  • If anything BHVR has already made so much money that the competition is too late, even if VHS were a better game it would take years for them to actually get on the same level as this game with licensing and content, but I will say that vhs going free to play was the right move and will help them climb faster , also who says there can't be crossover and both sides benefit? Regardless BHVR has 5 and a half years on them of progress

I have found a huge issue with this.

You don't play -> you get worse, right?

but your MMR doesn't get reset anymore, so I didn't play for almost two months and I can't play my mains now...

My theory is that MMR is non existent you're just getting paired with whoever, I 4kd a swf just yesterday and the next game had survivors with less than 40 hours in the game and I've got 10,000 , I ended up letting them farm because I felt bad after having everyone dead on hook with 5 gens to do, but the same could be said for survivor because Ive escaped on a rank one killer who obviously knew there stuff only to turn around and get a ash rank 4 ghost face who has trouble kicking the gen. Based off of that I've come to the conclusion there's absolutely no way they have any sort of MMR or skill involved in determining who you face it's just about getting as fast matches as possible

Like I said-- there's real things to complain about here, and normal, well-articulated people who don't treat this game like it's life talk about it all the time, which is good, because I usually agree with complaints about the state of killer.

But the well-functioning and articulate group aren't the ones i'm talking about here.

They're just bad at the game and won't admit it, they can't handle losing so have to make excuses for why they lose because it can't be anything they could've done, BHVR needs to give out a box of tissues and limited edition diapers for these people and even then they would cry about the tissue quality and say they gave survivors the better tissues and gave them sandpaper, I'm the closest I've been to leaving the game because this community is a cancer full of egotistical people who are softer than Charmin and have to have everything handed to them with little effort , I've got 10,000 hours in this game on steam Im close to hanging it up and it's more because of the people in the community than the game itself though I will admit even gameplay has been pretty boring lately for both sides

  • I don't think they should be nerfed because they're trash most of the time and easy to snuff when you're nearby, in my killer matches where I go against survivors worried about boons I always win I don't think I've lost a single match to a squad running boons. I'm not saying they don't have a strong effect but the time wasted to keep them going kills your team and especially if multiple survivors are running boons, in my opinion they're only efficient if one person on the team has it so that way there's always other people focusing gens but any more than that and it's a ez win, I mean for crying out loud you're searching for the totem then having to bless it and for what? Self care? To heal up instead of focusing gens meanwhile someone is using pallets to stay up? It's only good near the end of the game as a reset zone but that's my opinion and it's okay if people don't agree I get that it's a unpopular opinion I just think gen speeds are way more broken than any boon they could ever bring to the game

  • I personally would like a winter themed event that had random presents all over the map for both survivor and killer and opening the present would give you a random boosted bonus effect that is on it's own special active ability button to be used randomly during a match and you would be rewarded by counting the presents you opened when escaping and for killer you would get the amount of presents you opened plus 1 extra for every dead survivor and once you reached 100 presents it would unlock two event outfits that was applicable to any original character you choose along with a 250,000 BP bonus for completing the event and have daily event challenges along with it that give extra rewards each time you complete them along with 50% off any original cosmetics in the store, if there was someway to put sleds for survivors and killers on Ormond I would do that also lol

  • @GeneralV said:

This sounds like fun! (TL;DR in the bottom)

Alright, so my event would be called:

    Infernal Summer BBQ.

Veterans and old-fashioned players might find the name a bit familiar, and they are absolutely correct! My event would be a direct sequel to the legendary Scorching Summer BBQ event, which took place between 7 and 23 August 2018.

It wold also take place in August.

    Menu

The very first features of the event would be the menu itself and the theme. Both of which can be found on this video right here:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ypPGg8borKw&ab_channel=Aeulas

To honor its predecessor, the Infernal Summer BBQ would use the same menu and theme that the Scorching Summer BBQ used, all the way back in 2018.

