The sound notification doesn't mean they spawn near the gates. I found only one gnome, when I was playing Killer. It was inside a jungle gym, close to a hook. I got it like five seconds before the end of the EGC—I even stopped to hunt Survivors to look for it. It seemed they were looking for it too and left at the very end.
As a Survivor, which is my main role, I never found any. I got the gnome at my first Killer game, but the hundred games I've done as Survivor? I never spotted a single gnome.
I don't know what role you played when you missed it, if it was Survivor, I'd suggest to switch to Killer to see if you find it more easily. I think the gnomes spawn anywhere, but a starting point: look objectives (hook, generator, totem), the gnomes might spawn near them!
Good luck!

Balanced Landing, as I started to play with Nea, then I unlocked the teachables from everyone.

None yet, but I think it'll be Oni. He's my favorite Killer.

Sounds like a group of players who wanted to be mean. Don't listen to them, if they escaped without being hooked, I'm sure they'd say something as well.
But not all players are like this.

No, Fast Track and Smash Hit are both pretty decent. Steve, Quentin, Ace, and Ash are all bottom-tier picks with their native perks, and Leon might be joining them in that pile pretty soon.
Exactly what I think.

I don't know if that's true or not. I know that adult horses definitely can lay down and stand back up again, because my friend owns several and she sends me pictures of them all the time. I don't know about babies though.
However I assume, since the person that took the was a vet, that even if something had gone wrong they would've been able to help. As far as I know the lil horsey is okay.
I see, thanks for sharing. I've learnt something!

I... I'm worried. Horses can lie? I thought if they did, they were unable to stand up anymore.
This is actually very difficult to write it in English, I hope what I say makes sense.

Hello. I'm a nice Survivor. I'm doing my best to help my teammates without being mean to the Killer.
I know sabo is a tactic, but I don't use it... As I think it's not something Killers like. As I don't like camping nor tunneling. I also don't use keys, unless I have a challenge tied to it—and then, I use it after the Exit Gates are opened.
I'm not judging people who use the tactics I avoid, but I'm thinking about the fact I don't like two strategies from the Killer side... So I don't use two strategies from my own side. I mean, does it make sense? 🙈

There was a massive bonus for less-experienced killers in MMR, in that you have a unique rank with each killer. So even if you've been catapulted to purple ranks playing Spirit, you can move over to like Trapper and you won't be automatically paired with red ranks, it will think you're a 'new Trapper' and pair you with lower 'ranks'.
I think MMR will be great for non-expert killers, and will in turn lead to more people playing killer.
I will play Killer more when MMR will be live. For now, it's pretty hard for me as I'm pretty new to the role and always paired with purple and red. (I'm a Brown rank Killer.)
I'm super excited by the MMR. I do hope to find people of my level, or slighty better, but something I can work with.

I didn’t bother listing any killer ones as they can change drastically depending on which killer I’m playing lol.
The first build is exactly the build I use on Zarina!

That's the thing though, there's four lit totems. Someone's gonna cleanse and that first one is always a coin flip whether they get something good or Spoopy Grounds. I always get a laugh when I get it to proc twice because of Undying.
Such a good strategy!

Combined with Jill's Resurgence, I'd say Self Care is going to come into play more now than ever before in red ranks. Same with totem/locker builds.
By itself, yes I think its incredibly weak and a time waste. You're going to be seeing some self care/locker builds after the chapter release so I'd just say, get used to it cause Self Care players aren't going to stop anytime soon lol.
Resurgence, Self-Care, Resilience: you 99% your health, you jump onto a generator, you finish the last 1% if the Killer comes to you. I can see it being used a bit.

I'm glad our community will get the charm. It was needed IMO.
But man, when I saw the double BP event was only for mobile, I was like... Why not all platforms? What did we do? 😭
-
When I watched my partner playing. He told me he found a game for us to play for Halloween and he shown it to me, to be sure I wanted to play.
I was so excited. I never played a horror-themed PVP game before. I bought the game right after and we played like 50 hours together before he dropped the game—as it was only for Halloween.
First memory is me being excited because I was like, "there is a big guy following you! Oh my, that's terrifying!".
-
Nea. My partner bought me the Silent Hill chapter like a week or two after I've started to play and Cheryl became my main.
But I started my very first games as Nea. Her fashion spoke to my teenagehood.

