To clarify, we do not issue bans without proof. Bannable offenses include griefing, hateful speech, repeated harrassment, and more. For the full list, click here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/kb/articles/139-game-rules
Thank you so much for clarifying for me, I think everyone has a right to freely represent themselves as long as it's not a theory of hate towards another

If the person states they went after them because of the charm it's pretty cut and dry.
Christ I didn't realize a little charm could cause so much gay panic.
I don't care who has the charm I just want to know how they're gonna know who to ban that's it
-
@Science_Guy said:
Pretty sure they're talking about cases where someone states they they griefed or tunneled someone specifically because of the charm.
But how can you tell if it's that or the killer securing a kill for pressure
-
@WeenieDog said:
it's probably going to work the same way they said tunneling in general might be considered grieving. It has to be over multiple games, and it has to show that they are specifically focusing on you in a way that is completely different from how they normally play.
Well how can you prove that? What if the killer is overwhelmed and tunnels to secure a kill? I guess they're banned for being a homophobe because the guy wearing the charm lost, I guess I need to throw it on and report everyone who tunnels me now because this is the direction we're choosing to take this
-
@Orion said:
They'll be banned. Easy enough.
I'm not against the charm but why in the world would they get banned for tunneling someone with a charm? Thats not gonna get anyone banned from the game because tunneling is considered a strategy, I could only see them banned if they flame them in the end game chat for it, a charm isn't giving anyone some special immunity from toxicity

Honestly Deathslinger. At least he's not throwing refrigerators at you.
Maybe if the refrigerators were the size of an autohaven Buick lol I don't mind facing either one but I'd say slinger just because he has a limited range on his weapon and huntress does not, the only thing I don't like about slinger is his ability to just pop up out of nowhere because most of them run M&A and his terror radius music is quiet and subtle so he's already on top of you by the time you realize what's happening unless you have spine chill

I didn't think you could play those offerings even in KYF they're darked out I thought but I could be wrong

Fair enough. Than the training mode becomes a DLC. If I have to pay in order to use the old content, then so be it.
The only reason I don't see them ever bringing back old files is because they would be of zero benefits to the current state of the game and would probably confuse newer players who didn't understand how some of it worked and then they would be on here complaining about some old mechanic that doesn't exist anymore or asking why they can do something in practice that doesn't work on the live build and reporting it as bugs, noobs would ruin it all sadly lol but what if the made a creation DLC And allowed us to make maps with the assets we have in the current state of the game? That would be so sick and then they could have like map creation competitions in the community for certain realms with the winners having their map go live for like a week or so
-
@ItzZane_ said:
They should copy and paste the training mode from DBD mobile.
I think they're laying the groundwork to somewhat do that but I don't think we'll ever get points for the training mode like mobile because it would make que times skyrocket, but if there's no incentive other than practicing I could see it being implemented like KYF but bots and no points involved

I think a couple things:
#1. Zombies should not come within 8 meters of a hooked survivor.
#2. Survivors should have a way of killing Zombies (other than dropping pallets). It shouldn't be easy, and the killer should be rewarded for it by increasing their mutation gauge. (Thus making it risky) But they should be able to temporarily remove zombies other than dropping a pallet.
#3. Like Trapper's traps, I think the number of Zombies should be map dependent. On indoor maps, fewer Zombies are fine. On large outdoor maps there should be more.
You can head on them and kill them I've been running head on and flashbang together it's made for some pretty funny moments

I know they're really slow and have almost no threat in open map. But map like Hawkin, Midwhich...and the new map with very narrow hallway.
Some people telling that you can bait their attack, then while they're in recovery, you run pass them. But I feel is their attack is really fast. Make it hard to bait (not really hard, but you may fail it from time to time).
I think Zombie attack should be slower, but longer range, also homing to their target. So kind of they're still able to disturb Survivor if theyre not focus on where they're running / while Killer is coming close / or in chase. But not a thread while out chase.
I think there should be 3 zombies and make them slightly faster but that's it , too much would overwhelm some people and I don't want another killer where I load in my teammates see who it is and DC
-
Nemesis is an A tier killer as is from what I can see , he checks all the boxes to be in the category with the way his power works and the zombies being able to down an injured survivor when he's not there , I've been playing with a few builds on him but I really like eruption, surge, hysteria, and tinkerer

