Also exaggerations and making everything so dramatic.
If both sides are op which one is it?
Everyone trying to make their preferred role the one who dominates. Everyone cherry picking things and ignoring everything else about the changes we are getting to push their agenda. This side is dead, no this one is dead. Absolutely unplayable. Yeah right.
People exaggerating how horrible is their every match since forever. No it is not. You just ignore everything positive like it doesn't exist or you are just an impulsive person who always has a scapegoat and needs to win every single game with no effort.
It is great to talk about things and what you think, adapt. But the way you are handling it just makes everything seems worse than it is. It is always a catastrophe, whatever happens, catastrophe.
Also, about bhvr. People in the community acting like they could do a better job with their biases. Sure you would. You always talk about game dying but I bet if any of you doomsayers were made to make decisions, this game would definitely die for sure. Looking at some of your takes that only take one side in consideration while trying to completely destroy the other tells me everything I need to do.
Rant over. Take care.
That's just human nature, you focus on the bad more than the good

Hey, when the survivor breakdowns your only scourge hook on one side of the map, its a little sad. Good thing breakdown is only used by adept Jeffs and some meme team sabo no mither squads.
Yeah, that's true I guess, but yeah, like you said, how often does that happen? Lol

I know yeah, I was just saying, because I guess it was just an automatic thought because we're in this thread talking about BBQ and WGLF, lol

@amazing_grace said:
I play both killer and survivor, the amount of time it takes to wiggle out is definitely reasonable. It allows the killer to have some choice where a survivor is hooked and I don't think the killer should have to worry about a survivor wiggling out after they caught them. A survivor has 2 hook states, so essentially making it easier to wiggle out wouldn't make much sense from a balance stand point.
You also have to remember that once someone is sacrificed, the hook disappears. If you make it so a killer can't reach another hook if you run to the destroyed hook, you'll get many killers who will just slug to death and have you bleed out. Not fun.
Or you could run breakdown, y'know, that perk that everyone knows exists, lol

I get that, but it's largely irrelevant.
- Not everyone runs those perks every game
- No-one is getting maximum value out of those perks every single game
- The grind can and will be shorter for everyone. Those who can't envision it or do the math really should stick around until the update is live so they can see for themselves
Edit: Here's another thought. THE IDEA THAT WE FELT COMPELLED TO RUN THOSE PERKS WAS ASSANINE. I'm glad their bonuses are removed, I want to feel like I have 4 perk slots.
Eh, BBQ second effect isn't terrible on killers that can find survivors fast like doc

Mmhhh i think i made some typos there, which transfered the wrong message. Sorry i wrote that in between 2 matches.
What i meant in my first message was, that you prestige Dwight and unlock his 3 perks on all other survivors on lvl1. If you want lvl 2 and 3 you need to prestige Dwight 2 more times OR (this is the part that was confusing from my own writing) you have to spend the bloodpoints on the target survivor, say David, just like we do now.
Now, what i see as the issue is. That there is no point in prestiging every char 3 times, just to unlock all perks on everyone. Even more. Since survivors are only skins, there is no point in having all perks on all of them unlocked. So just leveling 2 or 3 of them to have all perks, was and still is the most cost efficient way.
So if you don´t want to have every perk on every char, which btw would be a huge bloodpoint sink, then the grind actually wasn´t reduced. Since without WGLF, you´ll have a harder time collecting the bloodpoints to level up.
Are you amateurs NOT pouring every bp you earn into Kate Denson? Disgraceful, lol jk

I used Corrupt on most of my killers, but I'm 100% willing to admit that it was the most boring perk to face in my survivor games.
It required no input and had no downsides.
Except the killer now runs 3 perks the rest of the game, it's not like survivors exactly show themselves during those 2 minutes, they all go immerse

