There is a difference between being good and being a tryhard. I know it might sound crazy but some people play for fun so they don't like it when they are playing against someone who plays like their life depends on it.
What if playing as best they can is how they have fun? What if intentionally holding back is not fun for them?

They kinda of have a point.
I've definitely had scenarios where this happens. Someone baits a rescue, I time it correctly but get my grab cancelled and the game swings instead.
It isn't fun.
That is something that does need to be fixed, but only in the sense that this is a bit buggy and should be ironed out. Not in the sense that survivors are actually doing anything wrong.

@Weck came up with the idea. Basically, if you are wrong you must play a game of killer, with the killer you hate playing the most, without perks and addons and get a ruthless killer.
And trust me when I say this, I don't wanna play Ghostface.
Right, forgot about that.
I will politely decline on joining in, as I avoid making bets even when I feel confident, and I am not entirely confident here. :P

ah yes identity v the chair simulator.
players complain about camping and tunnelling a lot in dbd but in identity v hunters are ranked based on there ability to camp as wins are based on kills and escapes not overall performances.
"as wins are based on kills and escapes"
As they should be.

I know flavor isn't exactly the #1 metric to use, but IMO that seems more like it should be a buff given to Knockout as opposed to Deer Stalker.
-
In the interest of compromise, how about:
The Pig cannot hear the Trap beeping of the Survivor they are chasing for X seconds after the chase ends (idk what X should be).
I think using the beeping to initially find the Survivor is totally fair game, but if the Survivor manages to bamboozle the Pig and lose them, IMO they've earned a tiny amount of breathing room.
-
I play Pig for the gameplay. The only cosmetic piece I have for her is the drill bit weapon.
-
Can someone post a link of Jake's? I haven't seen it yet.
-
I took a month-long break due to health reasons, but now I'm trying to get back into the swing of things.
-
It'd be easy to say "just update the text so it just says 'revealed where they screamed for X seconds,'" for Infectious Fright. So instead I will ask:
- "All Survivors' locations are revealed to you for 3 seconds."
How would you make this part of the text for "Rancor" less misleading if it doesn't cause Survivors to scream?
-
Personally, I see no reason to play any different because someone brings streamers or gateaus. Even if I bring them, that's only because they're still better than bringing nothing, and if I'm going to bring BP offerings, I may as well bring the best ones.
-
I'd say they're only an issue because of map balance issues. If you can make the maps overall mostly balanced for both sides, then map offerings really shouldn't be a problem.
-
What is wrong with Jane's feet? Is she secretly a mannequin? Is the Key so Ace can escape when the mannequins spring their trap at the wedding and try to turn everyone into mannequins?

@A_Skinny_Legend said:
There are less people using it but the escape is the same. So does this mean that it is now more effective?
I think it just means that it is about as effective for the people using it as it was before.
I think the one piece of relevant information missing from this is the percentage of matches where DS actually successfully fires off.

Then change that. Make an escape a guaranteed black pip.
I do support changing the overall ranking system to allow for guaranteed black pips on escape, FWIW.

Can't you just DC, though? This really shouldn't be common enough where the DC cooldown would become an issue.
I don't like giving players a forfeit option because it just encourages people who are losing and/or tilted to ruin the game for everyone else instead of seeing it through.
Make a forfeit a unanimous decision among living Survivors, then.

pig is literally not weak at all.. did the killer mains come together and award her as being the weakest killer of the week or something?? please
if she is ever reworked the ONLY thing i could actually rationalize them changing would be improving her crouching.
solo queue survivors literally have no idea how to act when they play against pigs hence her VERY high win rate.
Pig being weak is a pretty common sentiment here. One I happen to agree with. :P

To me, that's not really any different than if you get an AFK killer, someone who just wants to facecamp the first person they see, or someone who's just memeing and won't play the game normally.
Bust matches are bust matches. If you want to prevent this kind of abuse, make it so the killer can't do this until 10 minutes from the start of the game. I'd still like a non-DC way to get out of games where the last two survivors are hardcore stealthing and not even trying to do gens and finding them can take several more games' worth of time, or games where a bully squad won't complete the last gen because they want to keep ######### with you.
Might I suggest simply changing up the crow system to actually WORK on these hostage holders?

I think the solution to that would be making it so that if the gates are opened early, everyone has a floor of black pipping (in addition to no endgame perks working.)
The Killer can still troll by just forcibly ending games when they start.
-
@danielmaster87 said:
I've been asking for this for a while. Why do the gens have to be done for the killer to open the exit gates? Just make it to where NOED won't activate if the killer opens the door so they can't cheese the mechanic like that. Other than that specific scenario, there is no valid justification for why the killer can't have an anti-hostage mechanic like the survivors do.
Because then the Killer can just immediately open the Exit Gates at the start of the game to force depips.

Wasn't sal_gu's "experiment" conducted when combinations like omega blink were still a thing and missing blinks wasn't nearly as punishing because the cooldown wasn't there? Yeah that nurse did get reworked.
Also, I'm siding with the first comment on the forum post you linked. This game shouldn't be balanced around the top players as it isn't meant to be a competitive game.
You don't have to be a competitive game to be balanced around top or even good players. If you don't balance around those players, then you just open the doors for them to abuse balance issues.

Wesker as a Legendary skin for Trickster, and instead of knives, he throws eggs. :P

Keep in mind that it is extremely possible that the 5 means nothing. The 4 from last year was a clue toward Pyramid Head, but that doesn't necessarily mean that they have to drop a number hint again.

