For his Adept, don’t use his power. You’re not getting iridescent Gatekeeper regardless, so you can’t afford to hurt your chaser with instadowns. Game I finally got Adept I used his power exactly once, and that was to zoom around the map to find the hatch before the last surv found it.

You can still use his power for Demon Dash. Just tap M1 to do a regular hit instead of a 1 hit lunge.

I'm a Nea main, I'm not getting passed by on that map, believe me. Haven't powered the gens even once on that map.

Obviously, the neon Nea thing is an exaggeration, but if you were wearing Nea's basic clothes or prestiged clothes, you could definitely not be spotted for a good while.

I know I'm unhappy about how freaking dark that map is as a survivor (I can't stand Blendettes). Every time I load into it I'm shocked by how dark it is.

Yeah, the new map isn't that good :/

It's super dark and has a lot of cover, it's huge, hurting M1 killers and Huntress even more due to lack of map pressure, and those statues are creepy :(

  • @ABannedCat said:

Killers now have a permament Carrying-music playing, making stealth for survivor even easier, because you can hear them even less.

Don't forget they made maps darker across the board, making maps like Yamaoka Estate a complete heaven for stealthy survivors, especially Sanctum of Wrath. With all the bamboo, shrubs, and now that the maps are even darker you could probably walk past a neon Nea.

  • I'm getting him to P3, but this would be my preferred build:

    BBQ

    Coulrophobia or Sloppy Butcher

    Distressing

    Infectious Fright

Relying on a huge Terror Radius to find people with IF during Blood Fury, using Coulrophobia or Sloppy to slow down healing, and using BBQ for BP and to find the next survivors.

I am so confused....is he good on console or not?.....

He's still pretty good with console controls, obviously not as good as on PC. It's similar to the Nurse on console situation, but not nearly as bad.

Going off of this, give it some time, Oni came out yesterday and is one of the harder killers to get a grasp of. Give it some time, get used to Demon Strike and Demon Dash, get to know the best time to use Blood Fury, get some good perks on him that compliment his power, ect.

  • The best part about this is that they are claiming "If you didn't like the Legion changes from the PTB, you should've voiced your opinion."

Because absolutely NO ONE did that. Sure, ok.

Legion needs a complete rework at this point. Legion being tied to Deep Wounds makes them fundamentally badly designed. Every nerf Legion gets almost always goes hand in hand to a buff to BT/DW. DW is practically pointless now, instead of changing Nemesis and BoP with Legion, you know, like they should have, they just completely made DW pointless. It's a band aid fix, meanwhile Legion sits in the corner, rotting corpses that they are.

Legion is one thing that devs never listen to their community about, they just go around, constantly avoiding any major rework they can, despite the massive cries from the community asking for a Legion rework to make them strong and fun to play with as killer, and challenging yet counterable for survivors.

But don't worry guys, Legion is getting Christmas sweaters, because everybody enjoys playing a massively gutted killer.

Well, hold on for a second because he's just trying to see all has changed, and there's really nothing wrong with that in my opinion. He's not even complaining, just curious if there was anything that changed that we wasn't told about.

Anyways, the developers haven't done any shadow changes in while because it causes huge backlashes from the community, which is understandable. The developers are great people, and I can assure you that everything on the 3.4.0 Patch Notes has everything that was modified to The Oni. 😁

Also, I wouldn't believe everything you hear either because rumours can change over time.

I can tell someone, "Oni has a huge lunge range in Blood Fury" and by the time it reaches you, it could be modified to, "Oni lunge is really broken in Blood Fury" 😂

This is the worst game of Telephone I've ever played.

  • I wanna see Oni just ######### punt Feng across the map.

  • He'll hit you with a different club this time.

  • How about, now hear me out...

    Loincloth-less Oni!

What's the point of this comment? Every time I see you respond to someone you act like a dick.

Hey, relax a bit. Give survivors time to adapt to new Legion, people will go down to new Legion, like how they are getting destroyed by Oni. They need a bit to adapt. Either you are really good at Legion, they were potatoes, or new Legion is good, probably a mix of the first two.

