Dead hard nerf suggestions are predominantly about taking away features from dead hard to render it weaker. So I suggest, rather then blatantly taking away something, instead add to take away.

Dead hard's intended use is for dodging the Killer's attacks, but in higher level play gets used as a safe way to extend the duration of loops that can't be prevented without the use of a Killer's power. This means that M1 Killers that are already on the weaker end have no means to stop dead hard from extending the use of a pallet.

    The suggestion of "bone-tired"

Upon using dead hard you now gain a effect called "bone-tired" this effect will prevent survivors from dropping pallets or using a vault from anywhere between 1 second to 3 seconds after dead hard is used. This would help to prevent survivors from using dead hard for distance in a definite way to drop a pallet or vault a window against a basic M1 Killer, while still being useful for dodging Basic attacks or against strong Killers like Blight or Nurse who aren't as bothered by loops as M1 killers are.

The amount of time "Bone-tired" lasts is very important

If the bone-tired effect is too short then survivors can do the same thing they did before to reach a pallet just earlier. If the bone-tired effect is too long then dead hard wouldn't be good for even its intended propose as you wouldn't be able to follow dead hard up with anything.

    The potential pros "Bone-tired"

    -Indirectly making M1 Killers stronger

-Nurse would barely, if at all benefit from it

-Making dead hard used for its more intended role as a dodge perk

    The potential cons of "Bone-tired"

-Making dead hard rarely if bone-tired's duration is too long

-Dead hard could still used for distance if done earlier albeit at the cost of safety

A additional Tweak to "Bone-tried" without increasing the duration

Adding a 5% hindrance to bone-tired but making it have a shorter duration could help it be better at preventing dead hard for being used to gain distance

    Personal Opinion

I don't know how much better this could be then other ideas at making dead hard weaker without making it useless. But I think its a better and more interesting idea then taking away dead hard's distance or invincibly frames. Plus just dead harding earlier in a loop kind of prevents bone-tired to a extent.

This was everyone's first idea from what I get from this post, adding a delay to dropping pallets, I personally think it is the best way to go about keeping it valuable and balanced

I've been playing since nearly the beginning. I have just about everything I want unlocked except for things that have not appeared in the shrine yet.

I have ~3.7M bloodpoints thanks to some login events that raised my points after I got a +2M point reward for getting Survivor and killer to Rank 1 in either Jan or Feb. I have another million or so stored in old tomes waiting to be collected - if I can be bothered to collect.

I have nothing I really want to spend points on so I have shelved the game until "cake season". The BP cap is preventing me from playing the game. I cant get points so why should I play? Why should I spend my points because I don't need any more "normal" unlocks. I have shards to by whatever I want and I always get more than I spend when I do play the game (sitting on ~42,000). I still have hundreds of cakes left over from last year on Nemesis so it isn't even about that either.

If you can normally hold 1M points and you can get seasonal rewards for +2M points it stands to reason the bloodpoint cap should be 3M points. People who want to power level the new killer are going to do that.

Your decisions as a developer are keeping me from playing this game. You really don't need a +1 reason for people to not play DBD. If we look at the old steam charts we can notice that 20,000 people decided not to play DBD this year.

You can't edit your Bloodpoint total with notepad anymore (yes this was a thing that some people did in 2016). Is it not time to raise the cap? Cheaters will likely find some way to cheat anyway - all you're really doing is keeping honest people from enjoying the ability to store points.

Would it really be so terrible if someone could store 3M points without bonuses? Oh no you could almost store an entire prestige /gasp. The world would end.

    Maybe... you're slightly addicted, lol

  • @Name_Unavailable said:

Then nerf anti-loop killers too. Would you agree? Asking to nerf DH when we have Nurse, Spirit, Blight, Artist, Nemesis. etc... Is not fair.

Also spoiler alert: After making DH useless, You all will complain about that everyone is using Spirt Burst.

