That sucks. I thought they were no longer doing cosmetics that were exclusive to certain platforms? That didn’t last very long. 😂

  • Not every SWF plays with mics though. I play with people from all over the world, some that don't speak very good English, so we never chat on mic when playing together. Essentially we are in a solo lobby, I just play with them as I know they're good and reliable teammates.

I always find it odd that SWF gets so much hate, when as a killer, I normally find them the easiest to beat. As most of the time they play so altruistic and focus more on trying to save each other, that they don't end up doing gens and they all get killed. It's normally a lobby of solo Blendette's that you have a problem with. As none of them will leave their patch of grass to go for unhooks.

  • I don't see the issue with them personally. It's not like they're in every match. If that Blendette you've not seen all match jumps in the hatch. So what? Just take your BP and find another match. If they bother you so much you can dodge lobbies with them in or bring Franklin's.

What's funny is that people complain about Spirit and needing Iron Will, yadda yadda, when Iron Will is a strong perk against any killer. There is ample reason to use it, especially if you suck at running from a Spirit. It makes a huge difference.

As as a Spirit main that uses Stridor specifically to counter Iron Will, even then Iron Will is still good because a lot of the times chase music will drown out your cries of pain. It's really best to just find those survivors that want to hide instead of run, especially Blendettes that just disappear into the fog. But in a chase IW will have the edge.

I often run No Mither AND Iron Will, so this completely counters Stridor. I feel sorry for those poor Spirit's that use it against me. 😂

  • Iron Will is my go to perk when playing survivor.

    I'll join in too !

My favourite survivors: Jake, Jane, David, Jeff, Kate

My favourite killers: Trapper (stopped playing him recently due to gens tho :*v), Oni, Deathslinger (fell in love with that feller), Ghostface and Plague

Looking at both of your lists, I can see you have impeccable taste. We’d definitely get on well playing this game together. 😂

  • I think like most things in this game, it’s a tactic that sometimes works. It’s not a definite win. If the survivor has Unbreakable, they will stand up faster and without the aid of others. Also some teammates refuse to pick you up until they’ve finished the generator they’re on. So if that’s the case, you’ve not only lost a hook, you’ve lost a generator. It also depends on how competent the team is at chases, as you don’t know how many gens will pop whilst you’re trying to get that first down. Like I said in another thread, it’s a very situational tactic. Not something I’d recommend always doing.

  • I agree. Slugging is only useful if you know other survivors are nearby. No point going for the hook when you can get extra downs. I run PGTW in all of my builds, so slugging doesn’t really fit my play style. It’s a situational tactic for me.

  • @Fibijean said:

Are we talking tier lists or preferences?

It’s just your personal preference of who you enjoy to play as.

@AhoyWolf I am ashamed that I missed Jeff from my list. Just removed Tapp for that tatted introvert. 💙

Regarding Survivors: is that with perks or just the survivors we use most regularly?

Anyway, in orders with best first:

Survivors I use because of their base perks:

Claudette, David, Adam, Nancy and Bill.

Killers I enjoy playing with and get more positive results:

    Clown, Pig, Trapper, Leatherface, Freddy.

For survivors, I meant solely on a cosmetic basis. Although I do use a lot of perks from my top 5.

  • I think you've looked at it from the wrong perspective. Offering double BP would give people more incentive to play and it could also help to distract them from everything going on in the world right now. People cope with things in different ways, for example, when I am feeling anxious I turn to TV and video games. Giving people double BP will make their time playing Dead By Daylight more enjoyable, and in a time like this, how is a little joy, no matter how frivolous it may seem, a bad thing?

  • Some people are just entitled and stupid. My friend got a 4K last night with Doctor and a Jake with DS/DH got 9K and messaged him saying he had trash game play. Do these people not realise they're actually insulting themselves by saying these things? /facepalm

Deathslinger can also slug really well. Nurses and Monitor allow for some nasty results with the harpoon.

I second this. I slugged a Meg because somebody was looping me near her and then I saw a Blendette picking her up with Nurse's, so I harpooned her straight off and got 2 downs from it. It's not always a perfect tactic and I don't intentionally look to slug, but it can be very effective.

  • I sometimes use Iron Will, We'll Make It, Solidarity & Aftercare / Bond and it can actually lead to some great heal plays.

  • I actually laughed out loud at busty Santa.

