So if that noob killer kills you. Does this make you a noob or a pro?
    Interesting question.

I like to look at it like this, when I am on top of the scoreboard with my escape icon, then I see the killer had that setup, I then wonder if my escape makes me a noob or a pro.
If you would escape against this setup, you wouldn't come to the forum and complain about it.
Oh wow! So I am complaining? This place is strange. Teabag someone and you're toxic, point out how easy they make it for killers to try and win, you're complaining.

I am beginning to wonder if this forum is only visited by drama queens
People loling left and right are drama queens?
  • Nope.  I take it on the cheek, no matter what.
  • It really is stupid. I don't know why everyone cries about prayer beads, I'll take that over JT any day. At least I get 3 chances with prayer beads as opposed to 1 with JT.

And stop blaming the survivor for being bad. I've had Myers stalk the hell out of my team, tap M2 on me and then kill me. How was that my fault? lol. He got a second from me and the rest from everyone else. I got punished for their mistakes.

At least with prayer beads or Iridescent heads I don't get punished due to their mistakes.

We can blame a team for being bad. :P

I agree that Hemorrhage is pretty useless, but I just thought of this as sort of a band-aid fix for those four add-ons in question (Utility Blades, Face Mask, Rusty Attachments, and Slow-Release Toxin). I don't know if I would want to make an add-on that's basically just Stridor, and the "more time for healing" thing is just Rusty Attachments. Admittedly, I'm not sure what I would replace Hemorrhaging with on Utility Blades (or how I would buff Hemorrhaging to make Utility Blades less worthless). I'd say "scrap the add-on in favor of a completely different add-on", but I already had in mind scrapping Razor Wire and Workshop Grease with replacements (and I'm already thinking of how to re-work/replace Interlocking Razor), so I wouldn't know what to replace Utility Blades with if it had to be completely scrapped.

I think I have an idea:

A bar fills when the survivor runs.
The bar sinks,if the survivor does not run.
If the bar is full, then it injures the Survivor, if they are not already injured.
Survivors caught in a Reverse Bear Trap have a slight chance of screaming while walking or running.

Is this a good or bad idea?
    Because i don't have a clue.

This seems like it would be crazy powerful.  Assuming it's tweaked for balance and mechanical consistency, it reads like a Very Rare or Ultra Rare more than an Uncommon.
  • Either Spirit or Freddy.  Spirit is basically a ghost, and Freddy has Dream World shenanigans.

to everyone who's saying getting EW III is Soooooo hardddddddddddd

it's not, stop lying to yourselves

    1) Getting to EW3 using Judith's Tombstone is not as easy as you are making it out to be.
    2) You're also not taking into account the speed reduction while using Judith's Tombstone.  It is very real downside.

Tombstone Piece is better if you want the insta-kill, and Fragrant Tuft of Hair is better as far as Myers's Ultra Rares.

    Utility Blades

    Stacks: Yes

    Rarity: Uncommon

Description: A modification to the Reverse Bear Trap: sharp blades attached to the Trap's interior lacerate the victim with every movement.

Effect: Survivors caught in a Reverse Bear Trap will scream randomly, if they walk or run.

I think you're onto something with this.  What if, for all the add-ons that grant penalties to Survivors wearing RBTs (Face Mask, Utility Blades, Slow-Release Toxin, Rusty Attachments), they also increase the chances for Survivors with RBTs to scream depending on their rarity?

Face Mask + Utility Blades can slightly raise the chances while walking/running since they are Uncommon, and Rusty Attachments + Slow-Release Toxin can moderately raise the chances since they are Rare (The wording would br such that you can't stack them to further raise the chances of screaming).

Basically, it would look something like this:

    Utility Blades

A modification to the Reverse Bear Trap: sharp blades attached to the Trap's interior lacerate the victim with every movement.

Survivors caught in a Reverse Bear Trap suffer from the Hemorrhage Status Effect.

Survivors caught in a Reverse Bear Trap have a slight chance of screaming while walking or running.

    Slow-Release Toxin

A modification to the Reverse Bear Trap: a poison that is not fatal, but weakens the body and makes it nearly impossible to recover fully from any effort.

Survivors caught in a Reverse Bear Trap suffer from the Exhaustion Status Effect.

Survivors caught in a Reverse Bear Trap have a moderate chance of screaming while walking or running.

