  • This is my exact post from a few months ago about another game mode.

"I don't see a 2 vs 8 mode working as is. Mainly because of the doors. Both killers just take one door and the survivors will never get out without key/hatch.

I do however think a 6 vs 1 vs 1 could work. BUT some things MUST be different. IMO, no generators. It works for 4 vs 1...not this. Instead it should be something else. I would suggest that the Pustula Pods (or whatever they are called) take their place. Survivors would be gathering nectar from the pods and deliver what is collected to one of 3 spots around the map. After a pod is used up, it will shrivel up, vanish, then respawn somewhere else. The more Nectar a survivor collects before delivering it, the bigger the blood point bonus they get upon delivery. However, if a killer hooks/kills the survivor, they lose everything they did not deliver. Don't worry...cause death is not an end. A dead survivor will respawn somewhere else. This is required for the killer's objective. The killer's objective is simple, get more survivors hooked than the other killer. (Perhaps hooks will respawn in this game mode after 2 minutes?) How does the game end? well, after 3 - 5 minutes end game collapse will auto start, but at a much slower pace. Both doors will also open on their own at this point. Survivors then have to decide whether to get out now or risk it for more reward.

I didn't put much thought into this and it is just an idea for a concept. Definitely needs work. But I do think something similar to this would work in some way. But...would the devs put time and energy into making it happen? ...probably not. If it were to happen, a game mode like this or 8 v 2 should only occur for special events. Possibly between tomes? Also.....we need more people playing killer. Any additional game mode won't ever happen unless more killer players can be drawn to the game."

Again, I think something similar to this would work more than an 8 vs 2 game mode. The killers, realistically, would never work together (most of them anyway.) So...why not design the "alternate" game mode around that?

  • @supersonic853 said:

Doubtful one that does it regularly has a mod as a stream mod so i wouldn't keep your hopes up.

isn't that a problem in itself?

  • Closed or not, the situation needs to be discussed...silencing it only makes it worse.

  • Just some of my opinions on the killers listed...

    Spirit:

When Spirit first released you could tell which direction she was phasing from through the sound of it. after complaints that she was way too weak (which she was) they buffed her and one of the buffs was that you couldn't tell which direction she was phasing from as the sound was made omnidirectional. I say....bring back the sound how it originally was. That and some kind of animation that shows she is starting to phase should be good. Every killer has a tell that they are starting to use their power, except spirit. So I say START with this for Spirit...see how it plays then make more adjustments as needed based on the gameplay. She definitely needs an adjustment...but we also don't want her to be as weak as she used to be.

    Trapper:

I'd say he should start with ALL of his traps on hand. The limit would still apply as normal...you just wouldn't be able to pick up traps until you were no longer at/over the limit. Also...I agree...the brown bag at the least should be made base kit.

    Trickster:

I agree that "Main Event" should be stored for when you need it. As is....it is mostly useless. Also...I feel that the knives should bounce at least once base kit. His name is Trickster and his draw is the "Trick Shots." As is...you need an add-on to do that.

    Myers:

He may be old-school...but he is still fine as a killer. I am more worried that they will needlessly nerf him rather than remove problems and buff where needed. Tombstone Piece needs to be changed, no exceptions. Vanity mirror...as a Very Rare...is useless. It either needs a buff or should be lowered to Rare or Uncommon. His Stalk also shouldn't have a limit...either that or a portion of what was stalked off of survivors should come back as gens are done OR as survivors are hooked.

    Pig:

I haven't been playing much pig so I can't really respond to what she needs. She is my favorite to play as...but I have been saving that for when i finally got around to prestiging her.

    Legion:

Honestly...legions power is ok at best. It works but...maybe for another "new" killer. Legion should be fully reworked...especially since ai are now possible. They could be reworked to incorporate another ai legion member being in the trial with you and your power revolve around giving commands. Perhaps both the male and female legion are in the trial at the same time and you just chose which one you want to use before you ready up for the match. Another possibility (that I Personally want) is to forgo having a power, reduce Legion's movement speed to that of the survivors...or slower....and allow another player to play as the second Legion member. (I honestly don't think this would work....but I want it regardless lol.)