If you bodyblock off the hook with the new base kit Endurance you’re losing that 7% movement speed bonus you could have used to get really far away from the killer and ending up best case having to Mend afterward (assuming the new base kit version works like the current Borrowed Time). Depending on the situation it might be better strategy to actually just run away to a safe distance to heal yourself and/or start in on a gen while the killer chases the unhooker or someone else.
Either way it’s not any worse than the current game where basically all killers just assume all unhooked survivors have Borrowed Time anyway.
Funny how you say that, cause every survivor that comes get me I always assume doesn't have borrowed, lol
-
@Elik said:
With bt getting base kit and off the record being absolutely ridiculous I feel like people body blocking with endurance is gonna be quite a pain to deal with.
Should survivors with endurance maybe lose collision or something?
If you can't wait 5 seconds...then idk learn some patience I guess, cause if they are body blocking, that means they won't make it to a loop in time

Nobody will be unhooking in the killer's face anymore - cool down after a basic hit has been reduced. After taking a hit from a camping killer, there's usually only just enough time for the unhook. Chances are a survivor attempting to unhook in the killer's face will be grabbed.
Yeah well I mean, it'll probably still happen because people are stupid, like I always say

If your getting chased deep wound doesn't do anything.
Yeah but if you wanna drop it, they spend time mending while you can chase someone else than you can come back, it's some kind of slowdown, I'm fine with it
-
@Tatt3dWon said:
Use this thing for distance still just use it through that window u might not have made or that pallet you might not have gotten to. You still get 4m/s

That's pathetic.
It was already pathetic at 32 seconds

5 second BT?! are you serious... when was the last time you guys played this game? killers already waited for 8 - 10 seconds for BT for ware off and you expect them to go away because of 5 seconds??? HOLY SH-
DS got nerfed but why? I thought it was good in its current state? i guess not since BHVR WANTS players to continue camping & tunneling
I cant believe BHVR tricked the whole community to be hyped & to stick around for these (NOT) amazing changes.
after 6 years this game has proven it cant keep or maintain the player base instead BHVR feeds off the new and incoming waves of players.
so glad our support & feedback is valued greatly
congrats BHVR, pretty good job so far. this update will surely keep the player base :))
I'd rather a free 5 second then to have an idiot teammate unhook me in the killers face

So killers got basekit buffs which help them on chases and gen defend. But survivors still need to use BT for anti-camp. Even we have base-kit, we will still need to use same perk! Because 5 seconds is joke.
Great change!
I mean the speed boost for 5 seconds will probably clutch getting to a loop for you

This includes the following criteria:
- -Killer appearance and design
- -Killer power mostly of how fun you find it
- -Map if there is one that came out with it also only appearance
- -How much you like the story of the characters (Survivor and Killer, or just one of them)
This does NOT include how strong or weak you think ANY killers or maps are, its just about pure fun and how much you like anything.
My personal top 3 are:
1 Cursed Legacy - I love everything about the Oni, amazing looking killer, great lore, the gamepIay is really fun but can get frustraiting cuz of dead hard and the rough early game you can face at times. But besides that you REALLY feel like a enormus monster hunting down your target and killing them in seconds as soon as you find them, amazing feeling you have as playing the Oni which makes him a ton of fun, I dislike sanctum of wrath for beeing a 3 gen map but I love the desing of yamaoka estate in general and I really like Yui as one of my favorite survivors story wise and appearance.
2 Roots of Dread - Absolutely LOVE the idea of the Dredge. Having a gruesome and disgusting monster that should be that "thing" you see in the night or under your bed is such a AMAZING idea huge props to the team who designed it. Dredge is one of the most fun Killers in the game, it feels so good to teleport from locker to locker and sometimes jumpscaring survivors like that. I really like haddie's design and also like her general character, the lore of her is pretty average imo but the dredge's amazing lore weightes that out easily. Garden of Joy is one of the best looking maps so far and I love the general vibe of the map.
3 Darkness Among us - Legion is a increadibly underrated Killer in terms of lore imo. Great characters with ALOT of truth behind the lore. Power isnt that strong but very fun to use, I am coming back over and over to that Killer cuz the feeling of the power feels that great to use, especailly after the update. A shame the Killer still sucks in terms of streangth. I love jeff cuz he looks very much like me, hes like my long lost brother, his lore is abit lack luster imo but we may get more lore in the future in the tomes. Mount ormond is one of the coolest looking maps, I love the vibe and the general look of the map, especially the main buildinig looks SOOO cozy, I want to live there no joke.
Lemme know yours
1. Doc
2. Kate
3. Idk, I only play 2 people, lol