    I rly like your idea.
And i think, i will update this addons.
But the Hemorrhage Status Effect is useless.
    The addon need something else.
Maybe it make the breath louder, like Stridor.
Or maybe it the survivors need more time for healing.
What do you think would be better?
Or do you have an other idea?

I agree that Hemorrhage is pretty useless, but I just thought of this as sort of a band-aid fix for those four add-ons in question (Utility Blades, Face Mask, Rusty Attachments, and Slow-Release Toxin). Yeah the hooked surv was the one closest to the exit gate, and the DS was close to the hooked survivor, I knew the only hook I could get them to by dribbling was the one being used. In hindsight the currect play is to try and dribble the ds somewhere, hook or away, and then get them one of them after they free their friend, but there is always the real possiblity of the ds stun being too long and them both escaping if I go this route.

In game in both of these situations I did the following

    1. hooked the survivor
    2. let the hooked survivor die then tried unsuccessfully to dribble the DS to the next available hook, missing the dribble by just a second.

In both cases I was yelled at by the survivors, in all fairness though situation 1 there was an early dc.

I'd say you did fine.  Don't let salty people get to you.
  • Entity gives Killer superhuman abilities.  Entity does not give Survivors superhuman abilities.  Ez.
  • Scenario 1: Either choice is fine.  I would personally hang them on the hook as long as there wasn't some super early DC that basically screwed all the Survivors over.

Scenario 2: Depends on how close to the hooked Survivor the DS player is.  If they are far enough that you might still down them and hook them anyways before they can free the Survivor, I'd eat the Decisive Strike and go for it.  If they're close to the hooked person and the hooked person is close to the exit, I would not chance it.

Note that players are an unpredictable lot and trying to please them purely to avoid unsavory messages post-game probably isn't going to be as effective as you'd hope.

In fact amanda's secret is ace at loops or pallets.
You can monitor where is going the survivor.
If he leaves the loop you lose less time. If he stays , as soon as he makes a mistake you can catch him because you know where he is going.

Take control of the pallet and etheir they leave or it's a free stab.

But still the cost for amanda's letter is too high.

Agreed. It's good, but not good enough to warrant the downsides they put on it.

The way I see it, if Wraith can see auras within a 12-m radius without a penalty, so should Pig.  I don't think the RBTs are enough of a game changer to really justify additional downsides, or at least downsides on the level of the current Amanda's Letter.

The pig is one of the less addon dependant killers but also have one of the worst addon roster, also, I think is the only killer which is worse carrying one of her pinks addons (Amanda's letter) than carrying nothing instead.

I personally disagree about the add-on dependancy. This is just my personal experience, but I think she is one of the most add-on dependant Killers in the game. I think her ambush and ESPECIALLY her traps need extra help to get going, but only a select few add-ons IMO will actually provide the necessary help her Power needs.

As I said on maps that do best for it like Scratched Mirror Myers, IE Leiry's or The Game, it works like magic. Also like Scratched Mirror Myers,  it loses a lot of it's power when survivors have consistent LoS and no means for you to break it.

That sounds less "broken" and more "situational".

  • The main part of this perk I want to focus on is the anti-bleeding part of it. I added the insta-up so No Mither could still get you up. How about you can use the insta up action once your recovery progress is at 25%?

Rework: You no longer can receive hemorrhaging and bleed 50% / 75% / 100% less while injured.
You can also instantly recover from the dying state by pressing the action button when recovered to 25% in the dying state. However, you will receive the Broken status effect for the rest of the trial. This effect can only be used once per trial

I think this seems a fair bit more balanced?  One thing to note is that if the Killer notices that your blood leakage seems to be mysteriously absent, they will probably suspect that you have No Mither and will never let you use the insta-revive.  The question then becomes "Would no blood be good enough if I can never use the insta-revive?"
  • @TAG said:

I'm saying that their power in wasting the Killer's time is increased a decent bit when their effective hit points (even if only for the first hook) go up from four to five.

Yes but it'd be easier to down them, because they're broken.

Yes, but by then you've already hit them enough times that under typical circumstances, they'd be one hit away from (most likely) dying assuming they were able to heal up after every unhook.  In total, you'd have to hit them seven times to knock them oit of the game (eight if they happen to hit Adrenaline at the right time), except five of those times are just to get the first hook.

