yes he's my main killer still but he isn't as much fun now than before, all they had to do was gut his charge time/cooldown addons
I find him just as fun as before the nerf but I also ran him addonless mostly. The chargetime cooldown addons were necessary when god windows and tile spacing were issues in maps. Bandaid addons. They’re not needed anymore and are indeed overkill.
I play him with no gen slowdown now and still regularly 4k. They did a good job on his rework. I’d just adjust a few addons, mostly black grease.
-
I once got a 32,000 bloodpoint 2k match. Very proud of that too.

I have enough in-game currency to buy a killer that I want. But with Christmas coming, do I wait and hope they make characters half off? Or do I buy now?
I would wait. If you’re using Auric Cells I think they will have a sale in the next week. If you want to buy the chapters, there’s probably several deals online.
-
It’s so easy no one wants to play killer as shown by the survivor queue times.

the devs said that they were "happy" with the way billy was performing then boom he gets nerfed and nearly all his addons are useless, also his current animations also suck please revert his base power
He is still very much the same killer as before. Just no Tuning Guide, Thompson Mix, or their lesser forms. The builds that existed before are still there. Bumper, drift king, and silent Billy was especially buffed.
There are some tweaks I’d like to happen to a handful of his addons, but he’s still strong. He’s still very much the same killer.
They had to balance him down to the reworked maps and they were right to do it.

Read the four emblems after a trial. They are short concise explanations of how each emblem is increased. If you just want to vent, you can ignore this comment.
-
Oni is the best of the three imo. I love Ghostface, but not as strong. Twins seem strong but can have frustrating moments. Go with Oni.
-
As a more experienced player, I think it has something to do with removing all the resources available to a player for shortening the game and devolving a trial to an uncompetitive place. A five gen, 3v1 is a horrible experience and incredibly dull for the four remaining players. Killer included.
A key can actually be stopped by playing well, but the game, at least currently, is set where an experienced killer does not lose a chase.
The top survivors goal, if you listen to them. Listen to them discuss strategy, is not to play expecting to get away, but to make a chase last forty five or more seconds.
With that circumstance (good killers guarantee winning a chase and a one hook mori) in mind, a 3v1 is basically guaranteed.
Does that make sense? One hook moris are bad and the devs got another one right. Sorry for your loss.
@Worm621 said:
As a killer only player, I want to know what hell happened to this game on last update?
Two hook Mori? That’s bullshit. What’s the point? They would be dead on 3rd hook anyway? Killers already had the disadvantage in vaulting, speed and everything else.
Ive went from a full on 4/4 kill games with merciless killer awards to being lucky to kill one survivor now.

The rat liver is NOT overrated, it is the addon that can help you draw the line between the survivor turning a corner so you can land the shred, it allows you to take your time holding it so you make sure you land your shred, it's on top of all tier lists for a reason.
It's simple, we just need more addons towards his shred instead of portals
I sounded pretty smart in August, huh?
-
Might be fun to try Oppression/Trail of Torment on a silent Billy.
-
Everytime I see a Billy thread like this I go on a Hillbilly tear. He’s underrated. Theres a few addons I’d like changed but he is not gutted.
I wanted to play him some today because they said they fixed the overheat after breaking a pallet issue with 4.4.2.
-
OhToFu has the best guide. Check it out on YT to get your knowledge up. Then watching others can be just as good of experience as playing. Once you get it down, he’s one of the best killers and ridiculously underrated right now.
-
I’m going to have to disagree. If one 1,080 skin is released in the store out of a 1,000 rift that comes with seven to eight skins, twenty plus charms, and the player gets the auric cells back. Well, it doesn’t defeat the purpose at all does it?
Plus I missed the first rift because I switched platforms early this year. Looking forward to the Hillbilly skin from it. 🤩
-
Dip your toe. It’s not always so bad.
-
The iri shards are the real gifts. Those are not as easy to get and we’ve gotten 1,500 so far.