I don't being special item anymore. I've had a Claudette who crouch to ask me to heal her.
I had a Lunar box with me.
As soon as I approched to heal, she dropped a green key on the ground. Instead of healing, I took the key... She got my box and ran away.
The only time in my life I teabagged. When the Pig (who ignored me the whole trial for some reason) Moried Claudette, I teabagged her corpse.
I thought I would take back my box but it was nowhere... I escaped without it...

I've been having a ton of fun running Undying, Haunted Grounds, and Devour Hope. The fourth perk I change out based on mood or killer needs but it tends to be BBQ, STBFL, or Pop.
No Ruin for Survivors thinking there is Haunted and not cleansing Devour before it activates?
I mean, when there is no Ruin, I always think there is Haunted and I usually don't touch the Hex. 👀

People saying it's "bad" don't understand the logistics of a good logo design.
This is leagues better than it was.
But there is a difference between knowing what does a good logo and what we like.
I think I'm super biased: I like changes. I like fresh start. So, I immediately liked the new logo because... it's new. OK, not only because it's new, but it's one of the factors which makes me like it.
Some people don't like changes, and the simple fact it was changed altered their judgement. Like the fact it's new altered mine.
If I try to think out of my comfort zone, I'd say it's alright. The name of the game is big enough to be read from away, the logo is still recognizable... Nothing fancy nor unique, so it's simply alright.
(If you have something to add about the design, I'd like to read about it. I'm no graphic designer but I'm super interested.)
-
I'm gonna P3 the three of them. Cheryl will stay my main, but I think I'll add Jill and Leon to the roster of Survivors I play.
I like to change who I play from time to time.
For Nemesis, I don't know yet. I don't play a lot of Killer games... But I did enjoy Plague when I tried her out, and his power seems similar to hers. So, I'll see!
-
@NoelleMina I love so much your selfies with the Killers. Pretty good ones! Can we have more? 🙈

October 2020. My partner told me he found a game for us to play during Halloween. We like to play horror games during Halloween.
Of course, as we were playing together, we went on the Survivor side.
After Halloween, he dropped the game but I kept playing it. I was used to the Survivor role... I tried to play Killer as well.
Rank 20 against purple and red each time. So... I'm waiting the MMR now to be back to play Killer a little bit. When I play Survivor, my matchmaking is fine most of the time.
I'm a Survivor main because it's the first role I've played and... I quite like it too.
-
I used Dead Hard before, but I decided to switch for Sprint Burst yesterday. Also, I used Spine Chill before, but I felt I had to learn distance before going with a fast vault build.
I think I play Iron Will since I unlocked the teachable, which was like within the first week after I started to play. If I had to keep only one perk, it'd be Iron Will. Resilience is a close one, as it gives me a huge reason to stay injured and being bold.
I was a bit nervous about using Sprint Burst, I thought I'd have to walk everywhere... Actually, I use it to go faster to a generator to another, to get a save when the Killer went away, etc. It's useful outside of chases, the reason I like it. I feel it'll help me improving to loop as I wouldn't be relying on Dead Hard—I had a hard time to no waste it.
-
I'm wondering what the others were doing if not finishing a single generator because a Claudette was healing herself drive you all to die.
You were all on the same generator against a Bubba? I think the smart way to play is to split up. More pressure, as the Killer can't patrol different generators in the same time.
Or you had the last generators close to each other?
I don't think it was Claudette's fault for healing herself in a corner. Especially if the four of you were still alive at this moment.

-
@Idontknowtbh It's the same for Dead Hard, Head-On, Lithe, Balanced Landing... The Killer notices quickly enough which one you have.
I started to use Sprint Burst once again today. I don't like it because I feel I have to walk everywhere... But actually, I just run when I need to. Sprint Burst is not only to gain distance to me, it's also a way to jump from a generator to another faster, to go unhooking someone faster, etc. It's not a waste not using it only for chase. I've seen people using Dead Hard to reach the Killer and get a flashlight save, for instance.
If you have Fixated, you can use it to walk faster and save your Sprint Burst if really you prefer to keep it to make distance when the Killer comes to you.
But I understand how you feel about it.