And all this is assuming you just tunnel the hell out of them until they die.  Suppose you spend 5 hits going for one person, hook them, and then go after someone else.  That was 2.5 hooks' worth of hits just to get one actual hook.  The amount of effort you spent to start your momentum was 250% the time it would have taken under normal circumstances.
  • @TAG said:

Right, but consider how much time could potentially be wasted at the start by one Survivor without any help at all or without having to wait until the last gen is about to be finished.

It's true they'd waste the killer's time, but that's what all decisive strike players do. Grab the killers attention and loop them. Once they're down they can decisive strike and run away. Here, they'd be broken for the rest of the game. Remember when they were going to do that with decisive strike? Plus, if you down someone and then they get up right in front of you, pallet or window, you can easily catch up and one hit them. And they screw themselves when they do this.

I'm saying that their power in wasting the Killer's time is increased a decent bit when their effective hit points (even if only for the first hook) go up from four to five.

    Consider the following scenario:

A player being chased eventually gets hit twice and downed, uses Decisive Strike to break free, heals up with Anti-Hemorrhaging Syringe or Styptic Agent, runs away, eventually gets hit twice and downed, uses your No Mither perk to get back up, runs away, is hit again and downed, then is picked up and finally (hopefully) hooked.

Yeah but wouldn't the survivor be broken afterwards AND not have decisive strike AND not have a instant-heal. Same thing would happen if they were still running decisive strike, instant-heal AND adrenaline or a flashlight save or a body block hook. No matter what you'll have to deal with situations like that. In this situation, they'd be broken afterwards. Either way, No Mither does need to be reworked. It sucks right now.

Um moris are not cheap? You need to perform well as the killer vs any survivor regardless who uses it can make use of what a key does.

Killers earn their mori. And you know they’re KILLERS. Why are you playing a game based off of the slasher genre if you don’t want killers to kill and see cool cutscenes?
lol perform well by hooking them once then downing them again. there's not a lot of "earning" going on for u to mori somebody. it definitely is cheap and boring. and idk if i can speak for others but i play this game for the chases, not to watch cutscenes ???
You still get your chases. But in true horror fashion, you lose the chase ya die. This is supposed to be a horror game not an edgy version of ring around the rosy.
Remember that this is supposed to be a game first, and games should strive for balance.
  • Idk about removing them, but I'm for nerfing Mememto Mori offerings (not the Cypress one, obviously) and Keys (not thr Broken one, naturally).
  • Isnt it that what we want? Killers to be not depended on addons so you can combat good survivors without addons? And addons only do a little boost or change the power in a different way.
My personal stance is that going with no add-ons should put you at a disadvantage, but add-ons should be even enough that you should not be dependent on specific add-ons to not feel crippled.
  • The ones I personally think need to be modified (be it re-worked or simply buffed) are:

    -Workshop Grease

    -Shattered Syringe

-John's Medical File (I have somewhat come around on Medical File, but I think it and Shattered Syringe could use very slight buffs tacked on so that they both are not outclassed by the same uncommon add-on)

    -Razor Wire

    -Face Mask

    -Utility Blades

    -Interlocking Razors

    -Rusty Attachment

-Slow-Release Toxin (Yes, I'm putting this one here.  It only does anything meaningful if you are tunneling the Survivor with the RBT.  And if you're doing that, you're doing Pig wrong.)

-Jigsaw's Annotated Plan (I don't think this one is as much in need of change as the others, but I think having the timer be only slightly increased would not break anything.  Heck, from there, you could add an uncommon add-on that could just be the current Jigsaw's Annotated Plan.  Call it "Jigsaw's First Draft," maybe?)

    -Amanda's Secret

    -Amanda's Letter

-Rules Set No. 2 (I think you could honestly make this base kit.  Even if you didn't, this does not seem like an Ultra Rare to me.)

I think she could use a few other buffs/QoL changes here and there, but I think most of the changes she needs should be given to her add-ons.e

EDIT: You know what?  Screw it, potentially unpopular opinion: Slow-Release Toxin don't cut it either.  None of the ones that inflict penalties on RBT wearers are worth it IMO.  Face Mask doesn't actually matter when the Survivor is jjust going after Boxes (and is countered by SWF), Rusty Attachments + Utility Blades are just outclassed by Sloppy Butcher (though even then, I wouldn't use Utility Blades; Rusty Attachments MAAAAAAAAAAAYBE, but doubtful), and Slow-Release Toxin only really does anything meaningful if you are tunneling the person with the RBT, which pretty much defeats the point of the RBTs in the first place. All of the add-ons that add penalties to the RBT (with the arguable exception of Rusty Attachments) run counterproductive to the goal of the RBT, which is to waste time.  If you're actively worrying about the RBT wearers in any sense beyond "hey, look who I coincidentally found; may as well take 'em out" or " alright, let's waste this schmuck's time to up the chances of the trap snapping", you're doin' it wrong.

