  • I hate bloodlust as a mechanic a lot, however as long as the wretched shop building as well as the barn and the silo are gigantic infinites I honestly can't say it needs to be removed. They need to look at the maps with spots where the killer simply can not catch up and give them doors in place of some of the windows. Then we can finally remove bloodlust.

You guys must be killer mains Bc as a survivor I’m #shook
I play both, he's just worse than wraith right now. Games go too fast for him to function.
  • According to everybody I play with Freddy = Diddler

I’d totally play the living Dead By Daylights out of the Pig...

... if I could afford her.

She's on sale right now, if you're on steam I'd be happy to help you out. Just add me.

  • It's possible to rank with every killer, just much harder with some of them. I'd advise you avoid wraith, trapper and, Freddy at the moment but everybody else is fair game. Personally I've found great success with piggy for ranking up because she can stop gen-rush by a bit.

  • (Posted twice for some reason, no delete option.)

  • I blame the competitive nature of the game combined with how easy it is to ruin the fun of the other side (Camping to troll, Infinite loops, bagging). A lot of people get salty and are sore losers, a lot of people have very large egos and are sore winners. The game has a ranking system that you can't really avoid so a lot of players play to win and when people are going out of their way to make your experience less challenging and more frustrating a lot of toxicity forms.

  • PaulieEsther, No contest. One of the nicest people in the community. I just wish I was able to catch his streams more.

  • I'm wondering what's going to happen with the holidays as well. I feel like at most we'll get things like Christmas sweaters for survivors though. I don't think the devs would make Santa and elf cosmetics because, they wouldn't want to ruin all of the atmosphere of games for the rest of the year.

Glad you found somebody you liked. But you should let weak-minded people dissuade you from playing a killer you like.

I revel in it myself. Let them show me they're weak-minded. I'll continue to play my P3 Doctor.

I just need thicker skin. I hate having games where I play by all of the "rules" and still get treated like garbage in the end game chat because of my character choice.

  • Looping and pallet counts are whatever. Gen speeds are the issue with the game. There were a lot of ways in which both sides in that video made mistakes. If the survivors didn't meme and just rushed gens the killer would have been absolutely stomped no matter how well they did and that's a problem.

Good Doctors at middle ranks are horrible to go up against for me because I haven't been able to counter them properly yet. That takes time and experience. There aren't a whole lot of Doctor players, and I can't blame them since a lot of people will just DC as soon as they hear the first scream. This kinda sucks, because I would love to face more of them so I can come up with good tactics to use as I refuse to pallet loop.

After over 500 hours of exclusively doctor I have to quit because of all the death threats and Dc's. He's my favorite killer but it's just insane how many people give threats because you play him. Now i'm just waiting for the clown profile picture to be added to the forums.

I agree with @DocOctober on this, as a Trapper main i use no hex perks because often times 2 or 3 are right next to each other and out in the open. Most games the match starts and when I ran a warning perk it'd pop off within the 1st 5-10 second of match starting.

As a Claudette main I got to rank 9 without ever using DS, I just grabbed it to test it out after being griefed several times and found I was making more mistakes since I knew i had it. I got sac'd 6 straight times. While 2 of those were due to griefers the other 4 were just me playing poorly compared to normal.

The game isn't supposed to reward bad plays but good plays and neither of these does that.

I love Trapper aesthetically and from a game play perspective but I can't play him for the life of me. Too much time to setup. Mad props if you can actually play him without Ruin.

  • My opinion on the priority list.

    1. Freddy
    2. Wraith
    3. Leatherface
    4. Pig (maybe)
    5. Clown (gigantic maybe)

Everybody else imo is fine currently.

  • I'm working on a custom killer right now. He has two modes, one slows down the game and the other is good at chases. The twist is that the more gens get done the weaker the stall power gets and the more gens get done the stronger the chase power gets, his strategy changes throughout the match.

    Run vigil.

waste of a perk slot, needs buff

Vigil is a great perk. It is simply shadowed by the amount of blatantly overpowered perks. In my opinion Vigil is one of the most balanced perks in the game, it does it's job and does it well but not to the point where it's overbearing or to the point where it will win a survivor a game. Same goes for monitor and abuse on killers. Amazing perks that get shadowed by a very strict meta.

  • Trapper one million percent. Even as killer I shiver thinking there's a trap sometimes when I pass by pallets.

  • personally I hate the change. Right now whispers only earns a spot in doc and pig builds (for me). With the reduced range pigs heartbeat will be heard before she crouches. Doctor likes to switch modes when whispers goes off and save a lot of time. Both of those uses for the perk are gone so in my eyes I'll never be caught using it.
  • Honestly the tournament just made every issue with the game very apparent for me. Every killer is playing nurse, gens are getting done faster than light. It makes for a boring and frustrating experience knowing that this is what the top level play looks like.

