The point of The Killer is to create the experience that you’re up against a specific monster. In the case with the Nurse you experience what’s it’s like to deal with a “real” ghost. Appealing to the fickle multiplayer experience is always second. So no there won’t be any “fairness” against any “real” ghost. 😂

You don’t face nurses every day. On top of that you don’t face really good nurses every day. When you face a Nurse we either escape because the player is laughably bad, or we all die swiftly because the player is insanely good. People just wanna win more against the best ones as to brag.

...no one thinks like that, they want multiplayer balance, just because you RARELY see nurse doesn't mean she can't be balanced

  • @Thunderfrog said:

...the more they stay the same.

I left the game for quite some time due to some seasonal work. When I left, for reference, The Artist was just released.

-Dead Hard was OP / Useless depending on skill and who you ask.

-Survivors had it too easy with amazing perks and killers were always being nerfed.

-Killers had it too easy with camping / tunneling and survivors were always being nerfed.

-No one used keys anymore because bE made them useless.

-The new killer was unfair / trash tier.

    ----------------------

    Now that I've returned ..

-Dead Hard is about to be nerfed into being useless/ not be nerfed enough depending on who you ask.

    -Survivors have it too easy.

-Killers are always camping / tunneling.

    -No one uses Keys.

-The new killer is OP as hell.

I guess there's some slight movement forward? Anyways, I'm still catching up to all the changes. What's the number 1 thing that I used to know that's now wrong? Remember, I left when Artist dropped.

Also, plz buff Sadako. Best girl is useless/trash tier.

Dredge? Op? Sure he's different, definitely B+ tier, but he's not busted, just a fun and decent killer actually

Hey, at least we have fixated or whatever it is called now. Didn't run that combo in a while damn.

That's because thats 2 perks dedicated to...idk, walking? So many more perks to run

  • SB doesn't need a nerf, it's perfectly balanced in that it forces the survivor to walk everywhere

  • @Audiophile said:

It defies logic. They could play a non-toxic game and earn double or triple what they do when camping but they choose toxicity instead. It just goes to show how large a portion of the community just plays to be toxic and cruel. I just don't get the mindset of people that take pleasure out of others’ pain. But no one can deny that many killers have this weird tendency to ‘roleplay’ as killer so that they can’t be sportsmanlike while playing killer… they have to be ‘evil’ on the meta level and try to hurt the actual players. Until the devs actually start punishing toxic behavior this will persist. It would be easy to punish camping and tunnelling more but they choose not to. And they could let survivors at least leave these toxic situations by surrendering in some way but instead we get penalized for DC’ing. I don’t know… this game is amazing when it’s played right but seriously, seriously awful when played with toxicity. I hope I didn’t break any forum rules by stating what I think is the truth here. If I did, I guess I’ll find out… Good luck enjoying the event everyone…

Nothing is toxic except the endgame chat...gosh I feel like I should just copy paste that sentence soon, you guys can't really grasp the concept

  • @malloymk said:

The two killer games I've gone up against. Basement trapper and starstruck nurse. Both pretty much left about 20 meters from the hook at most.

    In short. Fuckouttahere.

Ok, basement trapper...why would you go anywhere else, how often does this happen for trapper? If the survivors know where the basement is? None at all, it's a great time, gets the funny dopamine juice going

Ive seen so many posts here calling out killers for tryharding but honestly any time im obviously being friendly in this event i get a group of moon walking tea bagging flashlight spamming tryhards emboldened because im trying to relax. Its happened way too many times. From now on in this event if i see a flashlight in your hand im tunneling you the entire game. I dont care if everyone else escapes but you.

Maybe I'm using the flashlight to get one of my teammates attention...

I wouldn't mind this change. Because solo Q teammates have sometimes the great idea to run unhooking me without BT while they're chased by the Killer... (Fortunatelly, they don't all do that.)

