at a loss. I have never played a game with "MMR" where you get matches where you feel like you can do absolutely nothing to play the game. In a lot of matches, there is no point to continue trying.
... keep trying? Idk, in a game where you're hopelessly outmatched, it's just practice I guess

Yeah, most likely. Again I don’t trust farming killers.
Maybe play the game? I’m not interested in farming matches. They are a long drawn out borefest mixed with possibility of a killer pulling a twist for duh memes.
I mean, my definition of farming is just 2 hook everyone, then go away (it would be alot easier to see the survivors hook states, because I can't remember for the life of me when I'm done chasing this cocky Zarina through autohaven)

Yeah...but this is BHVR, 40 perk changes will just mean number changes, wether good or bad, so meta will definitely stay meta

Am I saying BHVR has to make a Holly based BP code? Of course not. But I'm not not saying it either. So...your move BHVR ;)
Ha, you'll be holding onto that pic for a while, the most they ever seem to give is 100k at a time

You don't have to do anything in particular to get condemned up, it happens passively. So I dont see a reason why "it takes so long" would be an argument here. If you really want to go for condemned kills, there are addons to speed it up, but if they were very reliable, they would easily be OP
Bu...but "it takes too long" is the best argument... it's not effective at all, no where near a threat or a problem for survivors

It is a mori. With no 2-hook-requirement. This shouldnt be happening all the time
I mean, it takes so long already that if you haven't gotten 2 hooked already, you're probably not helping your team by taking protection hits and stuff

so getting a free down is a joke? or passive slowdown for tape jogging?

Survivors being hooked is inevitable. You know this because of bloodlust and anti-loop killers. The game makes certain a survivor goes down regardless of survivor choice.
I did provide a counter, stepping on the boon. But we are not fair and balanced. We are ensuring killers can permanently disable a perk while killer perks like BBQ, POP, Scourge can't be permanently disabled. I know some of these perks might be getting nerfed but I'm sure there are others too. I am naming the popular ones.
I will say, I find it amusing that you think BBQ is a problem

actually in the context of perks it is Most Effective Tools Available.
Camping and tunnelling could be considered Most Effective Tactic Available though
It's the same difference
-
@EvilBarney666 said:
Ok this is an observation I have had for awhile. I love the fact that the meta is going to change. It's so boring to go up against the same thing all the time. For either side.
Here is my problem. There is a reason people run the meta. Killers run things like Corrupt, Scourge Hooks, Ruin, and Pop because the gens tend to go to fast.
Survivors run Dead Hard, BT, Unbreakable etc cause slugging, camping and tunneling exist.
I think what needs to change is the fundamentals of why people need to run those perks or feel they can play the game better or longer with them.
I don't know how they would change that. I am all for a meta shake up as the games tend to be boring on both sides when it's always the same builds.
What are your guys thoughts?
People will always run meta because it's the Most Effective Tactic Available

i have my own idea on how noed should be changed, making it fair and rewarding imo
noed will gain token after hooking a survivor up to 12 token. for every 3 token noed give an added affect such as
3 token gain 100% more bloodpoint in the sacrifices category
6 token gain a 7% haste for 60 seconds after hooking a survivor
9 token survivors suffer from the exposed status affect for 30 second after hooking a survivor
12 token gain 100% bonus bloodpoints in all catagories
I'd run this every game, wow

I mean... 5 gens popping is literally completing the objective, killers can get noed while standing still the entire game, I don't think NOED should be nerfed but lets not pretend their conditions for getting them are even close to the same.
Yeah, but if you popped all 5 gens, you clearly don't need any help and don't need the adrenaline boost
-
@Tsulan said:
Tbh, who can blame killers for not wanting to play killer? Survivors trash talk and haunt them on their profiles. To tell them what terrible human beings they are, for daring to play killer. Or they tell them to uninstall and play minecraft.