    Hillbilly:

Can't really comment on him as I chainsaw the walls more than survivors....lol.

    Ghostface:

I think Ghostface is good as is. I personally don't see anything that should change other than survivors exposing him...as sometimes it just doesn't work.

    Clown:

I don't know. His recent change was mostly just....yea... They could have been a little more creative....but I really don't know what to do for him myself.

  • Am I the only one who winks back at The Trickster?

Yea got my Devour Hope outside of Wretched Shop facing the in the open for all to see, Inspired me to make this post.

That is pretty bad. Had my Devour Hope right on the exact top of a hill near the gas station, in the open...nothing blocking it. It looked like a freakin lighthouse...you could easily see it any time you looked toward the gas station. I have no clue how they never saw it. (I'm almost convinced Devour Hope is programed to spawn in terrible spots.)

  • The Legendary skins are supposed to be their own characters, this was the main idea when they were first introduced. So I can get these being linked...Lisa, Cybil, Jonathan, etc. They are all their own characters canonically in The Entity's realms, just without perks of their own. So...yea....I can get these not being mixable. Although....Some of the sets should not be linked, like Cheryl's starting over set. If not linked it would actually be able to mix well with non linked cosmetics.

  • @TAG said:

"Old Freddy used to be...very strong within it which gave him his identity that he has now lost"

I remember Old Freddy having zero power in a chase.

Pretty much this. Old Freddy was the weakest killer in the game. He couldn't even basic attack unless you were asleep. Playing as or against him was a joke at best. It was easier to win against him than a console nurse...to the point it was a guaranteed free victory. Just my personal opinion...but I feel as though the only ones who actually want old Freddy back are survivor mains as he was incapable of hook camping....or having much pressure at the end of the game.

That being said....I say please everyone and get the license for Robert Englund's Freddy and instead of making him a cosmetic...make him another killer with old Freddy's power. Either that or make a new original killer with this power....and maybe a free one since all the work has already been done to make it. (Just rename the old add-ons.)

  • For tombstone Piece...keep it as is but put a penalty on it. You can use it for a single kill...but if you do you are locked out of tier 3 and get a reduction to movement speed for the rest of the match. Definitely remove the limit on stalking a survivor. Or at the least have some of it restored to all survivors upon a gen completion. Drop vanity mirror to a yellow tier if not buff or change it.

Yeah I,thought as much they usually don't add in characters who have a connection to the killer, with Jill being the exception, because she is a fan favorite most likely.Which is still kind of weird because Nemesis never beat Jill. I thought forsure they we're going to do Chris and Claire but add Jill in through a legendary but to each his own I guess.

They have started doing some killer & survivor connections...for example, the All-Kill chapter. There are also the obvious ones like the Halloween chapter as well. Though, those before Silent Hill were probably just coincidence due to licensing.

Don't know if it counts as a spoiler at this point but....

---*Spoiler For Resident Evil 3: Nemesis*---

    ---

It is true that Nemesis' track record over Jill isn't that great....you have to keep in mind all the weapons, ammo, and other things she has used to take him down after the full course of Resident Evil 3....and...he has beaten her, once in the original....I think...I actually can't remember that part. So, take it with a grain of salt. (I also have not played the remake.) That aside, It took her A LONG time to deal with him. In The Entity's realm...she has no tools or weapons to fight back with. Nothing that could kill him. What has she got to use? A few flashlights, a couple wooden pallets and Laurie's collection of broken glass?

    ---

    ---/Spoiler---

Oh, and to answer the topic...as I forgot to do it before...

Some skins I'd like to see in DBD are:

Angela Orosco from Silent Hill 2 for Cheryl. (My favorite character from the game.)

Harry Mason from Silent Hill 1 (no idea for who.)

Sweet Tooth from Twisted Metal Black for Clown (not as a killer cause he'd play almost exactly like Clown when it comes to his power.)

Chloe from Life is Strange for Nea (I think she'd fit perfectly for Nea, as well as fit in with DBD.)

Regina From Dino Crisis for Jill (their voice actress was the same in both Dino Crisis and Resident Evil 3: Nemesis. Plus, it is another great game from Capcom....but without a usable killer for DBD....She is also my favorite female main character out of all games.)