    In-game changes

The Infernal Summer BBQ would re-enable the following assets:

1-) Grill Hooks, which would highlighted in a blue aura:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/39U29AEMMRQB/image.png

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/79AOO2YZ0A25/image.png

    2-) Frozen Cocktail Machine Generators

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/KGTJB6AMTZ43/image.png

    3-) BBQ Invitation Offering:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/448XGUA51XG9/image.png

    Challenge

The Infernal Summer BBQ would feature personal Challenges that require the Player to collect special Tokens in order to unlock the Cosmetic Rewards.

Each Map spawns with 2 Frozen Cocktail Machines and 2 Grill Hooks by default.

The Player can to find and burn a Offering called the BBQ Invitation, calling upon The Entity for additional Machines and Hooks, up to a total of 7 Machines and Hooks.

The Player earns Frosty Margaritas and Survivor Chops when they fix Frozen Cocktail Machines or hook Survivors for the first time on Grill Hooks. They also gain bonus Bloodpoints for doing so, even though Survivors will be unable to earn 7 Frosty Margaritas in a single trial due to the limit of only 5 Generators being fully repairable. However, the bonus Bloodpoints gained from completing a Frozen Cocktail Machine are global and awarded to all Survivors. All other bonus Bloodpoints are awarded post-trial during the tally screen and only if the Player had burnt a BBQ Invitation.

A Blood Hunt would last for the entire duration of the event.

    Rewards

The rewards are the trickiest part. First of all, I would like for the rewards to be a full collections instead of singular pieces, like The Hallowed Blight. Players would be able to earn enough tokens for 2 full outfits.

Second, I wouldn't like them to be "beach" themed. Instead, I would like my rewards to be close to the "Scorching / Infernal" theme. Things like these 2 cosmetics right here:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/7WLF7VH3U069/image.png

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/0NHSB3ZKKSGQ/image.png

And I believe that is it! That, my dear friends, is the event that we never got in 2019.

That is the Infernal Summer BBQ.

TL;DR: A sequel for the 2018 Scorching Summer BBQ event, with a Blood Hunt and more rewards.

Bringing me back to the old days there! I like it! What if instead of opening the gates you had to light a giant charcoal grill that took the same time as the opening animation and opened the gate when the flame was fully ignited lol the game needs to bring stuff like this back and add a few changes like you suggested

  • @Mooks said:

I don’t think additional objectives or addressing the grind should be done via Events at all. It should be done in the actual game.

i am very much fine with how the Midnight Grove went - minus the performance issues I have read about on consoles of course. The tome and the way you earned cosmetics was nice and didn’t distract too much from the actual game (which was something heavily complained about during Hallowed Blight and Lunar Lantern events)

I miss the old events that had an objective along with a grind to where you couldn't just buy the cosmetics you had to earn them through gameplay, my friends and I used to grind the game so hard back then because the events felt entertaining and rewarding at the same time

  • Give him a teleport ability to fire barrels that let's out a laugh in a non directional sense to all survivors and be undetectable so you aren't sure if he is near you or not, make it look like that gigantic body is somehow squeezing out of that tiny barrel that's the most clown like thing I could think of while giving some sort of map pressure to the guy because right now when I go against clown I want to ask him how much he charges for special events , that's the level of threat I feel

It'd have to be a LoS factor, otherwise it shouldn't matter where you drop (to the side or behind) it so long as the timing is correct. And if it isn't a LoS factor, that's a problem, because most players likely run it under the assumption that it's a LoS factor and its full brokenness hasn't been fully eploited by the general community.

I'm thinking it's a radius deal whenever you're so close to it , maybe it is a bug? But that's how it's currently working

  • @AnObserver said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2647707#Comment_2647707

Flashbang relies on LoS to the Killers camera and also requires timing (or the Killer not knowing about blind saves), it doesn't just stun the Killer whenever (Unless it's a cloaked Wraith or blink charging Nurse). So not sure how that worked for you, but you got lucky, that is not the norm (nor should it be).

It works off of radius you just have to drop it at the killers side as close to them and the wall as you can , I assure you there was no way LOS played a factor it would've been an impossible flashlight save

  • @AnObserver said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2647686#Comment_2647686

Also no. That'd be busted especially when the Killer is carrying a Survivor. Insta-drop with little effort.