What are Leon's perks? I saw two of them were the same in a post above so one of them are missing I'm at work for a few more hours and would appreciate it if somebody could post

Lmao be like "This baby can hop in and out of lockers so fast that once he hops in the naked eye can't see him leave!"
-
Hey!! Wait a minute!! this has to be a scam, I didn't pay anything and got one for free just 5 minutes ago at Coldwind Farm, maybe they're just giving them away because they cant sell them anymore.
-
I think something big is coming that's about to shake the whole game up for both sides, I don't think it's gonna be a normal chapter release I think some core mechanics are about to change but that's just my opinion and I could be way off target with that assumption but I really don't think I'm too far off
-
It doesn't need transparency because those people you're speaking of don't care if they're good at the game or not because it's either not their main game or they don't invest enough time in games to really care, the new players who get sucked in will always take time to learn those sort of things and improve, the problem is the new players run into red ranks on both sides and get slaughtered in game and taunted in the chat so much that they drop the game all together and say it's not worth getting a headache or In a argument over a game they're trying to learn, this community is full of egotistical ######### and it is what drives majority of new players away with the exception of those who thrive for the drama
-

The thing about Identity V and why I will probably never play it is because of how absurdly strong survivors are
They have way too many resources in the game , one tile has like 6 pallets and you can break down walls as a survivor and create infinites with no downside, it stupid how fast the games go as well some of these dbd killers would be in for a rude awakening on there , on a good note they have a map almost identical to crotus prenn with the asylum main building, I play it on pc sometimes if I want something different or don't want to play serious on dbd that way I can troll and be a trash teammate without feeling bad
-
@BrokenSouI gave some pretty good advice, identifying whether they're a double backer or full sender is important because not all survivors run the same, when you go into a custom match go to a jungle gym and practice blinking to corners around it in a pattern and get used to how it works shack is good for this too and also get used to turning while in your blink because it can be really effective lining you up for an attack if you find yourself coming close but whiffing alot as nurse, newer nurse players have a tendency to blink straight on without turning during blink and in certain scenarios resulting in them getting spun when they come out of blink because they're blinking through a wall or something and looking straight ahead instead of turning towards the survivor essentially you're lunging from a different direction and hoping it hits when you don't turn while blinking to line attacks up so only a portion of your attacks are hitting when they should be alot more often
-
@akanadi said:
why? whats the point running a killer there doesnt make you good, and if you are bad you arent learning anything from it, and its funny because most of the ppl who bring haddonfield complain about camping and tunneling, haddonfield is how to tell me youre insecure about your skill without telling me youre insecure.
And making a forum post about people who play a map offering show us how insecure YOU are, it's a game I'll play any map I want when I feel like it and you can just keep making excuses here, people seem to forget it's not real life and people play this ######### to enjoy themselves in down time , guess what survivors? Salty killer mains are crying so I guess we better disable perks, map offerings, and holding shift+W has to be banned too cause "TRU3 says it's OP" , we don't want them "holding w" to the forums to complain to the devs
-
Not trying to derail your thread but alot of people don't understand that Vigil actually stacks and if all four survivors ran it you get exhaustion back in like 15-20 secs so if you brought a perk that did what you're thinking it would be so broken if survivors decided to couple that

Are we having trouble counting kind sir?

