It's funny because the only people who say she has a lot of counterplay main spirit.

it is almost as if the people who play both killer and survivor know what makes both sides tick, making them better players on both sides because they understand the roles and what works and what doesn't work. playing spirit to know what works against you and what doesn't then changing how you play based on that knowledge. funny I bet you a lot of people who complain about spirit don't play her

Rank 20 Nurse actually has the lowest kill rate of any killer. If we were basing it off of rank 20, she would be buffed.

It's okay if you don't like the changes, but at least give them a try first and at least tell us why you don't like them. Making up reasons isn't going to accomplish anything.

neither does giving our feedback to, many people have said for a long time BASEKIT NURSE IS FINE ADDONS ARE THE PROBLEM. yet you still change the basekit. there is also many other things people want changed yet nothing gets done. and we have already given many reasons why not to like them without testing them, testing them will only give us more reasons. but knowing BHVR the changes will go through NO MATTER the feedback

  • @Mochan said:

    It's really not.

Haddonfield, infinites, large maps like temple of purgation, the nurse nerf called "slight changes to basekit", insta heals, keys, gen rushing, un-mindgameable pallets. want me to go on?

  • @Mr_Goodman said:

Another True video...... On to the point, even with this nerf Nurse isn't gonna be bottom tier. She will still be better than clown and Legion.

that isn't saying much really, it's like saying a nickel is worth more than a penny. it is yes but doesn't really make much of a difference

  • @Troman said:

I like what the DEVs plan to do to the base power. No more blink-spamming until you down someone, it adds more strategy to playing and countering the Nurse.

It took two years, but better later than never. A long needed change.

found the rank 20 entitled survivor

  • @CashelP14 said:

What even is this thread. The nurse needed her add-ons changed and I personally like how diverse her add-ons feel. They've made her:

    • Easier to learn for new players with her add-ons
    • Right distribution of add-ons
    • More diverse and interesting add-ons

Spirit already has become the most played killer at red ranks so this change won't make any difference to that in my opinion. I personally find playing the same killer all the time boring so I have 7 or 8 who I like to play with.

I agree with what @GrootDude was saying. Some games you just have to accept there was nothing you can do, you just won't win every single game. He plays leatherface, a killer who is considered weak yet does well with him. Old freddy was the perfect example of a killer who was considered bad, yet the freddy mains who knew how to play him could get 3/4 killers per game at red ranks easy.

Now I will admit I've played games where the killer has destroyed us, yet maybe 2 or 3 of us escaped. Normally though that's because they made a mistake or two. Maybe he should have slugged at times, maybe he should have played less fair or maybe should have left that one survivor and chased someone weaker.

most of the addons have been made redundant with the rework, YES omega blink WAS A PROBLEM, base kit WAS FINE. they nerfed the base kit to being on charges, basekit is now you get 2 charges and each blink consumes a charge, they recharge at a rate of 1 per 3 seconds. A BIG NERF to nurse. and with the addons some of them are stupid by nerfing nurse but rewarding for more BP, because SO MANY PEOPLE use those addons (not really) like "blinking near a survivor causes them to scream and you get bloodpoints" SO USEFUL! I do like the creativity with some of them like how if you blink and get a hit you become faster as nurse for a while etc. but I feel like to many of them have been made redundent

  • @ad19970 said:

Or maybe, just maybe, the killers used at red ranks are used because you can 4k so often with them, no matter how good the opposing team is. When people talk about Nurse and Spirit being the only two red ranks viable killers, I feel like the reason is because they can get 4ks most of their games. It can mean they are the only viable killers, but at this point, except for maybe on a few certain maps, I believe the reason is that they are a bit too powerful.