  • Demo or Oni. Demo is a predator designed to hunt and kill. Oni is a huge buff demon beefcake.

Poor Wraith would get snapped like a twig.

borrowed time before deep wounds seemed more cooler although I never got to play with it

It was essentially only useful when gates were open. It could only be used once, and the timer wasn't stopped by anything other than healing. But it effected both the unhooker and unhookie, meaning if the gates were open you essentially got two people out for free.

Deep Wounds now pause while sprinting or mending rather than while you're in the terror radius. That way we can keep the perks the same while also dealing with the Oblivious/Undetectable issues with other killers (i.e. Freddy, Pig, Wraith, etc.)

Short version is, the vast majority of the time, nothing changes. They still can't sit on a generator instead of mending. But you won't be able to hide your terror radius to get a free down with no counterplay.

Ok, thanks for the info. Also, why does Bill in particular get a free ugly sweater? Was it something Valve wanted?

  • Bill gets a free ugly sweater? And no massive nerf to Oni, his perks, or Yui's perks? Thank the Entity!

Nope, Nemesis and Beast of Prey are unchanged from the PTB.

Anything about Legion? Or will they get a fix in a hotfix, at least regarding BoP and Nemesis?

  • Nurse is just trash on console in general. Usually when a new killer comes out there will be performance issues, similarly to Demo, and will probably happen with Oni. Although FPS is a lot worse than PC, it isn't as bad as many people say. The game does freeze on the results screen and during loading frequently, as well as constantly being hit with "No Network Connection" and "Host Unreachable."

    Source: Am Xbox player.

  • I imagine this might be stemming from Tru3 playing as Wraith recently. Of course Tru3 usually wrecks house with most killers so I don't know. Wraith is far from OP.

  • You America. ######### you.

Jokes aside, as Ghostface either entering the grab animation but they just run away and the grab doesn't connect or being broken out of Night Shroud from someone behind 17 walls on the other side of the map.

  • Don't forget frames dropping every time Bloodlust activates. I've missed more hits due to Bloodlust than I can count.

  • Hatchet throwing for Huntress. The closer you are to the bullseye the more BP you get. The targets could move to make things harder.

Bottle toss for Clown. Instead of throwing bottles, he throws little plastic rings to get around bottles of The Afterpiece Tonic. Alternatively, you could race with Maurice! Try to escape the angry carnies and make it to the Entity's realm safe and sound.

You could have an obstacle course for Legion, vaulting with Frenzy to get the fastest time possible. Can be played with up to 4 players.

Oni and Billy could also have obstacle courses based on controlling the Chainsaw and Demon Dash.

A stealth minigame for Ghostface. Try to get somewhere without being spotted/broken out of Night Shroud.

I did all of them. Except for "last minute hero" they were all doable without farming.

I hate all these grindy challenges though and I hope they will be replaced with something more interesting in future tomes.

    My "favorites":

    • Fully deplete 8 keys for 30k bloodpoints. Broken key costs 5k, addon for aura reading costs 4k. 8 * 9k = 72k bloodpoints... It's just waste of time and bloodpoints. Not to mention that my P3-50 Kate with all perks had only 4 broken keys, so they seem to be pretty rare.
    • 25 safe unhooks. I spent more time on this challenge than on ALL killer challenges together. Again, just 30k bloodpoints reward.

I probably spent the most time on Escape 10 Trials, simply because I suck at survivor :P

Iridescent Age will take a while due to it being bugged.

  • @arslaN said:

I literally only completed the first survivor challenge since the next one is get 2 safe unhooks at egc and I don't want to play killer right now.

Yeah, I ended up working backwards through the Tome, doing all the Killer challenges before going back for survivor challenges. Escape 10 Trials and Unhook 25 survivors definitely took some time.

  • @Azgard12 said:

So, I was one of the people a bit taken aback by these challenges (though mainly because of what they were instantly doing to the community).

I've gotten to the epilogue but still have 3 challenges left: blind killer while they're holding someone, unhook 2 survivors during EGC, and hook 2 during the EGC.