  • 1.2something, I think?

  • No. I think trying to make as many of them at least semi-viable is a good thing to shoot for, but trying to make them all "the best of the best" is a fool's goal that would destroy balance. Not even talking about it in regards to this game specifically, but just game balance in general.

  • @Khroalthemadbomber said:
Amanda's Letter is for all intent and purpose Vanity Mirror. I worry if we gave it the normal amount of RBTs it would cause a LOT of camping. That said I don't mind the idea of it having more Jigsaw boxes instead of just two. Much like Scratched/Vanity Mirror, it is heavily map dependent in regards to power. I only bring this up due to the constant drivel I hear about it being her worst add-on. No THAT title goes to Amanda's Secret which DEFINITELY needs a rework.

Amanda's Letter, if anything, is "All-Seeing - Blood" with extra downsides tacked on. Both let you see Auras within a 12 meter radius while using their stealth abilities, but the Pig moves slower than normal while in stealth mode whereas the Wraith moves faster while in stealth mode. When the Pig originally came out, "All-Seeing - Blood" only had a radius of 8 meters, so one could have theoretically made the argument that they were trying to balance for the extra range, but now? Ehhhhhhhhhhhh I don't think so. I guess the question is "Would it be an issue if the Pig effectively had her equivalent of 'All-Seeing - Blood' knowing that she effectively had two Powers (ambushing and Reverse Bear Traps) compared to the Wraith's one?"

All that being said, though, Amanda's Secret is traaaaaaaash. I've seen a few people vouch for Amanda's Letter; I've NEVER see anyone vouch for Amanda's Secret without them taking it back once they were corrected on what it actually did. She has a number of add-ons that are not up to snuff, but that one is by far the worst one. IMO it is not worth losing the Jigsaw Box auras for 6 seconds of Survivor aura that only activates in VERY specific spots that you no longer know the locations of.

I didn't find that bug helpful, glad it got fixed.

That's why I'd want it refined.  Fixed properly, you can use the Jigsaw puppet laughs to determine where a Survivor with an RBT might be, how many boxes they have left to search, and potentially which boxes they still need to search.
  • 1 - I think rather then the first box never having a key needing 2 keys would be more fitting. Could reduce search times if needed.

I initially thought that at first.  Then I realized that with needing two keys, if the Survivor guesses wrong on the first two boxes, the Pig can force the trap to go off because she can camp either of the remaining two boxes knowing that the Survivor will never be able to properly search them both.  Granted, you only have a 1/6 chance of that happening, but consider that the Pig would still be able to theoretically camp the last box like she already has the means of doing.  I don't think that is a good thing.

3 -nope unless you can magically search jigsaw boxes faster

How would you feel about the following additional changes if they made it so people with RBTs die if they tried to jump into the hatch:

    1) The time it takes to search a Jigsaw Box is reduced by 50% when there is only one Survivor remaining in the Trial.

    2) When there is only one Survivor remaining in the Trial, Good Skill Checks are considered Great Skill Checks while searching a Jigsaw Box.

    3) "Bag of Gears" and "Crate of Gears" add-ons receive the following nerf to the time increase in searching Jigsaw Boxes: "Slightly/Considerably increases the time it takes Survivors to search a Jigsaw Box. Does not apply if there is only one Survivor remaining in the Trial."

  • If I got to choose? Rotten Fields, I guess.

  • Buff 1 - The point is that it's random. I mainly get my RBT off on the last box i search

Math doesn't support that. You only have a 25% chance of having to search all four boxes each time you have a trap placed on your head.

    @Xycronian said:
Buff 1 - You might as well not be crouched. You are going the same speed as the nurse.

I don't think going the same speed as a non-blinking Nurse is anywhere near "may as well not be crouched."