First you said she isn't used competitively, and now you're saying the recent example I gave you of Pig being played at the highest level (competitive DbD) doesn't matter? Have a good day, I'm done here.
From what I understand about that tournament, the general consensus seems to be that the players in this tournament were overall playing poorly and that this particular tournament was not a good example of high-level play.

Imo the buff pig needs is rather simple. Make every trap take 3 boxes, or 4 with add ons that create a 5th box, to take off. This removes the rng aspect and buffs her stall potential while also preventing that annoying situation where a pig camps the last box.
She also needs an add-on pass and her dash could use some slight tweeks but overall removing rng would be a huge QOL change for her and survivors.
I personally think your first idea is actually more of a nerf than you think. If the Survivor never has to search four boxes (unless they can see more than four boxes), good Survivors will realize that they don't have to respect the Traps nearly as much because they can be assured that they will almost definitely have enough time to get the Trap off without dying.

Survivor: Zarina because she cab make a whole documentary to tell the world about the Entity and perhaps create much progress to help the rest stuck in there
Killer: The Clown because huehuehuehue.
-
I don't trust MoM enough to buff it. I get that it's 80 seconds of repair time and not just tapping a 99'd gen to finish it, but I personally think that is still too easy to get MoM going.

The devs have confirmed that the new killer is NOT lady Dimitrescu.
Source? I find it hard to believe that the devs would confirm or deny anyone before the actual reveal.

@ukenicky said:
I feel like there's the people who would love to see Lady D and then the people who hate her and just want to tear down the opinions of anyone who likes her and wants her in the game and be rude AF
I would love to see her as our next killer, I think she fits in just fine in every regard except the height issue. Shrink her to the size of the tallest doorways or give her a bending animation for doorways, problem solved? The real reasons I'm not sure she'd be in is because she's SO new and while she is iconic she isn't actually iconic because of lasting power. Also she talks, I'm not sure if they'd be opposed to that since almost all killers don't really talk with a few minor exceptions.
I honestly think they'll go with Nemesis or Mr. X and Jill. They're gonna do maximum bang for their buck / best representation of the series like Konami did with Pyramidhead and Cheryl.
OR who knows maybe they will surprise us and it will be Dimitrescu and Ethan. I'd be shocked but happy either way though
Obviously there is nothing practical stopping them from shrinking Lady D. The question is "Would Capcom want that?" My guess is no because of the amount they'd have to shrink her by. Bending over doorways requires multiple new animations to accomodate for different situations occuring at a low height. Not really worth it if you can just pick a different character instead.

That is a good chunk of what you are saying. Then you mention height things that are more points against her than in favor.

"Demo is 7-10 feet tall" is not an opinion.
-
Demo is literally 7-10 feet tall
You are hurting your own argument. There is a huge difference between 7 and 10 feet. Put a yardstick on top of your head and then decide how that works out as far as height.
Also, a good chunk of your argument is "she is going to be the Killer because she is good Killer material."
-
At best, maybe wait until a little while after someone is unhooked to give them a head start on the first box if they get the Trap slapped onto them when your gen is about to finish. But generally speaking, you have enough leeway on the Traps that "don't pop gens if someone has a Trap on" is just a bad idea.

I mean it's surprising people don't know how to efficiently counter NOED yet. People are still doing all 5 bones?
Heres a 100x more efficient strat if you care about NOED so much.
Go around and find 3 or 4 totems (do not cleanse them)
Wait until final gen pops
Go back to the 3 or 4 totems you found
There's a 3/5 or 4/5 chance that NOED will spawn on one of them totems, making finding the final few totems useless. If it does spawn on the final totems use basic game sense to find which part of the map its on and listen for the burning.
Not only do you not need to cleanse totems, you also have a much higher chance of finding it.
Why on earth are people still cleansing dulls before endgame?
I use Detective' Hunch + Open Handed, which generally allows me to see most Totems, if not all, once the first gen pops. I'd rather pop a Totem here and there on my way to gens rather than start running around toward anywhere that isn't the Exit while the Killer has one-shots enabled.

Buff Diversion so it works off a straight cooldown
Nerf Borrowed Time so it doesn't work once the Exit Gates are powered

Well I mean just look at em. Unstoppable killing machines who take countless bullets. Both of them are literally introduced with explosions and fire with Mr. X's being the helicopter crash and Nemesis being Jill's apartment burning down. Nemesis wields a rocket launcher and Flamethrower Mr. X is incredibly fast and uses brute strength. The way they're both killed with Mr. X being a rocket launcher and Nemesis (In the remake) being a full on super powered Laser blast. They're both just meant for action packed games rather than horror esp the horror DBD has.
The only thing you described that doesn't fit someone like Jason Voorhees is wielding firearms.

I agree insomuch that I don't think DH is OP per se, the issue comes from comboing it with other perks that give it more life and power than it needs or otherwise encourages toxic/cheap behaviors in order to make it work (obviously this is not a jab at everyone or even most players who run DH). It's like BT and the issues with BT blocking, in other words exploiting a perk to do something that is not intended by the perk. In this case, DH is supposed to reward killers who allow rescues but in practice it is much more rewarding to killers who camp and use hooks for easy bait. Because of this DH isn't itself OP, however I do believe, as a killer main, that it is an unhealthy perk. I wouldn't want to see it nerfed, just tweaked to make it less meta or avoid being abused. Sadly because I don't have a suggestion for how to fix that much and in reality there may not be a real solution other than completely reworking the perk which really won't be a good option until keys are removed and mori's become base kit for killers.
DH is supposed to reward killers who allow rescues but in practice it is much more rewarding to killers who camp and use hooks for easy bait
I don't follow. Camping won't allow for DH to gain tokens. If you're 24 meters away, you're not camping.
