Deja Vu doesnt have a cooldown where as visionary does for some reason.

This is totally incorrect. And funnily enough I was just about to do a post praising Visionary. Both perks do entirely different things.

I’ll tag you in the post once it’s up.

What is going on? Why is there a sudden leap in the number of red ranks that are teaming up and using bond to lead the killer to the lower rank survivors?

The people doing this are flat out cheating. Why is this so common all of a sudden?

My son (he's almost 20) and I play two man swf often. Seven games in the last three days we've had red rank survivors that brought bond to shake the killer off on the other survivors. In one of those my son (who had died in the match already) actually watched the survivor I just saved from the hook point out exactly where I went so that the killer could kill me. Which he did, and then gave the cheating survivor the hatch. The Twitch streamer killer defended himself saying, "I don't want to play a game of hide and seek." Too bad for you, that's half the game!

Not everyone runs around in DBD like a chicken with their head cut off. If you don't like the stealthy style of game play some players use, go play something else that doesn't included it. If you are cheating we will report you. I hope BHVR is doing thier part to stop these cheaters.

This is why I myself run Bond often (with Open Handed). If I see someone else running towards me, I leg it first and observe them for a while from a distance to see if they’re attempting to do the dirty on me. I’ll return to my gen when I’m sure they’re not trying to be a scumbag.

My common build is Bond, Visionary, and Open Handed so I can know where I SHOULDN’T lead any chases to.

People are hard wired with “I’m right, you’re wrong”. Broadening our scope of outlook and understanding on the world is a learned skill.

In the Darkness Among Us trailer wasn't Distortion advertised to do exactly that, hide the aura of several people healing? I've been running Off the Record in my games and I'd feel very foolish if it wasn't actually hiding my aura.

In the case of A Nurses Calling, if you’re self healing, yeah your aura will be blocked during Off The Records active period.

But if you’re engaged in any team healing (or being healed by teammates), and the killer is running Nurses, your aura will be blocked (if Off The Record is active), but your teammates auras will not be blocked, making the fact your aura was blocked entirely pointless (unless those teammates healing you/you’re healing happen to also be running aura blocking perks).

  • Oh, and it’s also the one map where Blood Favour works like a dream.

  • I really don’t find this much of a problem as killer and n this map. It becomes very dangerous for survivors once many of the pallets are removed, more so than any other map in DBD.

A lot of hit n run, bait and switch to get rid of pallets fast works wonders on this map.

  • But you’re making that claim on a pittance of evidence. Have you and the OP actually played any games together?

The OP admitting that ONE skill they’re not great at in the myriad of skills needed to play survivor does not immediately equate to someone being universally bad at video games.

  • @BigFatChungus said:

I'm just making this discussion because twitter is exploding with people who loved the charm and homophobics who didn't like it.

I fully support behavior by introducing this charm. They not only shows great support from the company, but also the way that they introduced this theme to the game. In a simple and responsible way and at no time did they seem to be trying to earn social points.

But I wanted to understand more from people who don't agree with this charm. what is the problem so profound with this being in the game?

Because we haven’t advanced as a society as much as we like to believe we have.

As an example, there is more available information of just how destructive smoking is to ones health, and more and more studies emerging that vaping is just as unhealthy.

Yet there is STILL young people taking these habits up despite (in theory) knowing better.

There are constant, CONSTANT campaigns about how important it is to drive sensibly, sober, and distraction free, and TONNES of evidence (usually in news feeds) showing the devastating effects of car accidents. And yet people STILL drink and drive. People STILL use their phones while driving. People STILL disregard road safety rules/guidelines and do completely reckless things.

People are stupid. They’re destructive to themselves, and that extends to being destructive towards others.

  • To the OP, I know exactly how you feel. I absolutely HATE Wraith, Myers, and Pig’s aura reading add ons. It’s so crappy they have the ability to sneak up Undetectable but easily see where survivors are.

It’s the reason I still regularly use Sole Survivor, despite how the community perceived that perk.

Sure it sucks when a team mate dies, and I DO try to prevent that from occurring if particular survivors aren’t a waste of my time, but having 1 Sole Survivor token is a HUGE relief against these killers using their aura reading add ons.

  • @CoalTower said:

No. You're just telling us that you can't loop and camp pallets. Get good before complaining.

Not to mention that Amanda's letter and scratch mirror aren't worth running outside of meme builds.

That’s not fair. Everybody has different skill sets. I have been playing this game for YEARS and I still don’t consider myself particularly competent at chases. I may manage to keep a killer occupied, or juke them entirely once in a blue moon, but I’ve come to accept that no matter how much I practice, chases will never be a strong skill for me.