I sometimes do similar things, like I'll take items in with rare add-ons and give them to somebody else, as I actually prefer finding items within the game, as it makes it feel more 'realistic' to me and heighten the horror experience.

I'm definitely a troll, but not an annoying one that ruins the experience of others, I just do derp things like sit and stare at people on the gen for a few seconds before I help as the survivors always look so stupid with that blank expression on their face and it really makes me laugh. I'll also continuously jump in and out of a locker if a killer is using Iron Maiden, as that's literally the best thing ever. I don't even care if they come back and down me, it was worth it.

Here's a bonus screenshot of me watching another Ash open an exit gate. They actually took the screenshot and sent it to me in a message saying that they were dying laughing. So I'm glad my trollish ways were appreciated. 🤣

I know what you mean and I'm not saying that I'm losing all the time on the contrary. My shots can be spot on already a lot of the time and I win decent portion of games I play, probably around 60%. Yet I realise that I won those games only because surviors sucked. Litterally, when I play good surviors with meta perks who loop and gen pressure well then hooking feeling like wasted time.

Improving is also the reason why I started to purely slug. With hooking I lose a lot of time that could be spent in chases or protecting gens thus improving my gameplay. Slugging allows me to get a lot more chases before gens pop so right now it's just more fun.

I mean, slugging is a viable tactic too. As it definitely gets people off gens. But sometimes no matter what you do the gens will pop. It can depend on the team, the map etc. The screen-cap I posted of my 32K was from yesterday. On that same day I also had a match where I only hooked one person before the gens were done. As I just couldn’t find anybody or pressurise the gens as the map was too big. It just happens sometimes. Have you tried experimenting with killers too? As some of them just don’t work for me. Whereas others like Deathslinger do.

  • In all seriousness though, you just need to practise. You can still win a match regardless of what the survivors perks are. You win some. You lose some. It’s just how it is. However, hooking is definitely not useless. If all the gens are popping before you get your first down, that just means you need to get better at chasing / downing. But that’ll come with time. Just don’t give up or you’ll never improve. This was a match I had last night against some of those perks you mentioned. This isn’t to brag, it’s just to show you that matches with perks like those are still winnable.

  • *cries in Pop Goes the Wiesel*

  • Those pink perks are making me so happy. I would love this so much. I’ve said for a while that I want this. It really triggers my OCD if I have 3 purple perks and 1 green, or vice versa. This would solve that problem.

There’s no logical reason why this can’t be implemented into the game.

  • Honestly, no. It’s not really like any other games I play.

  • The scary thing is, some people have fun by making other people miserable. So sadly, that’s not going to change. However, offering double BP or something would be great. As it’ll give people who struggle to play during the week days or at all some incentive to play.

I’ll continue to be nice to the people of the fog though. There’s enough toxicity in the world. I’m not going to add to it. 💙

Every killer has weaknesses, his weakness is gen pressure like i said. You managed to duke Deathslingers because they did mistakes. You have no control about if he hits you or not, since there is no reacting to that. Predicting the shot does not help either, he can react to that. There is no problem with me beeing bad or anything, i am not perfect, but definitly one of the better survivors around and a good understanding of the game overall(no braging intended, but it is just the truth). Dont get me wrong, i have no problem versus deathslinger in general, since thank god most of them are still bad with him, but those who are already decent with him show how absolutly silly strong he is. And i dont have to be a furtune teller to know that soon all of them will be at that level and some even above.

Billy is stronger because he is ver fast, has a lot of map pressure and therfore a lot more control of the game overall. In chase, lol no he is not stronger then Deathslinger. Bilyl can be looped, even really good billys with great mechanical skills can get loops at least for decent ammount of time. That is not the case with Deathslinger. Like i said, he is like old legion in a strange way.

Spirit is same as billy. She has higher mobility with her power and therfore more genpressure. In chase, Deathslinger and Spirit are equaly overpowered, but at least you have a theoretical chance to juke or mindgame a Spirit, which again, is not the case with Deathslinger.

What rank i am? As always rank 1 on both side, took me almost a day to reach it this time. Another reverence you want? I just boosted a rank 20 to rank 1 within a week. A REAL rank 20 btw :P

    Agree to disagree then.