Also.....some more clothing option for Cheryl....that ARE NOT linked....like....say.....Jeans!

Oh.....and any character from Jurassic Park as a skin....just so we could hopefully get a map from the first Jurassic Park. (I say survivor skin as I don't see a dinosaur working as a killer...though one of my friends would pay nicely for a Raptor as a killer, lol.)

  • He wasn't. Cheryl was chosen over other characters because of her connection to Silent Hill. It is a misconception that James was going to be the survivor simply because of Pyramid Head. This is false, but I understand the mistake and how easy it is to make. They considered who to add...as they do with all Licenses...but just because he was considered doesn't mean he was chosen before Cheryl.

But...just to put the issue to bed...could a Dev confirm or deny this?

  • It depends on who I am playing. If I am Myers...Laurie has a higher chance of being left to live. If I am Pyramid Head, Cheryl gets a free escape. Anyone else...usually the last one left alive gets to go...unless there is someone I suspect of being a new survivor. I'll "play bad" so they can build some confidence and enjoy the game (since I know they will inevitably run into the toxic ones on both sides sooner or later.) Heck, if I find the game fun I might let all 4 go. However...all this goes out the window with excessive toxic behavior. It only takes one to ruin it for all.

One of them *is* Misty, or resembling Misty from the games atleast. Not sure about the guy though.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/O1ZJLRZ0JRO4/samantha-chambers-281998-29-1.jpg

I'd heard someone call her 'Misty' but wasn't sure on why. Not familiar with it but...I liked the name so I decided...why not? So for the female zombie...Misty.

As for the Male, I personally will be calling him Carlos. As for why...it is more of a reference to an old post on another forum in reference to Left 4 Dead. In one post, the conversation was about the Special infected...I don't remember the conversation itself but I think it was about which Special Infected was more dangerous. Amongst all the answers for the Witches, Tanks, Hunters, etc. one person responded with Carlos. Carlos is the name of that ONE ZOMBIE that always gets behind you and when you turn to hit him...somehow gets behind you again as if it used instant transmission. He is that one zombie that ALWAYS stops you from running and brings you to a halt with a single hit. Was more troublesome than any of the Special Infected and is always the one reason you fail at escaping. I don't know why he was named Carlos at all...but the name stuck for quite some time. I can't remember what was said about him exactly, but watching people play the PTP and fall to the Zombies made me think back to the zombie Carlos from Left 4 Dead. Almost in similar ways too. so, my vote is for Misty and Carlos.

Never forget....the real killer is Carlos

  • You know...adding in a full on play with bots mode would be a good idea, especially for rift challenges. People could go for their challenges in bot matches, if they so choose, and not screw over their team trying to get them done. Same for killer challenges and those who simply don't want to play killer (or a specific killer.)

  • I'd prefer to save additional Resident Evil AI for a possible revisit to the DLC with a new RE killer. Like...as a very quickly thought out idea....perhaps MR X paired with Lickers and one of his abilities makes a loud noise (A stomp?????) that attracts one to that area.

Although I would love to have Mr X as an AI while using Nemesis. Make him move about as fast as nurse (or slower) and give him the same AI The Trapper has in the new tutorial and it'd work just fine. Oh, and make him being stunned last longer than player controlled killers. Would be great as an ultra rare add on.

  • My full results:

Wraith: 825 I do enjoy the bing bong boy.

Shape: 800 He is my go to, so makes sense

Spirit: 750 I just started prestiging her, but not one I actively look to play. I do well with her when I do.

Hag: 700 Um....? I don't use her outside of very specific challenges...or a random killer roulette.

Pig: 700 My favorite killer to play. Quite bad with her though.

Oni: 700 Strong killer...not in my hands.

Cannibal: 675 I usually only chose him if I have gotten toxic survivors multiple games in a row.

    Nightmare: 675 I do well with him....though I don't use him often

Legion: 675 I like them. the killer I am about average with

Ghost Face: 650 Started using him a lot, for the longest couldn't do well with him. That has changed VERY recently.

Nurse: 625 My second worst killer. I only do well when I don't try at all with her. ???