  • @Blueberry said:

What I gathered is it will light a totem in blue at the start and if the survivor can break it, it gives them a buff. Essentially like breaking a hex totem except instead of breaking it to remove the power from the killer, it buffs you instead.

    That is an interesting possibility.

But that raises my question again: if a killer decides to run 3 Hexes and Haunted Grounds, where will a Boon Totem spawn?

Will the devs possibly increase the totem count? Could a Boon and a Hex occupy the exact same totem? Both removing a killer hex, and buffing the survivor upon cleansing?

  • @brokedownpalace said:

I would think that if a survivor carries a boon perk then the trial will spawn an additional dull totem that the survivor must ignite (taking 14 seconds) to activate the perk's effect. If the killer finds it they will probably be able to crush it and deactivate the perk, maybe taking 5 seconds or so.

This way survivors get something extra to do other than objectives and survivor perks won't take away from the killer's standard 5 totems.

What I like about this concept is that if survivors find a very well hidden totem to put their boon on, it will make NOED spawn on an easier to find totem. It'll also be interesting to see how survivor and killer totem related perks interact with these new perks. Like will Thrill of the Hunt make activating a boon totem take longer? What about if the killer cleanses it? Will extra dull totems on the map add even more tokens to TotH?

Probably why we have so little info yet. There are a wealth of complicated scenarios they have to work out to avoid bugs or game breaking problems.

  • @Phasmamain said:

My guess is that you’re going to activate a dull totem to make it a boon or potentially turn a hex totem into a boon.

The killer will probably be able to break them or have to hook the survivor who made it in order to break it. This could encourage splitting hooks which is nice!

It’s hard to tell atm but I’m glad survivors will have some sort of secondary objective

I’m thinking similarly. I can’t see them being passively active right from the start of the game the same way Hexes are.

If extra points, and the fear of NOED still isn’t encouraging interaction with totems, Boons (if powerful enough) will.

  • @Mooks said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2220541#Comment_2220541

Wondering what they actually mean then?

it’s probably not just some bumps on the ground.. maybe different terrain as in sand, concrete, stone, mud? Could be very cool on swamp!

My guess is more undulating terrain. Currently the reagent offerings don’t really do enough in providing cover for survivors that want extra cover, or for stealth killers when they want extra cover. Undulating terrain would allow both sides better opportunities for cover (when wanting it).

It would be a big boon to Ghostface in particular, as it would prevent players from being easily knocked out of stealth of some maps by survivors 3 thousand miles away from him.

Looking at Jill's perks, they all seem great. LOVE Resurgence, as it saves time. Would people who run Second Wind start running Resurgence instead now?

I enjoy Second Wind, but if you have Resurgence, wouldn't it be faster while also having lower standards.

I’m looking forward to trying Resurgence with Solidarity.

If I’m unhooked by an injured teammate, and I heal them first, it’s 2 heals for the time spent healing 1.

With Better Together (in my notes at least) it should increase gen aura's to 48m from 32m for other survivors.

It currently isn’t though as I discovered.

Anyway ive logged the bug report.

  • It’s supposed to (as far as I know), but doesn’t currently seem to be working since Open Handed received its update last mid chapter

  • Additional info if it helps.

I play as David and Felix. I have used Open Handed T3 on both Characters.

So far new Open Handed is definitely working with:

    • Bond
    • Visionary
    • Kindred
    • Saboteur
    • Plunderer’s Instinct

I have used Buckle Up on BOTH Felix and David with new Open Handed, and the detectable range to see the recovery progress of dying survivors does NOT seem to be extended from 48m.

I have only been in ONE match where another player was using Better Together and the range was not extended to a 48m range.

I have only been in ONE match where the killer was running Knockout (i rarely come across it as survivor). I was running Open Handed, but dying survivor auras were still obscured to just a 16m range.

  • @Mandy said:

AFAIK yes it should extend the range, if you had it at T3, it should have gone to 32m instead of 16m range.

Can you make a bug report about this for me please, so it can get looked into properly.

    Will do

  • They’re fine. Weird hits are just lag.

This information can be redundant thought if you are paying attention or you are using a map. Bond is better for knowing where not to take the killer as well.

Yes, Bond shines best for that, but Visionary still helps serve a similar purpose (if the player isn’t a jerk).

Also it isn’t feasibly practicable for a player NOT running Bond on say Lery’s or Midwich to keep activating a map MID CHASE to know where they shouldn’t be taking a chase to. Plus once the map has run out, that’s it.

Self Preservation has the same issue for me as Unbreakable.

If you have to use it, you teammates have really messed up or the killer has started to gain a massive advantage.

    That’s exactly the point.

As a solo player I have no control over what teammates decide to do, such as (🤬🤬🤬) lead the chase to my nearly completed gen while Ruin is still up and now the killer wants to chase me off, and now I’ve been cucked.