Flashbang already does that so I don't see an issue, just yesterday I flashbanged a killer that was literally right into the wall and got the save so what's the difference? I'm only getting one shot compared to multiple flashbang it's hardly broken

  • @Myla said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2647278#Comment_2647278

At this point should just drop the formalities and survivors should just ask for a Gun to shoot the killer's ankles with.

Lol that made me chuckle , I know you're joking but I would honestly like to see a gun make it in as an item with one shot that stuns the killer like a pallet

  • @GannTM said:

I love how it is a much higher priority to remove modding and glitches to their money grabbing cosmetics than it is to deal with the cheater issue. BHVR really makes themselves look bad, I hate to say it.

What's sad is that it's not like the cosmetics were stolen with the glitch but just because people were mixing outfits they paid for they would actually take the time to fix that instead of the hacking

  • @Ussu said:

Please stop. It does no good if we end up back on the hook this time at struggle phase or worse. Half the time you also get injured or downed in the process. You're much better off to either find a gen to repair, or to try and lure the killer far enough away so another survivor can unhook.

    Thanks.

If you're playing solo then run DS, you can't count on solo survivors for anything intelligent in this game, a killer who has it in their head to tunnel will do it no matter what's going on, not that it's wrong they can play however they want, I just think it's funny because those same people will cry when the gens get rushed while they proxy camp

  • @Vampwire said:

It's because a majority of solo survivors are terrible at the game. And those terrible survivors are usually carried by one person on the team who knows how to actually play survivor appropriately. It's not because they're toxic or want to bully killers all day. It's because they don't want to run the killer for 5 minutes and watch as only 2 gens get done. So the natural solution is to play with other players of equal skill. It's just a massive improvement to the survivor experience. You can talk to people and have fun instead of watching the randoms crouch in the corner while you get hook smacked. It gives you a reliable team.

There's so many more avenues you could take with SWF gameplay wise. You can do challenges with your friends. You could go for bold plays and have someone back you up during it. Or you could just troll the killer the whole game (which is the part that gives swf a bad rep). It also solves a lot of the issues survivors face which is tunneling and camping. With coordination you can get a save and body block. Some solo survivors will do this but most of the time they run away even while having BT.

It's crazy how much being able to communicate with your team improves the game. Part of the reason I don't play survivor very often is because of the solo-que experience. SWF's are equipped to deal with the killer meta, where as most solo's will lose because the killer brings oppressive builds that require communication to handle.

TL;DR: swf removes everything that makes solo stomping so easy.

I'll never understand why people are so scared to play the game, I get stealth is a playstyle but it's one thing to be stealthy and a whole different thing to just do nothing but hide the whole match, I just can't imagine why someone would load the game up and think it's so much fun to do nothing, why load up in the first place if you're too scared to actually play?

  • I typed "gotta love dead by daylight " and it censored dead by daylight, lol imagine censoring the name of the game you're currently playing

I like the old winter solstice event , alot of people have forgotten we used to get an event in December and for some odd reason they just dropped it and never used it again, for me it's things like this that keep the game entertaining, they should do events more often if they want to keep the game alive

Explain why survivors with 100 ping are able to deadhard my 20 ping. It is decided by the server, but there is also a HUGE margin of error granted towards the survivor while screwing over the killer.

Dead hard is working as intended now is the issue, it says in the description you can take a beating and it mentions an invincibility frame, it never worked right before and everyone would be exhausted on the ground, the devs were supposed to rework dead hard into a completely different perk and even mentioned it in a stream before but it seems that plan was scrapped, it wouldn't be as bad if they would make it to where the killer doesn't get stuck in the wiping animation/ or having the cool down be less after they used dead hard on you

What I'm about to say is something that a lot of people forget:

    THIS IS A GAME

So I don't know why so much hate sometimes. I know that a lot of people don't do (thankfully) and I know that every online game will have this kind of people, but now I'm in this forum so I'll talk about this game.

Who Cares what perks you use?

Who Cares what killer you use?

Who cares what add-ons you use?

Who cares what offering you use?

You are playing for YOUR enjoyment.