This outcry is crazy. PTB hasn't even been out yet, and it will take many days before people can really tell if she was overnerfed or not. This nerf only allows survivors to break LOS for a bit longer, so it buffs their counterplay slightly. That shouldn't hurt Nurse too much in any way.

survivors when playing at maximum potential or just close to it is even a hard game for nurse/spirit. also don't forget about the ranking system, to rank up as survivor you can die, get 2-3 saves, do a gen or 2, get chased just a little bit and you will AT LEAST black pip, probably pip. for killer? 3k and some 4ks are a black pip, unless you 3 hook every survivor, win every chase, not use killers like billy and plague (because chaser emblem is broken for them) you will not pip. 2k will be AT BEST a black pip but most of the time a depip. and this is NOT counting for people who DC which will affect it HEAVILY

Playing with your friends is fine, if the game was DESIGNED around it. They did not make this game thinking we would have tactical squads on comms like we do today. It is most certainly broken at higher elo if you aren't playing one of the top 3 killers. You will just not have a good time. At all.

it was made without voice chat FOR A REASON, ALSO why is it that some perks LIKE BOND are basically a little worse version of just asking "where is everyone and what are you doing" on comms? SWF gives you most of the aura reading survivor perks in the game FOR FREE, so each SWF survivor is playing with 4+ perks due to SWF comms. vs the 4 perk (3 perks because ruin is needed) killer. BHVR knew about how strong comms would be and INTENTIONALLY didn't put it into the base game. they instead turned that power into perks so that if the survivors wanted access to it they would need to use up perk slots. SWF comms BYPASSES THAT BALANCE. also it has been about 3 years and they have had no mention of putting comms into DBD, wouldn't be hard to I bet you but they have not done it FOR BALANCE REASONS

Killers? Poor survivors! Yhey have nothing to rely on! Just squads, broken maps and fun perks

Nurse was alaways the biggest problem, for real

SWF, insta heals, Haddonfield, infinites, un-mindgameable pallets, keys, insta heals, gen rushing, tons of pallets. O YES POOR SURVIVORS WOE IS THEM!

  • @cetruzzo said:

Don't worry, survivor's tears will get spirit nerfed and all will be balanced again.

if that happens I will quite DBD

insta heals, keys, gen rushing, bad ruin spots, infinites, Haddonfield. SWF

@SteelDragon All of which should be immaterial. You do realize that doing network and server coding is a different beast from programming perks and killer powers, or doing map design?

Unless their team is a majority Jack of All Trades but Masters of None somehow, the folks dealing with the Netcoding are very unlikely to be the general game programmers.

I actually have folks in my family with Masters Degrees in that field. Three people, as a matter of fact. And not a one of them could program game code to any professional degree.

But they can handle your server and networking coding just fine.

And yes, the issues being faced would be normal. The difference is that pretty much any other game studio would have built their game and the servers from the start to use Dedicated Servers. The issues would have been discovered and handled during closed Alpha, closed Beta, and then the final tweaks in Open Beta via massive player testing and load testing.

BHVR is doing this to a live Game-As-Service three-plus years after the fact. So, it's going to be messy as hell.

hence why I want them to take their time and not rush the servers, if they need to be delayed then DELAY them don't release it in a poor state and slowly patch it. I will not play DBD during that time

Yeah, that's why I made the poll - mixed was a lot better than I was expecting tbh. Looking at all the complaining that goes on on the forums, one would think that everyone is having a gamebreaking experience with them. According to the poll (to which respondees seemed to be mostly Australian or European, so maybe that's relevant) a good chunk of people actually consider them at least on par with their previous experience, if not an improvement.

I myself am American and have heard that the American experience was pretty bad, idk I don't live in other countries so I cant talk for them

  • @Kilmeran said:

@SteelDragon I'll reserve judgement on that until they announce they are launching them. They technically have until December 21st (the last day of Fall) to do so and make their new schedule, and a lot can happen with the Netcode in two-and-a-half months.

well don't forget like I said they got a lot of other stuff to do, work on the next chapter, the upcoming mid chapter update, the map reworks (which are more needed than dedicated servers tbh) balance changes. the archive event. skins. the Halloween event. etc. so it is not a all hands on deck for working on the dedicated servers

  • @Kilmeran said:

@SteelDragon To be fair, this was one live test. Now they tweaking again. I'm fairly confident there will be additional Live tests throughout October.

So, the original server launch delay is still in effect. And they said Fall 2019, which gives them until late December.

I think it should be delayed again tbh

Well I don't deny that there are many reports of bad experience but... I really think the pros outweigh the cons.

im not saying for them to scrap the dedicated servers I am saying that they need to be DELAYED to FULLY FIX THEM and make them NOT a worse experience for most people than the current P2P. if dedicated servers are implemented they should IMPROOVE the system, not make it worse. im just saying there is ALOT of ironing out for the servers before they are ready and they will take ALOT more time then the current release date of the servers. since they are doing other stuff like archives, reworks to maps, nurse addon rework ETC. It is just not all hands on deck to dedicated servers but it is just one project. so they need more time to iron this out is how I feel.