Oh trust me I understand... though I probably put a bit too much trust in my teammates because I don't run DS, so I'm always at the mercy of idiots, lol

  • @EntitySpawn said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3004558#Comment_3004558

Well they clearly arent going to buff DS, corrupt, Pain etc. Are they... so if it's not a buff it's a nerf..

I mean, maybe ds will get the buff we wanted, activates on both hook states, in exchange for something like deactivates in the endgame, just bouncing ideas around

  • @TheArbiter said:

Surprised DS is getting changed. It was absolutely busted before, but after it's nerf I think it's in a good spot. Prevents direct tunneling, and if the killer gets hit by DS now at 60 seconds, you know that the survivor was doing NOTHING for 60 seconds. I'm just a little bit concerned now that if this perk gets nerfed, tunneling might get much worse.

Maybe it's the buff we all wanted, being able to use it for both hook states

  • @EntitySpawn said:

With the image showing the perks the devs are focusing on this makes ma a little concerned.

    So example:

DS, a wonderful perk to counter being tunneled or farmed by your team. Not a massively strong perk and encourages a good game health imo, not to mention you dont get to use it every game.

Pain ren: a okay gen regression perk, rewards killers for getting a hook by providing a small % regression. But has limitations to Scourage hooks which you cant always make let alone only removing 12seconds of a single solo gen.

WGLF/BBQ, perks that are mainly only used because of the grind and people want more BP. While you can get use from the perks other effects the BP is all we care about.

Corrupt? Fixes early game issue of people spawning on gen all over the map.

I feel like so many of these perks that are used alot arent even massively strong but more fixes to base game issues to make a more enjoyable experience

    40 reworks != 40 nerfs

  • @bm33 said:

As killer I let the No Mithers go (well I let everyone go) and then in end game I would see they were running a full perk load out. I think some are running No Mither right now in hopes killers will just let them go thinking they're doing the challenge. 😂

I was playing Doctor while I got my masks yesterday. Was just shocking, hitting, kicking gens, and opening doors when they were powered. Didn't even hook anyone, just had them wiggle free if I downed them or grabbed them from a locker. Didn't want anyone to get left to die on first hook.

I don't think you have to worry about the survivors dying on first hook, just get to the other side of the map as fast as possible, survivors like bp, and that's all they're thinking about, lol

Lol getting vacuumed to the other side is always a ######### moment for me.

The pallet was between two boulders. The Survivor was crouched behind the first one. The Killer was walking past the pallet (so parallel to the boulders and pallet). The Survivor panicked and popped up to throw the pallet, but the Killer was already past the pallet and almost past the second boulder (even if the Killer had been in front of the pallet, they wouldn't have gotten stunned. Too far away).

The Killer stopped, turned around, and well . . . it didn't end well. Three people were alive, with the last gen at 98%. We all died. And that's my sad story.

Ha, I finally extracted it out of you, all it took was the trauma of pallet RNG, lol

Ironic how killers have a different hook counter to "prevent tunneling" when tunneling killers actually remember who they hooked. Thus creating a situation where 2 hook killers accidentally kill.

Well I mean, I feel like if you're tunneling, you only need to focus on 1 survivors hook states, where as in 2 hook case, you gotta keep track of all 4

  • It's still 50k, who wouldn't take that when that match was that short?

  • @amazing_grace said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3000224#Comment_3000224

Yeah, this feeling really hits home. I play soloq survivor mostly and I can tell when I have good teammates, but when I witness the smallest mistake (a mistake that I totally understand happening) cost the game it just feels bad, and not even in a rage/angry way. It literally just feels like watching a balloon deflate and fly around the room.

The other night I was playing a game against a trapper and I witnessed him set up a trap at the exit gate, so I was going to disarm it and open the gate when he was occupied in chase, but nope. I got vacuumed into the trap because instead of holding m1 to disarm, i hit m1 to open gate... I died because of that. Just a moment where it's like, feels bad man.