SB is far less powerful than DH, the only people who will complain are people who like complaining, every other killer will be celebrating

  • @DrBrain said:

Its fundamentally the two biggest bullcrap perks to exist in this game. 2nd chance perks should just be nerfed at this point. The idea that you as a Killer can play completely correctly and all it takes is some guy to conveniently dead hard or DS you to Change a game from a 4k to everyone escaping. Why isnt Decisive Strike in Exhaustion? Why is the time limit a minute long? Why is dead hard invulnerability frames such an extreme length. This trade off is unbearable.

the meta perks have been the same 6(now 8 due to boons and gen speeds for survivors being insane) for years. Its time to rotate out these horribly deigned perks completely and let some not-so-used perks become the new meta for awhile. This is just a bad choice by the developers to continue to allow 2nd Chance Perks to be the factor to an entire match. Its infuriating at this point.

Imagine complaining about new DS when you've had to deal with it for...3 years is it?

Its not easily in solo q because you don't know what type of teammate you will get

If your team doesn't finish gens by the time bloodlust tier 3 is achieved like 3 times, then that's a team problem, not a bloodlust problem

  • @Ronaldo said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2951610#Comment_2951610

Yea you have a point but i think atleast t3 needs to be gone. that is literally no matter how good you are he is gonna catch you so i don't think that should be in the game

That's progressing the game, making the killer get something, and like the other guy said, you just bought 45 seconds, run him again and boom, all gens done and game over

  • @pseudechis said:

Then we could hand free dc’s too, maybe let the survivors know what the killer is and their build in the lobby so people could just dodge every lobby they didn’t like till they got a killer they did.

I know let the survivors choose the killer and their perks for them then they can always have what they want.

I think the forums should have complex math or word problems to solve before you get to post to weed out the stupid.

(yes this is snide and mean but seriously have you read half the crap on these forums)

Survivors see my build of B&C, hangman's, lightborn, and thanato "what the...." Lol

All I do is equip Small Game and boom easy peasy. I usually find them after starting on a Gen or just hiding from the Killer.

I came back to try out the new Legion (since its my main Killer) and I got bodied...

Didnt matter that I had Thanatophobia to slow the game down or Tricksters Exit blocking perk to stop them from escaping, still managed to get looped around, body blocked, borrow time and dead hard clutches everywhere and god forbid the amount of pallets there are...

There is a clear balancing issue between Killers and Survivors, clearly!

Every top mmr Killer is complaining how frustrating the games can be if Survivors know what they are doing and where all the pallets are and windows and what makes its 10 times more frustrating is when they are SWF and are on voice...

I have yet to see or hear from a high mmr survivor complain how frustrating it is for them as a Survivor.

Laughing, giggling and throwing jokes around while tbagging the Killer every chance they get.

Also remember that when ever you run out of pallets or are far away from windows, just hold W until you reach the corner of the bloody map.

Pair that up with a couple hook distance offerings and you wont get a hook...

That's when you slug everyone if they don't let you get hooks, make them regret it

No, I win alot with your pfp none the less, you just gotta pick a killer that you want to practice with

  • @ezmindgames said:

Nice i get 1 hook and 3 gens already done, i camp and get body blocked by all 3 people, Hex ruin gone in first minute of game, endgame = 2 hooks and 4 escapes. Nothing wrong with killer i should just get better playing against survivors who are probably rank 1 while im still ASH 3

?????? Survivors have been continually nerfed over time and killer has never been easier outside of CoH. Were you not around for old DS, old MoM, pre-rework maps and instaheals?

Yeah... everything started off broken for survivors, you can not tell me old MoM was balanced, or old COH, or old DS, the problem is they start out busted, then they balance it, then people think it's a nerf when it's now in a good spot (except new MoM I guess...kinda butchered that one)

Soloque is hell. You have teammates unhooking you, even if you dont want, cause you get tunneled out.

It wouldnt be so much of a problem if surivors get a tunneling and camping bonus, so they atleast get on 15k bp. Its frustrating to wait out for a match, wait for the loading screen and then camped out.

The strategy itself is okay, if you wouldnt loose a pip and so much bloodpoints. That frustrates.

You get survivors that unhook you? Lucky, I get the ones that are completely blind apparently even when I run kindred and the killer is on the other side of the map chasing someone else, and no ruin in play so there was no reason for them to stay on the gen.

Add-on less? Sure. Killer-belonging tracking tacked on? Definitely not.

I've always been curious, what is considered "killer belongings" because I always thought it was just for trappers traps and hags trap, can it give more value?

