I'm betting that NOED is gonna start becoming more common due to the survivors wanting totems to stay up, end game builds are going to spike in popularity.

yeah i'm on wifi and what is a nat type?
no point in my trying to get any ethernet cables before i get into my uni dorms
Go to settings and test your network connection , it will reveal your NAT type and you can look online for ways alter that through manual settings, if your NAT type is 3 it's gonna be giving you issues , NAT type 1 or 2 is what you're wanting
-
By the way that this post read I would say that's the correct choice for you, hopefully you get well soon
-
If I'm running that build I'm playing a killer like nurse or blight that's going to end it way faster

its literally hurting my self-esteen, while i have 4k+ hours in the game i still go against people around 20-100 hours and still manage to lose, even tho its a killer i have no experience with, its literally mocking me saying "haha you suck at this game so we're going to match you with survivors as bad as you" and then proceed to lose to then and feel even worse, its such humiliaton....anyway everything around this game is based on humiliating your opponent so i guess there's nothing i can do about it
The best advice I can offer is if the chat bothers you turn it off and just have fun in anyway you can, don't let the behavior of people in the game upset you try to see the humor in it and in a different light, run meme builds and make yourself laugh or just give that behavior back to the survivors that are doing you that way , I quit letting this game and the people in this community get under my skin a long time ago, and as @Clowning said your value as a person isn't determined by the game

You write a novel. Clearly you took offense.
Just because I explained my opinion on a gaming forum intended to put your opinion on doesn't mean I took offense think what you want it doesn't bother me a bit I could honestly care less what you think about me

You’re literally the person you described. You’re extremely egotistical and take offense that I said not to be toxic lol.
I don't take any offense to it you can insult all you want I don't mind a bit, I just don't consider the same stuff toxic

Camping and tunneling can both be detrimental depending on who you tunnel (a good survivor will still run you for a ungodly amount of time if your not a good killer, camping against a team that at least two run kindred isn't gonna go well for the killer).
Skillful in the sense that the counterplay is as easy as the tactic. Tunneling is difficult to do against good players, but against good players they will know how to swap hooks ect. Camping takes minimal skill, but sitting on gens takes minimal skill. Their skill curve is fairly even. This is talking about competent players though, which most aren't. But should we balance around incompetency? I don't think so
The skill is know when and who to camp/tunnel to get the best results. See a really good survivor in a ######### position? face camp that ######### and make it so that the other 3 potatoes are gonna die if they don't sit on gens right away. See a teammate take an unsafe unhook without BT? Go for that survivor and ensure they die. Again, it's all situational. Saying it, as a blanket statement, takes no skill is very reductionist.
You can make whatever type of reasoning you want but the fact of the matter boils down to two things and two things only , either A: You're a low tier killer who is unable to apply enough pressure to stop genrush by design, or B: You're not as good as the people you're against and have to resort to those tactics just to keep up pressure instead of doing it normally. Im not saying Its wrong to do that by any means but the only time people play like that is when they feel helpless and are getting outplayed to begin with
-
Just bring franklin's Denise and destroy the flashlight
-
The tentacle is trash anyway it's easy to dodge and if a survivor is smart they can pick up a vaccine at the beginning and carry it with them to extend their first chase a whole extra hit, those vaccines when used correctly can completely ######### him over preventing any type of early pressure

Sounds like a player adapting his strategy to the circumstances.
Sounds like a player who is out of his league, I wouldn't call them baby killers but they obviously aren't good enough to pressure the people they're facing when they get in that situation and have to resort to that, which I'm not gonna complain about because it's totally within the rules for them to do so, but let's not pretend that playstyle is skillful
-
I get what you're saying , in some maps the killer can literally find 3 gens and stand in a area watching all of them at once the swamp used to be bad about this , but it's absolutely possible to win it just takes alot of patience and bouncing back and forth on the last three gens , like someone else mentioned the killer can't chase you all at once so there's always time to progress the gens the problem is when people are impatient and end up getting hooked and giving the killer pressure

