  • Same reason why you have to buy DLC characters for fighting games to use them in single player. :P

DS isn't bugged. When multiple are running it in the same game instance the obsession is chosen at random from the eligible players. You don't need weighted priority as the perk still works anyway. The higher level of the perk just makes it more efficient.

It's not fair! you grinded more for tier 3, so you deserve to become the obsession more than a tier 1

if you work 8hr/day doing the same task than someone 3hrs/day, do you want the other to be promoted?

Your logic does not hold up.  What if Tier 3 Decisive was one of the first perks you got in the Blood Web, but it took someone forever to even see Tier 1 Decisive?  Then you didn't grind more for that Tier 3 Decisive than that someone did for that Tier 1 Decisive.

it took me ages to get damn tier 3 of DS, maths dont lie, is more likely harder a tier 3 than a tier 1

So?  Maybe it took someone even longer to get Tier 1 Decisive.

okay here is proof DS is bugged

I was tier 3 DS and that guy was the obsession with just tier 1 and no OoO or similar perks

    fix plz

If the devs intended for it to be like that by design, it's not a bug.  Nowhere in the game does it say that higher-tiered Survivor obsession perks take priority over lower-tiered Survivor obsession perks when deciding who is the Obsession.

it is logical to think a higher DS tier has priority over lower tier

you grinded for it, was not intended, clear bug, bro

You have not proven that higher tiered obsession perks not taking priority was not intended, regardless of whether you think it's logical or not.

  • This game needs a "Killers Win/Survivors Win/Draw" screen.  No more ambiguity/subjectivity about what is considered winning or losing.
  • Lol, are you guys serious???
I'm talking about a perk buff which is actualy weak. I'm not talking about nerfing the Pig. But i guess you guys cant make the difference. Ok so, if i'm following your logic, Calm Spirit is litteraly TOO op because it disable the entier Doctor power. But, who play Calm Spirit? Who play Slipery Meat? Uh? Nobody, that's right! Another thing. How it doesn't make sense? Remind me the name of this perk please. S L I P P E R Y M E A T. What make this buff senseless when you have to put your arms in a box trap, bleeding by shaking your arms and have a chance to find the right key.

I don't like things that are not Killer add-ons that still directly interact with a Killer's power.  As far as I am aware, the only thing that should augment a specific Killer's power is that Killer's add-ons.
  • When someone suggests a reasonable buff to an underpowered perk: "Wont work", "Uselesss", "Way OP", "Doesnt Make Sense."

If the Dev's actually put the exact change in the next patch: "Great move!", "Finally!"

I would not be happy if the devs did this exact thing.  And not because I main Pig.  I would feel the same way if Tinkerer was buffed to say "The speed of searching Jigsaw Boxes is decreased by 15/20/25%."
  • The correct answer is for people to use whatever they want as long as there is no active hacking/cheating/exploiting/etc. and not let people shame them for doing so.  If something ends up being OP/UP/crutchy/etc., it falls on the devs to do something about it, not the players to be obligated to feel bad about using something they might otherwise enjoy using.

I'm not saying Judith's Tombstone should be buffed, but considering that Myers with Judith's Tombstone is slowed enough that EW3 Myers barely runs faster than regular EW1 Myers and can't exactly take advantage of the increased lunge if he is trying to go for the Mori, I think it's safe to say that simply outmaneuvering Myers could be considered a "counter" in a sense.

I'm talking specifically about Fragrant Tuft of Hair. It needs more drawbacks other than "need more stalk" because you get infinite one shot. Something to balance it out, because if you use it by itself with the add-on that increase stalk rate you can get it pretty easily. I just play against a Myers with infinite tier 3 and he got it with 3 gens left. We ended up having to leave a guy in the basement to die because he was kind of camping her, which was the only reason it ended in a 2-2. If he pressured us more then it might have ended for a 3k, maybe 4k for him. All because he has infinite one shots.

Ah, okay.  My bad for misunderstanding you.
  • I already don't like the idea of the perk being better against exactly one Killer.  I would rather not have it be better against exactly two.

Easy to say one guys messaged me saying "Reported", so yeah I'm kinda scared as well. But overall I think that console bans are a good thing

As long as you don't make a habit of it, I doubt they will do anything.  The devs aren't going to ban someone for a single disconnect that could realistically have a number of different explanations for it.