  • Agreed, vigil build is one of the only things I run and I feel like the change is going to kill it. At the very least make it so vigil lets you recover while running outside of a chase.

  • I rarely dodge at this point, the qualifications for me dodging are too many toolboxes (Everybody gets 10k points because gen speeds), Ochido fanboys (out to ruin my day so I don't give them a lobby). I can certainly understand why people go out and dodge legacy or people with a lot of hours as killer considering the balance of the game but in my eyes if I only play fair games i'll never get better. I have to play with better players so eventually I can destroy their swf team. Sorry you keep getting dodged though, kyf is always an option if it gets that bad.

  • Vigil was always useless doe.

You underestimate the power of vigil, balanced landing and lithe. Your chase will never lose momentum, I earn my facecamps with pride.
  • Trapper. I even started running object of obsession so that I won't have to deal with him.

  • Don't three gen. It's a meme build that got out of hand and now people see it as docs best build. It won't get you far at all against good survivors. Timing is your key, it will allow you to get pallet drops early as well as let you stop window vaults. You should only be in treatment if you are actively shocking a survivor, the treatment mode slows you down, when shocking in a chase you should constantly be switching because if you are not shocking and still in treatment mode you are simply wasting time.
The build I would recommend is something along the lines of a full tracking build, it plays to doctors strength and actually works on survivors that can hit a skillcheck.

    • Ruin is absolutely mandatory at high ranks.
    • Nurses calling affects survivors that are snapping out of it as well as healing.
    • BBQ will give you extra points as well as a rough location of the next survivor to chase.
    • Whispers tells you exactly when you should switch modes to track, walking around the map in treatment wastes time, switch when whispers goes off and you will be wasting so much less time.
  • Huntress to me is overrated in every sense of the word. She can stop loops but that's it, any competent stealth will stomp all of her power not to mention the movement speed makes patrolling a chore. Nurse is fine, she changes the way the game is played and I like that even if it gives her a lot of power, gives the game variety. Billy in my opinion (unpopular one that that) is the best killer in the game and needs to be looked at if the game is ever balanced, currently he is fine considering the state that killers are in though.

Edit: honestly Hag and maybe Doc are superior to huntress. (only maybe on doc because of my bias)

  • Pig, gives the survivors another objective that the game so desperately needs. Not to mention stall is always welcomed and needed by killers.

  • I'd just like to ban a realm. Any coldwind map is a free win for the survivors unless you play billy or nurse. See through jungle gyms, cow tree, killer shack. Not to mention the map specific ones like the barn or the silo being super easy to use.

  • Due to the current state of balance it is very difficult to find a situation past rank 10 where I think to myself "Can I win without camping here". The generators simply get done too quickly for me to do anything else so I have to resort to playing like a jerk to win. I don't like it and the survivors don't like it but, I can't do much unless gen speeds are adjusted.

  • Area actually increases under different circumstances. For example a bottle breaking higher in the air will have a bigger spread. I like the current system as it allows experimentation with the clowns power. Things like the tactic below are why I simply love the physics involving the gas. I think he is in an amazing balance spot personally.

480p because my comp hates me

  • The clown currently excels at chasing leaving much to be desired in the stall and tracking categories. With that I decided that this would be the optimal build for my play-style.

    • Hex: Ruin - Required perk, nothing more nothing less.
    • Monitor and abuse - Allows the clown to get bottle hits in before the survivors can really notice him, giving him a bigger boost at the start of a chase and a bit of tracking if he throws at gens.
    • Brutal strength/ Enduring -Normally this would just be enduring since brutal isn't really needed anymore but they both fill a niche on the clown. Enduring allows you to trash DS with the gas. Throwing a bottle at a survivor and then breaking the pallet will allow you to stay on your target if they camp a dropped pallet.
    • Knockout - Stall once ruin goes out. Could also run pop goes the weasel in its place but I prefer the slug game.
    1. Lockers
    2. Dodge the shock, the base range is abyssal
    3. Get to madness one while he is chasing somebody else. It takes much longer to reach madness two then it does to reach madness one.
    4. Seeing the decoys is an add on.
    5. Git Gud
  • Self care no longer wakes up survivors

That's all I want. He fails at being a hit and run killer because self care is so prominent. He needs some QOL like not autolocking onto awake survivors but the only big balance change I want is for self care to stop gutting his viability.
(Also give wraith full invisibility and make Freddy have the shimmer.)

  • @Asssthetic said:
Do you just expect survivors to run straight just so you can hit them? You could mind game the pallet loops and with bloodlust, you could probably catch the survivor.