Who cares If you are a Trickster with NOED , good add-ons and pink Mori?

Or if you are a Nea with DH, BT, DS and UB and BnPs and Haddonfield?

    Hope you people understand me.

    :D

It never did matter what anyone ran or what killer was played in game the problem comes with salty people who make excuses and want the game to cater to them instead of using different strategies, it must be boring to be those people that run the same build every game and complain about everything under the sun and refuse to adapt

  • Intertwined Fate: Every time you M1 a survivor you gain a token up to a maximum of 4 tokens, once you gain 4 tokens you hold the active ability button to instantly regress 25% of every generator with more than 25% progress and it starts regressing, Also has an additional effect that when a survivor fails a skill check while on a generator it causes any generator with progress to explode and start regressing.

  • On indoor maps zombies are a pain because you just round a corner and there they are, it's either get hit by the zombie or get hit by nemesis, but on most maps they're pretty easy to deal with if you stay aware of your surroundings, honestly I think that on bigger maps one more zombie should spawn in

  • @Blueberry said:

Still skeptical on Pain Resonance. 4 hooks is just so pitiful, especially on larger maps. You're gonna miss a lot of potential value.

Now if it was 5 hooks we might be talking. Or even better, keep it 4 but make it also include basement hooks. That would have potential as well. QoL change as well, but Scourge Hooks shouldn't be breakable by any means, toolboxes, perks, dead player ect. They should be permanent.

If that's the case then survivors should get to see which hooks are scourged in exchange so they don't attempt to sabo them and send a bug report

  • @Tr1nity said:

Is there a cheat that prevents you from entering a chase so that you can run infinites without the windows being blocked?

    Just went against that.

If someone has good distance on you at shack that can happen

  • @Gamedozer7 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2633688#Comment_2633688

Even if it takes you the same time to go to a totem blessing it and healing as if you would of self cared anytime its used by any survivor after that is time gained on the survivor side. And ill say it again boons cover a 48m bubble and thats alot. It would take a survivor 12 seconds to run from one end of the boon zone to the other.

That's fine that you feel that way but I'm old school I'll run adrenaline and gen rush unless I'm being chased because that's how the doors are gonna get open, Ive got 10,000 hours in this game not that it matters but I've seen the way BHVR does things and this to me feels like they released a perk that has benefits but it stalls the game into a grey area when multiple survivors have it and hand the killer pressure because it gives them more time and that's your best friend when playing killer because every second counts in this game

  • The problem is the salty person who lost starts bringing it up in the end game complaining, the real resolution would be to say gg and move on like an adult that can handle losing in a video game

  • @Labrac said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2633664#Comment_2633664

Resetting is never a waste of time if you do it correctly. It literally gets rid of all the pressure killers have.

Also boons cover a large area, stop pretending you have to run an insane distance to get to them. 2 boons can effectively cover half of the majority of the maps.

You have your opinion I have mine, it's fine to disagree, I think boons are a waste of time the match could be over way faster if you didn't even worry about it, they're only good if one survivor has it that way multiple people can still be on gens but even then you could add up the time it took to find the totem, bless it, then reset and it would equal the same as if you did a gen with that time and it can make the difference between escaping or not late in the game when resources have all disappeared

  • @Labrac said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2632887#Comment_2632887

I've never seen a team do the situation you described. Most of them have 1 or 2 survivors placing boons.

Also you're conveniently forgetting the time CoH buys you by allowing survivors to heal themselves stupidly fast, which by default also extends chase time, makes killers have to overcommit to chases and overall makes survivors more efficient on gens because they don't have to search teammates to heal, and working on gens is easier when you're not injured.

Wrong because then everyone feels safe healing and keeps running to the totem and resetting instead of just grinding out the gen, and it's only insanely fast if someone is healing you or you made your build around it , even then you're wasting time by resetting meanwhile someone is keeping the killer busy and using resources, the more you reset the more safety you lose and if the killer snuffs that totem you're spending a whole damn gen to go to the totem, rebless and then reset, people can play how they want but it doesn't change the fact that it makes you inefficient and too much time is wasted

  • @Gamedozer7 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2633047#Comment_2633047

Well I'm sure not trying to gen rush out thats just boring and there's no point in playing if thats the plan. I'll stick to how I play lighting my boons and running the killer around you know enjoy playing.

