I think it's going to be very underwhelming. I don't think they're going to really take enough risks or make anything really meta worthy, even though there will be a PTB.

What backlash? If they properly rework it the only backlash is going to be the Dead Hard abusers that probably wouldn't last long in chase without it.
I just imagine a lot of people will get mad since it's the most used survivor perk - and most used perk in general. I really doubt there won't be at least a very vocal minority who really won't be happy with the change. DBD Twitter especially will whine for the next couple months.

I seriously doubt it'll be nerfed, if they do decide to change it then it's going to be fully reworked since Dead Hard is just a really difficult perk to balance. I think it's going to get the same treatment old ruin got - along with the same backlash.

DH is awful. It's an awfully designed perk. You have to act like everybody has it and attempt to wait it out which is not fun gameplay, and if you don't do that and they do have DH you miss a hit and the chase is unnecessarily extended because they pressed a button. Using it for distance is worse, because you can perform a successful mindgame or make a really good play but then oh, they have DH so I guess it's all for nothing and they reach the window or pallet. The issue is that it's just high reward, no skill. It's not like flashlights or even sandbagging where it requires some sense of skill of coordination. No, you just press E and you just get away. It's so annoying and I feel robbed whenever I see it.

Eh, I don't mind. Just as long as it stays in the lore and it's not obvious to the point that it's comical in the design or cosmetics - relatability is important. If they do go in that direction, then I really hope the characters they create won't be so shallow or basic just to not offend anybody, and they are actual interesting characters outside of their sexuality - which is why I think David works as the current LGBT rep, since his sexuality is just another interesting angle to his character instead of his sole conflict.