It happens to me as killer sometimes too, auto aim focusses on the hooked survivor instead of the unhooker or i get grabbed cancelled with neither the grab nor the hit. Literally have had this happen where they finished the gen because of that or got the unhook and escape. Big sad.

Ok, that would explain why everytime I put a trap at the gate switch survivors might get hooked by it, I'm always thinking "how did you not see that?" Lol

  • @AshInTheTallGrass said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3000228#Comment_3000228

    I . . . it's. . . it's just too painful 😖

But I'll say it involved a very important pallet being thrown when the Killer wasn't even looking. And the last gen was right next to it and it was 98% done. And I was hooked. And the other teammate was injured, across the map, and dead on hook. And the other . . . ugh, I can't continue. Find me a fainting couch, please. I feel the room spinning beneath my feet.

I had one of those times where I would drop a pallet and apparently it registered I was on the side of the killer, so the killer probably saw a survivor just sit at a pallet as he was coming towards it and got downed

Where as I SAW prime positioning for a head smash, lol

  • @LegendaryPain said:

Don't listen to these jokers, you have to actually kick 30,000,000 generators! Get to work killeroid >:)

  • @Mozic said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3002057#Comment_3002057

You know, that's a good question. The real answer is that the activation condition (must m1 the obsession) and duration are overall a little limiting, and to get real value out of it you have to then disengage from the obsession and find someone else to ambush - but it sure does confuse the heck out of survivors

Especially with... I think calm is the fake TR right? I should know this, docs the only person I level up, lol... and does DD work for fake TR, if so I don't care how much value I get from it, it'll be my next lightborn, you never know when you'll need it

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I agree, the event is beautiful. I just have one major concern about the survivor unlock condition. If it's as it says that you "have to survive until the exit gates are open" this causes problems. The major one is entitlement. For example in closed hatch scenarios survivors will be toxic to killers for not letting them open the gate. 2nd one is that escaping through the hatch wouldn't even unlock the item, last year it did, so this makes it harder. 3rd one is that people will be less keen to 99 the gates and open it instead and this opens up Blood Warden plays. Some might like that but this would be extremely frustrating to play against now.

That detail feels like it has malicious intent behind it, but otherwise, it's a nice event.

About your 3rd point, not trying to be mean, but I think the only people that runs blood warden are me and John sitting in the corner over there, lol

I've let teams go when I've had six hooks before because my goldfish memory has already forgotten who is on a death hook and who is fine to hook and I'm so worried I'll death hook someone that I just let my own points burn to make sure I don't accidentally kill someone 😅

If you were to sub Nemesis out I'd recommend something that interacts with your terror radius to either expand it further or give it more oomph: Starstruck, Overwhelming Presence, Septic Touch, Dissolution, or Agitation - but keep in mind you're trading control for flourish here and it's already very meme and not so much in terms of being actually all that valuable.

And yes! If you static blast under the effect of dark devotion, the source of the blast will be your obsession, not you - ditto for every other terror radius-affected perk!

Ok, why have I not been running DD more than? That sounds legit awesome

  • Yeah I guess but see...are those the only two options because it's not the...best, kinda especially on doc if I lose the survivor and I need to static blast (yes, sadly sometimes I'm that blind, lol)

  • @tippy2k2 said:

Unless a survivor is a jerkface to me (and at least one of them gives me a tasty treat), I try to just 8 hook the team and let them go.

Although I don't always remember who I hooked so I apologize in advance if I oopsy and death hook someone 😅

Literally, I'll sit there for a solid 30 seconds asking myself "is this their death hook? I don't wanna be a jerk" lol

Doc's already got the famous impossible skill check builds with stuff like Merciless Storm + Unnerving Presence + Hex: Huntress Lullaby + Distressing / Overcharge

Stacking both Doctor iridescents is a great way to make everything super manic thanks to all of the stacking passives.