I was in the same boat, but they didn't turn out too bad with a bit of grinding. Managed to get the Sacrifice 2 during EGC because of the timer running out.

  • Toxic - When a killer or survivor plays the game normally.

  • I saw it as once Archie found out Evan didn't tell him about the Union and his drawings, that was what made him snap. It says in Trapper's official lore "When Archie MacMillan finally snapped, Evan became his enforcer in what would become known as the worst mass murder in modern history."

I say this because instead of hitting Evan like usual, Archie simply walks away, as said in the final entry for BBG.

As for the cinematic, I saw it as Archie simply beating a worker to show Evan a lesson, but now am leaning more towards the dream idea presented here. We see Evan's knuckles are bandaged when he wakes up, and see that as projecting his father onto himself, implying he beat the worker just like his father would.

It also infers to this by having Evan look at a picture of himself and his father, implying that he feels he is becoming more and more like his father. Maybe the dream gave Evan the idea to cave in the mine?

We also know that Evan served Archie dearly, "Becoming his enforcer in what would be known as the worst mass murder in modern history."

A common theory I see is that Evan took Archie's place as boss of the mines as he became sicker and weaker, before eventually abandoning him, seeing him as too weak to have a place in the mines, weak like the maggots he used to rule over, and the mine is no place for maggots.

  • I feel that. I got bored a while back after Ghostface released, but the Stranger Things Chapter brought me back. Started feeling that way again but they brought in the Archives. Now I've been balancing DBD and ARK, but DBD will take up most of my time now, definitely going to git gud with Oni.

People exaggerate Legion, Nurse, and Spirit changes, then assume BHVR is going to gut any killer they say are going to rework or is over performing.

In reality, BHVR doesn't always gut killers, and when they do, gutting is exaggerating what exactly they did to that killer. Most changes BHVR made towards killers is for making things balanced and fun for everyone. They just buffed Legion and made Freddy a beast a while ago — Ghostface got a significant buff too. The community, not everyone, tends to only see the bad of BHVR more than the good because it's easier to look at someone's mistakes than look at their success.

I said too much, bracing for impact! 😕

I agree with most of what is said here, Freddy and Ghostface both (rightfully) got majorly buffed, and people are mostly exaggerating Spirit's nerf. For Legion however, I wholeheartedly disagree that Legion was not/is not getting gutted.

To be fair, I agree that Legion had many problems that needed fixing, such as moonwalking and Frank's + SWS. However, I feel that they took it too far. They severely nerfed every aspect of Feral Frenzy for little compensation.

For a 5% increase in movement speed Legion lost/gained

    1. The ability to down in Feral Frenzy, making the power non lethal.
    2. A loss of speed in Feral Frenzy, now moving at 5.0m/s, down from 5.28m/s.
    3. The ability to see blood in Feral Frenzy.
    4. A 24 meter Terror Radius, now a 32 meter Terror Radius.
    5. Missing an attack with Feral Frenzy now cancels the power and depletes the power gauge.
    6. Overall cooldown of Feral Frenzy increased from 15 seconds to 20 seconds.
    7. Feral Frenzy can only be used when the meter is completely full.
    8. Stun time of ending Feral Frenzy increased to 4 seconds from 3 seconds.
    9. Vaulting in Feral Frenzy is now slower.

These changes completely gutted Legion. The purpose for Feral Frenzy changed from lethality to slow down, with Legion relying on perks like Thanatophobia, Sloppy Butcher, STBFL, and Dying Light. Now Legion is getting another update.

    These changes include

    1. Increased Feral Frenzy's movement speed to 5.2m/s, compared to 5.0m/s.
    2. Vaulting in Feral Frenzy is now faster, taking only 0.9 seconds.
    3. Feral Frenzy is no longer a basic attack.
    4. Mending now takes 12 seconds solo, and 8 seconds when performed by another survivor.