The fact that both BBQ and WGLF were on the list makes me think that both BP bonuses will be baked into the base game. BBQ alone is a fine perk, and will get some use but not be meta without the BP bonus, and that'll be healthy for the game and open up the use of many other detection perks. I can't see them just essentially halving killer BP gains with no compensation.
Since the center is usually "free space," I would say "BHVR completely misses the point of why a perk is popular/unpopular and nerfs/buffs it in a way which has literally no impact on how often it's used."
I would also say that I think BT and Corrupt will both be made base kit with much shorter durations, and the perks will be changed to extend that effect rather than add it.
It's BHVR... there's no chance that the bp will be base kit

To be fair, most killers don't have slowdown baked in. Off the top of my head, that's just Pig, Pinhead, Legion, Doctor, and Sadako-in-theory-but-not-really.
He has high map mobility, which is in many ways equivalent to slowdown because it means you can interrupt gens, but its usage has waned as more indoor maps and complex main buildings have been created, and that map traversal has been hugely eclipsed by on-demand teleporters.
Yeah... I don't think they were thinking of Billy with garden of joy, at least what I saw of it

@Marigoria said:
Shouldn't have been changed in the first place.
Billy used to be one of the best 3 killers at the time, alongside nurse and spirit. No one ever complained about Billy, in fact a lot of people found in fun to play as AND go against.
Only change he needed was a rework to his addons.
He was only best 3 when there was 3 killers, lol
Jk

@Wampirita said:
I LOVE facing curve Billys, but it may be because I actually know how to run them.
A lot of people tend to dc vs killers they refuse to learn how to play against, but i wouldn't care less.
I can get my cheeks absolutely clapped and i'll take it as learning experience, leaving the game early won't teach me anything.
So no, i don't hate Billy in any shape and form. Billy players are a super rare sight nowadays anyway, i'll cherish every single one of them i'll meet, I just wish they didn't gave up so easily on chases :(
Can you blame em? Once they miss that chainsaw hit, he's just a basic M1 that you run for 5 minutes isn't he?
-
@Laluzi said:
Most survivors will agree that Billy is enjoyable to face (and I raise an eyebrow at anyone complaining about him nowadays), but the consensus is that he's not nearly as fun to play as he used to be. Part of it is a series of changes that hit him all at once - bad addon pass, overheat, wobbly movement cam, roar when he starts sprinting - but part of it is that he also got powercrept by a lot of killers that could suddenly do parts of his kit better than he can. Oni is a smoother, easier to hit, more forgiving Billy when he charges up his power. Bubba has a far easier time scoring instadowns with his chainsaw and a far lower skill floor. Blight has stronger map mobility and an easier time using his power to hit people. As it stands, while Billy takes an immense amount of skill to master, the payoff isn't really worth it compared to what other killers can do with that same level of mastery.
Plus they just killed Skybilly, which was the last beloved thing Billy was famous for. It's likely you're just facing salty survivors who'd quit over anything that went poorly for them.
I'm personally pretty terrible with him, though I haven't put in the time to try beyond knocking out his achievements and archive challenges (unlike Nurse, who I did spend time on and am still terrible with.)
And I can't think of anything off the top of my head, but doesn't Billy have like zero slowdown built in?
-
@Iron_Cutlass said:
I think we all are somewhat familiar with the man himself, Max Thompson Jr.
The reason why Ive asked about Billy is it seems that during the anniversary events, a lot of survivors Ive faced have DCed or let themselves go on first hook over curving. Ive even received a lot of harassment over curving (mind that I havent used any Engravings during the event, Im saving those for later, my addons used for this whole event has been Punctured Muffler and Junkyard Air Filter). A lot of this just led me to question: Do people hate Hillbilly?
Well, to be more exact, is Hillbilly fun to play? Is Hillbilly enjoyable to face? And are there certain builds that people refuse to go against? Id just like to get some of the community thoughts about him.
Survivors just hate everyone but themselves, don't worry