  • @Satsui said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/739124#Comment_739124

I disagree that the general consensus of the servers test was negative.

I saw more positive feedback than negative, which is big considering people who would come to the forum are more likely to come to complain than come and compliment.

so instances of MM tiering up to t3 then tiering down to T2 is fine? how about a noticeable long delay with any killer power that requires charging, or how about the nurse having her 2nd blind just not work at all and you don't blink anywhere? or how sometimes you need to kick the gen 3 times to actually kick it. MM stalking through walls. mass DC's. near impossibility to grab people anymore, it start the grab animation on killer end but stops and the survivor gets away while you are left there like "#########". or how you are not allowed to de cloak as wraith and if you do if takes a century sometimes. then there is the stuttering locking of all animations you do as killer ESPECIALLY when kicking pallets.

just to name a FEW of the things that make dedicated servers NOT READY for live.

  • @Satsui said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/738450#Comment_738450

Sorry, but for me and my friends - what you are saying makes zero sense. Dedicated servers took the quality of the game by several notches up. In fact, I don't feel like playing anymore in the CURRENT lobby simulator that is DbD without dedicated servers. It's a world difference for the better.

I can't tell about your experience, but my and people I played with experience was amazing and was overall so much better than the usual P2P where you join lobby 2-15 times depends on your luck and depends on your host. Such an inconsistent experience.

the general consensus of the servers test was negative, implying they are not ready yet. to release them for the few that it improved the game for but made the many have a worse playing experience, would be a big mistake and make a lot of people leave the game

  • @Satsui said:

What the hell you talking about? Are you being sarcastic?

    Dedicated Servers were fantastic.

I hope they bring them back as fast as possible.

I know a lot of people both killer and survivor players, me included that refused to play for the rest of the dedicated servers after testing them a bit, I played a few games and got off and have not played till today since they removed the dedicated servers. if the current iteration of dedicated servers went online and was permanent then a lot of the playerbase would leave and this game would be a lobby sim with dedicated servers

  • less killers where playing for the past couple of days because of how bad dedicated servers were cucking us. I hear they are turned off, if so they killer players will probs come back

  • ARE THEY? I CAN FINALLY PLAY DBD AGAIN! I WANT PROOF! where is the announcement?

  • @ProfessorDunwich said:

Why is this the case? These changes are not hard. Perks like Bond, Kindred, and Empathy could be built in, and killers could be buffed around this. I'm incredibly tired of being hooked and seeing 2 or 3 other survs hop off gens to come get me. Do I really need to waste a perk spot for Kindred every time?

NO, just no. unless all killers get stuff like speed buffs, lunge increases ETC. the gap between solo Q and SWF should not be bridged. SWF breaks the game when on comms. you basically get 90% of the game survivor aura perks for FREE

  • so what now we gonna punish people who have put thousands of hours into learning the killer with the highest skill ceiling in the game? yeah that sounds fine.....

  • if you want more diversity at red ranks start getting on the side of buffing nearly all the killers in the game. only way there will be diversity in red ranks

  • @GrootDude said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/735843#Comment_735843

Peanits has confirmed that voice comms aren’t cheating.

it may not be technically cheating but you are basically getting nearly all the aura reading perks for survivors FOR FREE with comms SWF. which makes the survivors have 5+ perks each vs the killers locked at 4

  • @Satsui said:

I love the new dedicated servers! Seems like all the major bugs were fixed. The experience is AWESOME. Pleaseeee keep it on. People who complain are spoiled brats who cant know the difference between playing as a host than playing on a server. They will adapt eventually.

if you think the dedicated servers are fine atm then enjoy lobby simulator because most killer mains/players will quite and there will be a problem of to many survivors and not enough killers because atm dedicated servers are a HUGE NERF to killers all around when overall killers are already weak even on P2P. P2P atm is better than these crap dedicated servers

  • @Peanits said:

As of yesterday (October 2nd, 2019), we have begun testing dedicated servers on the live PC version of the game following the changes made in the 3.2.2 hotfix.