Blight: 625 My worst killer. Just can't use the Pinball Wizard...

Doctor: 550 The killer I first learned and actually got me to like playing killer. Love messing with survivors with him (I'm sorry baby Feng!!!!)

Clown: 550 Killer I often use. Also the killer I often lose with.

Plague: 525 ah....my queen of depip. No matter how well I do I NEVER pip up using her.

Demogorgon: 525 used to be my 3rd worst. been doing A LOT better after his change.

Executioner: 525 My favorite (cause Silent Hill.) Love to use him....yet to find my preferred build on him so I consistently lose.

Twins: 525 my 4th worst killer. I just like running around as that little gremlin called Victor.

Huntress: 500 My favorite female killer. My aim is atrocious.

    Hillbilly: 475 I chainsaw walls

Nemesis: 475 ....not yet live....so no comment.

Trapper: 450 ...this guy....when I play him I somehow forget how to play ALL killers and must relearn them.

Deathslinger: 450 See Also Huntress...but worse.

    Trickster: 400 fun....but my 3rd worst killer. I don't play him willingly.

Overall...the poll is a nice fun little tool...but flawed. I think more questions and answer choices would help out greatly.

  • I have a great deal of difficulty with Blight and Nurse. More so Blight. I don't even know how I got their adept achievements...cause I played horribly those games. I am also quite bad with Oni and Pyramid Head (even though PH is my favorite.) As for Spirit...I am bad with her too...but that is probably cause I only use her power as transportation, I usually don't use it in a chase.

  • It isn't any one thing in particular as many aspects contributed to its success. But, IMO...the main one is the fact that it is fun to watch. Which in turn allows streamers and youtubers to make videos and such revolving around DBD. This gives the game free advertisement and allows people to see, not only how the gameplay actually is...but what characters are in the game as well. Which, in turn, freely advertises all the licensed content that is available as well. Any fan of horror who sees Michael Myers, Freddy Krueger, Ghost face, Pyramid Head, and (now) Nemesis all in the same game would instantly have some interest in giving it a try. They get to play as their favorite horror icons and are then introduced to all of the original DBD characters which are just as fun and interesting as the iconic ones. Plus, the devs are always trying their best to keep the game updated, patched, and balanced. Keyword, trying. They might not always succeed in their attempts...but they are still honestly trying which can't be said for quite a few games out there. Their constant attempts and such show the game has a lot of life to it which can be a pretty big draw itself for newcomers.

In short. It is fun to watch, which draws in streamers who want to entertain their fans and viewers, who then want to try the game or specific character for themselves, who then convince their friends to give it a try.

  • To get this challenge done, I played like I was brand new to the game and hoped the survivors I got were the toxic type. The first and only time I ever hoped for toxic survivors. First thing I did was identify where the doors were. Then I made sure that the two fountains closest to each door was ready to be used. I did this by only vomiting on one person at a time and "lose them" so they could go cleanse. Once everything was set I just "lost a chase" and "missed every attack" until the gens were done. Once they were I grabbed the fountain furthest of the 2 that were near the door I was at. The two survivors in there had fun with their butt dances as I hit them. They left as I picked up another red fountain on the way to the other door where the other two were practicing their vaulting technique. Got it done as they twerked their way through the gate.

    Because people love starting shᎥt.

    Pretty much this.

  • I vote they be named after the voice actors for Leon and Jill from the original Resident evil 2 & 3.

  • It isn't the best to judge if a killer is strong or weak during the PTB. The people you tend to get in game during the PTB are....unique. It is best to mainly look for bugs and exploits to fix before it goes live and then judge the strength of a killer a month or two afterwards when people have figured him out.

  • Claire, Nemesis, and Racoon City Police Department and that is my final offer!.....I mean guess. lol.

  • When it comes to speculation as to what the chapter will be...there is what I want and what I think it will be....which are both different.

What I want it to be is:

Survivors: Chris and Claire Redfield. Just really want a a pair of siblings brought into The Entity's realms.

Killer: Nemesis. He is just my favorite killer from the franchise.

Map: Racoon City Streets. Really want a good city location for a map.