Killers are going to complain about SB or wathever other perk, Killers ALWAYS complain about a perk, is a neverending cycle of complains, DH isnt the first perk to cause an outrage and it wont be the last, SB has a lot of potential to be the next contentious issue because it directly affects chases but the shift could go to any other perk, especially the reworked ones.
On top of my head the complains since I started playing were: BT -> Self-Care -> Adrenaline -> DS -> MoM -> IW -> DH -> CoH -> DH and pretty much at least one perk from every Survivor on the PTB until the Survivor releases and the perks show they are actually useless. Not saying some perks werent worth of complaining, especially release MoM and first iteration DS, but it gets tiresome seeing a perk nerfed and 1 week later the same exact "Nerf [Perk] its OP and Killer feels miserable, this Survivor used [Perk] and now my feelings hurt badly" threads.
Alright sureeeeeee, let's just pretend survivors are precious little angels that don't do no wrong and don't complain about anything...right

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3005753#Comment_3005753
If you say that, then you don't know how to play against it, you've never played with it, and your only perspective is that of a survivor.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3005762#Comment_3005762
Most of the guys who come crying on the forums like "The ugly nurse is too strong, help!" are just survivors who may be good against other killers, but are otherwise incompetent at playing AGAINST the nurse.
As a result, they can't accept (hurt in their pride? Maybe...) the fact that if the nurse is "too strong", it's just that THEY are not good enough.
But it's so much easier to complain than to try to improve. Typical.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3005785#Comment_3005785
In fact, saying "She's hard to control so it's okay that she's so strong" is not entirely true.
The reason "she's so strong" is mainly because most survivors do NOT know how to play against her.
And that's actually normal, from a technical point of view.
The game has 28 killers.
Of those 28 killers, 27 are walkers.
This means that the game is over 96% filled with killers on which the classic techniques (loop shack, jungle gym, fake pallets, connecting loops, etc.) work.
In other words, the survivors learn much faster how to counter the so-called "classic" killers, since that's almost all they encounter (from a purely statistical point of view).
So, necessarily, when they come across the nurse, or more exactly when they come across the only killer that has to be countered by OTHER THINGS than these basic mechanics, they have less inexperience.
And that's normal.
The problem is that most survivors imagine that having 3000 hours of play and running into a classic killer should mean that it should be the same with the nurse.
And out of pride and hubris, they refuse to question themselves.
The other day I was playing the nurse. I ran into a streamer who had 3500+ hours under his belt.
On his other streams, he is pretty good against other killers.
I folded him in 10s with my nurse. Not because I was particularly "OP", but because the guy did NO double-back, almost always went straight, and was 150% predictable.
Guys do NOT know how to play against the nurse.
That's it.
"If anything, the real issue here is all the other killers weak players don't complain about."
Exactly. However, why don't the survivors complain about the weak killers and only about the nurse?
Simply because "weak" killers are good for them, for the survivors, because it makes them feel superior; it is important that these killers do not become a "threat" to the survivors who are so full of themselves.
On the other hand, the nurse, well yes, let's see, she can be better than them, so yes, she must be completely nerfed, let's see, it's logical.
Uh... people have complained about pig before... and not even afk pig... just pig... because people will complain about everything