But something truly unique and absurd for the doc? Try this:

Doctor | Dark Devotion, Distressing, Nemesis, Infectious Fright + Order - Carter's Notes & Calm - Carter's Notes

Infectious Fright, Distressing, and Doctor's Static Blast affects those in your terror radius. Dark Devotion lets your terror radius take a little field trip. Hit the obsession, let them run off, and boom! Nemesis to help give you a little control over who your obsession is, so you can find some value out of this kit without having to track down a specific survivor.

Ah, got it, I believe I have all of them but nemesis actually, got any other suggestions?

Also, if I static blast when someone was hit with dark devotion, does it effect everyone around that survivor or just the 32 meters around me?

  • @TatsuiChiyo said:

Damn Sluzzy, getting slow in your age? Hour and a half late for your regularly scheduled troll posts

This is a casual warning to not play survivor during the event. Killers are sweating profusely during event even when 5 event offerings are using. The first two matches I played were against Onis and they would hook, pretend to leave, and then come right back and tunneled people off the hook. Also slugged everyone.

Killers are not punished for this. It is very easy to do this and they still get 30K+ while survivors all get less than 10K.

Dear BHVR, balance your game and make it a level playing field so both survivors and killers have equal chances of winning and getting equal amount of bloodpoints. One person shouldn't have the ability to deny bloodpoints to 4 others.

Well, if you got 10k, multiply that by 5 and you just got 50k for a match that lasted 2 minutes

  • @SleepyWillo said:

If past events count then the data pool is significantly larger and proves the same thing.

When given the opportunity, this community will be as toxic as possible to each other. This is especially true during events where everyone stands to gain more. One side just wants to make sure the other side suffers...

And from what I've seen in this event so far the majority of toxicity during this event is coming from the killer side. I have more than 4 games for this event and its still holding true. How many games would you like for the data pool?

Riiggghhhttt, so those toxic SWF just don't exist apparently huh? Interesting

  • @Mozic said:

Oh now this is a movement I can get behind.

Here's what I'll bring to the table:

Trapper | Padded Jaws + Bloody Coil (Traps are harmless if stepped on, harmful if disarmed)

Pyramid Head (Or any killer, I just prefer Pyramid Head) | Endurance, Spirit Fury, Rancor, Nemesis (Those who bonk, die)

Deathslinger | Bayshore's Cigar + Chewing Tobacco (Stunning from a broken chain becomes a shorter cooldown than performing an m1)

I'll get concocting on more bizarre stuff to bring to the table!

Can you do one for doc? Ik he's trash so he might not need anything extra, but if you could, much appreciated, lol

How many games do you expect me to have since the event just started?

Its enough for me to not use any event offering during the rest of the event on survivor anyway

Then maybe give it more time? Not everyone in dbd is toxic, jeez, imagine gathering data off of 4 games, 16 different people and saying they're the majority and that's how their games dictate how everyone else plays

    Bwahaha. Good Joke.

The number of Insidious Bubbas I encounter during Events is way higher than normally. Some Killer players just play the game during events to be annoying for the other side. And get a big BP-Bonus due to the Event Offerings.

Just like how survivors go out of their way just to annoy the killers? This goes both ways y'know

  • @Vampwire said:

His anti-loop really makes no sense. You charge the shock, hit them, they're paralysed for 2.5 seconds but then you also slow down enough that you can't really make it to them in time. I've tried multiple strategies to make the shocks work. I've tried to not spam shock and time it right. Doesn't really work. Spam shocks just slow you down and do nothing. These were all on pretty standard loops I should add.

Every-time I would do this, I'd be just far away enough to miss. And it seemed like the only way to really utilize his power was when survivors were greedy and I was already on their ass. It's just so counter intuitive.

The delay as well is weird. I understand why it exists. It makes it so you cant just instant shock when they reach the pallet. But I also feel that's the way it should be. You already have to charge it. I wouldn't entirely remove it but it should be a bit faster.

Static blast also sucks. You have to do it like 3 times to put someone in tier 3. But the cool-down is a minute. Sure, it's good for finding survivors and potentially delaying the game. But Legion does the same in just a couple of seconds, with the potential to get a down from it. As well with not having to wait so long.