On the contrary, I would improve Tombstone. Would give Michael the opportunity in the 3rd stage of evil with this addon to kill survivors who are trying to avoid death while sitting in a locker ;)

Sure remove the only counter tactic to dying instantly. applauds

What they should do is change the requirements for Evil Incarnate so that someone can't screw you over by doing this. IMO that achievement shouldn't even exist.

Well, no, but how do you want? I'm running the whole damn game at reduced speed, trying to accumulate the damn 3rd stage, then to look at the miserable, cowardly ######### in the lockers? I’m not talking about those games when the weak survivors allow the third stage of evil to accumulate. And even then, if they find out about my add-ons earlier, they will also avoid dying in the lockers and it turns out I again wasted my very rare addons.
And then what? Can offer your version of this tombstone buff? Maybe remove this reduction in speed or reduce the amount of evil that is required to get the 3rd stage? Or it may be to reduce his rarity, because at the moment this tombstone does not justify itself. Does not justify its price, because many people know how to avoid death from it.
And again, I’m not talking about games where you play against weak survivors. We are talking only about high ranks, where people know how to counter this tombstone. Michael already depends very much on the map on which he will play. And if an experienced team is against him, then she will not allow him to get the 3rd stage, let alone to kill someone with the help of the addon.

Dude you can outright kill people immediately and it lasts the entire game once you get it. You're asking for the ONLY COUNTER to this to be removed. Sure it takes effort and time to build up, but you're saying once you have it you should just win the game by instantly killing everyone.

No if I jump in a locker I'm forcing you to either hook or slug me, and therefore I'm not dying immediately. I said the ACHIEVEMENT is stupid and shouldn't be a thing because people can do this, but if you're not going for the achievement then why is slugging/hooking such a big deal? Stop asking for freebies.

Tombstone doesn't need a buff, you're crazy to even ask for it. The whole build is a gimmick, and gimmicks don't work against high ranks. Case and point, the 5 totem build is a gimmick build. It's not meant to be meta or anything. High rank survivors will see you run this build and then rush all your totems. If they proc HG they will probably not care unless they are being chased. But be sure that the moment the group realizes what you are doing, then you will see 2 or 3 totems get touched at once with TOTH. Infinite tombstone is a gimmick in the same vein, so no it should not be buffed.

If you want to tombstone high ranks use the piece. It's less costly and more effective. Just don't expect to get more than 1 survivor with it if they are smart, so use that 1 kill wisely.

  • Alright, so my loadout should be as follows:

    -Franklin's Demise
    -Sloppy Butcher
    -Hex: Ruin
    -Hex: No One Escapes Death
    -Blood Warden
    -Surveillance
    -Pop Goes The Weasel
    -Overcharge
    -Knock-out
    -Cypress Mori

    Sound okay. :P

Sometimes I just cant be arsed and decide to leave without trying because it's not enjoyable playing against some pay 2 win killer whose bought all killers for the most toxic perk build possible.

It's with this sort of person, the person who feels the need to "pay 2 win" that it's not worth fighting against because their inevitably going to be some neurologically defective sociopath who thrives on misery.

This is ironically a very problematic mentality to have.  Also misguided because the two Killers who are generally considered the best in the game are both free for players.

What about slowing down the needle slightly for Skill Checks? "Your Skill Checks are X% slower." or something.

    CandyMan

If he got in I'd make his power to lay down bees on chests, vaults, lockers, gens, pallets, totems, exit gates, the trapdoor and hooks. Any survivor who interacts with a trapped object lets out a small scream and for 4-6 seconds will have bees follow them. Candyman will see their auras when the bees are following a survivor if they are within his terror radius.

Candyman could only trap 10 items at a time. Survivors can not be injured by the bees. Mabye an ultra rare add-on could do that.

No, she has add-ons for her traps and that's good enough, I've seen a guy die when trying to escape after he took off her trap and I still don't know why that happened but I assume it's an add-on. This happened the day after the 2.5 patch. Also I get tunneled a lot with my trap on now that everybody and their grandma's wrinkly ass wants to play piggy. It made me stop playing the game for almost a week. Every game I get trappers in the grassiest map with the freaking broken boats or I get a try hard, tunneling piggy who find me almost as soon as the matches start, probably because I purposely wear bright clothes on my characters and don't crouch around everywhere. and wanna tunnel me when there's like 2 gens left and 3 perfectly fine survivors.