  • @Yamaoka said:

Playing killer is just more fun to me since no one can annoy me by blocking me in a corner, farming me off the hook next to the killer without borrowed time and hiding all game which forces me to do the chases AND generators. Being the killer allows me to do what I want and the entire match comes down to MY decisions and MY experience (unless I go against a 100% perfectly organized SWF team which is as rare as an unicorn).

As survivor YOUR fun depends on the decisions and experience of 3 others. That's why solo survivor gameplay is absolute trash for the most part.

This pretty much sums up why I don’t play as much survivor as I used to. Unless I’m in a SWF. You just can’t rely on randoms in the solo lobbies. It can be such an excruciating experience lol. Plus hitting Jane and Claudette on the hook before you leave them is hilarious.

  • Killers don’t really get a second chance. One little mistake can cost you the entire game. There’s perks like Blood Warden and Devour Hope. But I wouldn’t class them as second chance perks. Considering they can both be avoided and they aren’t easy to activate at all. Lol

He can not be strong during chases, he is strong during chases. Yes he is slow and has no map pressure, and this leads to Genrush vs Ultra high kill speed. And this is in my book the most boring thing i can possible imagine in DbD.

"Plus, shouldnt be a killer STRONG?" God no, he should be ballanced in a decent way that he is fun to play as and fun to verse. I HATE playing as him, since i want to have decent chases. Whats the point in those braindead mini chases?

And no, it is absolutly not exciting to play against him, why do you think that way? Whats excited about hiding and genrushing and have 20 seconds "chases" vs a good Deathslinger?

I stoped playing survivor right now and focus only on playing killer, since this guy is absolutly uninteresting to verse (and i get him 50% of my games for obvious reasons).

    #NooldLegion2.0tyglhfbye

Like every killer, he has his weaknesses. I’ve managed to duke plenty of Deathslingers and avoid being harpooned. I think maybe the problem lies with you if you’re struggling so much against him? Spirit and Billy are a lot stronger than he is. I play him over them because I think he’s more fun. I still have to earn my 4Ks. He doesn’t just do the work for you.

What rank are you? As I’ve had plenty of high rank survivors manage to avoid being shot by me. Bait my shots at windows etc. You just need to use your brain. If you’re being destroyed by him constantly, as I said earlier, the problem is you.

Actually I really do think survivors want easy killers they can loop and bully.

It’s literally becoming a meme at this point.

Almost every SWF wants to purposely do things to try to annoy you or ruin your gaming experience. Such as chasing after YOU, flicking the flashlight, constantly fast vaulting, sitting in front of the hooks to body block etc. And then as soon as a killer comes out that can actually end a lot of these tactics, they scream OP and ask for nerfs. I strongly suggest anybody that only plays survivor, to switch to playing killer. I used to be a survivor main and a lot of my thinking changed when I started playing killer more. You realise just how entitled survivors are. I’ve received a ton of abuse messages from survivors telling me to kill myself and they hope I get cancer etc. But I’ve never received a message from a killer before. Funny ain’t it? Be better.

  • @minehot said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1161616#Comment_1161616

Why is bodyblocking a hooked survivor considered 'bullying'? Thats one of the ways to defend an hooked survivor.

Also it wound't really matter if you hear an overmap scream and you are far away from and slingshot survivor.

I know it’s a way to defend. But a lot of SWF play this game to just try to ‘bully’ the killer. Constantly chasing you around and taking hits for other people. The fact he can’t injure you until you’ve either broken free or been hit, makes him an easy killer to terrorise. As people can just keep denying you that hit. Also, you’ve neglected to mention why you want to hear people scream across the map? And how it makes your game experience any different?

  • He’s fine the way he is.

He can be strong during chases and denying loops, just like Clown can. But he’s slow and has almost no map pressure. Gens still pop ridiculously fast when playing as him. Plus, shouldn’t killers be STRONG? I’ll never understand that argument. Do people just want really easy killers to go against so they can abuse every loop, pallet and then tea bag in the exit gate? It seems a lot of people don’t like that he can end toxic gameplay. Leave Mr. YeeHaw alone. We finally have a killer that’s exciting to play as and against.

  • Why do you need to hear them scream across the map though? It’s such a random request. What does that actually do to make your game better? Lol. And my bullying comment was towards if you meant have them scream louder in general, because so many people love running in between you and the harpooned survivor to take a hit. So this will just make that a bigger occurrence.