You're missing the point , you can play however you like I'm pointing out that people are wanting this nerfed whenever there are strategies way stronger than using boons

  • @Gamedozer7 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2632887#Comment_2632887

See the thing is if you was 25 finding and setting up a boon to heal your self you've already mand up time sure someone could of healed you in 16 seconds but then they arent doing gens so you've already got the advantage that it only takes one person to heal at normal speed now and thats what makes CoH so efficient. Its not the exact time but the face that your not taking someone else off a gen to heal you which you have to also factor into the time.

But you're essentially just using it to self-care , you're wasting all that time just to stay healed only someone boosted would worry about that the whole match, running resilience and adrenaline with gen rushing will end a game way faster and more than likely you'll all survive if gens are the focus compared to boons where resources are being wasted while people are rubbing themselves in the same part of the map every time, the longer you're in a match the more your survival chances drop do the math on the boons and time wasted when blessing and healing, it sounds good and has a nice effect but it's really not worth it when you add up all the time wasted from a four man with boons

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2632999#Comment_2632999

You can? I tried it briefly as Trickster but couldn't; maybe I was just doing it in the wrong spot.

Oh yeah and it's glorious when they realize it , when you go to either corner start on the side looking down at the corner and try to use the bump up you get from collision on the corner and turn back towards gallows it's like turning and walking up a ramp once you get used to it

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

The slugging bug is an exploit, and if people abuse it you can report them for it.

Bodyblocking a hook is specifically not a bannable offence. Hit them and move on.

Tractor wheels can be walked up by the killer. Rocks can be climbed by the killer. The only issue is the one on Saloon, as the killer cannot get up and iirc you can't hit someone in the middle of it. All others can be countered quite easily until they're fixed- with the tractor likely to remain as-is as it's been called a tech by the devs on several occasions.

"Using I-frame glitches" may I interest you in David King's level 35 Teachable Perk "Dead Hard"?

Also, no infinities currently exist in the game ever since the nerfing of Myers' House for any killer except Huntress, Trickster, and Slinger, with whom House of Pain is the only true infinite remaining in the game

Actually you can get on the cart at the saloon, anywhere a survivor can get the killer can too but as for the slugging bug yes that should definitely get fixed , the cart at saloon you just use the corner of the cart and kinda work your way up there I got three down at once with Leatherface they were all t bagging up there thinking I didn't know about it

  • Unpopular opinion: Boons aren't busted they actually make survivors weaker from the time wasted, If 4 survivors ran boon perks let's say they instantly know where totems are it could take 5-10 seconds each to get to it then you have to bless them so 14×4 if there are no hexes is 56 secs blessing time, and if they do it just twice that's 112 secs to bless plus 40 secs for combined time to find totems equals a total of 152 secs or 2 minutes and 32 seconds of time essentially not doing Jack #########, killers keep throwing up "but they can just relight the totem!" Yea and while they're wasting all that time gens aren't popping Ive gotten to where I hate boon players when I'm playing survivor, too much time wasted on the totems and my killer matches have never been easier when people try to run that trash. Just do the damn gens I promise your chances of survival increase when boons aren't there.

  • I disagree survivors have enough safety if anything survivors need to learn to utilize their resources instead of braindead dropping every pallet they come to, nothing irks me more when I'm playing survivor than a teammate who just stands in every pallet and drops it as soon as the killer comes. Windows need to be utilized more, there are window loops that are crazy strong if you run them correctly

  • This is a ridiculous excuse honestly, you could have the best PC in the entire world and still be trash at the game, just last night I had a random trash talk console before the match and the console players were competent while the guy bashing them got downed in 5 seconds and DC, even without him we all escaped and then he tried to trash talk the killer in the endgame 🙄, it comes down to you're either good at the game or you're not

The PTB doesn’t need to be constantly updated… if it’s broken to the point where it needs to be taken down, so be it… BHVR should TAKE IT DOWN and then work their butts off to fix it before their live date.