At least Self Preservation lets me get away much more safely from that crap circumstance as my blood boils, and I think nasty things about that teammate.

  • @Kirkylad said:

My build atm is iron will, spine chill, dead hard and resilience. Out of all those though not enough people realise how op iron will can be if you want to incorporate that into your build.

For making this fast though both resilience and spine chill make repairing and all other actions faster and also vaulting.

Resilience would be redundant in this build if they and the Obsession are regularly searching each other out for a heal for their Haste buff.

  • @Yords said:

Yeah, I have mentioned this before. The perk is just so weak right now, among many others.

I wouldn’t call it weak as a solo player.

    • always, always find gens easily.
    • Quickly “course correct” if I see teammates potentially about to 3 gen us.
    • God send on indoor maps.
    • When in a chase, know where NOT to take chases in case teammates are working on those generators.
  • @Brokenbones said:

I think Visionary should guarantee you a map (green) on your first successful chest search

    But why?

The perk already reveals gens at almost all times.

  • @Sup3rCatTree said:

I like this, this would be a nice buff

Not just that, but make it way more distinct from other gen perks as well.

  • @landromat said:

    Leader

    This.

Leader will compliment Blood Pact if you’re injured by helping the Obsession heal you faster. And if you’re going to be staying close together to keep Haste going, you want the Obsession to be able to do further heals, cleansed, sabotage, chest search, and gate opening done faster too.

  • @dspaceman20 said:

Finally someone understand self preservation is a good perk.

It's a great anti tunnel perks if someone takes a hit and it counters infections fright well.

Oh man, I’ve already lost count of the amount of times I’ve been unsafe unhooked by someone not running BT, and Self Preservation has helped me get away from the killer intending to still tunnel me.

  • @gatsby said:

For 30 seconds though. You could be doing ANYTHING during this time. It'd be nice in chase and all, but it sounds way too unreliant and not worth running because its potential effect isn't worth the unreliance.

Bamboozle is still better in this case. You get control over where and when a window blocks. This relies on a generator condition, you being in a chase, you being in a chase that's around an unfinished generator's location, and you being in a chase with a survivor looping a window. Meanwhile, all I gotta do with Bamboozle is just...vault the window.

Thinking about worst and best case scenario with this perk, worst case would be far more common given the restrictions and conditions. I think you're thinking best case too much.

The killer also need to travel from the hooked survivor to any zones with blocked vaults, spending some of that 30 seconds in the process.

  • @MadLordJack said:

MoM only activates if you are injured. If you get instadowned from the healthy state for any reason, it doesn't activate.

    My bad. Ignore.

  • @sleepywynd said:

NOED doesn't need a nerf, it just needs to tell survivors they're exposed and possibly have a timer.

    No.

It used to do that. It meant the killer got zero use out of it even if it activated because survivors would go full stealth and hex search mode.

    Yo Killers & Survivors.

Have you ever played killer and had to face super stealth survivors, and the game comes to a complete stall?

Have you ever played Survivor and wondered how on earth the killer just found you?

I’m going to cover some things regarding the Entity’s Crows from the killer perspective, then lightly touch base from the survivor perspective.

Killers, ignoring the possibility some survivors run Calm Spirit, here are things you should try to learn to pay attention to:

    • If you are out of a chase, try to keep constantly scanning the horizon (on maps that allow you to do this), not just your immediate surroundings. You can sometimes notice when a crow or two scatter from being disturbed.
    • Likewise, if on the horizon or the area you are currently travelling through you notice Crows returning to their perches, this is a clue that survivors have recently been through that area (if you know you haven’t been through recently, disturbing them yourself).
    • Although the volume/amount of crows vary from map to map, as a general rule of thumb, if you are travelling through an area where you can hear yourself disturbing a lot of crows, it’s unlikely any survivors have recently been in/through that area, so you shouldn’t waste your time searching around there.
    • Try to distinguish the different sounds Crows make. The caw they make when disturbed from their perches is very distinguishable from the chirping the idle crows make when survivors have been inactive for too long.

Some cons to be aware of though:

    • there seems to be inconsistency on the distance a killer needs to be from a perched crow before the killer disturbs one, especially on indoor, multi-storey maps. Sometimes I won’t disturb any crows until I’m literally right on top of them, and sometimes on indoor maps I’ve been fooled by a disturbed crow a full tile over, search, and realise it was ME that disturbed that crow.
    • Sometimes crows idle on their regular perches will make the same chirping that they could make when a survivor is idle/afk somewhere, again fooling the killer into wasting time searching for an idle survivor that isn’t even there.

Killers, if you work on these tracking skills, if makes it much more difficult for survivors to hide from you for very long periods of time.

Survivors, you can also use the above information to improve your stealth.