While Legion gains back their movement speed from before in Feral Frenzy, the lack of ability to down in Feral Frenzy serves it no use. The big kicker for Legion here is the reduction to mending time and making Feral Frenzy hits count as basic attacks. This removes what was left of Legion's slowdown potential. The removal of synergy with STBFL and Sloppy Butcher allows survivors to completely ignore being injured, thereby removing the slowdown caused by survivors healing, which will therefore make Feral Frenzy completely ignorable, as there is no point in using it if all survivors are injured. This, combined with the fact that Legion still has to deal with a 4 second stun everytime they use Feral Frenzy is beginning to make Feral Frenzy more of a detriment than a helpful power, as using it during a chase will allow a survivor to most likely get to another pallet or window, thereby removing the possibility of it being a tool to end chases, making Feral Frenzy even more useless.

Overall, Legion is definitely getting an overall nerf. Feral Frenzy gives no real upsides aside from the 12 confirmed seconds a survivor won't be on a generator. It cannot be used to end chases, it cannot be used for any meaningful slowdown, it is just a mess. Legion seriously needs a complete rework at this point.

Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.

He needs to “feeeel” the story he’s reading. He needs to convey the emotion behind it. He needs to, at the very least, take a breath.

The only time I feel he has remotely done this is in "The Entity" logs. You can hear a bit more feel and inflection in his voice.

  • Yes. He barely acknowledges whatever these ... are called and everytime I open the Lore section I get hit with the "Hemovesthroughthedeathanddecayofthevoid".

  • @thesuicidefox said:

Survivors are not a TEAM. This is your problem.

Your goal should be your own survival. Not the survival of other players.

You should only be saving people if it increases your own chances to survive. But when push comes to shove, be selfish. If you play selflessly expect to die.

But then I feel sad that I can't get the 3 randos out while the killer is camping with NOED :(

I usually try to get everyone out but the "Escape 10 Trials Challenge" really throws a wrench in my plans. This happened earlier and I'm still sad about it :(

  • Oni and Billy would be downright stupid. Two killers with insanely high map pressure and instadowns. A wee bit overkill if you ask me.

  • Agree with this 100%. Sure, sometimes it causes you to hit someone in some sort of astronomical way, but usually you just miss in embarrassing fashion, usually allowing the survivor to get to another loop or window and prolong the chase even more.

  • As The Trapper, kill all 4 survivors using his three unique perks.

As Claudette Morel, escape the trial using her 3 unique perks.

  • Evan's dad and Claudette's mom suck butts.

For challenges I've been using my basic build. Devour Hope, Brutal Strength, Nurses Calling, and either BBQ, or Agitation if it's a Basement challenge.

  • It might be the devs game, but our feedback should mean everything. We are the people who bought this game which allows the devs to keep developing. If the devs go directly against a large amount of the community that will result in a loss of players, which will result in less profits. As great as the devs and mods here are, ultimately the game's survival is dependent on us.

  • Just finished all the killer challenges. Hopefully most of these changes are for the survivor challenges.

  • Overrated: Ruin. I honestly prefer to run Devour Hope and steamroll. DH is a lot more fun to use than Ruin anyways

Underrated: Devour Hope. Easily my favorite Hex perk. A lot of risk/reward. Seeing everyone go nuts once you get your third token is hilarious, and being able to Mori people on command is great.

  • *Laughs in console not having Dedicated Servers yet*

  • That's how it is with 1 shot killers. Using their power destroys your emblems. A blessing in disguise honestly.

Erm my entire point is that if you are really trying hard to win, you should not be cooling off as a survivor. If you are the strongest looper on your team you should always be seeking aggro (assuming ruin is down).

Even if you are trying hard to win there is still a lot of down time compared to killer. Killers are under a constant timer and have to be doing something constantly, whether it be chasing a survivor, patrolling gens, clearing the map of pallets, or for certain killers setting up their power, like Trapper or Demogorgon. Letting up pressure on gens and survivors for even a few seconds can decide the game. Survivors have to do gens and get chased, maybe break a totem or two and search a chest. As Weck has said, survivor isn't easy, but it is a lot easier than killer.