For what it's worth, most of her add-ons are not good. I wouldn't necessarily advocate for restockable traps, but she does need more buffs than what she currently has received.

I haven't played piggy yet so I don't know much about her besides the fact that if I see a jigsaw box while loading into a game I'm going to poop myself and likely be found first and terrorized to death. An add on she had on the dwight that died trying to escape even though he no longer had a trap on was one where the survivor takes damage while they are in motion. I don't know if it persists after the trap is off or what. But he got blood spurting out of his trap-less head and died trying to head out the gate. I don't remember what the other one is, but maybe this while be of use to you.

There is no add-on that does what you describe. There are the Utility Blades, which make the Survivors suffer from Hemorrhaging while they are wearing the RBT, but that doesn't actually damage the wearer and stops functioning after the RBT is removed. Either you missed something, or there's some sort of bug at play here.

  • I highly doubt the circumstances you are describing are going to get either of you two banned. I'd say just keep playing as normal and assume that you two have nothing to worry about?

  • Iron Maiden - "Survivors who exit Lockers...and their location is revealed for 3 seconds."

    Barbecue and Chilli - "
After hooking a Survivor, all other Survivors' Auras are revealed to you for 4 seconds..."

Rancor - "Each time a Generator is completed, all Survivors' locations are revealed to you for 3 seconds."

Note how Barbecue and Chilli is the only one that explicitly mentions that it reveals Auras.

They're risk reward for a reason and you never complain when they work and you get kills now do you.

Let’s not pretend getting to mori level DH is at all more similar to DH getting destroyed before hook number 3, because it’s actually quite rare, so yeah...no killer would complain when they do get full stacks.

And the risk far outweighs the reward for DH (because you need 5 hooks, 2 of which puts survivors on notice before getting to the mori) as opposed to another hex like Ruin, which has an immediate effect every killer that uses it can get something out of (even if it gets destroyed in under 30 seconds.)

Actually that's incorrect because the survivors don't know it's at exposed status unless you down someone with a melee hit. If you locker grab or grab someone trying to do a vault they never get the exposed effect.

the other difference is the DH is an extremely game altering perk more so than Ruin is which is why it's how it is. If it's get changed to this it becomes brokenly op more so than DS is.

No?? Ds is literally unavoidable, and this would just put DH on the same level as noed - clean the totems and you’re a okay.
But NOED leaves you down a perk until the Exit Gates are powered.  Devour Hope does not.
  • Oh yeah?  If it's top tier, then WHY AM I STILL BAD?  Checkmate.

    :(
  • The only way I'd be okay with (and not even, like, something I'd actively want to see) restockable traps would be as an Ultra Rare that did something like this:

-Gain 1 Reverse Bear Trap whenever a Survivor removes a Reverse Bear Trap.
-Reduces available Reverse Bear Traps by 2/3 (not sure which one is correct, but it should definitely be one of them, especially to prevent synergy with Amanda's Letter).

If you're going to be able to restock bear traps like that, it should be at the cost of how many RBTs you can have in play at once.
  • Yamaoka said:
    Wait. I'm confused.
How are you not escaping? You're the last one alive as everyone else escaped.

As far as I know a slugged survivor can crawl out the gate safely with an RBT on.
The bear trap will still pop if you crawl out unless the pig downs you after the walls within the gate and uses the trap there. And the hatch was closed because one survivor decided to look for chests instead of leaving. He probably waited for me to die so he could use the hatch himself.
The thing that confused me is why didn't you just go to the Exit Gate if you just wanted to die and move on?  Did you just not know where it was or something?
  • Wait. I'm confused.
How are you not escaping? You're the last one alive as everyone else escaped.

As far as I know a slugged survivor can crawl out the gate safely with an RBT on.
If I understood correctly, someone was still in the trial plundering chests, which was keeping the hatch closed.