If it was possible to mindgame the pallets then nobody would ever complain about looping. Smaller loops have a mindgame, large loops force the killer to waste time. If survivors didn't get los on a killer during the entire loop they would be much better.

  • He should of just slugged you and got the kill on the hatch camper normally, it would be totally possible if he knew where the hatch was. I'm still happy that the survivor that sat on the hatch died though.

Many, many times. It's depressing because annoying DS users is my favorite part about Doc.

Huh? well I guess then I'm just someone you would annoy while carring me then.
Well do you think this nerf would be fair? Laurie's perks all about obsession. so I think those who are the obsession and running the perks should get the good stuff.

There are a few fixes I would like and any of them would make me a bit happier with the state of the perk. I absolutely want the perk gutted personally but I feel like some things would hurt it a lot without touching the core mechanics of the perk

    • Make it require an item. Makes Franklins a hard counter to DS.
    • Give the killers more viable obsession perks, make people afraid to be the obsession. Remember me and Dying light are very rarely used.
    • Make it an exhaustion perk. Not being able to use the perk and SB on the same build might work wonders and disable a big part of the meta build.

I believe the problem with DS isn't that it exists. It's that it ties so well with the current meta for survivors and drastically hurts the killers meta. If we made counters for DS and limited the meta perks we could tie with DS it would be in a much better state. If a perk like dying light was made that painted a target on the obsessions back and lead to them being tunneled down then a lot less people would be using DS, if the killers had a perk that could stop DS a lot less people would run it, if people had to sacrifice a sprint perk for DS a lot less people would run it. It needs counters and it needs more downsides for survivors that run it, it does not need a nerf to it's sole purpose it's combos are simply too good and there is no downside to running the perk.

    • I don't run distressing
    • Only on the game if the doctor is running distressing
    • Or you could just leave the terror radius
    • Skill checks are still fairly easy and its still a 50% chance I believe
    • The majority of his add-ons that work in tier two are very easy to counterplay (or you could stealth him and not get into madness two)
    • Lockers stop you from gaining madness, if you want to reduce madness just leave the terror radius then.

He does not need a nerf, he requires you to play differently. You just need to adapt.

Last Year is in production for so long, i dunno... sounds shady. Being able to attack the Killer scares me a bit, F13 had that and it was full on #########.

No, I've only watched videos too. Maybe, I know alphas are stripped down, but I was really turned off by it. But the trailer videos recently released look amazing...

I agree. I'm kinda iffed because of how little they've shown the entire time. With such a ... unique... style of survival horror, you'd think they'd share more about how it works. But the graphics are excellent, so we'll see I guess.

The fact that there is respawning kinda killed the vibe of last year for me. Kills the immersion.

What? Don't tell me survivors respawn...

Survivors respawn and the killer respawns as a different killer.

  • I wouldn't be able to go on strike, this is my main game. The only ways I would end up playing less is if

    • A. Monster Hunter Worlds PC port is good
    • B. Destiny 2's next DLC is good (It won't be, 4k hours in destiny one and destiny 2 is a major disappointment all around)

Also big question, has anyone who plays doctor been hit with DS? I have never been able to land the skill check after I have hit madness.

Many, many times. It's depressing because annoying DS users is my favorite part about Doc.

  • Even if the perk does not get a major nerf can we at the very least get rid of the invincibility SB gives you. Why would I even run dead hard if SB is giving me hit immunity as long as I'm not extremely stupid with it.

  • I had to save up some bloodpoints on the live server for the drunk uncle Clown. I got him to p1-27 on the PTB and stopped since none of the progress would be saved. Also lobbies took hours because I was rank 5.

  • With the buff I would personally place him right above pig. He requires some good strategy and map knowledge to pull off efficiently. I personally love the character and think the devs have done an amazing job with him.

  • You might be aiming downwards just a hair. That's what was happening to me at least.

  • Yes. Every killer should at the very least have a minor change to the way the game is played, Nurse completely changes the way the game is played. Even though she is extremely powerful I believe the game needs her for variety's sake.

    1. Clown
    2. Doctor
    3. Pig
    4. Hag
    5. Wraith
  • I have no life and no people to actually talk to. So meeting people on here is fun, hopefully I can meet some people to play the game with.

  • Find two or three killers you really enjoy. Get them to 50 and prestige one at a time so that you still have two killers you enjoy fully built up. Currently I do this with Doc, Pig and Hag but I'm gonna switch hag out for Clown when he comes out fully.

I think it's earned when you reach a certain level, similarly to overwatch levels.
When you reach level X, you get back to level 1, with Devotion getting to level 1, and you start over.

I thought they already figured out that it went off at level 100, then you get a tad more shards. (please tell me if that was false information)