The exit gate thing, I can't really be mad at the killer for. It's a good strategy for the twins when the survivors have done all the gens.
However, you got caught by victor, and didn't try to remove him before exiting. That is entirely your fault.
You could have snuck up on him while they were switching, kicked him. Then opened it. Again, entirely your fault you didn't try to play around it.
Yup, people don’t know how to play against them yet. It’s understandable with being a new killer but unfair to say it needs to be changed this early.
-
Hard pass on buffing Trapper. His snowball is ridiculous as is and I get trap PTS for like the next ten games.
-
I’m in the midst of prestiging but my feeling is similar. Strong killer.

I've been asking for this since the first Tome. Also being denied an Adept achievement after 9 hooks when someone DCs so there's no way to get Iri Devout is a problem and what took me 15 games in a row trying to get Plague Adept
DCs count as kills on the emblems. It used to not, but it should now. I know there’s also a bug with the Devout emblem recently, as evidenced by the Adept Twins threads in General.
-
Most of the situations I have been in that are defined as bullying are usually massive mistakes by survivors who probably have no intention on winning the trial. Learn the counters as killer. Recognize what situation you’re in and how to deal with it.
-
Look, if a Pig wasn’t able to get four or five downs (therefore trapping the caught survivors) before the fifth generator activates, the killer was probably going to lose anyways.
-
Maybe they are using Dwight but it’s unnoticeable.
-
The lack of Hillbilly being mentioned is concerning to me. A lot of players are really not believers in him. His heat mechanic is not different enough from pre nerf to exclude him from listing as he is definitely amongst the top of addon less killers.
More than Spirit. More than Hag. Both of which their powers are greatly enhanced by addons, and therefore arguably have dependence on them.

I think after receiving feedback on the legendary skins released, they decided to make some of the planned legendarys purple rarity. Which was a good move.
I think the two killer ones currently out are great and can’t wait for an equivalent skin for Hillbilly.

didn't they say we would get BP depending on our rank upon a reset or am i getting that confused with a post. It was awhile ago so i don't recall.
This was a leak. Nothing official.

If I thought this game had lootbox or gambling styled mechanics that were pulling large amounts of money out of players or particularly children, I would find quitting posts much more like a needed thing.
The frustrations of players revolve around competing and not feeling like they can. Still a warranted complaint at times but this game does not do any of the evils I have witnessed from other organizations.
This is probably the core of my thinking when I see quitting posts and why I also do not take it particularly seriously. The game has a small cost of entry.

Ugh, hit level seventy yesterday.

Well they are perks that synergize great with their power and I just asked how well do they preform without those perks. I rarely see an Oni without Infectious. Or a Slinger without Monitor.
Those killers are strong because their powers are strong. My builds are:
Spirit - PGTW, STBFL, M&A, BBQ
Oni - UD, Ruin, M&A, BBQ
Very meta builds as well.
-
I’m surprised how many burner accounts make threads like this.
-
Funny this thread is stated like those are required perks.
I play Spirit without Stridor. Not because I feel guilty or it’s broken. I actually do not like the perk as survivors are too loud to pinpoint imo.
I play Oni without Infectious because I feel other perks add more value. I think I dropped Pop and IF (Junds Oni) for Ruin/Undying. I prefer Monitor over Infectious as well because the first hit is more important to me.
-
Nurse for me, too. She’s the only killer I could 4k with and be like alright, I’m done playing.
-
There shouldn’t be any portion of any map that can only be reached by a window. Those rooftops are poor design.
-
I did the hatch challenge without a key. Just be the last one out in a winning match. No problemo.
-
I like nodding with Billy after hitting a chainsaw. It’s just feels silly so I like doing it 😜
-
This is an interesting question but it also feels like a unique problem. What if holding a mouse hurts a players hand? At some point it’s to the user to determine how to help themselves.