I love the idea of his character and his design. I just can't take him seriously. If anything he's a nuisance. And playing him feels like a waste of time. I wish he was the intimidating mad man he is in the lore.

I love doc, I do decent enough with him, you will eventually learn the timing, all in good practice

As a Killer Main, I really like to hit the unhooked guy every time (!). If there is no BT, wonderful, one guy on the ground who cannot progressing gens, if there is BT, not wonderful, but still fine, because he needs time to mend AND i receive a stack to my favourite perk, STBFL.

So all fine with BT or Bodyblock-BT.

Unless that survivor was the obsession, lol

  • @H2H said:

It always makes me laugh when someone who does a BT bodyblock complains about tunneling in the endgame chat. Like, YOU ran at ME!

If anything, they are tunneling the killer, lol

  • @Mazoobi said:

This is probably a hot take, but I don't think body blocking with BT is a wrong thing.

I can see why killers are annoyed with it, but isn't teamwork asked from the community? BT is one of the best perks for this because it gives a unique effect that isn't an "increase X effect".

If I'm a survivor and I notice the killer is hard camping every hook and always there when the unhook happens, I'm not going to let you get a free hook again because you wanted to sit next to me for the past 40 seconds.

It's the smartest move from the survivors in that situation because it minimizes the lethality that the killer can do. Hell, if players are exposed in any way, body blocking with BT is a smart play.

As many players have said, you'll go ahead and tunnel the body-blocker. Go ahead. I'm not discouraging you, but it seems like people are forgetting that body-blocking & any form of teamwork is allowed too.

When I play killer, I don't like to linger around. I don't have to worry about BT at all because that 12-second timer has nothing on me.

There are options available against a body-blocking Bt

    EDIT: changed title

Well sorry, but I for one am not trying to tunnel and with the unhooked survivor in my face, and with me trying to get around you, you are essentially wasting all your rights that I gave you, because I wasn't gonna tunnel you, but obviously you want my attention

i mean, taunting someone for no reason other than anger is kinda toxic behavior, insulting others is toxic and taunting in dbd is the equivalent of insults. it always has been unless it happens after like a good play. like when i mess up as killer i shake my head or if a survivor outplays me ill nod at them and leave

Yeah but it's only how you interpret it, nothing anyone does is toxic, once again, only the endgame chat

now i aint saying this is toxic yet, but im stating how the events were played out and so when he finds me he loses me and leaves then checks the gen again! ok goo call, then he proceeds to chase me for almost all of the other mins timer and hooks me because i accidentally got a slow vault even tho i was running :/ then he shakes his head like MASSIVELY, pc head shake. and then i kobe and he comes right back to hook and i loop him shortly because i was at ormond shack stuck in a corner and he tried the dumbest mindgame and eventually i vaulted the window after he broke a pallet to try and bait a hit with lithe and he knew so he downed me again and then shook his head and swung at me then tried finding hatch, i had to watch as he failed to hear hatch so he gave up and hooked me when it was right by him... just for him to instantly go close it at end game.

he not only got destroyed by me live, but proceeded to taunt and then trick me and i called him out for it for being messed up and he called me a noob and said i did nothing all match when i did like all the gens basically :| im not even salty but amused.

Whenever I play survivor I never opened chests. Honestly I thought nobody ever did because why would you spend 10 seconds opening a chest for the off chance that you'll get a brown medkit? Why not just bring items every game and not have to run around searching for chests?

I didn't know how bad of a problem this was until I started doing the archive challenge for opening 8 chests and I kept bringing shiny coins. Almost every game I had like no time to even open a single one and then I realized that in practically every game all 5 chests were looted... In close games where a matter of seconds will determine the outcome survivors spend time looting??

I wonder how many insanely close games I've lost because somebody spent 10 seconds on a useless item they probably didn't even use? Honestly they're just time traps like dull totems, never do them!