  • RBT Buff 1: Sure, I'm on board with that
RBT Buff 2: I wouldn't do this if Buff 1 is also being implemented. Either or, but not both.
RBT Buff 3: I like the idea of traps snapping on the hatch, but I think it needs to be easier to get the trap off while there's only one Survivor left to compensate.

    Ambush Buff 1: Sure?
    Ambush Buff 2: I don't think that's necessary.

Add-Ons: I think more of her add-ons need buffs/re-works than just those two. Also, I'm not sure how I feel about having them shrink skill checks since Unnerving Presence can further shrink the Success Zones (I think? Hard to tell since Huntress Lullaby apparently does not work with Jigsaw Boxes).

  • It's hard to say, IMO.  I think between that, RSN2 being base kit, and the first Jigsaw Box being auto-fail, having the timer auto-start is probably the one that has the highest chance of having a negative impact on gameplay, but I don't necessarily think it's such a high chance that I could not see it working.

At the same time, that is also the option that will least solve the problem of the trap coming off too quickly, and I think having multiple of the above options being implemented in base kit would be overkill.  Rules Set #2 makes it harder for the trap to come off before the timer starts, and the first box being auto-fail would just overall raise the average amount of time needed to search the boxes.  Having the timer auto-start creates the odd scenario of the trap being deadlier but not actually any more difficult to remove.
I wouldn't say put ON since that'd be a tad broken. If they were going to do something LIKE that I'd recommend maybe that once a survivor is rescued from a hook it'll start to tick but I'm hardly the first to think of that.
I assume OP means for the timers to still pause while the Survivor is downed/being chased/hooked.  Just that the Timer would not have to wait for a gen to finish for the countdown to start.
  • I assume it'll be like before.  Sometimes I'll get ambushed because I didn't properly make sure the coast was clear, sometimes I'll derp and mistakenly think someone is doing a really bad job at bodyblocking the hook.  Beyond that, not too worried.
  • Welp, that's...yeah. That's great.

  • I don't see an issue with a Killer deciding that they want the other guy because they're not taking the bait or whatever, but if Killer and Survivor are working together to take down another Survivor, that is not cool.
  • Potentially stupid question, but are you SURE they didn't jump into the hatch with, like, a key or something?

    ?

why green text? too big ego lol

Evan MacMillan idolised his father. It wasn't just that he was heir to a great fortune, it was the way he ran the estate. Raised under his firm hand, Evan had taken to running the workforce with an iron hand. Production was always high and the MacMillan Estate prospered under father and son.

As Archie MacMillan's mental health slowly disintegrated, Evan protected him from the herd who wanted a piece of the fortune. No matter what his father asked of him, Evan would do.

When Archie MacMillan finally snapped, Evan became his enforcer in what would become known as the worst mass murder in modern history. They never proved that Evan lead over a hundred men into those dark tunnels before detonating the explosives and sealing them to their fate. The tale of the MacMillan Estate is a tale of wealth and power gone very wrong.

How many victims fell to the hands of father and son is unknown. No record is ever made of what became of Evan MacMillan. His father is another unsolved puzzle, found trapped in the locked basement of his own warehouse - starved and abandoned

I mean, the trapper's dad is dead, but he is the new killer as a zombie maybe

I would rather Slippery Meat alter the way you can be grabbed from things. Maybe you get 1/2/3 tokens and everytime the killer would have grabbed you from a gen or from a locker or something, instead you break the grab and lose a token. Though it should drop you to injured state if you were healthy. Kind of like DS but for grabs, and without a stun to the killer (or maybe a super short one just so they can't spam attack).

That would make it a hard counter to Scratched Mirror Myers and Prayer Bead Spirit. It'd also let you commit to things where you would otherwise just get grabbed. Also you could bait grabs, like if the killer is face camping or something.

This sounds like it's just turning a bug into a feature.

...I like it. Would the Survivor still be picked up first before they break free, or is the entire grab just completely negated?

  • I could see myself as Wraith, but not as Nea.  I ain't no hooligan.
  • So if I change my name to "ShaqFu=DC", will you play Shaq Fu?
  • I wanna play Pig without having to worry about bugs like this. :(

Here's an idea. You want to be the obsession? Run more obsession perks!

ok gimme a 5th perk slot then cuz my build is impossible to change

See, now that is a bug. You should be able to remove perks at will and change your build.

I think OP just means that they don't want to change their build to add more Obsession perks.