    1. His terror radius is fine how it is. He’s supposed to be a semi-stealth killer. You literally have a Spine Chill icon which is one of the best counters for stealth killers.
    2. Why should they scream? Is it so you know when to run in between him and the harpooned survivor to stop them being hit? Seems like a typical bullying tactic. If that isn’t the reason, can you explain? As you don’t hear survivors scream across the map from basic attacks, so I don’t see why they need to scream from this.
    3. Why should he be stunned when he releases the survivor? If they aren’t injured already, they stay that way when he breaks the chain. Seems a bit unfair for him to suffer a stun for something that’s beneficial to the survivor.
  • @Clevite said:

Its similar going against a slugging killer. It sux. Just keep getting smacked down and left to bleed out.

Some people just want to give others a bad time

It’s not the same thing. You’ll eventually bleed out from being slugged. So there IS a way out of the match.

That's just a bad mindset to be in. You should play for fun, not to win. If you do get a 4K, that's just a bonus. But I won't be crying over it.

  • Stopped reading at 'nerfing some of the killers abilities'

I am all for difference of opinion, but you can't be serious with that. Survivors have DS, Unbreakable, Borrowed Time, Adrenaline, Dead Hard, Sprint Burst, Instant Heals, not to mention pallets, jungle gyms and infinite loops. This game has been and probably always will be balanced in the survivors favor. You need to seriously play as killer for a while and then tell me this thread makes sense. I've been rank 1 on both sides, so I am talking about things objectively before I get called 'killer main'

  • I only really play survivor with friends as there's too many trolls and potatoes. I like playing as killer so that I can kill the trolls and potatoes. Plus, Mr. YeeHaw. Going full on COD on the tryhards and shooting them with a harpoon is hilarious to me.

  • I personally hated the old Freddy, his ability was so annoying. I think this new one is much better and he seems stronger to play as and against. I'm not sure why people dislike him, as I personally prefer going against strong killers.

Mate I had two urban evasion/spine chill gamers left on haddonfield the other day who'd 3 genned themselves and managed to stay out of sight and away from the gens for like 20 minutes. Turned out one had a key and they were looking for the hatch but as it was near a gen it took them a while. Fun & interactive!

That sounds like such a fun game. /sarcasm

During games like that, I wish I could just fix generators for them. I'd rather them just leave and I lose a pip than aimlessly wander around a map whilst the survivors just hide. It's stupid that there's not a solution for this.

  • He looks so cool in P3, but I just don't have the energy to P3 my killers. It's so much easier to do as a survivor, as let's be real, you don't need perks to survive. Whereas a perkless killer game, although doable, is not the easiest thing in the world. Plus, I don't get to enjoy his outfit due to the first person view and all. So I just think I'm causing myself unnecessary stress. I hope one day they change it so that you don't lose your perks and add-ons when you prestige.

  • I was speaking about this last night, so it's a strange coincidence that you posted it.

I had a match with Mr. YeeHaw on Yamaoka Estate and the survivors had 3-genned themselves and it was 2 Blendette's who were left. I am not exaggerating when I say that about 10/15 minutes passed before I found one of them. Neither of them touched a single gen in that entire time and unless you're playing as Doctor, how am I supposed to see them hiding inside of bushes? I only found one of the Blendette's because she moved a tiny bit when I was nearby and I heard the grass move, but this was only because I was playing through a headset that I heard her, otherwise, God knows how much longer the match would have gone on for.

Obviously, the last Blendette got the hatch. Although legend has it that she's still sat in a bush somewhere.

  • I knew it wouldn't be long until people misused the term 'overpowered'

He's completely fine how he is. Why do you all want killers that are super easy to go against and easy to bully?

Which rare add ons are you talking about? The BNP which disappears the moment it has been used? No option to keep it. Unlike killers who can protect all of their add ons

The syringe which uses up your medkit instantly?

    Same with the Styptic agent?

Odd bulb which uses up the battery quicker and battery life isn't very long anyway.

All survivor add ons are time limited in one way or another so they have to be used sparingly. A killer gets to use them for the duration of the entire round.

I see some fairly obvious negatives there. Wipe your killer main spectacles and look properly.

    *laughs in rank 1 survivor*

The scales aren’t balanced. Maybe play killer sometime and you’ll see that for yourself. I play both evenly and I can call out BS when I see it. Survivors have it easy.

  • I’m really hoping we get an evil pirate cosmetic for Mr. YeeHaw.