I want my daily "escape with *insert survivor here* with one new item"

  • @Shaderz said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2992835#Comment_2992835

It's not about changing the outcome of the game, that's not the issue here.

The issue is how these features are toxic in nature. They bring no value to the game, in the sense that they don't help survivors loop the killer longer or repair generators faster. There's nothing about them that makes you go "okay yeah, they're really useful to the game".

Matches where teabagging and flashlight clicking take place often end up being more toxic than matches that don't, which is easily proven by the endgame chat.

This suggestion aims to make headway as a community in the sense that it will inevitably help reducing toxicity.

Some people like hiding from killers, others like taunting cause it gets them rilled up apparently, so we have super fast crouching for that purpose, I personally always just used tbagging when I come across a teammate on a gen, and don't stop until they tbag back

As for flashlights...3 seconds? Really? What if I accidentally clicked the button and I need to line up my shot? By the time I have it lined up after the 3 seconds, I'm already hooked

  • @Shaderz said:

That's easier said than done. People react differently when confronting the same situation, so you shouldn't expect everyone to not take offense when somebody acts toxic towards them.

That doesn't change the fact that nothing needs to be done to these features, because they don't change anything about the outcome of the game

Currently debating running Overcome over Lithe and was wondering how every rates Overcome as an exhaustion perk.

Contributions much appreciated as always :)

Eh, I guess it's fine, you're guaranteed to use it if you engage with the killer I guess, I personally like lithe more because you're in control of when you drop the chase

5 seconds is just a number, it's meant to explain how the system could work. I'd be fine with a 3-second cooldown, but probably no lower than that. Maybe make it work with rarities, so a yellow flashlight has a 5-second cooldown, but the purple one only has 3 seconds. Just throwing ideas back and forth.

Yeah, I don't think the "Hey, I'm going to act toxic and piss this killer off, so he gets mad and underperforms as a result of it" really is or should be any form of strategy in any game.

People play games to have fun. The moment an opponent goes out of their way to ruin your experience, the odds of not having fun increase. That's counter-productive and hampers any sort of progress.

You could just...not take offense to it

But then we would have posts that could have civil discussions where both Killers and Survivors actually come together and agree both sides have major issues and all this toxicity and BMing is only making the game worse for all.....but then we would have posts like this or Sluzzy and then I would be sad

Oh my gosh, the day Sluzzy stops posting... it'll kill me, btw...have u seen a new Sluzzy post lately?

I don't think it shocks anyone to say teabagging, or repeatedly spamming the crouch key/button, and flashlight clicking are absolutely disgusting. They are the peak of toxicity in Dead By Daylight, and it's seriously about time to address them.

    Anti-teabagging System:

I think it would help reducing the amount of toxicity in the community if there was a way to slow down repeated crouches, or nerf the crouching speed so normal crouching works as expected, but spamming it causes your character to "get tired" after every crouch more and more so it becomes slower for every next crouch.

Off the top of my head, CS:GO has a crouching system that would work perfectly here. It kills two birds with one stone; it prevents fast crouch peeks and stops teabagging simultaneously. Now, fast crouch peeks aren't an issue in a game like Dead By Daylight, but teabagging definitely is.

    Anti-Flashlight Clicking System:

For flashlight clicking/spamming, I'm not exactly sure how slowing it down to the same level of the aforementioned anti-teabagging system would work, but it could be tried out.

Alternatively, introducing a cooldown between each flashlight click could be an option. Say 5 seconds between each click. So survivors are still able to blind the killer, therefore making the item still work as expected, but spam clicking it wouldn't be possible anymore, as they would have to wait 5 seconds to use the flashlight again. Of course, this number is up for debate, but I hope it gives you an idea of what I'm going for here.

I can't think of a single reason to keep either of these features in game, other than the fact they just add up to overall toxicity in the community, but you could prove me wrong. What are your thoughts?

Say it once and I'll say it again, nothing in this game is toxic except the endgame chat, everything else is a "strategy"