As for what I think it could actually be...there are 2 possible ways this could go. Either a focus on the first few games that started the series...or an amalgamation of the different "eras" of Resident Evil

    Possibility 1:

Survivor: Claire (RE2.) Just her, as the line given during the Resident Evil Stream points to her

Killer: Nemesis (RE3.) He is an an iconic character and the reason I am not saying Mr. X is cause there is no way they will make a Resident Evil chapter to highlight the franchise and ONLY contain content from JUST Resident Evil 2.

Map: Racoon City Police Department (RE 2&3.) It is probably the most iconic location from the series.

With this Possibility I honestly think the focus will be around Resident Evil 2 & 3.

    Possibility 2:

Survivor: Leon and/or Claire. Leon from RE4, and/or Claire from Revelations 2.

Killer: Jack Baker from Resident Evil 7.

Map: Racoon City Police Department from Resident Evil 2 & 3.

With this possibility, I think they could go with an amalgamation of the different eras of Resident Evil. By eras I mean...The Zombie Era consisting of Resident Evil 1, 2,3, Code Veronica, etc. The Parasite Era consisting of Resident Evil 4, 5, 6, Revelations 1 & 2, etc. And the newest era (Mold Era???) which consists so far of RE7 and Village. I use 'Eras' as a way to group up the different sections of Resident Evil's story.

  • I always find the complaints about Spirit weird. Only because when she was first released she was actually quite weak, to the point she needed a good buff. Now she is apparently too strong. I have to ask....what made her so weak at the start and what changed to make her so strong?

  • One of my favorite things to do is put on a "survivor watch" build and just watch these beings like a nature documentary. This is what I run on my Zarina, lol. Once saw all three randoms running around in different areas of the map, injured, as if being chased...loops and all. Killer was near me at the time while I did a gen a distance behind him.

  • I honestly just guess. I put myself in the survivor's shoes and think of what I would do in that situation. (doesn't help that I'm not that great of a survivor.) I used to follow the track marks or blood stains....but the map is so bright now that I can't see them in the sunlight. So...yea.....I just guess.

  • I am personally just praying to the entity that a legendary skin for Regina from Dino Crisis would be allowed. Beyond that, I think Capcom cares about their fan's enjoyment more than Konami does so who knows what they agreed to. Anything could be possible.

OoO is still as annoying to deal with as it was previously. Played a match against a 4-man squad using it. The obsession was always on the opposite side of the map from me. They all got out but made no more than 15k bloodpoints. Honestly not even mad about it. My only complaint is that It was just so boring of a match.

  • @Johnny_XMan said:

To me they should make the sounds she hears muffled/echoed?

This way survivors’ cries and grunts aren’t so easy to spot where not seeing a survivor basically means nothing because you know exactly where the sounds are coming from.

Lore wise it makes sense as to me every time she Phases she is in a spiritual plane.

That could work, maybe make it so the muffled sound starts out light but intensifies the longer she uses her power.

If stridor is an issue, what about making it so that it simply is not active while a killer is actively using their power?

  • It might be a coincidence...but every time I have seen one it was somewhere around where something (Anything) would or could have spawned. This includes Totems, Chests, Gens, Pig Boxes, Freddy Clocks, etc. Whether something spawned there that game or not doesn't matter. If it is a spawn location for anything, check it, just in case.

At one point on Dead Dawg Saloon I found it near that windmill thing on the opposite side of a rock from a Gen it was close to. On Mother's Dwelling I found it where a chest could spawn in the killer shack. I have also seen it spawn in the open where one of those horribly placed totems will spawn. I have also seen it inside the Clown's little trailer on Father Campbell's Chapel where the chest could spawn. I suggest playing wraith and use your cloak ability to speed around the map. Again, might just be a coincidence.

Yeah i know, i was just hoping for mr.x because he's my personal favorite but will probably be dissapointed

If we get Nemesis or Mr X, we will likely get the other as a legendary skin, which I am for.