Please note: Dedicated servers are not enabled on consoles just yet.

If you have had a chance to give the dedicated servers a try, we'd love to hear what you think below.

Additionally, if you could fill out this survey, it would be greatly appreciated: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/J2JRJ6X

    Thank you!

Dedicated servers are so bad im refusing to play until they are removed. massive delay on killer power like plague puke, weird and clunky interactions like when vaulting or kicking a generator or breaking a pallet, I saw that now if the killer and the survivor are on the hatch at the same moment it opens the survivor can get out which is stupid. this is just my experience though I didn't test all the killers because I got so fed up with the BS that these servers have caused I got off and refuse to play until the dedicated servers are REMOVED. they need to be DELAYED AGAIN or if they are not SEVERELY IMPROVED UPON they will KILL DBD

also grabbing survivors is a complete RNG, sometimes you will grab them other times you will start the grab animation only for it to cancel and the survivor keeps going on their merry way

  • @DarkGGhost said:

The nurse will be nerfed and they will make her have one blink or if they let her keep the two blinks then they will have a cooldown before you can use it again ( 20-30 sec) and if you get stunned by a pallet the timer will reset .

they are only looking into her ADDONS NOTHING ABOUT HER BASEKIT, god dang, they say they are looking at her addons and everyone is thinking it is a entire re-balance of the character my god. they said multiple times it is just the addons being changed

  • @DaftPunkk1 said:

u are just having the same delay that all survivor always have throwing pallets, valting windows and etc, stop being a baby cryng and learn how to play now with a fair connection

survivors are already the power role when the killer is host, this is technically a heavy nerf to all killers atm. entitled survivor main cry baby detected

  • @Peanits said:

Don't worry about that, that's in pretty much any EULA. Standard practice.

I just noticed you posted recently, is the dedicated server test still live on PC? if so for how much longer? kinda want to play DBD without dedicated. when I tried it with plague it was bad

  • @BBQnDemogorgon said:

I don't know why they'd ever turn them off if the majority has a positive experience.

If its still bad for most then sure.

most of the feedback I have read and seen is "they are better but still bad" im not the only one not playing until they turn off dedicated servers.

  • @StardustSpeedway said:

They're live on switch and the game plays fine. I never noticed a problem with survivor or killer.

switch is a much different platform than PC

  • the servers are not good enough for live, when playing the plague earlier there was a very noticeable delay from when I would go to activate her power and when it would actually charge as well as when I would release and it would start, threw off ALOT of my timings especially when I was partially charging to spew on gens quickly. when also what should of been pallet stuns did not stun me and I have always been "the pallet hitbox is to big" but even im saying I should of been stunned a few times. when I did go to break a pallet there was a big stutter before breaking the pallet. also at the start 1 person Dced and soon after another person DCed not sure if rage quit or something but even the people in the game said that it was worse than before.

if it doesn't improve the dedicated servers need to be delayed again because they are NOT ready. im refusing to play anymore until the dedicated servers are removed

Something tells me you've never been chainsawed through a window, finished vault. It's bullshit. Always was.

the chainsaw has length to the saw part, why should it start a the window? if you are still in the slow fault animation it should hit, survivors already have a lot of second chances they don't need more

  • @Angelicus23 said:

I like how they implemented them just now instead of eaiting for the ptb, saves more time and brings them faster

rather they take their time to make these dedicated servers work and not just implement them ASAP because people think that dedicated servers will fix everything when they wont

  • so what? are the killers arms so thick that the ENTIRE SURVIVOR can fit through the window but not a killers arm holding their weapon?

  • you should be able to hit through windows tbh, not like the killers have T rex arms and cant reach their arms past the windows with their weapons.....

Now, I’m not stupid. I know about all the addons and such. I know more about this game than my job. However, I’m curious what you guys think about good perk builds on spirit. I have had her p3 50 for months. I stopped playing her since, but only because she wasn’t my play style at the time. Than recently I’ve been playing her and hooking Claudette’s like no tomorrow. As I put more perks on her and max her out, I want to play alllllll the builds. So tell me what ya got

P.s. meme builds, op builds, fun builds, etc. are accepted

my build is BBQ, ruin, pop, haunted grounds

  • even if they did it to stop de ranking people will still do it, it will just take 2x more games. when i de rank i just pop open some youtube videos and stuff or even play another game with DBD in the background looking for a game

One thing I don't understand about the Plague is this:

A survivor cleanses, Plague collects corrupt purge at a fountain, uses the red vomit, then reverts back to green after a while.