    • Although it isn’t reasonable to try and avoid disturbing any crows, you should definitely note where they are, and if possible to avoid disturbing them, do so. Because if you against a killer adept at the above skills, you are quickly going to get found and go down.
    • If you must hide near a crow, stay/move while crouched. Unless you physically touch the crow, staying crouched will not disturb them.
    • Even when running Calm Spirit, physically touching a crow will still disturb them. Take note of this.
    • It can save your life against a stealth killer (except Wraith) or while a killer is using Undetectable being aware of sudden crow disturbances. It can tell you which direction the killer is coming from.

Hope i’ve been able to provide something helpful to some of you to help you improve in your matches.

Here are my tips on how to get better at hunting/tracking by takin advantage of the crows.

Solos really need ingame voice chat. This would solve so many problems.

I don’t want to be talking to 12 yr olds. Voice Chat won’t fix a player’s lack of mental acuity.

  • @Tsulan said:

Imagine having WGLF and We´ll make it and trying to get someone up, who refuses to.

    Truly unsettling.

If he had that, great. But he didn’t. It was apparent due to the regular healing speed BEFORE I saw his loadout after DC’ing.

  • @Kirkylad said:

Can you believe that ash would try and heal his teammate and not just ignore him and also try and stop him from getting hooked, solos are the worst.

No killer in their right mind is not going to return to a previously downed slug after downing another survivor. And just as I suspected, Deathslinger returned to try and find me immediately upon downing Meg.

There was not a chance in hell Ash would have got me up in time. He would have been speared, meaning both our time was wasted.

I have to agree with, @sesawyer3127. I think the guy was just trying to help you out. I know how frustrating playing solo can be, but I will never get mad at teammates for trying to help me (even if they did something dumb). We all make mistakes from time to time and it's just a game. Maybe try taking a break?

Sabotaging a hook, so it says “Hey Deathslinger, we’re over here”, isn’t trying to help.

  • @Zozzy said:

The twins need a massive change. Their power is as rewarding to use as a fart in the shower and it isn't much better on the survivor side either.

If you do manage to dodge victor and kick him, the 3 second downtime isn't enough to do anything (like bloody heal) before he is right back on you. Meanwhile charlotte is just a hook bot with nothing to help her in chase or interact with victor thanks to the cooldowns and swap speed.

The thing they need is victor should follow charlotte automatically within her terror radius and be able to switch between them instantly. This would be far more interesting to play then what we have now.

You’re taking this discussion on the wrong tangent. I used The Twins as a comparable example, not my sole focus.

  • I doesn’t need a nerf. Survivors just need to stop being stupid.

    A) don’t lead chases near the basement.

    B) don’t go down into the basement to do a save unless absolutely 100% certain bubba is not down there, and isn’t nearby. Period!

    You ARE STUPID.

Do you even know what grinding is? It takes at least 300 hours to even get the teachables off of charecters, then going back and unlocking them for everyone takes a while too. This game takes a loooooooonnnggg time to get perks you want and then get them again. If you dont think this game is grindy, im sorry but you need to play dbd more.

There you go, you said yourself.

“Want”, not “need”. No one thing is NEEDED from the rift or the bloodweb in order to do well in this game.

People cant complain about a grind they CHOOSE to engage in.

  • @loopsahoy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2132171#Comment_2132171

I never said anything on it was essential, i hope you can read. Hut you know what is bhvrs responsibility? Keeping their game alive. Obviously, theyve been slacking. Making tome less grindy is good for health. Grind is bad. This game is very grindy in any sense, whether it be leveling, looking fir a perk, looking fir an item, etc.

There’s nothing grindy about this game at all, because no perk, item, offering, cosmetic, or charm is essential in winning. All of those things can be ignored and the game is still playable.

Too many people put too much emphasis on unlocking everything, stuff they’ll probably never use.

So youre putting words in my mouth saying im gonna miss part of my life for cosmetics? What a great counterargument buddy. Would you like to spend a qaurter of a thousand hours non stop playing the same game over and over eith mostly hard challenges? I just dont think its very fun to play the same game all day every day. I mean, your argument about the 5 hours a werk vs 5 hours a day is worthless. As long as you spend at least 15 hours doing challenges in dbd every week+ keep playing to get xp frags, i think you should still be getting rewarded. Its not really that fine with people who have more important things to do and lost 10 dollars for it. Thats pretty greedy. Oh , burn me in a furnace, i want people who paid for the battlepass have their money worth of it. What have i done? Maybe i should uninstall.

It is not BHVR’s responsibility if players choose to pay for something that they don’t have the time to invest in.

A player can choose to do the free rift, see how far they get, THEN choose to pay for the rift to unlock the paid rewards up until the currently earned tier.

    Or not.

No reward on the rift is essential.