As for the dlc being focused on RE 2 & 3...that is a strong possibility. I hope the map is Racoon City's streets....but the police station is the most iconic location. For the survivors...any combination between Chris, Leon, Jill, and Claire would work fine. I feel that if they go with an iconic pair....either Chris & Jill or Leon and Claire...then the killer would be from the opposite game. So either Chris, Jill & Mr X or Leon, Claire and Nemesis. There are SO many possibilities that my mind is going wild with ideas. Whatever Capcom allows Behavior to use.....I just hope we can revisit the license in the future and get more iconic characters.

(on a side note...since it is Capcom.....I do kind of hope to maybe someday at least get a legendary skin for Regina from Dino Crisis....especially if the survivor is Jill. She is still my favorite game protagonist.)

  • The new OoO is still annoying for killers to deal with, just in a different way. Now, in a SWF, if one person has OoO they can use that to figure out what kind of Aura Reading the killer has so that the team can counter it or use it to their advantage to always know where you are. Hex: Undying is also a problem with an OoO user as they only have to go near a dull totem to see your location if they are not the obsession.

  • If I could change a role...I'd put Cheryl as a killer. But I'd also change her backstory to the Bad Ending of Silent Hill 3...where she gives in to her anger and rage and possibly embraces the power of Silent Hill. Basically.

For Killer...Suzie from The Legion would be a survivor. She never wanted to hurt people to begin with.

  • For the Nemesis and the rocket launcher, I still think Nemesis could have the rocket launcher as a 1 time use weapon the whole trial. Whoever it hits is instantly put into the dying state and the splash damage will injure anyone immediately nearby for a single health state. But, Nemesis would only have that one shot, miss...and tough luck. Plus he wouldn't start with it and there would be no aura reading to help find it. But, I don't think it should be his primary ability. It'd be a one time use secondary ability. One you would have to think carefully before using. Perhaps an add-on would allow it to respawn once or more? Might need more thought put into it. (Though I will agree that Nemesis doesn't need it.)

  • The problem I am having on these new corn maps is that it is near impossible to see the scratch marks in the sunlight. If a survivor runs past a gen in sunlight, the additional light from that makes it that much harder to see. Basically, the new maps give free escapes...at least for me it does. I didn't think it would be possible for me to hate a map more than the the green tinted ones. The overall brightness needs to be toned down.

Wanna know how i know their data isn't worth a damn?

Pig/Doctor/Bubba having a higher kill rate than spirit.

Nurse being the worst killer in the game.

Data only tells part of the story, but it certainly doesn't tell you the whole story. I'd like to see the same data they have but when you only look at the top .1% of killers playing against the top .1% of survivors.

I am curious if they just lump each kill together on a specific killer or actually differentiate between them. What I mean is, for example, do they separate the actual kills from the people who kill themselves on first hook cause they don't want to play against a specific killer or don't like their team? Cause, if they don't separate those first hook suicides, then that would skew the results.

  • @ProfGameAndTalk said:

A generic zombie that just groans. His speed is slower than Nurse and his power is a groan that makes the survivor say, "Hey, stop that. That's irritating!"

will the skill check to struggle be affected by huntress lullaby?

It is supposed to be similar to Pyramid Head's cages, so no. However...it could be bugged for all we know.

  • When I don't care about ranks, bloodpoints, or such and just want to mess around, I'll choose Myers and try to race the survivors. Basically, you put both ultra rare add-ons on Myers. So it will take a long time to get to tier 3 but when you do you can kill anyone at any point. The main rule here though....you are not allowed to make any offensive actions against the survivors until you are in tier 3. Perks are your call. The goal is to get tier 3 and kill them before the survivors can finish the gens and leave.

  • There are so many dlc's I want for DBD and most of the main ones are already highly requested or might happen anyway. Heck, the #1 DID happen (Silent Hill.) So I am going to mention one that might not ever happen...but I still want anyway. So, with that thought in mind, my dream DLC isn't from any horror based franchise or whatnot. Might even be a bit weird but....I'd like to see The Fiend from WWE as a killer.

IMO, The Fiend, in kayfabe, fits in perfectly with DBD. Bray Wyatt was once a cult leader and, after his mind was 'cleansed' of the evil of 'cult leader Bray Wyatt" became a twisted version of Mr. Rogers possessed by the far more dangerous, and supernaturally powered, Fiend...who carries round 'Cult Leader Bray's' severed head as a lantern. The survivor would have to be Alexa Bliss...Specifically before she was mind broken to become his version of Harley Quinn.