Oh please don't come with semantics. It's all a form of mental Provokation and therefore BM (aka bad manners).
The killer ascertaining his "dominance" by nodding over a freshly downed survivor, rubbing in the helplessness of a hanging survivor by repeatedly hitting or survivor with their tbagging or flashlight clicking to show their superiority/feeling of safety against the meant to be threat/edge on a being they normally should lore wise be afraid of.
It all shows a certain kind of mentality behind the controls and is taken mostly in a negative way. (Since gestures that have no clear distinction for their several maybe intended uses but are connected to something negative are most often taken as such.)
I'll come with it all day , it's a game and all these people are here for fun it literally doesn't affect you what happens in game unless you're one of those egotistical players who thinks they're the best ever and gets all up in their feelings over some pixels humping the ground which is pathetic, the way people get offended and can't brush off a loss or any of what you listed in the first post is whats wrong with this game everyone is soft and cries their eyes out over everything, I'm out here for fun there are plenty of times I've made friends with people Ive done that to and who have done it to me because what happens in game isnt a personal attack on your family that you have to rush to the forums to whine about

Its always the good players that gets ######### by the ######### ones :(
This is the harsh truth with this game, it turns into a situation where you're only as good as your randoms/teammates , you could run the killer for five minutes straight and if no one does the gens how much did it really matter ?
-
@Katie_met said:
I agree. I main survivor and I lobby dodge key users. Either the killer will be toxic because of the key (understanding, but still makes the game difficult to win if someone is tunnelled out) or they just ditch the whole team and leave you to die.
Key users suck and it's 100% the most skill-less thing in this game.
They just need to remove keys and let the hatch stay how it is now where the killer can close it and it only opens if you're the last one alive
-
No it's not abusing anything, abusing is when survivors knew wake up was bugged giving speed increases across the board to everything and swf would all run it every game
-
@pizzaduffyhp90 said:
my suggestion would just have one perk for a swf squad basically every survivor needs to have different perks. If you're solo you won't have a limit cause you ain't in a swf. So if you have a swf in your game and you're the solo player the limit won't affect you.
Your suggestion would kill the game because not every SWF is team oracle or the depip squad and with a change like that people would either drop the game or do like before swf and keep queing up as a solo until they got their friends in the group and then que times would be an hour long for the killer.

I'm sorry you can't stand still to mind game anymore 🙄

Like I haven’t played a killer match in ages where every survivor didn’t relentlessly attempt to bully me, flashlight click, tea bag whenever they do anything, finish gens in my face, follow me everywhere I go to force a tunnel, and just sit at exit gate til EGC happens. Like I haven’t had a non toxic match in probably months. I’d say since March.
Nothing but the end game chat and other offenses you get banned for are toxic, it doesn't matter what they do in game , even if you facecamp that survivor and nod the whole time you aren't toxic, and finishing gens is part of the game just because you show up as it pops and they don't let you kick it doesn't make them toxic.

But I have reported the same cheater 3 times with video evidence and using their steam URL and I still ran into them. What else do we do? I still report cheaters but it is likely not to do anything.
People have been reporting a certain hacker (I can't name unfortunately) for at least two years I know of and they are still at large even using the name they're known by and BHVR hasnt done a thing, also someone has been selling dbd hacks and streaming themselves using them and still nothing is done
-
Well I wouldn't know because I've only been seeing blight, nurse and spirit for the last few days and they're more worried about applying pressure on the other survivors not on the hook, so I guess if you know it's a bad killer that has to resort to those tactics to get even a kill then what you're saying is correct
-
Spirit mains are gonna be fine because most of the survivors complaining are gonna still get clapped anyway
-
We don't know anything about boon totems yet except they're for the survivor and even if it's strong it won't be a bad thing , they're about to rework alot of killer add ons and I'm sure some buffs will come for certain killers to be able to adjust to whatever it is , it's no coincidence they're reworking that at the same time as boon totems are coming out, I've played clown to rank 1 this season even though I'm a nurse main and I'm not gonna sit here and pretend like I'm the best or I never lost because I got rushed on a few different times but I think that they might be buffing a majority of the killer roster and use boon totems as a reason so survivors don't pull out the pitchforks, you have to give survivors something strong if you ever want to justify buffing killers to the devs that's just the way it's always been.
-
I've been seeing too many lately 4 in the last 2 days , they run every perk in the game but amplified and at the end game it shows zero perks.
-
@NomiNomad said:
Am I the only one that thinks Boon totems won't affect the entire game, still? Especially if their perks? I really think they will only affect the one survivor. I could be wrong though, who knows.
I just really doubt they will be anything as powerful as mitigate regression. I could easily be wrong though.
I think you're right and it's an overreaction by the community as usual, people should be hoping these are good in some way so it can shake the meta up a bit, people worrying about ######### like this and turning into a bigger deal is exactly why this game is starting to grow stale and it's why the meta has been the same for survivors for like 3 years now, all while the killer meta has shifted in the past year in my opinion, I'm honestly hoping they're meta shifting from how strong they are with the excuse that the survivor has to take away time to create the totem and they're destroyable by the killer, if people would just let things play out before they overreact we could have really nice things for both survivor and killer.