They're tweaking things based off of bugs and what not happening it's normal to have a few changes during it to adjust this is nothing new, also I don't think old gen consoles can handle the ptb it's a little more unstable than the normal version and I'm sure anyone who has played on there would agree, but even if they could handle it you should blame your platforms for not allowing them to make tweaks without getting approved which can take a while with Sony usually taking the longest.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2627545#Comment_2627545

5-7 day turnaround is hogwash. There is absolutely no good reason why BHVR can’t get the game files approved by the console companies well ahead of time, since the PTB is a PLANNED event.

It's because the devs are constantly updating during the ptb and altering things and they have to get approval for everything they change on consoles the ptb would have to last a month for all that to go through in time

  • Those damn survivors, who the hell do they think they are running perks

  • A boon that lets you vault windows and drop pallets 20 percent faster and increases all stun durations by 2 seconds in a 24m range, and a different Boon that reveals all killer and survivor auras in the 24m range of the boon

  • They just need to remove the game from switch and replace it with the mobile version of the game and lock mobile and switch together in cross platform, nobody should have to lessen the frames because you're trying to run dbd on what's essentially just a tablet , either save your money and upgrade or uninstall the game if you don't like it

  • People are always complaining and even when devs respond to people they get ######### on for trying to interact I expect it to come up in the next Q&A but until then I don't blame them for not addressing this

  • I don't think it was a cheater but I could be wrong, most of the time when someone is hacking they'll eventually come out and make it obvious to you, there were a few questionable moments I saw but that could've very well just been that person playing smart with distance, I'd say it was a Smurf though more than likely the answer is they've watched jrm, ayrun, dowsey, or otz doing the hardcore survivor challenge and decided to give it a go

It sucks for people like me who are stuck at work while all the codes are going out because by the time I get home none of these will work anymore lol

  • Noed doesn't need a nerf and boons don't even really need a nerf but if I was gonna change anything to make the game better for both sides it would be to make them limited to 2 times so you bless a totem, it gets destroyed, you only can do it one more time in the trial, that's stops killers from complaining about nonstop boons and it stops survivors from wasting the whole match blessing totems and getting their team killed because they aren't doing the objective.

Yes I agree punish them for using discord to get a upper hand on a player who is by himself without any kind of help what so ever.......yes I am half joking here....there needs to be a fix to SWFs that makes everyone happy.....right now SWFs are the real thorn in everyone's sides.

Speak for yourself I don't have an issue with it and I've been here since day 1, people are just a bunch of cry babies who can't handle not getting a 4k every game and it's the same people who think they can use the same build every single game and should never have to adjust it to win, just bring bot matches to the game so they can feel good about themselves trouncing an A.I. squad, half this community is so entitled and egotistical that they refuse to believe they could've done anything different to get the W and that's where the real problem lies in this game, and I'm not directing this towards you so I apologize if it comes out that way.

  • Honestly she's fine how she is right now but I don't like the add on that gives her killer instinct during phase because it literally takes all the skill away and it becomes pretty brainless

  • Hopefully they're gonna release new mori animations for killers, unfortunately knowing BHVR they'll be like 15 dollars in the store

  • Neither should be nerfed, the way to fix all this would be to adjust killers who don't have map pressure and give them a ability that allows them to get to gens faster across the map, but in order to do that you may have to slightly nerf them at the same time as buffing them, there are a handful of killers who are fine how they are and it's really the ones with no map pressure that need adjusted , BHVR has always stated that some killers are meant to be beginner friendly and playing them gets the training wheels off for a better killer example: if you play wraith alot you'll eventually get in situations where you're not fast enough or strong enough to compete with good survivors but if you use what you learned on wraith and start playing spirit it's like the next step up from wraith because she does everything better than him, to me that's where the issue lies is the devs using "beginner friendly" killers as a excuse for not buffing the lower tier killers to where they should be and people don't want to be stuck with the same 4-5 killers when you have an entire list of them at your disposal, with the lowest tier killers you're basically hoping good survivors make mistakes to win and that's not a good formula.