But then, for seemingly no reason, the Plague is "breathing fire" once again - without having gone to another fountain.

Is this a game mechanic or a bug? Whatever it is, it's a surprise mechanic which some survivors would argue is unfair.

there is 2 instances where plague gets her corrupt purge without going to a fountain, she is using the pink addon that gives her corrupt purge everytime a gen is completed OR, every fountain has been used by the survivors at which point all the cleansed alters get un-cleansed and she gets her power, basically it's a 5 fountains for 1 corrupt purge kind of deal, but she can get it mid chase. those are the only 2 situations plague gets her corrupt purge other than going to a corrupted fountain

Dead by daylight is not a competativ game, its a casual party game that is played with friends. Saying i cant play with friends because i played more than them is not a good marketing strategy.

if it is not competitive then why is there a ranking system? and before you say "so noobs don't play the pros" then that is why they changed SWF, the old system was abused for red ranks to bully non-red ranks. so stop your complaining SWF has been broken for a long time and they finally have started to fix it.

  • 2 reasons

1 to counter bloodwarden, bloodwarden does not proc till the exit gate is opened

2 to give the survivors more time to save everyone, if someone is on the hook this gives the survivors time to heal and group to get a save, if the EGC is going you have the clock ticking down and overall less time to heal and get a save, especially if a save goes wrong and 1 person may get away but another person gets on the hook, if I see someone get downed when im powering the gates I will 99% until they are hooked at least so that way if the killer has bloodwarden I wont need to worry about it, also if the person getting hooked is not on death hook then I will 99 it to give us the survivors more time to group up heal and get a rescue effort going, unless I am solo then I will maybe go for the save depending on how far away the hook is and what killer it is

  • these are not good examples, those 2 red ranks with only 8k points each seemed to have 1 of 2 things happened to them ,tunneled to death or they gave up on hook at some point, 8k points shows they where not in the game for long, context is super important in these and just a picture of a 4k without ruin does little to justify your point, you say ruin is not REQUIRED, technically not against very bad survivors. against good survivors? yes. but tell me how do you know what kind of survivors they are before you go into the game? better to be safe than sorry. I just had a game as billy in purple ranks where I 5 gen 4ked. ruin wasn't needed at all yet how was I supposed to know that the game would go that way? Ruin is needed in high ranks for a chance against COMPETENT-GOOD survivors. against bad survivors no.

  • @Nicholas said:

The same can be said about a number of things, decisive strike and borrow time are so popular because many killers tunnel and camp!

I only ever "camp" if it is a certain scenario like, I know there is someone around the hook and I go about looking for them, there is pallets/gens to break, my ruin is nearby, they are hooked in the middle of a 3 gen. even then I will just patrol around not really camping but still actively looking for other people to chase, and for tunneling. I will always try to go for the unhooker survivor, I will follow the scratch marks but if I end up finding the unhooked person instead of the unhooker then I will down them and if I don't think they have DS I will hook them again. im not gonna slug you if I think hooking you is the better option for fear of being called a "tunneler" just because the scratch marks led me to you instead of the unhooker

  • when the obsession dies the stacks stay but the perk de-activates, so it kinda makes it to where you don't want to hook the obsession.... ever... or else if you hook kill him you lose the effects of Dying light. it says so in the perk, IF THE OBSESSION IS ALIVE

  • i would love to run devour hope but it is dead usually before 3 stacks, and if I do get to 3 I might get 1 or 2 hooks out of it before it is found, never have gotten it to go to 5 stacks because of crap totem placement

  • @PeenutsButt3r said:

You expect a monster feet to be quiet?

compare the sound to all the other killers, his footsteps are super loud

  • we will lose more people from people abusing the current system of rank 1's Qing with a rank 16 to bully yellow rank killers than people Qing with their high rank friend and getting high rank killers. they know what they are in for when they Q, now it wont be abusable. SWF is bad enough and needed changes and this is the step in the right direction.