If it was just that one house you’d have a point, but almost all the gens spawn in houses with incredibly strong windows, there are several safe pallets, the high fences can spawn some insane loops, and the gens are all spread out and very safe. It’s a gross map because almost the entire thing is safe, anywhere you run as survivor you can find safety. The issue isn’t one particular building or one perk.
Yea but those buildings are only problematic with balanced landing other wise they get the stun from falling and you catch them after the first loop and not only that but if he doubled back there's no way that survivor could've made it to safety in time , in my personal experiences I only have trouble when there are multiple BL and the side window is open on strode house and the back right window down stairs in the blue house , the yellow house is also strong but that map is weird and depends alot on rng because sometimes there's not much safety throughout the map and all the strong windows are closed and other times the fences are so long that even without a vault they can almost be an infinite and there's safety everywhere it's kind of hit and miss with that one but hey that's just my opinion we're all entitled to one
-
For people saying Old Freddy would be more fun in this game I just want to point out with For the people, desperate measures or WGLF you would never catch anyone unless they were flat out terrible , also if they had soul guard it's an issue because people could just pick each other up and still have enough time to get to safety or take a hit before you could do anything about it, he would immediately be the least picked killer due to the torture the user would have to go through and having to put people to sleep just to attack them
-
If I have sprint burst I'm gonna try and get it close to 99 and use it mid chase like dead hard for distance but without having to be injured to get the distance

Only spirit and nurse can deal with haddonfield. Clearly in the video even coconut can't do anything, and he is a pretty good huntress main.
Strode house is only broken when you have multiple balanced landings , Also Honestly he was playing the strode house really bad, the survivor was dropping off before the huntress even vaulted the window he literally could've just doubled back down the stairs and the guy would've ran right into him or been forced to leave the loop and find safety which would've resulted in a down for the killer fairly quick , also trapper and hag can deal with strode pretty well
-
Lol just today? That's everyday I rarely even play solo anymore because I don't have the patience to deal with bots I'd rather play something different than play with a squad of randoms because it's like 1 in every 5 matches you MIGHT get good teammates if you're lucky
-
@dbd4life said:
hag is not a beginner killer, you got to get her first. wraith is fine for starters.
Console players get hag for free and since the user stated they already had hag thats why I suggested it she's really easy and fun to start with

Try out wraith or the hag , they are both beginner friendly killers who have a fun playstyle and decent potential, alot of people sleep on how good the hag is cause before freddy got buffed for like two or three years the hag had the highest kill rate of all the killers and arguably can keep up with some of the best squads if you use her right

Silent Hill chapter
I'm sorry , I'm confused on what that has to do with the Resident Evil chapter? I like the old silent hill games but resident evil was always a go to for me, I'm just really hoping we get an iconic character from that franchise instead of a new character that hasn't established themselves in the franchise yet
-
The most BHVR thing they could do is not give us Mr X or Nemesis, I'm fully ready to be disappointed by getting a non iconic character to represent one of my favorite old school games of all time, if they give us the iconic ones I'll shut my mouth and never complain again lol I would be truly shocked if they actually did something that good
-
It's because most survivors don't know how to run tiles the correct way, the truth is even though you see alot of complaint threads about survivors most of them are terrible and basically hand the killer the game, same could be said about killers also though alot are bad players who make very questionable decisions while chasing survivors then complain survivor op when they lose , there are only a few instances I can think of in the five years I've played where I've truly felt like there was nothing I could do as a killer and I was playing low tier killers everytime and the old BNP was still around for a couple of them where if all survivors brought it 4 gens were done in like 8 seconds
-
I do a gen until mine activates but I guess that's just me

To be fair the gen tapping suggestion is a very valid one.
Gen tapping is pretty annoying and the base regression for killers is far too low as well as borderline useless. It shouldn't be this way. If you are the killer and you find survivors almost done on a generator so you slap one of them, scaring another to run around, and then you kick the gen you will not get much done if anything at all. You waste time by kicking generators but it can easily be undone in less than a second, and it doesn't even regress that much unless it sits there for a minute untouched, which hardly ever happens.
Like I have said, the idea of "kickstarting" a generator should totally go through and would have my full support.
I've stated numerous times in the past survivors should have to do something before starting gens, gen tapping isn't broken because perks like PGTW exist or thrilling tremors, ruin, corrupt, dragons grip etc. Gen tapping doesn't progress the gen it just stops it from regressing if no ruin is in play , I can agree gens are broken but it's ridiculous to blame gen tapping and want it nerfed before the gen itself isn't that ignoring the elephant in the room?