Nope, you now need to hook them twice to mori them.
I don't know about other players but i might start using them more. I always felt bad for using them because i could just say "screw it" and turn the game around and that option was always tempting to do.
At least now they are more fair but still strong, you still take away any chance for a save after you down them on death hook and you usaully save time by killing them right there.
Agreed. They might feel fun to use now.
-
Not feeling this thread
-
As survivor, I use perks that bonk killers trying to be too efficient (DS), guarantee safe unhooks (BT), heal unhooked survivors faster (WMI), and earn more bloodpoints (WGLF).
This is my go to build as survivor.

that's assuming the survivor isn't good, killers win chases with their power and survivor mistakes, if you don't have a power and the survivor isn't making hit threatening mistakes you're not getting them quickly.
Even the best killers can be looped by survivors who are good and paying attention and predicting your moves, when no power comes into play the survivor controls the chase.
I feel your position assumes the killer is bad (can’t win a chase).

the problem is that good looper won't go down quickly, if they know your doing this they can play extra safe so they can waste more of your time and even if only 2 survivors are doing gens that is enough to make you lose.
Your best situation against good survivors is you find them all and halt their pressure which is situational, the more likely situation is they splitted up and 2 gens got done as or after you chased a single survivor. At worst they are really good and know how to play against a m1 killer which leads to more gens getting done and if you drop the chase you wasted your own time.
If the killer is losing chases, they probably deserve to lose. Hooking one of those three remaining non-Vic’d survivors commits one of the two remaining to altruism. Leaving the killer to chase the altruistic survivor or the gen survivor. It quickly snowballs in favor of the killer. I know this because I’ve played it.
It creates a lot of pressure and I’d recommend survivors remove Victor as soon as safely possible.

Imagine thinking one of the most loopable killers in the game was OP and didn't just need a nerf to instasaw add-ons.
Hillbilly was the pinnacle of balance. He should have been this games Ryu.
I main Hillbilly. I was concerned about his nerf as it happened. Turns out he’s really good now too. Are you struggling post nerf with Billy?

Sometimes I feel like I’m the only player that thinks like I do when I post something so glad to see another person agrees with what I say. Thank you.

2 players on gens as you spend over a minute chasing a single survivor that is good at looping while the one with victor just stays at a loop away from the others and preforms saves.
you turn yourself into a m1 killer without a power for one survivor to be semi disabled, if the survivors are good you will lose.
edit: this was literally proven in the ptb even good streamers said that the trade off wasn't worth it.
Hey man, it’s not three survivors on gens while you chase a good looper. Also I take in content from streamers as well (learned a lot from them too) but don’t base my opinions entirely on theirs.
-
I prefer the survivors take Victor hostage. I never recall him. If I recognize they are doing this I let the Vic’d survivor rat out his teammates with his killer instinct and chase the ones that can do actions. If you know how much a dead survivor harms a team, and they ghost themselves, it’s a major advantage to the killer.
-
It still skips a hook state and survivor second chance perks. Just after a second hook.
Sorry you have to play the game now.
-
They were previously activated with a single hook. Now it takes two hooks.
It was a problem before because a killer could completely skip a hook state for a kill, allowing them to bypass a few survivor defenses like DS. A killer can still bypass it, but now after the second hook.
-
I think they have been creating many balance changes over the last two years and although one thing seems to have been complained about for a while, it wasn’t as important years ago because of the long list of issues.
It’s like dominoes. My favorite example is: Maps were adjusted. No more god loops. They are smaller in scale with weaker loops. Suddenly Nurse and Hillbilly are overpowered (and they needed to be stronger before to compensate for other issues) after the changes.
Moris are the next domino it seems and the right decision at this time.
-
@Mandy said:
I believe that the speed was never the issue - he was actually the same speed as before but the FOV caused it to look much slower, so there looked like there was no speed increase during Frenzy
That would be fascinating if true.

Killer main and good with the mori nerf. Glad it’s not viewed as tit for tat by the devs.