  • @SwampDaddy said:

Why have the devs not addressed this issue. I get that flashlights are part of the game. But flashlights need a cooldown. I’m honestly sick and tired of being blinded several times in a row within seconds. Most of the time I don’t even get a chance to look up or away, leaving me rigged for blinding, which isn’t fair. Survivors know this and they exploit it by blinding a killer in quick succession and it’s honestly frustrating. It can be quite toxic sometimes.

Every single one. Huntresses, nurses, Trapper, Hag, all of them camping from 1st hook and then tunneling that hooked player if they can.

    Every. Single. Game.

This is one aspect of DBD that needs attention. How a killer can create a downright toxic and horrible experience for a particular player in a match, by camping and tunneling. Intentionally ignoring everyone else, walking around them, to keep tunneling. Even if a teammate stands in front of the killer to try and help, the killer runs around the teammate to keep tunneling. Hooks, then camps again.

This sort of thing needs immediate attention to be fixed.

Did something happen in the past couple weeks I don't know about?

Funny, I get the opposite all the time, whenever I try to go around the unhooked survivor, they just sooooo badly wanna get hit to use their BT, I'm sorry, but if you pull that stuff on me, you clearly wanted my attention, and instead of running the other way, you're back in a chase because of your own doing

Camping, hardcore tunneling, smacking on the hook and nodding.

Leaving people on the ground to bleed out.

Seems killers are finally realizing the game isn't as survivor sided as they thought because they're finally trying and not crying about getting free wins.

    They still complain though 🤔

The real question is, why are killer perks still hidden until the end of a match?

I know why they did it don't get me wrong. However if I'm playing solo I'd like to see what I was up against when I get tunneled out of a game in less then 2 minutes and not have to wait till the end.

Also as a survivor I can call about 3 of the 4 perks in game anyway so I don't think it's really a big deal to keep them hidden anymore.

Would you know about my hangman's trick and lightborn I was running, no, didn't think so, lol

I haven't been playing DBD as long as some others here, but since owning the game and playing Killer (a few months), I wonder something.

I'm wondering why as a killer I can't see the survivor's hook stages.

As a survivor, I can see how many times my team has been hooked, but not as a killer.

Can you please enlighten me. What are the reasons for that ?

The only reason I can think of is that seeing the hook stages might encourage the killer to tunnel.

But that's what killers do anyway.

I find it really frustrating sometimes when, for example, I have the goal of hooking every survivor twice and don't want to kill anyone beforehand, but then get confused and accidentally kill someone just because so much is happening in the match and I've therefore forgotten which survivor already was on the hook and how many times they were on the hook.

Or if, in rare cases, you play a farming match with survivorn to relax a bit in between, and then at some point I am afraid to hook someone because I could accidentally kill the person.

I would really like to know why only one site is allowed to see the hook stages and what other killers think about it.

Would you like to see it or not ?

Yes, that’s why I said “might” be. I know people here don’t really have faith in BHVR but the devs aren’t stupid. BT base kit will obviously embolden survivors more, but I’m confident BHVR knows that and might give killers something(s) in return. We’ll just have to see.

People need to quit caring, this is a game and people shouldn't get their feelings tied up so heavy in a game they refuse to run certain things and play certain ways to be "fair", life isn't fair and neither is DBD, this game is here for your enjoyment and the real problem is when people lose they blame everything under the sun instead of sucking it up and moving on to the next trial. I'll BM in match and then be nice as can be in the endgame chat because it's a game and win or lose I'm not letting people get under my skin.

I disagree with that. Honestly it is super rare to get BM'd in an FPS game.

Like I think in thousands of Apex Legends games I got BM'd literally once, maybe twice?

Rust I was barely BM'd. Call of duty I was usually in party chat and there was basically no BM, nobody has time to teabag in those games.

    Starcraft 2 I was never BM'd once. BF 2042 I was never BM'd once.

League I would say was the closest in terms of toxicity but even then it was typically your own team raging and not the opponents, which I still consider less toxic than DBD because that happens in your own team chat and is not usually broadcast as BM to the opposing team

DBD is like the only game I can think of where you explicitly can have toooons of time to BM and the lobbies are small enough the opponent can really take it personally. And the BM is like, constant. It's gotta be the most toxic game I can think of

Overwatch would like a word with you, lol