Sure, you did not attack me. You only: Dug through my post history. Linked to another post of mine attempting to call me out like I was being a hypocrite and you were finding a 'got ya' moment. And called it 'Complaining' even though the thread I made was not complaining in the slightest.
But you were not attacking me. Sure.
Also; I clearly know what gen rushing, slugging, and camping are. If you had read that thread of mine you dug up, you would have seen that I said slugging is a tactic, and I was trying an idea that would not limit legit slugging. I've also said, multiple times, that Survivors can do gens, solo, with no items, in 6.66 minutes, and a Killer going for 12 hooks would need 12 minutes.
But, you're here, trying to explain to me that slugging is legit, and Killers don't have enough time to do their goal.
...It's almost like you dug through my post history solely to attack me and did not actually read any further than you had too in order to find dirt on me.
I didn't dig through anything I asked if you were the same guy but it's whatever man camping is a tactic its just not a very good one and gens have always been busted are you just now figuring that out? Any veteran can tell you gen times have always been the problem that's why so many people slug , camping just highlights the gens being a problem and gets you rushed against good survivors don't pretend like it's some solid tactic to win and you "won't have to hunt for your food" that's some of the most noob ######### I've heard on here , next time when you respond and I don't answer just leave it at that and don't tag me repeatedly to continue a conversation that was already over.

Wow, so children like you attack people based on their posts.
While I accept that slugging, camping, and tunneling are part of the game, I can also accept that there is such a thing as toxic slugging. IE: Slugging the whole team and leaving them to bleed out to ruin their fun.
I mean, heaven forbid I be intelligent enough to differentiate between a valid tactic and a toxic attempt to ruin people's fun. But I guess being an adult is strange to someone who digs through a person's forum posts to find reasons to dismiss or insult them.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2185530#Comment_2185530
ANd yes, because gen speeds are too fast. I can take Survivors 6.66 minutes or less to do all 5 gens, and the Killer needs 12 minutes if he is expected to 12 hook people.
Killers would camp less if they had more time to look for Survivors because, as it is now, we feel like we HAVE to remove someone RIGHT NOW to slow down gen times.
I don't get why you and Wyle think having varying opinions is somehow bad? It's called 'critical thinking'.
First off I didn't say anything I simply asked a question and left it at that with no response, maybe if you used your "critical thinking" you would understand that , Also I've played since release of this game and I'm rank 1 on both sides I never have to camp the hook for my kills ive probably got more hours in the killer side alone than you have in this game I know exactly why gens are busted but both sides have things like that even though they're starting to dwindle away slowly now , slugging is the real tactic to win vs gen rushers if you want the truth, there isn't enough time to get 12 hooks against top notch players so you run high mobility killers and slug instead of coming to the forums trying to pick a fight with someone who wasn't even trying to be argumentive over your opinion that camping and tunneling are good .... Ok bro ... Have fun camping and tunneling in the low ranks and getting gen rushed to oblivion in red ranks because you want to keep noob habits against veterans I really don't care.

Yes, multiple are off gens but it isnt a problem as they always have one doing a gen. You can't slug a person in the locker, so I don't see how that works and slugging an SWF is always a questionable strategy.
If the survivor hops in a locker and you know a flashlight is nearby slug the flashlighter and it will force the one out of a locker or you can pull him out if he's dumb enough to stay in there
-
@SleepingPilot said:
So this might just be me, but recently I have run up against a tactic employed by high-skill SWFs where a survivor who is about to go down will jump into a locker and if you pull them out a second survivor will blind you during the animation to trigger a drop.
While incredibly rare to go against, this seems broken to me. There isn't really counter-play (i might be wrong). The survivor is happy to sit in the locker while one or two of thier mates do gens, if you go after the healthy flashlight survivor the other survivor will obviously leave.
Often they are running multiple flashlights so you can't even focus down the one survivor.
My opinion is I am facing a locker, I should not be able to be blinded during the animation.
Thanks.
Slugging is the counter because in order for that to work multiple survivors are off gens and one has to be nearby for it to work , or if you aren't the slugging type run Franklin's on hag and trap their items when they drop then