As for the gate, I'm pretty sure you're right on that, but even if you weren't, theoretically speaking, if you were just interested in the game ending, you could try crawl to the Exit Gate if you knew where it was and snap the trap.  If the Pig tries to pick you up and move you away, you can wiggle until they either out you down (in which you rinse and repeat) or you break free.
  • Do whatever you want there are no console bans. They claim they will retroactively ban but we all know thats a pile of shyte. They just trying to hide their impotence. Have fun!

I thought I saw more than one post (though not from a dev, mod, etc., admittedly) saying they will only count reports moving forward or something?

I think that one of the best QoL buffs that Trapper could get is a possibility for him to reset traps without picking them up first.

Also, streamlining how escaping a trap is would be a major boon for him. Instead of relying on RNG, it'd be a guaranteed base of time that survivors are trapped (with overall time trapped increased with addons). They'd need to channel the whole time to open up the trap holding them prisoner. Adding skillchecks that reset progress if missed as well?

Also, its about time to remove the ability for survivors to sabo traps. Seriously, this should have never been in the game. No survivor should be able to take away a killers power. Disarming is bad enough, but I understand why it exists or trappers could make some pretty freaky setups.

    Sabo on traps is horrid.

I agree with this, but not for the same reason as you.  I just think it's a super arbitrary mechanical design choice that doesn't really fit with the idea that only Killer add-ons should directly interact with Killer powers.  Same goes for stuff like Hangman's Trick for bear traps, flashlights for Wraith's cloak, Nurse's blink, and Hag's traps, and Wake Up for Freddy's sleep powers.

You mean you're fine with survivors escaping on the first attempt, even when the Trapper is using both his "makes it harder to escape" addons?

    ...no?
  • Plugging my idea thread in here :p

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/43370/random-idea-to-buff-totems#latest

tl;dr - Different triggers to light the totems custom-tailored to each Hex perk
  • I've seen that myself a few times, but it's been with 5 boxes in play.  Still, given that one screencap of the two totems RIGHT next to each other, I am hesistant to give the devs the benefit of the doubt on this one.

Just because they buffed her Base crouch and Uncrouch doesn't mean that they didn't nerf combat straps. They In fact, did make combat straps less effective, whether it works out to the same numbers because they upped her base stats, is irrelevant.
Strongly disagree on the base stat buff being irrelevant.  The context definitely matters in this case.  Telling someone "They nerfed Combat Straps" is a lot different from telling them "They buffed her base crouch speed, but they also nerfed Combat Straps so the total crouch speed is unchanged when using them."

  • Take a wrench out of the toolbox and smack a Killer in the face.  Preferably one that isn't a goliath, supernatural in nature, or wielding some giant weapon.  Like Clown.  Whack him in the face.  I can't die, so I get as many chances as I want.
  • Only two things were made worse for Pig overall:

    -TR was increased by 4m
-TR fades back in faster when you get up from a crouch. (which is in a sense counteracted by the fact that her TR also fades out faster when crouching)

To say that Combat Straps technically being nerfed is an overall nerf for Pig doesn't really make sense because they buffed the base crouch speed such that using the Combat Straps still gives you the same crouch speed as using the Combat Straps before. The advantage now is that you still get most of the benefit of the old Combat Straps while still having both of your add-on slots free. If you still would rather just always use Combat Straps, nothing has changed for you in that regard (for better or worse).

I still think that she needs more buffs than this (particularly to her add-ons), but I definitely wouldn't agree that these buffs overall feel more like nerfs.

Today is the last day of the “2 week period”, so we’ll either hear about it today or it’s probably gonna be delayed.
To quote it directly, "We will share more details about the upcoming Moonrise event in the next couple of weeks."

So not strictly two. But seeing as how the event itself is starting at the end of the month, and that it would be silly to reveal details after the event starts, you can expect news on it soon.
Perhaps I’m mistaken in assuming that most people view “couple” as 2.

Either way, I’m more interested in whether we’ll get 2.5.0 today rather than some event. I don’t believe we’ve heard anything in regards to dates on that.
I generally take "couple of" to mean "few".  For "two," I'd lean more towards using "a pair".
Pair is also word that means 2.

However I’ve never heard “in a pair of weeks” before.

I’ve heard in a “a couple of weeks”, “a few weeks”, and “several weeks.”
All true, but none of the bottom three terms definitively means "two weeks," to be fair. ;)