On a completely separate note, A stand alone Survivor I'd like to have is Chloe Price from Life is Strange. I can't go into specifics about why I think she would fit in perfectly as it involves major spoilers for the first game.

Well, his role in this game seems to be different than in the Silent Hill games. He specifically exists as a manifestation of James' own self-guilt and his own desire to be punished. When James comes to terms with his guilt (after viewing the tapes where he literally kills his wife) and banishes the thought of Maria (the corrupted memory his wife), it just offs itself and never comes back. Obviously, that doesn't work in the game if Dwight can get on his knees, do a confessional, and literally kill the killer, so there's a bit of twisted lore here.

Pyramid Head comes into The Entity's realms from the moment in Silent Hill 2 that it is no longer needed. It was supposed to kill itself along with the other Pyramid Head. (There was more than 1 created.) The Entity merely offered PH an alternative. Since Silent Hill no longer needed him...he CHOSE to work with The Entity. The Entity is not strong enough (for now) to control PH so he is free to do whatever he wants. The Entity gave him a purpose once his in Silent Hill was over. That being said, PH isn't loyal to The Entity...only his purpose. I believe the only way to get PH on the survivor's side is to use Cheryl's connection to Silent Hill. I just don't think Cheryl has enough of a connection left to do that though.

This is just what I took from it all, so...my assumptions here could be a bit off.

  • In my own experience it is not fun playing killer as the people I get matched with far exceed my own skill level EVERY GAME. I used to be able to stay in the low purple high green range playing killer...now I can't leave yellow. Lately every group I played with has at least one survivor ranging from rank 1 to 5. My current rank as killer has not left the 11 - 14 range. It doesn't help that I jump from killer to killer randomly as I play them all, including the ones I hate to use. Had one game with all rank 1 survivors. I was beaten down to a rank 15 before that one. I have no clue why a yellow rank killer is going up against 4 rank 1's. Thankfully that was the only time.

I am going to take a guess and say that if you have ever gotten close to the red ranks then the system will pair you with them regardless of where you are at now. As killer, I admit I have a ways to go. The highest I should be facing right now is green ranks. A second guess I am gong to throw out there is that SWF is throwing the system off. What I mean by that is, one person playing in red ranks while the rest are green or yellow would draw in weaker killers. Or vice versa, with one yellow rank survivor and the rest purple/red ranks. Not saying they do this intentionally, just the after affects of a system not designed for SWF.

The reason I make those guesses is because of my experience as survivor. I am currently rank 6 as survivor and the highest I have reached is 2 (that was some time ago though.) I tend to fluctuate between ranks 3 and 7. I should not be in these ranks. At all. I should be in the higher green ranks as...again...I admit that I am not as good as I would like to be. When I play solo I tend to struggle against purple rank killers and red ranks make me into a joke. I should be about even with the green rank killers. What throws it off? I believe it is when I play with friends.

The 2 I usually play with are often busy with work and personal stuff so they just can't put in the time to rank up like I can. One friend should be in the green ranks...but because she has to work, take care of kids, clean...and do almost everything herself, she just can't devote the time...so she is stuck in the lower ranks. That being said, she is fairly good at the game and would far exceed me if she could master looping effectively. The other friend I often play with should be in the purple ranks...but due to time having to work and whatnot, can only stay in the green ranks (plus he consistently gets tunneled and camped whenever he plays, not even a reason for it.) He is far better than me but is prone to letting his rage take control. These are the 2 I play with most. Add one of our other friends who RARELY ever play, and the killers we tend to pull in are pretty much new or inexperienced. when its is 4 of us we NEVER see a killer higher than green. If the 3 of us who mostly play are together, it is usually around green or yellow ranks for a killer. Just 2 of us and it is anyone's guess.

I think it is safe to say that the current ranking system just doesn't, and will never, work as intended. Whenever they so implement MMR finally, I do hope they have it set to track survivor's skills in solo and SWF separately.

  • I wouldn't put it past them to know how much we look into even the smallest of details and put something in like that just to mess with us...knowing WE WILL over think it and throw us off entirely.