Camping:
Ensuring the person on the hook dies. Which is our goal as a Killer. This frequently also draws in OTHER prey who want to save them, thus making our job easier because we don't need to hunt for our food.
Tunneling:
Going after wounded prey. Why would a predator waste more time & energy chasing someone healthy for 70 seconds if they can down a wounded person in 30 seconds?
Slugging:
Leaving a person on the ground to go after someone else. Usually done when it's nearly Hatch time, or if someone is nearby trying to flashlight save, or you know the downed person has DS.
Any other definition, as used by salty Survivor mains, are complete bunk meant to shame Killers into playing sub-optimally so they can win easier.
They also scream it's a problem and demand the Devs put in 'fixes' and 'punishments' for a problem that boils down to 'The enemy team killed me and I should I always win, remove their ability to kill me.'
But here's the thing; the opposing team does not get to decide how you play. So camp and tunnel and slug to your hearts content. And be happy knowing that at least 50% of the people you do it too are probably screaming about how 'unfair' and 'unfun' it was that you beat them.
And because they're playing a legitimate tactic; they won't improve, and they will lose to these things again. 😁
Weren't you the one who wanted gen tapping nerfed and ruin to be basekit?
-
I'll use whatever I want to use and people can just cry me a river, it's a video game and these perks are meant to be enjoyed not some lame ######### like feeling bad for someone's feelings in a slasher game, Ill be as toxic as I want when I want and if I want to meme for the next 10 matches not being serious I will, people in this community get so butthurt and egotistical like this is real life or something and they care what everyone in the game thinks instead of having fun because they don't want to get called out by a salty sore loser telling them to get good for using a perk, well obviously they need to get good if they can't beat a damn perk and want to cry about it after the match.

Better yet make it so server calculates hits, grabs, flashlight saves and head on exclusively. Therefore if you're on the correct server and have a good connection you can't possibly have something unfair happen to you.
Im pretty sure they already have this but it doesn't work just like most of the other things in this game, I love BHVR to pieces but 5 years in and we still have some of these core flaws? How has some of the most basic ######### gone this long without fixing?

No one uses it to give themselves bad ping, they use it to get into servers they otherwise wouldn't be able to normally. Sure that means they lag and you get hit with bs swings but it also means they miss hits that should of been legit on their screen. This mentality that people use a VPN to make themselves laggy is actually one of the dumbest ideas people have come up with on these forums and that's saying a lot. No having a laggy internet connection is not bannable and never will be. VPNs are just a fact of the internet and will never ever go away so you might as well just get use to them.
And for the record VPNs normally give you a better connection not worse, mine typically nets me an extra 10-15ping better when I use it, bringing me from an average of 60 to 45-50.
You're connecting to a different server than your own and getting BS hits from a mile away because you shouldn't be on that server in the first place, I hope they eventually find a way to lock VPN users to their original server when it comes to gaming so you cant ruin everyone else's game for your own enjoyment and act like it gives zero advantage, It's not cheating but it most definitely shouldn't be in a game like this that's already bad enough about getting hit when you shouldn't

Kind of ascended of them to run two Kindreds when they can just comm it. May have been 4 high level solos
Kindred is so underrated, I use it in a swf sometimes just because you can see something better than someone explaining and you get the info faster, there can be alot of miscommunication on comms that gets you killed , you don't have to ask who's nearby because you know immediately who's good to go for a save and you have free wallhacks to not get mindgamed if they come back while trying to get the unhook so you don't create a slug situation
-
The devs have acknowledged the wraith as a beginner killer which is why he seems so basic, you're playing a killer that the devs intended to be extremely easy to learn but his skill ceiling is capped at a point that I feel like you can only get to a certain level of good with him and then the true players skills arent being represented because everything the wraith can physically do is already being exhausted and it's up to whether your survivors are at wraiths max skill level instead of the player having their true skill represented, but also notice the killers like spirit that are a upgraded version of wraith and it's easy to see that he's just a foot in the door to the game before moving on to better killers that work similar almost like a stepping stone.