Nurse + Doc would imo be the most busted combo.
Doc protects the best 3 gen with shocking only while nurse has free reign to kill everyone.
Lol imagine nemesis and pinhead together with the zombies and chain hunt to deal with on top of the killers themselves, or nurse with pinhead would also be a nightmare
-
From DC I would like either Scarecrow, Bane or Croc
From Marvel I'd choose either Carnage, Dr Octavius, Sandman, or the Scarlett Witch
-
Haddonfield is fair as long as it's not a 4 man squad all with balanced landing, in that case only nurse, spirit, hag, or blight stand a chance and I put hag in there because her traps can shutdown the strong loops if you use them the right way but other killers are pretty much SOL against a squad on the map and you have to rely on dirty tactics to pull out the W. I've heard people say trapper can do good on there but if they're smart survivors you aren't winning on that map with the trapper , trapper can't teleport to those traps and if you just run at the trapper right out the gates on any map it's a W for the survivors because he has no setup time that way
-
If we're talking true genrush I'm gonna ditch the key for a Commodus Toolbox with wire spool+scraps and run built to last, streetwise, prove thyself, Also if you can get more than one person to run this you can pop gens in 20 seconds and that's just with one other survivor and the toolbox will last through 2-3 gens of use , alot of people don't understand how op toolboxes still are when everyone runs that sort of thing, everyone running streetwise+built to last with a toolbox is broken AF

Pretty much what's said here, It's fun being toxic I enjoy being toxic and people being toxic to me I see the humor in it and don't have an ego about the game I'll laugh at it either way and let the ego maniacs get bent out of shape, I won't be toxic in the chat however Im always respectful to the people I was in the match with because at the end of the day were all just trying to have fun.

I obviously can't get confirmation on this but I'm like 60/70% sure family share accs get auto banned if they are sharing a game when the owner is game banned
Or at the very least BHVR/Steam has the tools to do that if it's the case.
But what if it's not the owner banned and it's one of the alt accounts? I don't think they could ban the original account for that
-
The only way that holding w works is if they already have a big distance between you and the killer and in that scenario it's absolutely on the killer for being braindead and commiting to that chase over gen pressure with a big amount of distance already there, if the distance isn't already there then holding w doesn't work which is why when Tru3 did the experiment he put the survivor half a damn map length ahead of him because he knows also it doesn't work unless you commit to a bad chase like he did with a survivor halfway across red forest because he knew in that scenario he would be right
-
🥱.
-
When people blame perks its because they're the ones that are trash , you're using what is legally allowed in game only to be treated like you're cheating at the end when they see your load out, people who complain about perks are the problem with this game because Everytime a meta shifting perk comes out they cry for it to be nerfed before they can even see how its gonna change the dynamic, THEN those very same people will come to the forums and cry they're tired of seeing the same old meta and want to nerf that as well, so basically they want you to run nothing and then they're still gonna find ######### to complain and make excuses about.
-
People who are too scared to play the game really irk me , I get stealth is a playstyle and I respect that when people are actually trying to get things done and help out but people that do nothing ruin the game for the other three survivors all it takes is one person not doing anything and you will all die against a good killer, I think if someone hasnt done an objective of gens, unhooking, healing, totems, or getting chased etc.. within a 40 second timeframe then your aura should be revealed to the killer for being a liability for your team and only in situations where at least three or more survivors are alive and no one is slugged so it can't be abused
-