I haven’t even bothered to try that one yet because my play style usually involves at least 2 aura reading perks, if not 1. So I rely a lot on the information they give, especially Bond because it tells me so damn much.

So going perkless means a huge lack of info.

Suppose I could use a key with a token, but then I’ll get tunnelled hard.

There is a reason I chose to do this when I was prestiging Laurie. If someone else brought in an obsession perk, the killer would automatically assume Laurie has DS, even if it is not there. That threat alone saved me multiple times. I also brought in medkits to heal myself when playing solo and the 3 games I played with a friend I used a toolbox. The last one I used a key with aura reading to see where the killer is. Was on the preschool map (forgot its name) against DeathSlinger. The randoms I had were on point and I only survived the endgame thanks to them.

It was tough but was worth doing it. Since I was prestiging a character I didn't have to worry about wasting or saving my good items on her, that helped a bit as well. I suggest going for it when you decide to go for a prestige 3 survivor and use your best stuff. It might also help to bring in a friend to help out as well. Especially if they bring in an obsession perk and something that gives you info as well like kindered.

  • Personally I am hoping that it will be like what they did with Silent Hill and focus on content from the first 3 games. I would prefer the Survivors to be Chris and Claire Redfield. The idea of siblings entering the entity's realms is interesting to me, plus I like them better than Jill and Leon (I still like them quite a lot, just not as much as the other two.) Chris' default being in his outfit from RE1 and Claire in hers from RE2. The killer would have to be Nemesis from RE3. Just hands down my favorite and easily more memorable to me than Mr X. The map, would either be the mansion from the first game or a portion of Racoon City that as in both RE2 & 3. I lean more toward the city itself as I kind of enjoy that type of aesthetic in a map.

So, yea. The perfect RE chapter for me specifically would be:

    Chris and Claire Redfield

    Nemesis

and a location of Racoon City that was in both RE2 and 3, exterior, not an indoor map.

Alternatively...a 2nd place hope would be instead:

    Jill and Leon

    Mr X

    Racoon City Police Department (interior)

This, imo, would represent the games better than what I personally would want. Jill could have her Revelations outfit as her default with her RE1 and RE3(both versions) outfits as skins. Leon would have his RE4 outfit as default with his RPD outfit and his outfit from the Netflix movie as skins. I chose MR X in this one simply cause I just think he would fit aesthetically with Jill, Leon and the RPD as a set. The RPD itself is an iconic location much like Midwich is for Silent Hill.

Plus.....I just selfishly want to have 1 game with 4 different characters, in a police station wearing police outfits. Which would be doable with Jill, Leon, Tapp, and Cheryl(Cybil legendary skin.)

This is all wishful thinking on my part. In all honesty, I would be happy with any combination of characters, killers and maps. There isn't a single aspect of Resident Evil I hate and I will thoroughly enjoy whatever is brought to DBD.

once you learn to play without perks (and I HIGHLY recommend it to everyone, no joke, play matches without any perks and see if you can adept) everything becomes underrated and a cool and welcom addition.

I recently did the achievement to escape 8 times using no perks...I can honestly say I was the single worst Laurie Strode anyone has ever seen. I was working on getting her to P3 at the same time so I figured, why not do the achievement too? I never realized just how much I have relied on perks until I went perkless, lol.

  • My guess is people are playing Demo more cause of the upcoming changes. Pyramid Head is likely cause he is the 4th anniversary release and people are simply excited for the 5th, being Resident Evil. Silent Hill and Resident Evil are 2 of the most well known horror games, rivaling each other for a time. It could also simply be RE fans coming into DBD due to the DBD x RE announcement and seeing some of their favorite killers/characters here as well.

  • Any green tinted map. I seriously can't see well on these maps and the color change options don't help much at all. The entire game on one of these maps I am GUESSING where a survivor is unless they are wearing bright clothes. Heaven help me if there is a Blendette on one of these. I honestly never thought I'd hate a map more than the cornfield maps. Strangely enough, I can see well enough as Survivor on those green maps. For whatever reason, as killer, I just can't see much of anything and I don't really get why.