Are you able to prevent people from messaging you on PS4?
-
I did it before. I was saying something nice to the Killer each time.
Until I got insulted enough because I said GG to someone who felt I was mocking them, until the other Survivors insulted me because the Killer was a Spirit with Stridor, because a Nurse slugged us all at 5 generators...
Now, I keep the chat closed and I click immediately on Continue. I just never teabag nor anything being BM in game, as I think it's also a way to show I'm just playing and not here to bully.
-
I'd still play. I stopped to look how many pip I lost/win, I stopped to look at my rank... And I'm still playing.
At the end of a match, I click immediately on Continue to jump to the next game. I even stopped to check my teammates/opponents ranks.
I don't care about ranks. But it took me months before I stopped to care. Now, I'm focusing on improving my gameplay, no matter what happens during the game.

What's interesting to point out is they're still in the process of reworking older maps
Shortly after the woman says that, she mentions how there will be two new maps this upcoming roadmap (including the Resident Evil map)
That makes me speculate that we're getting another licensed chapter down the line
On Twitter, they said a while ago that the Killers with no map might get one after all the need-to-be-reworked maps are, well, reworked.
I do hope to see a Seoul neon city map... Uh uh.

Is GG :D better? That's what I used to say.
I just want to have a bit of a positive spin on the gg thing.
No, it's not better. Even without emoji. Because people don't have a clue about you being nice.
Also, they are upset. Seeing a message will increase their anger.
What I mean is... If these people can't handle a L, it means no matter what you will say after the match, it will increase their anger. They just took the opportunity you gave them by messaging them to say horrible things.
It even could make them like the victims. After all, you provoked them, right? (You didn't, but I think they took it as a provocation and they could try to justify their terrible words with that.)
I liked to say GG too, even if someone said "ez ez" before. But when people are angry, they take it as a provocation or a sign of superiority...

"Also, i only play solo survivor, and while i dont like tunneling and camping for no reason (yes, there are valid applications) i think its still legit."
You, this comment right here, perfectly encapsulates why this new system is going to rampantly abused. I LITERALLY LINKED YOU DIRECTLY TO BHVR'S OFFICIAL REPORT GUIDELINES PAGE and you still think filing a report for someone camping and or tunneling you is a valid reason to report. It isn't, it never has been and it NEVER WILL BE A VALID REPORT. making these false reports only serves to bloat the system.
Since you were apparently too lazy to click on the DIRECT link provided, ill just drop this snip-it here for you.
Discarded reports reasons
THE FOLLOWING ARE NOT CONSIDERED BANNABLE OFFENSES - PLEASE DO NOT REPORT
- Camping
- Slugging
- Tunneling
- Streamsniping
- Teabagging
- Bodyblocking
- Looping
This is why we can't have nice things people, people either can't or willingly don't read.
I think they were just saying the tactics are legit and non-reportable, but could be used as a report reason with an auto-ban system.
-
I was watching another official announcement for a game after the DBD one, as they were the same day. The chat was awful too. "The streamer doesn't even know how to play their own game LMAO", "Can she stop speaking I don't like her voice", "The quality of the stream is terrible buy a new PC"...
I wanted to see if the chat was the same as for DBD.
-
We should wait for more information. I can't believe we could be banned if we got X amount of reports... What about people who play Spirit, for instance? I'm sure they have hundred of reports because they played with Stridor. Or what about a Survivor who escapes without saving a teammate? It's selfish, but it's the game, you have the choice of being altruistic or thinking about yourself only. What if they do that every single game and their teammates are upset and report each time?
-
Flashlight them, it immobilizes them for a moment.

I think the Spirit part is justifiable,no one likes going againts Spirit, not acknowledging that is you also being like them but from the other side lol.
Also I agree with what everyone is saying, typing gg with a smiley face after a bad game for survivors it nothing but taunting them,be better than this if you gonna ss it and post it on the forum lol.

The messages are not even that bad,i've seen worse, maybe he just wanted some for this thread.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2217698#Comment_2217698
Yeah,like flashlights directly counters Spirit,lol.
The Spirit part is justifiable to what? I don't like to face Spirit, I don't think a lot of people do, but there is nothing to justify the words which were written. Spirit is a character everyone is free to use, Stridor is a perk everyone is free to use. I'm not saying Spirit is enjoyable to face, but it doesn't justify the hate messages.
But I do agree with the "GG :)". I think it's a way to provoke others, even if the goal behind it was just to be nice. We are behind a screen, we have no idea if the "GG :)" is a real one or a sarcastic one. And even if it's a real nice one, when being upset, it could increase the feeling of anger.