It doesn't work like that. It punishes survivors for ignoring totem, but also rewards killer for literally nothing. Losing match is no real reason to just get free exposed on everyone.
Then making the 5th gen pop is no reason to get an adrenaline boost, you're already winning

Actually true, I ran empathy for a while, and the amount of intel I got to know from it was really nice, knowing whose injured, along with where the killer is whenever he progresses the game is very nice

Imagine that you are finally going to get some boil over vaule when suddenly the killer drops you. Worse yet, you see another survivor make a good sabotage play, then the killer drops you. The killer is able to maintain pressure in the game despite his bad play. Now teammates have to go find you and heal you. This is an unfair mechanic that should be removed.
Wait, you're able to drop your survivors when they are past like 75%? I'm always spamming O on the PlayStation and it never drops them and then they escape

Exactly, Thana's consistency in such an inconsistent game is what makes it so good.
Especially when almost every other slowdown can be waited out/ countered, with thana, the counter for it takes an extra 16 seconds for each survivor, which buys you alot of time (considering COH isn't in play, lol)
-
@JonahsTablet said:
Thanatophobia, it's such a great perk on insta down killers (except for Oni).
Honestly, even on my doc loadout, thanato is a stable, it's such a consistent slowdown if you can apply the proper pressure and you know where to hit

I think The Dredge is pretty strong. He has great map traversal and he has a pretty decent chase power. His passive ability is a bit lacking, but it does something at least. He has great perk synergy since he's an M1 killer and he has good mobility.
As far as I know. He doesn't have any insane Mechanics or Techs like Blight and Nurse. That's also the reason why I put them in SS and not S.
Honestly, I might overestimate him, but for now, I think he's pretty damn great. Great Job BHVR!

First can I say I didn't realize META stood for "Most Effective Tools Available"? Lol if I didn't see than in the stream I wouldn't have known that lol
Im not really hoping for nerfs per se, but I would love some perks to become base kit in some manner (I.e. Corrupt, BT) and then the perks themselves can stack on top of these. Say corrupt base is 60s, but then Corrupt perk adds another 90s. Corrupt by itself is weaker, but the base kit adds another 30s overall. So it takes up a perk slot but adds more overall time. Some killers I only have tier 1 (RNG) but it still works as it'll give me time to set up with Trapper
I would love to see changes to Lightborn. An added exposure aspect for the person attempting to blind will be interesting.
On survivor side, I think they need more shake up. Since I started playing in 2020, killer meta shifts with new combos (Ruin/Undying, Scourge: Pain + DMS,. PGTW + Oppression, Hoarder + Cenobite, etc.). Other than Boons, Boil Over and a few others not much has changed. I've been having fun with stun/blind build (Head On, Flashbang, Parental Guidance, DS), but the meta perks are still strong (DS, UB, DH, BT, IW)
I'm 99% sure instead of tools it's tactics, but I guess they could mean the same thing

If you allow survivors to evaluate each others perks in the Lobby, I am extremely confident it's only going to be a matter of "Are these survivors meta enough to play with me." And a dodge will happen every time that answer is no.
I completely agree, it will happen obviously, not everyone likes going full meta, but some perks just shouldn't be used, like alert is a good perk, urban is meh, and self care... just run bond at least, that way you probably spend less time and you get intel for the whole game

Not sure if you were around, but at some point you were able to see ranks in the lobby, I used to dodge people who werent in red ranks too. People will always dodge things if they know they are there, that's why they arent shown.
Yeah, I was, but I didn't care enough to dodge them, lol, just grateful I got a game at that point

Serious players should not be punished for going off-meta. I know the example was made with Self-care, which I get the disdain, but I wouldn't want to be punished for running Alert - which I find to be a fantastic gym looping/immersion perk - just because the other survivors aren't creative enough to understand how I would use it.
I mean, I specifically meant self care and urban, I personally think they both take up to much time even though yeah urban is walking speed, but like...you can run if the killer doesn't have a TR and he's not a stealth killer
-
@Marigoria said:

First game someone gets hooked and then unhooked the killer tunnels her and she disconnects and 20 seconds later the next survivor gets downed and disconnects.. The 3rd survivor gives up and and stops for killer to die but no killer is greedy and slugs her then scans the whole map for me so I don't get hatch like only 1 gen done and killers are greeding to get 4k? even 2 survivors disconnected and 1 gave up?
Second game is even worst a different killer same ######### someone gets hooked and unhooked and the killer is tunneling her off hook like the first game and she disconnects the I get hooked and unhooked and same thing killer is coming to tunnel me and I'm dead and imagine writing ez in post game chat when survivors are disconnecting ??
Your whole 4 min system is a joke everyone is disconnecting every goddamn game for the tiniest inconvenience and when 1 survivor leaves then it's so difficult to do any more gens. SoloQ is hell no one is doing gens no one helps you when you get hooked and everyone disconnects often and it triggers chain effect of other disconnects .. What's my fault in all of this? killers are scummy tunneling and face camping everyone even after dc's . If swf players are toxic and god like then killers are victims but not at all try playing high mmr soloQ it's only tunnel this face camp that slug here slug there ... Do something to punish everyone that disconnects and ruins games a 4 min penalty doesn't scare anyone and it doesn't ramp up that quickly.
Secondly I hope the new perks and updates announced will address these scummy playstyles it's 0 fun to spend the whole game face camped and tunneled.
DBD is unfair and miserable for soloQ survivors.
Update : 4th game so far and every killer I went against tunneled anyone that got unhooked.. and another 1 dc because he slugged. I just can't ... wow I don't want to play either role anymore yikes I'll take a break.
That's a teammates problem, not a killer problem

It's really not difficult to hit 4 people, even spread out on a small map (please note I already said large maps don't apply to this). Legion also gets a speed increase after each hit. AND can hit the same person after they mend. Again, it is really not hard to do.
Happened to me twice on Haddonfield, and another on Saloon.
So what? Three times in 2 matches? I honestly don't think that falls under the category of "not hard to do"

Except when he is on the 4th hit and insta downs you, regardless of health state.
I think if they just removed this unnecessary addition, survivors wouldn't mind it as much. Not a big deal on huge maps but small maps it happens often.
I find Legion OK when you compare to Nurse/Blight but his playstyle is really boring. Deep wounds is non-gameplay.
If you're team is THAT grouped up together, something is wrong and you deserve that down

Of course survivors complain about killer perks. However, killers have had meta changing perks almost every killer release and even though survivors complain about them, nothing gets changed about them.
Survivors have not had any meta changing perks for 4 years, except for CoH and Boil Over, both of which have been nerfed over and over again because Killers have complained about the extensively.
The developers listen and respond to killer complaints but don't to survivor complaints. Least I point you to Face-Camping and Tunneling-off-hook-till-dead, that has been in the game since the start.
Boil over and COH got nerfed because the devs don't know how to balance perks, can you tell me that 100% healing bonus was a good idea? Or that added 100% wiggle bonus and that rediculous height progression (can't remember the proper number atm) was a good idea? Of course the perks got a nerf

It will never happen. Killer-mains will have aneurisms and survivors won't have anyone to go against because all the killer-mains are dead.
Can you image the uproar on these boards when 10 completely new survivor perks with the power of Dead Hard, Decisive Strike, Borrowed Time, Circle of Healing, etc etc. suddenly appear for survivors. It won't matter that 10 meta perks were nerfed for survivors, it will only matter than 10 new perks as powerful as the current Meta perks appear. The developers should understand that survivor-players cannot have good perks or Killer-mains will flip out.
The only perks that are allowed for survivors are bad perks.
Yeah, cause survivors NEVER complain about how strong killer perks are

-
@Sumnox said:
Don't you realise it's both? Why do you think those survivors play the way they play? And of course the killer who plays against them will also camp, tunnel and be generally toxic in return.
Who was first? egg/chicken scenario. We don't know who started it, probably back in 2016 because survivors were by far the power role (not anymore) they were the ones who made it their fun to ridicule the killer, especially SWF. From there, killers got more and more toxic as well, and the snowball effect started.
If I had to guess, it was SWF that started the cycle, and this is what we have now in 2022.
But it's not survivors lately. it's both.
Solo q isn't the power role, SWFs are, so that in turn means that yes, survivors are still the power role, and anyone who says otherwise is just trying to not get survivors nerfed
-
@Mewishis said:
It genuinely seems like there are no nice survivors anymore it's all toxic survivors left it's just disheartening because they are more toxic than I have ever seen before like it's all bming swf when you're a low-tier killer. When you play fair you get bmed, when you play a killer they don't like you get bmed, there is literally no winning anymore.
Like how can survivors' mains expect killers to not play as ruthless as possible when literally all killers that play up to their standards still get bmed. I'm beginning to think the actually nice ones left the game because I don't get any of the interactions I used to have.
And what would you consider a nice survivor? Because running the killer for 1 minute isn't toxic, it's just playing the game