360'ing isn't easier with an analogue stick?
You can 360 just as easy on console but the difference is that a PC 360 isnt as tight and what I mean is on console it's like spinning a toy top, its moving still but at the base it's almost in the same position the whole time, on PC you're spinning and your character position is making a wider circle you're actually moving position while performing it, that's why on PC it feels easier to hit console survivors in up close situations because they don't get the distance from their spins like the kb and mouse offers
-
Majority of nurse players don't stick to her long enough because of the bugs, I'm pretty confident in my ability with her although I won't go as far as to say I'm the best , but I can agree with the fact that it's rare to face god tier nurse players in the current state of DBD but it's because they would rather pick up one of the many other killers and have more fun than to suffer the hazing you get from trying to master nurse with all the options available these days, that being said I kinda agree with your opposition also because I've started to play other killers recently due to the fact that I can't remember the last time I lost with nurse like I said I'm not the best by any means but I've got 10,000 hours in this game so my opinion comes from my experiences, but just because I have an opinion doesn't make it fact and you're free to believe what you want.

(facepalm)
I never even talked about how hard of easy matches are. All I'm saying is that there is no MEASURE of skill now. Nothing you said has anything to do with measure of skill. I'm not talking about winning or losing a single match. I'm saying there is no tracking of individual progress.
There was no measure of skill to begin with if that's the point you're making, if you're saying the old ranking and matchmaking measured skill then this has to be a bait post or you just started the game a few months ago
-
So which is it then? There's the narrative that SBMM makes your games a sweatfest now, and here you are saying it's non competitive and you're out, I don't think there's any difference in gameplay other than I'm paired with solo players that actually have brain cells now, my killer gameplay has been normal I've been to rank 1 killer every reset since the game dropped and I can honestly say I notice zero difference in the survivors I get
-
This is just low quality bait at its finest

I didnt mean the cheaters themselves, per se. I know they get banned eventually after months or years of constantly getting reported.
But the fact that speed hacking and all the other stuff that was around a couple years ago is still used today leaves only two conclusions: Either they are ignored or the devs are literally incapable of handling them. Both options are pretty sad imo.
They should have a system that autodetects things in game like for example if you just immediately keep popping up after being downed the game should be able to detect nobody used for the people and it was impossible to get up that fast and there's no bug causing it then autoban for the obvious cheating

I agree with that (my pipe dream from the OP)
But the specific line I was responding to was: "Many players already attribute their losses to playing against SWF instead of attributing their losses to mistakes they made."
So seeing it wasn't a SWF, they at least won't complain that it was a SWF. Sure, they will still complain. But it won't be because of SWF. In that case it'll be, "Survivor perk OP nerf now" or "The map sucks."
Are these people going to admit their own shortcomings? Probably not. But should the rest of us not have something just because a thin-skinned person can't handle it? That's where I have a problem. Loud mouths are going to be loud regardless, we shouldn't placate them.
I agree with that I'm just fed up with all the adult children in this community that have the ego I was speaking of, anything and everything you did in game was toxic and you dishonored their family by escaping and now they have to let you know about it lol
-
Play badham preschool and have all survivors bring no mither, unbreakable, breakout, and head on and play a bloodied blueprint to spawn basement in shack all with sabo toolboxes and just keep running to the downstairs of the school and head on the killer and make sure to keep going down in the downstairs and continually break each other out and just keep running back downstairs lol it's pretty hysterical
-
My theory is it was shadow nerfed because there for a while if you brought that perk you were almost guaranteed to find a key in one of the chests

Oh really? We still have people hacking movement- and action speeds, flying, self hooking etc. These have been ignored for years! The variety only ever increased with new added mechanics (like 5 minute headon stuns and kicking animation from victor).
They haven't been ignored those people get banned but the problem is it's probably not their real account that they're using and it's so easy to make a new account , if you're hacking you're gonna have everything immediately anyway so there's really nothing they're losing by doing it , there is no way for BHVR to stop that its more on easy anti cheat than it is BHVR because that's supposed to detect the files and prevent the game from loading it up
Edit: I would also like to point out that by never using their main accounts and constantly using backups they don't have to buy the game over and over because they can literally use file sharing on steam and only the account hacking is gonna be banned , I watched a guy Livestream hacks the other day for like 6 hours he got banned on one account and immediately logged in the other and kept streaming

Wouldn't being able to see at the end that they weren't against a SWF lessen that?
No because there is always an excuse in this game and for some reason most of the players have this ego like theyre the best to ever play the game and they would rather insult and make excuses than admitting they made mistakes that cost them the match
-
Yea I didn't get them either I was kinda upset at first but I'm sure it will be fixed in a few days
